Fantastic experience: Alan is a very professional instructor, always on time, very patient and very knowledgeable Makes you feel comfortable whist learning to drive. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is wanting to learn to drive, as I passed first time without any minors.

Negative experience: What everyone else has said is accurate, very impatient man, hostile and rude. Doesn’t give you constructive feedback leaves you feeling like you can’t ask questions or make mistakes and plays on phone the whole time making you feel uneasy and alone while driving. Worst instructor I’ve had and I’ve had a lot.

Negative experience: I wouldn’t personally recommend Alan. I found him as an instructor very intimidating and uninterested in helping me progress as a leaner.He spent a lot of time on his phone and has no patience with people making mistakes which generally should be expected with new drivers.Alan also came across rude and aggressive whenever a mistake was made and the majority of my lessons was spent driving around the same circuit doing the same things. The atmosphere during the lessons was very uneasy so I never felt I could approach him with a question. From the lessons I had I learnt very little and was put off driving. Would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: 100% recommend Alan, I was doing lessons with him for about 2 years (time frame within all the covid restrictions and lockdowns) and he is very reassuring as well as honest too!! He done me a really kind deal aswell which I really appreciate and overall is a really good down to earth teacher. As Alan is an ex police officer he has a lot of really valuable experience and knowledge on/of the road that he shared with me which you just wouldn’t get with anyone else and it will obviously be really useful in the future. Alan didn’t rush me when I first started my lessons as I was extremely nervous behind the wheel but with great teaching and reassuring a passed with flying colours. You will not get this experience with anyone else!!

Fantastic experience: My son Jamie after having numerous instructors and being messed about a lot we finally found Alan. We are so glad we did. He was amazing with Jamie and got him passed first time on practical and theory. Alan is patient and has been fully flexible where he possibly could moving Jamie’s lessons when he got a full time job. Fantastic experience: Alan is an amazing driving instructor! I did some lessons with a previous instructor recommended to me by someone and she really knocked my confidence after looking around for others I couldn’t be happier that I chose Alan! He has built my confidence massively, he is so patient and easy going if you make a mistake he keeps you reassured and gives you advice for how to over come that mistake next time, he never makes you feel anxious about it. He is always on time and will let you know both when on his way and when outside. I passed my test first time with only 3 minors on Friday and if that doesn’t speak volumes for what type of instructor Alan is then I don’t know what will! I honestly couldn’t recommend him enough!!

Very laid back and relaxed keeping you calm on your lessons but not afraid to give you the constructive criticism needed at the appropriate times that will help you pass your test. Thanks Alan

Negative experience: Awful driving instructor, would not recommend to anyone at all. When learning with Alan if that’s what you want to call it, was a total waste of time and money, didn’t get anywhere at all with him. As a first time learner and a nervous wreck I blocked book lessons with him, he spent more time looking at his phone on lessons rather than pay attention to the learner and he cancelled more lessons than I could count also last minute when waiting for him to turn up for a lesson! Ended up finding a professional and top quality instructor and passing my test , now happily driving on the road.

Fantastic experience: Could not recommend Alan higher. I struggled with my previous instructors and failed to make any real progress. However, after finding Alan I am now proud to say I passed first time with minimal minors. He is calm and explains everything thoroughly. I now feel safe and have confidence in my driving ability. Negative experience: As a parent I've lost track of how many people I've spoken to about this instructor since last year who say the same thing. We were recommended from someone who knew his son so Kieran started in August 2018. Alan was aggressive, rude, inpatient and uninterested and used his phone on lessons, Kie give up driving totally as he was so fed up. He started driving again with a Scottish guy in August 2019 an passed his test first time on Friday last week thanks to change. AVOID Sam - Widnes (Kieran Mc)

Fantastic experience: I would have no hesitation at all about a recommendation for a driving instructor, my daughter was taught by alan and the difference he made to her ability to drive was excellent, as my daughter came from a different instructor first. Fantastic experience: I recently passed with Alun and I would highly recommend him to anyone learning to drive! Alun is patient and the way that he teaches is simple and easy to understand. He was already on time and lessons lasted for the full hour - and he was always flexible about rearranging lessons giving notice which was great. Fantastic experience: I recently passed with Alan after trying to learn to drive on and off for the last three to four years. Alan is so calm and patient, and teaches techniques extremely well. I have always had a problem with confidence and nerves however after lessons with Alan I am now very confident on the road! I found myself saying often after a lesson that I can't believe I managed to do a maneuver as I had never been able to do it before with past instructors. I would highly recommend Alan to anyone and everyone. Thank you so much for teaching me how to drive!

Negative experience: No happy the way my 2 lessons got cancelled an was given my money back coz I asked why my lessons finished 10mins early as I paid for a 10 block booking an didn't get an explanation which I found very unprofessional
