Fantastic experience: I've just passed my test first time I'd like to thank and give praise to my driving instructor Liz who was brilliant, very helpful and made my dream of passing my test a reality so thank you I couldn't of asked for a better instructor.

Fantastic experience: My instructor Julie was amazing! She was a joy to have as an instructor and she took her time with me. Encouraged me and made sure I felt comfortable for my test! Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend 5th Gear Driving school, especially with my driving instructor Shamim, who was extremely patient and kind with me. I suffer with a lot of anxiety, so I never actually thought I would manage to try in the first place, let alone pass, which I did; first time as well! (And in a manual!) I'm so glad I made that scary decision and most especially, so grateful to Shamim that she was my instructor and kept with me. If anyone is hesitant about learning to drive for similar reasons then I would definitely recommend asking for Shamim, although I am sure the other 5th Gear driving instructors are lovely and patient too. It was quite a big journey for me and she was with me all the way, so I'll always appreciate and be thankful for it.

Fantastic experience: I took an intensive driving course with Debbie and passed first time with zero faults. She was really accommodating in working in the hours of lessons I needed in such a short space of time. She was strict but fair, which definitely helped me improve quickly and understand what the examiners were looking for. On top of that the car was great to drive. Would highly recommend.

Positive experience: I was fortunate to be referred to Julie by Kurt since I was struggling learning with a manual car. Julie has been patient with me, she was always calm and collected in any situation. Thank you Julie for believing in me and for pushing me. Its been a great journey.

Fantastic experience: I’d like to say a big thank you to Julie for helping me pass my driving test! She has been patient with me and this allowed me to build my confidence up. All the techniques and explanations on how to do things were very clear and easy to understand. Thank you again!

Negative experience: Quite a bad driving instructor called Mihai. Avoid him. Always bad mouthing past students and other instructors. Says he doesn't care about money but never says no to money. And always has inappropriate/wierd conversations that will make you cringe. Also doesn't prepare students for tests properly and leaves things to the last minute. WATCH OUT FOLKS! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Fantastic experience: Learnt with Debbie and would definitely recommend her! She has been patient and knowledgeable whilst also making me feel very comfortable whilst driving. If you want to pass first time choose Debbie :)

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend 5th gear enough especially instructor Debbie Clitheroe. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly, patient and kind and went above and beyond numerous times. Always kept encouraging me to keep going at times when I thought I couldn’t. I couldn’t of done it without her, she is an absolute asset to 5th Gear !.

Fantastic experience: Been having lessons with Angela, absolutely amazing lady, really patient & understanding. I had my test today and passed with 1 minor! Thank you once again Angela for your help and support :)

Fantastic experience: I was lucky to find Julie as my instructor. She has exceptional teaching skills and dealt with me very patiently. I felt very comfortable and confident while driving with her. Thanks to her great mentorship I passed without even a  single minor fault.

Fantastic experience: 100% recommend Kayley as an instructor! Even though I was very nervous at the start, I have loved my refresher lessons over the past couple of months! She made me feel so comfortable, and has been a brilliant teacher. So funny, and lots of great tips! THANK YOU

Negative experience: I'm a week away from my test and the instructor I have been using gave my two hour driving lesson to someone else Saturday just gone, all because I was working until 6pm and could not reply to the message on Friday. Then to be told today he now has covid but hadn't contacted me properly to try and arrange a suitable or helpful replacement for my test which is in 1 weeks time. Absolutely shocking and uncalled for behaviour.

Fantastic experience: I had an opportunity to get trained from Debbie Clitheroe.. she is such a sweetheart.. has so much of patience and teaches all the rules properly and always strives for perfection.. I have had bad experience with another driving school and wasted almost an year to start to learn again, but Debbie had given me that much needed confidence right at the beginning and this week I passed my exam on my first attempt .. one of my test got cancelled right at the beginning of my exam, while I had given up to book an earlier slot, she made sure I got one on time.. I have so much of confidence in driving now and don’t think I would have done it without her help.. Thanks to Debbie and the 5th gear for all their support..

Fantastic experience: I learned to drive with Debbie Clitheroe, she’s such a lovely person and a wonderful teacher. She’s very patient..always explains everything properly and never makes you feel like your question is a silly one. I suffer with anxiety but learning with Debbie made me so comfortable and I was able to pass my driving test. I don't think I could have done it without her. Thanks so much to 5th gear driving school but especially Debbie for giving me the confidence to pass.

Fantastic experience: I had Vicky as my instructor, I had gone through a few instructors before I came to Vicky and honestly I regret not going with her sooner. She's firm but fair which is what you need in an instructor. I would honestly recommend Vicky to anyone learning how to drive and I passed first time thanks to her.

Fantastic experience: Mihai is my 4th driving instructor. He was the best I had ever had and had me passed in 1 month. He is proffessional and a great teacher. Calm, always on time and its actually nice to spend time with him learning. Thanks again mate

Positive experience: Had a great instructor who really helped me improve my driving skills which gave me a lot of confidence and allowed me to pass my driving test as well. I highly recommend 5th Gear Driving School due to the well-trained instructors that they have.

Negative experience: Needs to remember to ensure pupils are aware of the 1.5m rule when overtaking and that cyclists are moving forward also, so do not cut in too soon after the overtake nearly taking out a front wheel.

Fantastic experience: My driving lessons were really great and the two instructors I had the pleasure of teaching me were Debbie & Emma, they are fantastic teachers and I could not have done it without them, they are a massive credit to the company 5th gear are lucky to have them. Dee

Fantastic experience: I was nervous, anxious and dreading my lessons and test. I got booked in with Debbie and within 20 minutes of being in the car I was relaxed and happy. Debbie is a great tutor who guided me through the process from start to passing my practical test. I couldnt of done it without her. 1000% recommend Debbie at Fifth gear to get you through it.

Fantastic experience: Firstly, a huge thank you to Debbie for finding an instructor with a car big enough to comfortably fit my 6'10" son and accommodate his busy basketball and study schedule. He really liked his instructor Deb Clitheroe who made him feel relaxed and confident enough to pass his test first time with zero faults. Deb has excellent communication skills with both myself and my son. Would 100% recommend 5th Gear Driving School.

Negative experience: They should be called Reverse Gear because I became worse at driving. Scambags. (I rate 2 stars but it's a half star for each lesson I had)

Fantastic experience: I had Julie, and she was amazing. I’ve had 3 previous instructors before her. She always made me feel calm and always patient with me. My experience couldn’t have gone better. The school is also very supportive whenever I needed them. Thank you sooo much Julie ✨✨

Fantastic experience: Had Debbie as my instructor she was brilliant. Friendly and patient she put my mind at ease. Found her teaching methods very helpful and after a few lessons I passed my test through a fast past company. I am now more confident in areas I struggled with before. Big thank you will definatly reccommend.
