All Pass Driving - Glasgow City Branch: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I had an extremely POSITIVE experince from start to finish with APD. I first spoke to Alistair who organised everything........he even changed my test date when the original date he booked didn't work for me. His teaching style was very calm and reassuring which helped to lower my anxiety and increase my confidence. My whole experience with APD and Alistair was completely positive and I have no hestitation in recommending the company and him.
Negative experience: Scammer. Made us pay a deposit via website and stopped answering the phone.
Negative experience: I rang this school to make enquiries, the man who answered the phone was rude and condescending. This man should realize that what ever his opinion, he is in customer service and that there are ways to speak to people and he doesn't seem to have grasped that. We found another instructor who was kind, polite and decent and my husband passed his test first time, in Airdrie a couple of weeks ago. (after just 3 classes with this other instructor). Really poor show and just not necessary to be so unpleasant to people ringing up for help.
Negative experience: Avoid at all costs, totally useless and will try and scam you out of a deposit!!! Alastair is totally unorganised, and had got my booking totally messed up, which sadly, is the best part of the experience. When I made my initial enquiry I spoke with Alastair on the phone and he advised me to book a test and that I could have lessons in Anniesland. My test was a few months away due to centres being busy so as it got closer to the time to begin lessons I had to chase him repeatedly for a response. When he finally got back to me, he advised I was to pay a deposit to get the lessons booked, which is fine and a standard proceed, however, prior to me paying the deposit, I double checked how this works when we haven’t even discussed availability and ensured our diaries definitely could match, it started to take a turn and he proceeded to offer me limited availability and options. When I originally contacted him I specifically let him know I was based in Anniesland and looking for lessons here which he agreed to. He suggested that along with Anniesland test centre I should also check Bishopbriggs test centre, because I may get a test there sooner, which I did by a few weeks. However, now when trying to arrange those lessons, he told me I couldn’t be picked up in Anniesland and I that would need to go get the train from Anniesland to Shettleston for my lessons and that it’s “only a 20 minute train journey” which personally I found an appalling suggestion (20 minutes walk to the station, then paying a 20 minute train journey that the other side of the city all for my driving lesson???). After much discussion on how I had done everything asked of me, how me travelling to shettleston was a ridiculous suggestion and how I’ve been totally messed about and let down, he advised me I’m not a client as I have no lessons booked and now wouldn’t be getting any as no one can pick me up in Anniesland. I’ve now wasted months waiting for my test to now, last minute, have no instructor and now need to push my test back, which will likely be months from now. And let’s be honest, if I was silly enough to have paid a deposit, without having any oversight of availability, I don’t believe for a second I would get a penny of that deposit back for rejecting his ridiculous suggestions. Terrible way to treat people and terrible way to run a business, over all a terrible experience and I would not recommend getting tied up with the company at all.
Positive experience: Phoned up the in February and they advised that they could book me in for an intensive course for the start of may- much faster than other local instructors who said they wouldn’t have availability for weekly lessons until then. Gave me clear instructions on the steps to take, and matched me with an instructor (Chris) who was great. Passed first time at bishopbriggs so all in all a good experience!!
Negative experience: ****AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!**** ALISTAIR is the owner and an instructor of this company. If you are unlucky enough to book driving lessons with him I feel sorry for you. He is a racist, inappropriate loser who likes the sound of his own voice and should not be allowed on his own in the car with young women. If you are fortunate enough to have read this review please consider some Of the other negative reviews and save yourself some time and money
Negative experience: I would not recommend this company, especially if you end up with Alistair. Avoid !!!
Negative experience: My friend booked an intense driving course with Alistair. He is completely unprofessional! Avoid at all costs!
Fantastic experience: Alistair is a brilliant driving instructor, would highly recommend !
Fantastic experience: Top guy and top tuition, passed me first time and first time for the second time after I was daft enough to get my licence revoked both with 10 hours.
Fantastic experience: I cant thank APD instructor Alistair enough, l sat a 10hr intensive course and passed my test on the 18th of May 2022,Alistair helped me sort out my imperfections to get me up to test standard, l recommend APD very highly. Many thanks, David Scott.
Fantastic experience: I completed a 30 hour intensive driving course with Alistair at All Pass Driving and passed the driving test first time. Alistair the instructor is very good at what he’s does and makes you feel relaxed when learning. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to drive and drive with confidence.
