Fantastic experience: Fikret was an amazing instructor and a very nice guy. He was very patient and good on explaining things. He is teaching you through the mistakes that you made and how to improve based on those. He is explaining you how to gain confidence during the exams and what you should do in order to show to the examiner that you know how to drive, instead of "ticking boxes". He gave good tips around the maneuvers and what I should do in order to fix the maneuver (e.g. reverse bay parking) in case there was a mistake. He was also very flexible with the schedule of the lessons and the location. The Colindale tube station was closed for renovation for 6 months and he agreed to come to Hendon Central for the lessons. Also I could only do lessons on evenings after 5pm because in the morning I am working on the office. Before Fikret, I had spoke with 15 more instructors and none of them was doing lessons on evenings. On the day of the exams, everything went great. Also I enjoyed our side conversations which were always funny and entertaining. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I passed my test on my first attempt with only two minor faults after around 20 hours of lessons with Fikret. His tough-love approach really helped me focus on areas that needed improvement, and his funny, engaging stories made every lesson enjoyable. I also appreciated that he allowed me to accompany my husband on his lessons, giving us both extra insight. Plus, he arranged for lessons around the same time of day as my test, which further boosted my confidence and helped me perform at my best. If you're looking for a driving instructor who knows his stuff and truly prepares you to be a good driver, just listen to him—you won't regret it!

Fantastic experience: I did not think I will hold a driving license! I started lessons with Fikret and slowly I built my driving skills. He was explaining my faults and always giving me pointers on what to look out for. He was patient and understanding and allowed me to learn at my own pace. I passed the driving test first time and I could not be happier!

Fantastic experience: I passed my test with just two minors. I got on really well with Fikret, i liked his good humour, stories that made me feel at ease in the car and him pushing me and picking up my faults. His style of instructing worked well for me - tough, honest and direct on the things I need to improve on - which was much needed given the time frames involved to get to the test and my urgency to pass. His car is well serviced and a great car to learn in.

Fantastic experience: Fikret is a very experienced and detail orientated driving instructor, who sets high standards to his students and tailors coaching based on his students' abilities and potentials. As a war veteran, he is firm and direct, babysitting is definitely not his style, he won't sit in his car with you and give you a lecture on how to drive/ park a car, but would expect you to take your own initiative to research the basics, and improve your driving skills by hands-on practices and analyzing your driving faults, which he always immediately shout out when incurred. He will also explain to you the consequences of your driving faults and the correct course of action straight away. Tbh, Fikret's bluntness sometimes stressed me out a bit but I don't find it offensive, he actually helped me to develop a disciplined driving style and build my confidence to deal with some real clown drivers on the road. Speaking of confidence, one month prior to my driving test, I was so worried that I wouldn't pass and was planning to defer or cancel my test, Fikret threw me a "hell" week of two-hours-long lessons to push my limit and rebuilt my confidence, so I didn't easily give up my longwaited test booking. I passed my driving test in the rain this morning, and I still can't believe I did it. I am so glad that I picked Fikret as my first and only driving instructor. I would recommend him to anyone who is not only keen to pass the driving test , but also want to become a disciplined driver.

Negative experience: The driving instructor is not so bad, but he is not consistent with timing, and will pick you up late drop you off early. Another fault I have is that he does not give adequate time to learn the parking manoeuvres, so for example you do a hour lesson and out of that hour you will only get 10mins to practice the parking manoeuvres and wants you to continue on to the main roads. Paying in block as well without providing the service needed is another negative experience I encountered. Can come across unprofessional by attending to phone messages, and then responding negativity to the learner when they have made a mistake, but aren’t you supposed to be teaching? Really confuses me, to summarise in my opinion I would not recommend this instructor , but if he works for others then fair enough!

