Fantastic experience: I was able to pass my driving test first time today thanks to Claire and Skilld drivers ! I would not have been able to achieve this without Claire - she was always patient and supportive, and made the car feel like a safe, non-judgemental place. I would recommend them to anyone looking to learn to drive in the Colchester area

Fantastic experience: Claire is a wonderful and patient teacher. I have seen a massive improvement in my driving and overall confidence on the road because of her. I now feel excited about driving and that’s because Claire has helped me think about all the positives about getting my license which has calmed my nerves and anxiety. Claire is super reliable and has never cancelled a lesson. She is really encouraging and gives great constructive guidance and tips for improvement.

Fantastic experience: On Saturday 9th March I passed my practical driving test in Colchester after 10 lessons with Claire at Skillld drivers. As a tutor, Claire was patient, understanding, attentive, giving me constructive and practical advice. She identified my weaknesses in my driving and gave me instruction in how to improve, plus specific homework tasks to quickly rectify these errors. I have nothing but praise for Claire because without her I would not have passed my test. I would recommend Claire and Skillld drivers to any learner driver in the area.

Fantastic experience: It would do justice to give some background to my previous driving experience. Having driven for several years back home, where I was heavy footed on the gas, quick on the corners, and darting through traffic, driving in the UK required me to follow a more stringent set of rules and safety measures, where I had to unlearn some of my previous driving styles, and incorporate the rules and regulations on the road that make driving both safe and a pleasant experience for everyone. Having searched around Colchester for an instructor who taught candidates in an automatic car, June was recommended to me by a colleague. Where some may look to adding a large number of lessons for monetary gain, June was very professional and looked at my driving capabilities in her recommendation for lessons before my test date. I teamed up with June for a total of three lessons excluding my test date. Straight talking, matter of fact, and to the point, June did not waste time in sugarcoating my errors, and for that I am very thankful. With a firm hand she guided me and drilled into me what needed correction, and made sure that I incorporated them. Under that tough sounding demeanour is a lovely lady who genuinely wishes the best for her students, and I would most definitely recommend her if you want to pass the driving test. Additionally after having received my pass certificate, June took me through the circuit that I had completed giving me additional feedback, concluding with a profound statement “Now is when you’ll really learn to drive”. Having secured a pass at my first attempt at the driving test, I’m both relieved and exhilarated, but I will also miss my lessons with June, especially some of her more fun quips when my driving was corrected “He’s coming bombing down the road, and you was trying to pull out in front of him”. I do wish June, and all of her candidates at Skillld Drivers the very best.

Fantastic experience: Want to know my secret? Well the answer is JUNE- she is myTutor! I passed my driving test yesterday on my first trial in the UK and with a high level of confidence, I can say that this would have not been possible without the consistency, patience, tolerance and guidance June demonstrated throughout my lessons. I am Nigerian and moved into the UK 3years ago. Back home, the signs/roads are not well structured like the UK’s so it was difficult adjusting/understanding the basics here given that I had little or no skills. Positively, with June’s guidance and coaching, I was able to learn the skills required to become a safe high standard UK driver which enabled me pass my test on the first time like it was nothing. I was initially nervous and anxious about taking the test but realised there is no need due to the level of constructive learning styles June had instilled in me. June observes where your struggles are, gives you enough information to enlighten you on your area of weakness, helps you overcome them whilst providing series of diverse opportunities/learning styles for you to improve your skills and patiently prompts you as required till you are a %100! I would definitely recommend June from Skilllddrivers to guide you on you journey to becoming a safe/high standard UK driver up to DVLA requirements.

Fantastic experience: After struggling with various instructors over the past couple years I have passed! I have a few disabilities so I had to drive automatic. My instructor was a lovely lady called June, I instantly felt comfortable with how polite, kind, and professional she was. She goes above and beyond to make sure every lesson is 2 steps forward.Even though I have passed I will still be having lessons here and there until I have a car.

Fantastic experience: I used Skilld Drivers to practice for my Automatic driving test. I had some lessons before starting with my instructor, Claire, but I was no where near ready to pass my practical. I started with Claire in February 2022 and she was amazing! One of the first questions she asked me when we got in the car was 'how do you learn?'. This is a big thing my previous instructor hadn't even thought about asking. From the first session she Tailored her teaching to my learning style, helped me unlearn the bad habits I'd picked up and relearn the safest way to do things. Today, at the end of April 2022, I have passed my test and now a qualified automatic driver, with only 2 driving faults. I definitely accredit a lot of the reasons why I passed to Claire who was patient, kind, and a great teacher...