Negative experience: Avoid at all costs! I have booked an intensive course with APD. After a bigger block, myself and my instructor agreed that I’m too nervous for an intensive course and should switch to more stretched out course. And this is where the troubles began . The allocated instructor was entirely unreliable and unless I chased him up the day before the agreed lesson, he just didn’t turn up at the pre-agreed time. It shouldn’t be my responsibility to manage his diary and teach him time management. I completed about 25 hours out of the 35 purchased and learned absolutely nothing, they still owe me around 10 hours worth of lessons because after the instructor didn’t turn up to the last arranged lesson (he didn’t call afterwards either and I haven’t heard from him since despite him knowing I had a practical booked), I got fed up and decided not to bother with them anymore as his lack of professionalism and me having to chase him non-stop just caused me stress. £900 down the drain, and I feel absolutely scammed out of money.
Fantastic experience: Just been given my test date only 2 weeks after booking a block booking of 25 hours, so looking forward to getting on with it. I'm very happy about the way All Pass have dealt with me so far. They have kept me updated every step of the way so far. I'll update again after I sit test, but so far I'd encourage anyone to use them.
Negative experience: IF YOU HAVE A DISABILITY KEEP AWAY. The instructor I was given had no patience for my difficulties behind the wheel. His method of dealing with my slower reaction times and need for patience was to attempt to browbeat it out of me. He put his hand on his face, huffed, swore at me. He oscillated between telling me he had confidence in me as a driver and saying that the test centre would not take me out on the road. When it finally came to my last few lessons he got so angry at me that he said that if I wanted he would give me a refund. We stopped in a car park where he tried to intimidate me into reconsidering the refund. Saying the manager wouldn't have any of this and would tell me I am crazy, he got him on the phone. It was an uncomfortable situation. When all was said and done the instructor pulled out a calculator and told me that when he changes the rates, i would not get a refund like he said. The company owe me 4.5 hours, and an apology. I spoke to the manager again afterwards in an attempt to settle this peacefully and I am still waiting on him. It has been a few months since this incident and I originally thought I wouldn't say anything, but here I am with my confidence shattered and no other recourse.
Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars I would, this company is the most unprofessional I have ever had to deal with. Zero effort made, always had to keep chasing them and when I had to cancel because they kept taking to long they only gave me half my deposit back and put it down to “cancellation fees” they didn’t do anything for me whatsoever. Would not recommend all the negative comments and reviews which you see are definitely genuine. Worst company ever!!
Fantastic experience: Just passed after a 30 hour intensive course with Alistair. Course was brilliant. Covered the test route as well as motorway driving and long distance drives as well. Definitely recommend especially if you need to pass quickly for work like me
Fantastic experience: Great experience so far, easy and fast booking process and flexible schedule.
Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend APD and Bobby as an driving instructor Definitely 10 out of 10 Bobby's your man It was an amazing experience to learn with Bobby. He is a really excellent instructor I must say. Feeling so lucky to have an experienced and friendly instructor like him. I've learned a lot from him. Cheers Bobby hope to see you soon for a coffee.
Fantastic experience: My experience with APD was fantastic! Had the best driving instructor I've ever had in my whole time of learning to drive. I learnt so much more in the few days he worked with me prior to my test. Sadly, I did not pass my test but I could have if I had listened to my instructor. My experience was so good that i went from being terrified to get behind the wheel of a car to absolutely loving to learn to drive. All thanks to an amazing instructor, Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Just started a driving course and it’s been an easy process booking and even changing my test. Lessons are great and instructor is spot on.
Fantastic experience: Brill service and down to earth. X
Negative experience: While I can't speak about the quality of lessons at this company, I can say that my first impression of it was very negative and discouraging. I called this company last week to ask for a last minute driving lesson before my driving test (my instructor at a different company was out sick). Whoever answered was incredibly rude, and essentially told me that, because I was American, I absolutely would not be able to pass my driving test. He went on to tell me how, unlike America, the UK driving laws actually care about safety. More than anything, he continued to emphasise how I couldn't possibly be ready to take my driving test because I was American. I understand that he was probably just trying to sell me lessons (and to be honest, I agree with him about American drivers), but there was no reason to berate me for being an American driver and shame me into feeling like I had no hope in passing the test, despite never meeting me and knowing my driving experience. Ironically, I took my test Monday and passed with 2 minors. To be fair, this review is based on the one interaction with this company - however, it was a negative and discouraging one.
