He may as well be a psychiatrist as well as a driving instructor lol. I’m 38 and as you get older you get stuck in your ways . Fantastic experience: I could not recommend Den Ashworth enough if you are looking for an amazing driving instructor to teach you to drive safely for the rest of your life! He has been so patient and encouraging in every lesson, even when I know I’m being an absolute pain. When I first came to Den, I was a hot mess in the car due to a previous instructor and a test that I was not ready for that completely shattered my confidence - for 5 years I had it set in my mind I would never sit in the drivers side again haha. Den has believed in me all the way through, even at the start when I could barely steer down the road. I am a completely different person now, he has built my confidence to the point where I didn’t even feel like I was on a test, I knew my skills and knew I could drive well! He has taught me not just how to pass, but instilled in me skills where I can drive safely anywhere and for the rest of life, and along with our mini therapy sessions where I was scared to even pull up, I will miss driving with Den :) I also really appreciate the support page with skills and videos I could look back on, they definitely came to mind when I was doing certain manoeuvres and are so helpful when you need to look back on something but you don’t have a car for private practice. I started lessons with Louise to get me back to test standard and also to get to know the local area. Louise is absolutely lovely. A great teacher, calm, patient and great to have a chat to. Fantastic experience: This morning i passed my practical driving test with only 1 minor from a manoeuvre and it was all thanks to Den's amazing teaching skills. I was recommended Lancashire Learners School of Motoring after i failed my test with another instructor. When I first started lessons with Den, I was very nervous, shy and unaware of vital things i should have known as part of driving. However, Den was patient with me, explained things clearly and helped me open up which turned me into a confident and safe driver which i can't thank him enough for. He is the perfect instructor for new drivers and so i highly recommend Den, couldn't be where i am now without him!

I started my lessons along side my brother and he didn't teach us the exact same way. He locates what you're good at and what you struggle with and helps build you up from there. I appreciate how straight forward he is, you always know what he thinks of your driving. But he will always be respectful about it and what he says will always be constructive never to make you feel worse. And if one day you feel you're not doing well for whatever reason, I can personally tell you he will listen. He is more than just an instructor he cares about you. I fully recommend Den. 10/10

Fantastic experience: In a nutshell: If you want to pass your practical test first time, get Den as your driving instructor. Den takes his role as a teacher very seriously, and because of this he can pinpoint exactly what it is a learner needs to become a safe driver. If you need words of encouragement or warning, Den knows how to help you get to a state of mind and proficiency where you feel confident and comfortable driving. From the word go he provides easy to read diagrams and notes to understand what it is you need to do to drive safely. Believe me they are incredibly helpful! When starting the lessons, I had some bad habits which I developed from a few years driving in Latin America (Mainly not paying attention to road signs). As a testament to Den’s teaching skills, I was able to pinpoint and correct these bad habits. So, if you want an instructor who listens to you, takes the job seriously and can help you pass first time: Den’s your man. He also has a great sense of humour, so a lesson is never boring :) 5 Stars, 10/10 would recommend. Thanks Den!

Fantastic experience: From a parent’s point of view, Den involved me with feedback on my daughter’s progress and suggested areas for private practice. He also offered blocks of lessons for a slight discount which I paid up front allowing me to budget for the cost. Most importantly, he tailored his teaching to match my daughter’s learning style. Not only did she pass first time, but she’s is a really good driver.

He takes great effort in ensuring his style is tailored to each individual pupil, always offering advice and ensuring the pupil is enetered for the test at the appropriate time for them. Fantastic experience: To think of the difference between when I first got in the car with Den and passing on the first attempt is like looking back at a different guy. Den instilled the confidence in me and by the time my test came round I believed in myself that I could do it. Always looked forward to my lessons, he puts you at ease and has a knack of getting the best out of you. Also the amount of care and thought that Den puts into his lesson plans is something else, and my friends and family were surprised when I told and showed them the diagrams and notes he gave me along the way.
