He’s a great and patient instructor who was able to build my confidence on the road and get me test ready quickly. His teaching is thorough and practical, and he has good chat and humour which creates a great environment in the car for learning! Appreciated the flexibility to my schedule too!

Fantastic experience: My instructor was Paul. Paul was always so patient with me during all my lessons and was very thorough with all the information he gave me not just about driving but also how the roads work and all the intricate details of anything you may come across. He really did make sure I felt confident as a driver.

Negative experience: Avoid avoid avoid! Booked my first lesson with him last week. Cancelled 20 minutes before the lesson. Following week, turned up late only to tell me he was too tired and too much traffic on the road! Totally disgusted by the unprofessionalism.

Negative experience: Contacted these amateurs 2 weeks ago enquiring about block bookings and possible intense learning to finish off me.previous 29 hours of learning, I also was honest and told them that I didn't particularly enjoy driving (who really does nowadays) but circumstances now made it a necessity. No reply, nothing, not a word. So my money will be spent elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: First time pass thanks to Andrew Pirie. I hadn’t driven at all when I started my lessons with Andrew, but he was very patient and had lots of great tips. Through his teaching and guidance he has helped me become the confident driver that I am now. I have also loved driving with him as he always made sure that the lessons were fun and was always good to chat to. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Thanks for the driving lessons. Andrew was a great driving instructor who ensured I passed first time. I was a pretty nervous driver but his helpful coaching and support helped me become a confident driver. His teaching approach worked well, he had a way of putting you at ease if you made a mistake and but still focusing on ensuring you understand how to avoid it in future. Plus he was always good to talk too and I enjoyed my lessons with him. Would recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience learning from Romain. I had driven extensively previously in India and needed to adapt my driving to the UK system. Romain helped me pass in the first attempt at the Shieldhall test centre.

Fantastic experience: If you are nervous about starting lessons, have failed with other instructors, think you're a lost cause... better call Paul! I'm 32 and I had half accepted I was not meant to be a driver, it was such a disaster when I tried before. But Paul Harris had the patience of a saint, I don't know how he stayed so calm through all my tantrums! And yesterday I passed FIRST TIME, I still don't know how that's humanly possible. Fantastic experience: I had an incredible experience with Hillhead Driving School. I hadn't driven before and was a little anxious about it, but was immediately put at ease. Andrew was such an amazing instructor: he is a very calming influence, explains things thoroughly and clearly and is very reliable. I enjoyed my lessons so much, it was bittersweet when they came to an end. Thanks to Andrew, and his patience and dedication I passed my test on the first attempt. Fantastic experience: First time pass at Anniesland thanks to Hillhead Driving School! Romain was patient and friendly creating a great atmosphere for a learner. Lessons included everything from clutch control to mock tests and were all incredibly helpful. He prepared me to pass my test and to be a confident and competent driver.

Fantastic experience: Previously completed some lessons with another company and was put off driving for around 18 months because of a horrible instructor. Gave it another go with Hillhead Driving school and what a difference. Great communication at the beginning getting set up, Andrew was a superb teacher, really took the time to explain things clearly, couldn't of been more helpful. Ultimately passed my test first time with no faults. Can't thank or rate enough.

Fantastic experience: Roman is a tremendous driving instructor and I would absolutely recommend Hillhead Driving School to anyone looking to learn. Having not properly committed to driving lessons at age 17, I was apprehensive at the thought of learning again years later. However, Roman did an outstanding job of helping me get over those nerves. He was excellent at recognising areas that I was struggling with and was always able to help me overcome these problems - I would not have passed on my first attempt with another instructor! Fantastic experience: Would absolutely recommend Roman to anyone looking for a reliable, patient and thorough instructor. Having had a few lessons with another instructor and not clicking, I changed to Roman and passed my test first time within one month of starting lessons. I was especially struggling converting driving on the left side of the road to the right and he was particularly adept at helping me with this and understanding the different style of driving in the UK. Overall, I think you would struggle to find a better driving instructor, thanks again Roman!

Fantastic experience: Coming from a different driving school and getting a horrible experience (rude and impatient instructor), it is safe to say that the experience with Hillhead Driving School was worlds apart. I learnt critical skills and improved on bad habits which was often skipped in the previous school, and the best part was the patience, professionalism and comfort in getting lessons from Roman. Can't recommend highly enough. Every penny spent on lessons is worth the money! Passed my test today :D

I like how he takes time to focus on your developmental areas and his instructions/tips are always clear. The lessons were always fun and had a lot of good chat as well. Fantastic experience: I was always very nervous about learning to drive, due to always putting it off. However, Roman put me at ease and I passed first time! I found the whole experience so much better than I expected and there was always good conversation to be had. I couldn't recommend and thank Roman and Hillhead Driving enough :)

Fantastic experience: After highly disappointing experiences with other driving schools and worrying that I'll never learn to drive, only a few months of learning with Roman has made a huge difference. Always punctual and reliable, he is an insightful and methodical teacher who really put in the work to focus on correcting the pre-existing problems with my driving. I passed my test first time and would recommend this school to anyone!

Negative experience: Paul Harris is a guy only wants you to take longer hours, rubbing you, makes you nervious when you were driving. Only wants more money, please do not learn from him.

Negative experience: I was needing to get my license quickly, i phoned around looking for a school which would have lessons in the evenings on short notice. A lot didn't this guy did. I now understand why The one word that can be used to describe this guy is, horrible, he FORCED me to take two hour lessons when you only want one. You could be tired and may not want to overdo it at the start. but no, ITS NOT WORTH IT FOR ME he says...fair enough He provides no encouragement, tuts and sighs, the mouth breather that he is. He also forgot to teach me a part of the syllabus, only remembered this when i told him why I failed. Avoid. There are better options out there.

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience learning to drive with Andrew. He is a professional and thorough instructor, ensuring everything is covered so that there are no surprises on the day of the exam. His instructions are always clear, and he tailors lessons to suit your needs, giving more attention to areas you are struggling with. He is calm and supportive, always pushing you to believe you can do it. The lessons were always fun and full of great chat as well. It is thanks to Andrew that I managed to pass first time.

Negative experience: Unprofessional, unpleasant and has a chip on his shoulder. Driving instructors have to be patient, polite and encouraging, however with this guy you can expect, sighs, puffs, eyerolling and ego trips. Your mistakes aren't met with explanations but with exasperation. This person isn't fit to teach.

Fantastic experience: I really couldn't have asked for a better driving instructor - Romain made me feel so comfortable during my lessons and gave me so many great tips that even allowed me to pass my test first time. Thanks to my instructor Roman I passed my test on the first time, as the lessons had been so comprehensive and well taught I was not even nervous about it. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to learn how to drive in glasgow.

Fantastic experience: Living in the West End I hadn't ever really felt the need to learn to drive, however I really wanted to get this under belt. After researching driving schools and comparing prices I decided to go with Hillhead SOM - they offered a first free lesson and the next two for £50 - this was the cheapest I could find at the time and the online reviews seemed decent. My phone call was returned almost immediately and I had my first lesson within a few days. My instructor was Roman, he was great: nice and calm and very good at explaining the rules of the road and how I should approach these. I had around 6 lessons with Roman before he suggested I should book my test and I had around 11 or 12 in total before taking my test. Roman ensured I was confident in performing the manoeuvres, approaching roundabouts straightening out any little faults I had picked up before my test and I passed successfully first time! I would definitely recommend Hillhead SOM and, in particular, Roman.