Negative experience: I don't recommend to anyone to work with them. Bad customer service, communication and more. As you paid you are the one chasing them and they ignore your calls texts or mails.
Fantastic experience: I am learning to drive will all pass looking forward to it
Fantastic experience: I was understandably apprehensive about starting an intensive driving course, but I shouldn't have been! Can't believe how far I've come in such a short time. Alistair is a top guy, he's honest, puts you totally at ease and most importantly knows driving inside out. Can't recommend highly enough!
Negative experience: Very bad experience with this driving school found Alistair very unprofessional, still owes me hours that he has "banked" but found a much more professional company. I would advise to spend your money elsewhere on better instructors.
Positive experience: Booked 25 hour course for my son, he is looking forward to getting on the road
Fantastic experience: currently on an intensive course with Alistair at APS, so far seems a top instructor and would highly recommend if your looking to pass your driving test quickly
Fantastic experience: Just started my intense 25 driving course which has started well. Hope to pass first time.
Negative experience: You may (not) enjoy the service they provide. But I would advise you to read through the comments that have more than 1 like. With no surprise they're all negative because they summarise my experience very well. I didn't get to the driving part because everything was going out of control. First contact was amazing, booking was easy and they were very helpful. As soon as I paid the deposit, i became the one chasing their business. Multiple texts and calls unanswered. And to my surprise all the great talks from before me paying the deposit went through the window. Make no mistake, this is a one-man show that is poorly executed. May be you will have better luck, but I recommend you look elsewhere, and pay attention to the comments instead of the rating (I wish I did).
Fantastic experience: Had my first lesson with Alistair today, felt really comfortable! Excited to see how the rest of the course goes!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience really helpful instructor and has a great method for teaching and I would strongly recommend anyone who is looking for any experience whether to hone their skills or start up I would highly recommend taking these guys on
Positive experience: Recently booked a 25 hour intensive driving course with All Pass Driving. It was pretty straight forward to book. Looking forward to meeting my instructor and starting my lessons.
Fantastic experience: Passed first time! I had Frances for my 30 hour semi intensive course. She was extremely calm and helpful. She made me feel safe, comfortable and confident, and was lovely to chat to as well. Frances is tough on you when its needed but only in a constructive manner. Would highly recommend Frances!!! As for Alistair and AllPassDriving, the online deposit and booking was simple. Everything was set up for me with no fuss :) Thank you!
Negative experience: DO NOT use this company. I have never in my life encountered a more unprofessional business owner than Alistair and my experience with them amounts to nothing more than theft. I agreed to and paid for an intensive driving course to start in October. For weeks I made multiple unanswered calls and texts to arrange dates and times for my lessons. I was told to wait until I had passed my theory test which I did. I was only then given details of the instructor and had a test booked in - which the instructor herself told me she couldn’t do. I was also told that the instructor couldn’t provide any lesson time availability until the week before the test - so I had absolutely no idea whether I would in fact be able to schedule in lessons at appropriate times before my test. Through the whole experience of chasing and trying to find answers from this company, Alistair was rude, unhelpful and obnoxious. He refused to refund me the money paid as “he is a business, not a charity” then took it upon himself to cancel my driving test so I now need to find another date and pay AGAIN for the practical test. This man is an unprincipled thief. There is not any regard for customer service - to be told that you cannot be given any lesson times until a few days before, especially when they do not offer weekend lessons is ridiculous. Most upsetting though is the patronising way he spoke to me. I did literally everything to work around this scam artist’s policies when any decent business should be the other way round and provide a service that is flexible and centred on the customer - not his own back pocket. Having now read other reviews it’s clear I’m not the only one who has been ripped off. This company should not have a licence to operate. Please seriously consider an alternative for your driving lessons. The stress, loss of money and appalling treatment is not worth it.
Fantastic experience: Just started my intensive course after not driving for over at year. I was nervous to begin with but Alistair made me feel calm and confident, good service.
Fantastic experience: Just started my 15 hour intensive course with Alistair after not driving for five years. Totally put at ease and had the issues i needed to work on pointed out in a constructive and helpful manner. Really confident I will pass my test at the end of the course.