Negative experience: Big NO. Terrible experience with him. Please read all the 1star comment as all of them are true, he will reply on this post with some made up story. Don't fall into this trap. Firstly he is so rude this will shake your confidence, secondly he will always come 10 minutes late in class so for 6 classes he will teach you 1hr less, moving further he will attend every call during class and keep talking. If you ask anything during class he make sure to feel as if we know thing. I have to take classes all from start to pass the test from different instructor. He won't teach you everything in class intentionally so you have to take more classes. Believe us no one have that much time to comment on his profile but to save ypur money. So please keep away !!!!!! Waiting for his response how he will negate this allegations.

Fantastic experience: I had Fikret as my driving instructor. I previously had another instructor and failed my test miserably (3 majors). I didn't realise how many mistakes I was making that my previous instructor didn't corrected me on. Fikret really helped. He's always brutally honest and does expect high standards, and he will get you to not just pass your test, but to a level high enough level where both you and your passengers feel comfortable and safe with you at the helm. I'm very grateful to have had him and couldn't recommend him more highly.

Fantastic experience: I started driving lessons believing I was a suitable road driver but I was so wrong. I had a lot of bad habits and didn't know what I had to show my examiner in the test. With Steer Green I was thought a fresh strong foundation with everything I would need to pass the test first time. An amazing teacher, lets you learn from you mistakes and is always honest in analyzing your abilities and performance. Wouldn't look elsewhere.

Negative experience: I passed the exam, but thanks to the examiner, not to Fikret. he is a good guy, but I think he has some anger issues. He should learn to stay calm during the sessions while the students make mistakes. And he expected to make payment seven days before the sessions. It doesn't make sense to me at all!

Fantastic experience: I started taking lessons with Fikret a month before my test after having a bad instructor who taught me lots of bad habits. Fikret was very patient with me and taught me how to drive properly in such a short space of time and taught me knowledge I will keep with me for life. I passed my test today for the first time with only 4 minors but I will forever be grateful to fikret for everything he taught me. Negative experience: The most ridiculously unprofessional and rude man ever he should find a new job as his always on his phone during the lessons anyway !! Don’t waste ur money on this incompetent scam artist.

Fantastic experience: I am really pleased I went with Fikret at Steer Green - I was lucky to be able to book lessons with him a week or so before my test, he was a great teacher, he is good at noticing where you need development and getting you to be a good driver, not just good at passing a test (which I did!), I'd highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: I have had many driving instructors but Fikret is by far the best. He is friendly and professional but also tailors his teaching to your ability and personality. I passed my test after learning from him on my second try. The only reason i failed the first was because of a silly error on my part. Lessons are affordable and he arrives on time. Recommend you book lessons with him as early as possible as he is in high demand and is very busy.

Negative experience: I wonder how this driving instructor got a good review, he probably had gotten all his people to do this. This man played me and try to go away with my money stylishly. He is very smart and would pretend to be a very good and honest man at first then after you have make you payment he start looking for ways not to take you for lessons but go with your money.

Negative experience: 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND. Fikret the instructer is the worst teacher ever, he will be constantly on his phone and blame and yell at you for not knowing the signs or the rules instead of teaching you them which destroys the student's confidence. He is always late to sessions and will charge you the full amount regardless of the poor punctuality.

Fantastic experience: Fikret is a funny guy. Looks can be deceptive and this big, ex-military, stern-looking guy is actually as soft as a bunny inside. Yes, he has a loud voice and will be direct when your driving is not up to his high standards. This is why my partner picked him for my instructor - because he wanted someone who would be tough with me! But he will also talk to you and get to know you as a person. His lessons were not easy. He told me that they were "harder than the test" and he wasn't wrong. When my driving test was over I literally thought, "Is that it?" And I passed first time. He is an extremely experienced instructor and teaches you to be a safe and competent driver (if only to avoid breaking his car! Haha!) If I had to do it all again I would pick Fikret. And although I was extremely happy to pass my test I was also sad that my lessons were over.

Fantastic experience: Yes he is very tough but he is a very good instructor. He is quite frank and actually wants you to be a safe driver. I actually feel ready to drive on my own now that I have passed. He is not for everyone, if you want to be cuddled up you should look elsewhere but if you want to pass and be a good driver I can’t recommend him enough.

