Hi, I'm Ali. I have been a driving instructor since 2004. I'm fully qualified and registered with the driver and vehicle standards agency as an approved driving instructor (DVSA ADI).
I am based in Glenrothes, and offer automatic driving lessons in the Central Fife area, using the Kirkcaldy test centre.
With busier roads and stop start traffic in towns and cities, more people are seeing the benefits of automatic cars. Manufacturers are offering an automatic version of almost every model, giving drivers a choice.
The added benefit learning in an Auto, it usually takes half the time.
Automatic one to one tuition is carried out in a comfortable, user friendly BMW 118d, 2 litre M-sport, Shadow Edition, which pupils very quickly begin to love.

Thank you for your 5 star review. Your years of experience back home gave you the basic skills. However driving on the other side of the road is a bit different, as you discovered. Fantastic experience: I want to put this review up because Ali is such a great driving instructor so calm and even if you don't understand something don't be afraid to say as there is not a wrong answer when you are a learner I had only a short time with Ali but the time I did have with him he made me feel test ready and today I passed my test thanks to Ali for everything you done for me and all that knowledge I have soaked it up and everything is inplanted now a gem of a man thankyou x

Fantastic experience: I’ve been able to pass first time within 3-4 months thanks to Ali. He is very patient and explains everything so well and thoroughly. He is also incredibly calm even with the horrible mistakes I made throughout my journey of driving. His methods and tips are incredibly helpful and made driving seem so easy and fun at the same time. I’m mostly going to miss listening to his funny stories about his other students, but thank you so so much again Ali.

As for the " horrible mistakes" , everybody has them. The important thing is to learn from them and move on, not dwell and get bogged down with frustration and upset. But by listening to my guidance, and putting it into practice, you got there in the end. A really good performance for your examiner when it counted, even though you were so nervous. I enjoyed teaching you to drive, from your love of "tootling" along on the country roads, to blasting down the A92 doing overtakes. I knew you were capable of passing. You proved you could do everything required, just needed to do everything on the same day. Those couple of midweek parking lessons helped you to believe it was possible to pass. Feeling sick, lack of sleep, extremely nervous and doubting yourself, turned into one very happy woman, passing before your big birthday. Fantastic experience: I moved from overseas 2.5 years ago. Coming to the UK to learn to drive on the other side of the road is challenging, but after my first lesson with Ali I gained my confidence back. Fantastic experience: I was incredibly nervous trusting myself to learn to drive especially after a previously bad experience. I explained my situation to Ali and how I learn best and he took them into consideration and turned me from a nervous driver to somebody who passed their test first time. He's really patient and takes the time to explain things.

Fantastic experience: I started learning to drive with Ali in January and I can’t thank him enough for getting me passed so much faster and efficiently than I could ever have thought. When I couldn’t understand things or needed them explained a different way he would find a way that was better suited for me to understand what he was meaning in his explanations which helped massively. Fantastic experience: First time pass would of never done it without Ali. I had been with other instructors but was still full of anxiety and uncertainty and felt I was never progressing but Ali changed this for sure. From day one Ali made me feel comfortable and at ease and understood my anxiety and did everything he could to work with it in a way that's best for me. Letting me go at my own pace of learning but always so supportive and giving me a push where he knew I was capable being firm but also fair. Ali gave me extra time aswell with my learning when was able to do when he had the odd cancellation happened. Having Ali as my instructor was the best recommendation I had been given and can't thank him enough for how well he supported my learning and understanding my difficulties. He put me at total ease and I feel I would never of passed within the month starting with Ali. Can't recommend enough.

Fantastic experience: Ali was an excellent instructor, a very technical teacher, patient understanding. Even on test day when things where going very badly and I was ready to give up before the test, he knew what to say to get me motivated and I got through it. Having failed the test 3 times previously in an manual, I passed with no minors in less than 4 months with Ali. Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Where to even start, I had put off driving for years, due to being overly anxious and scared. I decided automatic was the way to go for me. The first ever lesson I had with Ali I knew I had picked the right instructor for me. I immediately felt right at ease, he explained everything he was doing right from the get go. I even managed to successfully drive home on that first lesson. I knew then that I was going to be fine. Alis calm and patient demeanour allowed me to feel calm whilst driving, if I made a mistake he calmly explained where I went wrong. I never felt any pressure when making any errors, he just explained how to do it right the next time. Going over manoeuvres until I felt comfortable doing them. I honestly wouldn't have been able to do it without his guidance and support. I would highly recommend him to anyone who feels at all anxious about starting. I was completely terrified at the start, I had a few different instructors over the years but never managed to gain the confidence I needed after a few lessons with Ali that completely changed. You took on board the information you didn't understand, worked on it, put it all together, and on the day successfully passed you test. Remember everything you we're taught, and stay safe out there on the roads by yoursellf.
Fantastic experience: Ali is so great as an instructor! I drove in America for approx 7 years and needed to switch to a UK licence after taking a break for a few years. It was quite daunting trying to drive again after so long but Ali is so patient and I passed my test today first time with no minors! Would recommend Ali to anyone wanting to learn how to drive an automatic car in the UK - couldn't recommend highly enough! Thank you Ali!!

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Ali highly enough! As an American driver switching to a UK license, I was very nervous about learning a whole new system of driving! Ali was very patient and incredibly knowledgeable, and thanks to him I passed the test on my first try! I learned far more from Ali in the few lessons I had with him, than I did in 9 years of driving in the States. I feel so much more confident now about driving in the UK! Thank you so much Ali! :D