Positive experience: Booked 25h course. Good start - Alistair very good at adapting teaching style to work best for me.
Negative experience: absolutely atrocious.
Fantastic experience: I have just started my courses. Everything is going smoothly.
Positive experience: Booked up for a 30hr intense driving course with APD they have been very friendly and helpful.
Positive experience: I have arranged an intensive block of lessons for my daughter and am very impressed with the service so far. My daughter says she has learned so much so far in only a few hours and is hoping to sit her test in a few weeks.
Negative experience: Do not touch this company with a barge pole. Incompetent doesn't even scratch the surface. They are simply a broker service to go hire other driving instructors, you need to pay the instructor you choose directly, you then have no come back should that instructor not meet your expectations. They will chop and change their rhetoric to meet their own absurd attempts to justify their poor service and business model. Save yourself the time, money and most definitely the enormous hassle and go book your own instructor.
Fantastic experience: Alistair is a bomb scare when it comes to getting in touch. Double booked me, and offered a refund 2 days before my course was due to start. Honestly thought I'd fallen for a scam as he repeatedly failed to text or phone back, and just kept asking my name and when he had booked my test for. He is absolutely blessed to have Amanda on board who managed to re-arrange her week and other pupils to accommodate me at 2 days notice. After my first outing she quickly devised a plan for the week and we got started. Amanda was very nice, funny, easy going and delivers great tuition in her own style. Learning things in a short space of time becomes much easier when you are made to feel so comfortable. One of the best mentors I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. Passed today :)
Negative experience: I had a very bad experience with Alistair as instructor. I will advise anyone to stay away both from APD and intensive driving courses (iDC) both owned by Alistair. I passed my test after few classes from another driving school. The best thing I got from APD is the link to (already free) video lessons available at learnerdriving website. I think customer friendliness and professionalism (adhering well to ADI code of practice) could provide a great experience for learners. Other instructors within APD appears to be good based on the reviews. I wish I have got one of them as my instructor.
Fantastic experience: Started my lessons with Alistair today. Started off very nervy psyched myself out a bit. Alistair calmed me down well and had a bit of banter going around. He knew where to start from after assessing my previous driving knowledge and tried to get me more comfortable. Looking forward to the next lesson hopefully not so in my head about it.
Negative experience: Avoid this driving school at all costs - the school also operates under "Intensive Driving Courses Glasgow". Initial contact seemed hopeful, with Alistair assuring me that I could work my lessons around my schedule and we can get a test booked almost immediately - LIES. Very persistent to make you pay a deposit. I paid the deposit for 15 hours, which Alistair said was all I would need as this was a resit after losing my license a few years ago. Now this is where things went downhill. I had to book and pay for the practical test myself as the online booking system recognises that I already have a full license. I booked the day and time Alistair told me to. Then it was radio silence - no contact from any instructor and weeks of calls to Alistair which went unanswered. He finally replied saying he was on holiday and by this time the test date had passed, so I lost the £62 booking fee. Alistair apologised, saying he couldn't understand why I wasn't contacted by an instructor and would compensate me with extra lessons after I pass my test, intended for Pass Plus or Motorway confidence. Ok, fine. He then told me to book another test, giving me the exact test date and time to book for, insisting that he himself will take me for my lessons. I booked the test - another £62. Within a few days I was then contacted by Jerry / Gerry, one of the instructors. This man was completely disorganised - after 3 phone calls, I had to continually reiterate my driving experience, when my test was booked for, the days and times that suited me and each call ended with him saying he'll get back to me once he had his notes in front of him. Time went on, the test date drew closer and I still didn't have a lesson. My texts and calls became unanswered and finally I text Alistair to state that I was extremely unhappy with the level of professionalism given, the lack of organisation and I had lost all confidence in their ability to teach me to drive if they couldn't even organise a lesson plan. Magically, Gerry contacted me saying he was sorry and that his phone was away for repair which was why he didn't contact me for almost 3 weeks. - MORE LIES Alistair text me to convince me to organise the lessons and every call to him since has gone unanswered. Another £62 test lost. I had contacted Citizens Advice who have alerted Trading Standards to this business. I sent Alistair a formal letter to request my full refund including cost of damages, delivered recorded to his business address. I have received zero refund and zero communication so have informed Alistair that I will now be taking this case through Small Claims Court. Absolutely appalling business practices, no concern or morals and very disorganised instructors. I will be receiving every penny that I am owed and I will make sure I won't rest until I do. If anyone see has had similar dealings, I urge you to do the same.