Negative experience: Not recommended at all. Very aggressive and impatient behavior specially when it was close to my test which ruined all my confidence. The manoeuver that I was tested for was “pull up on the right-hand side of the road, reverse for 2 car lengths and rejoin the traffic” Which he had not talked about even ONE SINGLE word!! I would have had no chance of passing the test if I accidentally hadn’t come across this manoeuver in YouTube videos two days before my test and hadn’t practiced with my husband’s car. I didn’t tell him anything about this as I really didn’t want to make myself nervous on the day of my test. And now I see he has proudly put my photo on his Facebook page!!. He is even worse when it comes to money, he asked me to pay in advance for a block of 10 hours which includes 7 hours lesson and 3 hours for using his car on the test day. Some of our lessons were 1 hour instead of 1/5 hours (this was all his decisions as it suited his schedule and I never asked for shorter lessons) At the end, he only covered 6/5 hours instead of 7 hours. I expected him to refund that 30 minutes simply because he has to be committed to his promise especially when people trust him and pay all the money in advance. But unfortunately when I asked for the refund he simply refused he says when you pay for 10 hours there is no refund! Go and read terms and conditions!! apparently terms and conditions of this company do not compel the instructor to finish the amount of hours that he has been paid for. By the way that was the second 10 hours that I’m talking about and I was driving for 8 years before coming to the UK so don’t assume that you can pass the test only with 7 hours of practice.

Fantastic experience: I just passed my driving test last Friday. A big thanks to Fikret for helping me along the way. I promised him an honest review so here it is.. PROS: *Fikret has great road awareness and driving skills which he is willing to share with you. *I have been learning using his manual Peugeot 308 which is great handling wise! I can't stress this out better! Plus the electronic parking brake is a bonus!! *He is a very honest man. I overpaid him for my first few lessons and he did inform me about it immediately. *When doing your lessons with Fikret he does try his best to accommodate your lessons based on your availability. This is perfect for people who have full time jobs. Just be straight to him about which times and days you can do. *He gives very honest feedbacks about your driving skills but does give you autonomy in deciding when you want to take the test. CONS: *Fikret is a big man with a big voice. This might be intimidating at first but if you stick with him you will find out it is just the way he is and you'll eventually get used to it. Saying this he also knows how to talk in a mild manner but I guess you have to tell him straight up which I never bothered asking because I am not really that easy to get intimidated. *Because he treats all the lessons quite seriously you will sometimes get sarcastic feedbacks from him especially if he feels that you have silly questions. *He might come in late for lessons but does extend your lesson to accommodate the time lost. *Only thing that really irritated me early on during my lessons are the small random stops we had to do because of some personal matter he needed to do. It happened only around 3 times so not that bad. In the end, I had Fikret as my only instructor until getting a passing mark because of the ease in booking lessons with him and his car is really great to drive handling wise! This man is earning an honest living and like most of us comes with flaws but really I can't fault him as a driving instructor. Just listen, observe and learn.

Easy to get along with but most importantly he is very patient and explains things in a calm and assured manner. I have only driven around 20 hrs with him and i already feel confident that i'm nearly ready to pass my test. Would recommend him 100% !

Fantastic experience: First time PASS with the excellent coaching and mentoring from experienced trainer - Mr. Fikret Kanlic..... I already new driving (thats what I thought), so opted for 7 classes to get some practical experience on london roads and was confident to drive away, but when started driving, the trainer noticed and pointed my mistakes, - so then i realized, unknowingly I was making so many mistakes - as they say - learning completely new could be easy BUT unlearning is very difficult and takes time. so 7 classes were not enough and trainer suggested I take further more 7 classes - (obviously for my own good) - I completely agreed that I was not ready for practicals so went for it...trust me those additional sessions made me more confident and helped me clear my test at first attempt !!!!!!!! so,.. my advice to people - listen to the trainer and don't risk your test if not ready - all that matters is passing the test and then being safe & responsible on the roads for life !!!!!! if you planning to learn or take classes - go for Fikret !!! he is an awesome trainer !!!!
