I have been instructing for a number of years and I am delighted to join the DLA team as an Automatic Driving Instructor. As a fully qualified ADI I understand that sometimes a new driver can be less confident in their ability to use a manual car. Sometimes people find that using the clutch and the gears as well as learning all the other skills required to learn to drive just a little too daunting.

By creating a relaxed atmosphere I aim to make your learning experience in an Automatic car less stressful whilst covering all the essential skills you will need to become a confident and competent driver.

Fantastic experience: In addition to my previous instructor bailing out on me last minute, I found his lesson style disappointing in retrospect. However, Dave was fantastic! He was very patient, knowledgeable, and made learning easy and stress-free. Lessons were well-structured with a strong focus on safety and real-world driving. He made manoeuvres seem easy with clear instructions and practical tips. The car was always clean and comfortable, and thanks to his guidance, I passed my test within a month of lessons and on my first attempt with him as my instructor. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I started taking driving lessons with Dave Williams just over a year ago, opting for automatic as I felt it was the best choice for me. At 40 years old, learning to drive was important to me, and I'm so glad I chose Dave as my instructor. From the very beginning, Dave helped me through the entire journey. He assisted me with my theory questions and answered any concerns I had, truly guiding me every step of the way. Dave is extremely professional and provides a great car to learn in. He was very patient and knowledgeable, quickly understanding the way I needed to learn, especially since I found it quite challenging at first. His approach made all the difference. I was consistent with my lessons, and as my test date approached, I arranged extra lessons with Dave, which proved invaluable. He went above and beyond, helping me with the "show me, tell me" questions and making additional time for me when I needed it most. I highly recommend Dave—he's a genuinely nice guy, very knowledgeable, and highly professional. I can’t believe I’ve actually passed my test at 40, and I couldn’t have done it without him.

Fantastic experience: I started with Dave in November (2023) after not driving for 6 years and lacking confidence. Dave made me feel comfortable straight away and shared his wealth of knowledge. I passed with only one driving fault (6/8/24), thanks to Dave. He is the best instructor that I have had. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have had many driving instructors in the past and had a long history of failing driving tests and not feeling confident behind the wheel. Dave made sure I knew what I was doing and that I felt at ease. Very patient and kind. Best instructor I have had hands down. Would recommend him to anyone. Passed my test with him first go with no minors!