Fantastic experience: Started an intensive course. Alistair really knows his stuff. Finding some of it hard to grasp but will hopefully get there by the end of the week!
Fantastic experience: PASSED FIRST TIME with 1 minor mistake out of “15 minor driving faults”. With one click booking online, Alistair will arrange everything for you with no fuss. And a very big thank to my driving tutor Frances. My results proof her teaching method. THANK YOU All Pass Driving!
Fantastic experience: Very quick and easy registration process. Online payment to book lessons is easy. Received registration response immediately and my driving test booking response within 24 hours. So, far my experience has been very good. Looking forward to my lessons now.
Fantastic experience: Well what can I say, I took the 7hr course option and I passed with no problems at all, Alistair made me feel at ease with the some good banter which relaxed me as I was a bit apprehensive on doing a test again after some yrs out. Very professional and the schooling was absolute second to none. Couldn't have asked for a better teacher. Cheers mate enjoy ur trip and il look forward to seeing you at a circuit sometime. Colin #222
Fantastic experience: just like to thank allister for helping me pass my driving test he is a great instructor would highly recommend him and staff at allpass to anyone
Fantastic experience: Was quite nervous starting my 10 hour course but after sitting with Alistair for a short time my nerves were gone. All instructions before and during my course were great. Today I passed my test 1st time, can’t thank Alistair enough, will definitely recommend him and his team in the future. What a guy! Cheers mate.
Fantastic experience: Currently I am learning with APD( ALL PASS DRIVE) and the help and training I am receiving is second to none!
Fantastic experience: Halfway through my lessons with Alistair from all pass driving and has been great so far, very punctual and experienced. Update: passed my driving test on first sitting with Alistair! Great driving instructor, really helped me sharpen things up for the test.
Positive experience: 30 hour course with alistair Didnt pass through my own fault but instructor seemed more concerned with personal calls or other clients while supposed to be on my time. Should hire a secretary or someone to deal with company calls and prioritise the client in vehicle.
Fantastic experience: Passed today!! Great instructor, and fantastic material given to do lots of learning at home. Thanks ALL PASS DRIVING!! Michelle mclean
Fantastic experience: Easy to book and I'm looking forward to starting lessons
Fantastic experience: was able to work around my schedule as i work full time
Fantastic experience: passed first time
Fantastic experience: Booked my 20 hour driving course with alistair, very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to starting in a few weeks.
Fantastic experience: I learnt with Amanda and I could not have been more pleased with the process. I passed first time and she even discharged herself from hospital to let me do it so I could enjoy my christmas! She even also defended me from other aggresive drivers, making me feel safe whilst building my confidence. A great person and instructor! I would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Patient, considerate and honest tuition. Passed after a 10 hour course with Alastair. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Excited to start my 15 hour intensive course and hopefully get test ready. Good correspondence so far and was recommended to me by two close friends who passed first time.
Fantastic experience: Signed up with all pass driving for an intensive course & had first lesson today with Alistair, would recommend. Very patient & understanding
Positive experience: Started 25 Hour intensive driving course with Alistair today, so far very good. looking forward to the rest of the week
Fantastic experience: Contacted Allpass driving school looking for an intensive driving course at very short notice. Alistair was brilliant and went out of his way to accommodate me when other driving schools were just dismissive. Despite the challenges Alistair managed to arrange things and the process was seamless. Now booked my 30 hour course and will keep you posted but highly impressed so far!
Fantastic experience: Due to start 30hour course. So far friendly and professional contact over phone and email.
Positive experience: very quick process and getting started soon
Fantastic experience: Having recently passed my theory I decided I would rather do an intensive course to hopefully get me on the roads quicker. So far Alistair has been very informative and accommodating. Hopefully I pass first time!
Fantastic experience: My experience with All Pass Driving was excellent. I completed the 20 hour intensive driving course recently and am a much better and more confident learner driver for it! My instructor, Alistair, was very patient, calm and encouraging of me as I can be quite a nervous driver. Would highly recommend to a friend!
