Dave Williams - DLA Driving School

Fantastic experience: In addition to my previous instructor bailing out on me last minute, I found his lesson style disappointing in retrospect. However, Dave was fantastic! He was very patient, knowledgeable, and made learning easy and stress-free. Lessons were well-structured with a strong focus on safety and real-world driving. He made manoeuvres seem easy with clear instructions and practical tips. The car was always clean and comfortable, and thanks to his guidance, I passed my test within a month of lessons and on my first attempt with him as my instructor. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I started taking driving lessons with Dave Williams just over a year ago, opting for automatic as I felt it was the best choice for me. At 40 years old, learning to drive was important to me, and I'm so glad I chose Dave as my instructor. From the very beginning, Dave helped me through the entire journey. He assisted me with my theory questions and answered any concerns I had, truly guiding me every step of the way. Dave is extremely professional and provides a great car to learn in. He was very patient and knowledgeable, quickly understanding the way I needed to learn, especially since I found it quite challenging at first. His approach made all the difference. I was consistent with my lessons, and as my test date approached, I arranged extra lessons with Dave, which proved invaluable. He went above and beyond, helping me with the "show me, tell me" questions and making additional time for me when I needed it most. I highly recommend Dave—he's a genuinely nice guy, very knowledgeable, and highly professional. I can’t believe I’ve actually passed my test at 40, and I couldn’t have done it without him.

Fantastic experience: I started with Dave in November (2023) after not driving for 6 years and lacking confidence. Dave made me feel comfortable straight away and shared his wealth of knowledge. I passed with only one driving fault (6/8/24), thanks to Dave. He is the best instructor that I have had. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have had many driving instructors in the past and had a long history of failing driving tests and not feeling confident behind the wheel. Fantastic experience: I learnt to drive with Dave W and passed first time. He was a great instructor who was calm, patience, encouraging and clearly explains all aspects of driving step by step which gave me the confidence to keep up with my lessons. I was very anxious about driving but Dave W helped me by allowing me to learn at my own peace and never rushing me even if some aspects of driving took me longer to learn. I would definitely recommend Dave W to anyone who wants to learn to drive.

Fantastic experience: I had nine 2h driving lessons with Dave. I passed first time with only two minor mistakes on an automatic car! The nine lessons took part during the pandemic/lockdown. They were spread across 8 months. Dave was flexible with fitting my lessons around my work schedule , which I appreciated. He took on a challenge to teach someone who has never driven a car before. He patiently talked me through the basics, allowing me to build up my confidence. He is a great communicator and won't rush the process until he knows you're ready for the next step. He explained the test to me - it really helped to know what's going to happen. I took my test in Leighton Buzzard. Dave ensured we drove around that area to familiarize me with the roads around the driving test centre. Overall, I have no hesitation recommending DLA and Dave in particular! I'll forever hear him reminding me to check the blind spot and mirrors when I'm driving.