Fantastic experience: So far a pleasure to deal with. Will start intensive lessons in the next fortnight. All good
Positive experience: Just started an intensive course with Frances and she's been great - friendly, patient and makes you feel at ease. From my experience the admin side of things at APD could be slightly better organised, but I can't fault Frances on her teaching. I feel a lot more confident already and have definitely learnt helpful lessons from her - thank you!
Positive experience: Not yet started but correspondence so far has been very helpful!
Positive experience: Currently doing a 10 hour course with Alistair, very good instructor, compared to instructor's I've had before, felt very relaxed while driving.
Fantastic experience: Great lessons, friendly and clear instructions followed wth good advice. Would recommend to anyone looking to pass quickly!
Fantastic experience: I have just recently booked interest course with all pass and Allistair has been great at answering any questions. Allistair always gets back to me any time I call him highly recommend all pass .
Fantastic experience: Morag was my instructor, she was patient and knows her stuff with 40+ years experience. If you can't make a lesson, it's no bother, she will work around you. Pretty much on time all the time (she may be 5 mins late or so occasionally if coming from another lesson, but no issues at all). You can have a laugh with her as well and she encourages you to ask questions and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking the same question a couple of times. I passed on my second attempt after 5 weeks. Cheers Morag, you were class. Highly recommend
Positive experience: Just booked with all pass driving, fingers crossed I'm driving for summer :)
Fantastic experience: Just started the driving course today, very good services and looking forward my practical test.
Positive experience: Signed up for the 7hr driving course. Alistair has very good tips, much better than my previous driving instructor. I would only fault that he is constantly on his phone which obviously takes up time (even though he says this won't eat into my time). Also, him being a busy guy, it is hard to get a hold of him sometimes. However, he has a very good way of teaching and I learned a lot from the course so far. Let's hope I pass my test first time!
Fantastic experience: Very good they managed to get me a place straight away and I'm excited to get started.
Fantastic experience: My experience with all pass driving school has been thoroughly positive and beneficial as I received a lot of help and advice on how to become an all round better driver as well as friendly and interesting conversations with my instructor. Would recommend as you get no nonsense, direct and upfront help with any issues driving in order to make you a confident driver in no time.
Negative experience: Where do i start!! I had my lessons with Alistair I paid upfront for a 7day crash course, this was booked well in advance, after weeks of texting and no reply I finally got hold of him the day before my 1st lesson when he decided to tell me he was away to Germany for the weekend, which totally threw my work arrangements out the window, he was consistently late for every lesson, on one particular lesson I was asked to take him so he could watch his son in a cycling event and had to sit in a cafe for an hr !! I found his attitude towards certain ethnic minorities to be borderline racist, all in all I would urge people to reconsider using this company as I found the whole experience totally unacceptable from start to finish!!!!
Fantastic experience: Booked an intensive driving course after having APD and also the instructor Aleks recommended to me by a past learner (who passed first time after an intensive course)
Positive experience: Just started my 10 hour driving course, hoping to pass soon.
Negative experience: I really didn't want to leave a negative review, however after 5 very polite attempts to get a full refund from APD I feel like I have no option but to warn people about the business practices that are currently being carried out by All Pass Driving. After speaking to Alistair on the phone I booked an intensive course (£525) to get through my test quickly. However APD booked a test for 15 weeks time. I should have been made aware that test dates were so far in the future so that I could chose the more cost effective weekly lessons (£298). Doing an intensive course over 5 days would be ridiculous. 'PRE TICKED BOXES' APD issued me a partial refund but held onto £50 as a 'cancellation fee' set out in their T&Cs. I don't remember agreeing to any terms and conditions. Nor did I even know that they existed until after the deposit was paid!! Nowhere from opening APD's website to paying your deposit are you directed to/informed about the T&Cs. To my amazement... on the enrolment form that you have to fill out AFTER you pay your deposit, there is a PRE TICKED BOX 'I accept the T&Cs'. So I looked into this further and it is not illegal to do this, however in my opinion and many others out there, extremely immoral. It is also important to note that if a website uses a 'pre ticked T&C box' then the terms and conditions do not hold up in court. Customers need to be given the opportunity to 'actively agree' (this means actively moving your mouse and acknowledging what is being asked of you). I did not even notice that there was even T&Cs. And I'm sure that there will be many others that missed this too. Furthermore, you must then confirm by reply to the 'booking email' that you agree to the T&Cs. I did NOT reply to this. (below is a quote from the confirmation email). “You must confirm your course and test details by return email stating the following in the subject line: ‘I (PUPIL TO ENTER NAME HERE) have read, understood and agree with the driving course booked and the APD Terms and Conditions provided” 'REVIEWS' Below is another quote from the 'booking email'. “Would you like to receive 20+ Structure Training Videos for FREE? If so, all you need to do is LIKE us on Facebook and provide a GOOGLE REVIEW here:” These customers have just paid their deposits and have not even sat in the car with an instructor at this point. So how can they offer an informative review of a driving school without even meeting the instructor or sitting in their car? And to offer 20+hours of training material to do so! In my opinion, this is another extremely immoral business practice. Read the 4 star reviews and decide for yourself whether or not the reviews reflect the experience as a whole. Why do we just need to leave a Facebook and Google review? OH!... I see, the Yelp battle has already been lost! 'Paypal Payment' Here is another quote from my 'booking email' “Remaining Balance: £358 (PayPal charges of 3.4% + 0.20p included) to be paid in cash on the first day of your driving course and before commencement of your driving course.” This clearly states that the remaining balance INCLUDES a Paypal charge of 3.4%. Please note that it says that this is to be paid in cash to an instructor! Paypal has absolutely nothing to do with this transaction. (EDIT: I have now seen another customer's booking email and it also included the Paypal fee on a cash payment – therefore it is fair to assume that all of APD's confirmation emails state the same). I truly hope that people have not been paying these Paypal fees on cash payments to their instructors. A lot of the reviews do seem to speak highly of the instructors and I'm sure that they do a good job. Unfortunately they are let down by these immoral and unfair business practices. However, I wonder if the instructors are aware that there is a 3.4% Paypal fee included in the cash payment that they receive at the beginning of the course. Maybe someone should ask them? I hope that this review pushes APD to change their policies and operate a fairer and more transparent business.
Negative experience: Unprofessional bunch. They'll tell you anything you want to hear, just pay the deposit and everything will be sorted out magically. Next thing you know it's a pain to get in contact with them, everything promised will not be delivered and a most unprofessional email will be sent asking you to leave a review for learning materials before a lesson has even started giving rise to the loads of useless reviews you see that tell you nothing about the quality of lessons. Avoid at all cost.
Positive experience: just booked with them today with the 30 hour intensive course hopefully I pass first time!
Fantastic experience: Booked a 20 hour intensive course with APD. Very friendly and easy to work with. Emails, texts and phone calls are all answered and replied to in great time. Looking forward to my lessons
Positive experience: Excited to learn with All Pass Driving and Alistair
Fantastic experience: Started my 25 hour course with Alistair last Monday and took my test today and passed. Having had some driving experience a few years before I felt the 25 hours should have been sufficient. Alistair was very quick at at picking up my bad points and correcting them and put me at ease before I sat the test. Thanks again to allpass driving and to Alistair for the guidance and support during the course.
Fantastic experience: Booked a 30 hour intensive course, looking forward to it.
Fantastic experience: Just finished my first lesson with Alistair at All Pass Driving. He seems like a very effective teacher and was open and honest about where my level of driving is at the moment. He also wasn't hard on me for the errors I made. Looking forward to the rest of my lessons.
Negative experience: Done a 30 hour course and failed 3 times. Then the instructor told me he was retiring so i ended up going elsewhere. When i was booking i specifacly required the 30 hours to be completed during my 2 weeks work holidays then i would purchase further lessons on the run up to test day but the instructor decided hed rather drag the 30 hours out over the 5 week period very very rarely turning up less than half an hour late regularly changing times/days last minute when i would call to find out why he was late. On test day the instructor was less than helpful regarding my nerves actually abusing other instructors present and generally treating every second person with utter contempt . To allaisters credit he handled my booking professionaly and was helpful regarding my complaints about the instructor. Note: my new instructor has been required to correct numerous aspects of the driving style i was taught.
Fantastic experience: Started 20 hour intensive course with all pass driving. Just finished my first lesson with alistair great guy. would definitely recommend

Fantastic experience: Just had my first lesson with Alistair, excellent first impression and really looking forward to completing the rest of my Intensive driving course. Update- I completed the 30 Hour course in 10 days and PASSED my test first time. Highly recommended!!
