Negative experience: Not recommended. very poor experience. Their instructor (roderick stubbs) taught me nothing and charged me for 02 classes. Above that the instructor was behaving very controlling and shackled my confidence. It seem't like he himself know nothing. In 2hr class he only let me deive for 10 mins. Upon complaint their staff said we can not do anything about this. I explained them what happened to me and i asked for reimbursement but their response was cold. total Wastage of money. I am sorry for this review but that's what happened with me.They are lying in response!

Fantastic experience: Just passed my test with Shawn. Want to give a big thanks to Demi and Shawn This was my 3rd Attempt But they didnt lose confidence on me. Never felt like an outsider, felt like I am taking lesson with my friend. Demi went above and beyond, even took me to bury st edmunds just for my first test, unfortunately as she wasnt available I took Shawn to this test after having only 6 lessons with him. Couldn’t have asked for better people. May Allah bless you guys, thank you very much for all the laugh,time and putting a big smile on my families' face.

Negative experience: Very poor driving school who will let you down when it comes to your test! They all talk rubbish & waste your money. Don’t bother.

Fantastic experience: I had Kieran bass as my instructor from start to finish, as someone who initially started driving not very confident, Kieran’s professionalism and patience allowed me to gain the confidence I needed to learn. It’s clear kieran has tons of experience on the road, and without his experience, professional advice and tips, I would not have been able to pass my exam, Cannot recommend enough

Negative experience: Helen Prentice used terms like the 'fence' for the middle of the road and shouting 'drive drive drive' when I was driving leaving myself unsettled and confused to what i was meant to be doing. Several conversations between us left me questioning myself as to if i had done the right or wrong thing and sometimes an awkward silence. There was only one way of reverse parking 'her way or no way'. This took nearly a lesson to understand and would not be changed to an alternative method. Helen was helpful to book a test and encourage me to bring it forward. This was then asked to be cancelled due one bad lesson where she was occupied on her phone rushing me to get to a test that day. She told me to get a bike for my independence and you can drive ok in straight line. Not an encouraging person who will wait for you to contact her and has not the empathy or attitude to go through the challenges with students. Helen has focused mindset not an open one which will not suit drivers who have particular learning styles.

Negative experience: Its about Bensons Braintree The driving instructor.. Keiran Bass .. had been giving me classes and just few days from my exam date he says doesn’t want to give his car .. very disrespectful to your money time and commitment.. leaving me more nervous and worried about the test.. They just wants money from the students and even if they see u progressing .. this how they try to pull you backwards.. I would never recommend them

Negative experience: Bensons Sudbury driving instructors is one of the most unprofessional instructors I have had. My instructor cancelled two of my tests, the first was due to his car being in the garage. Although this doesn’t seem to bad he claimed he had this booked in months in advance yet failed to tell me until it was too late to cancel. After this his car was still not working properly meaning I often had to floor it before the car even started to go anywhere. The second time he cancelled the day before due to stress and inability to reschedule his calendar. I will never be able to be reimbursed for the time and money lost. His communication and level of professionalism was just as bad as he was constantly late to lessons and often ignored my messages and calls when trying to book a lesson and or test. I would avoid this instructor based in Sudbury.

Negative experience: If I could leave minus stars I would .. instructor (I assume as was the only person in the car) completely wrong laned on a roundabout .. and totally oblivious to the carnage they left in their wake!! If this is the standard of "instruction" I worry for the safety of our roads in future and for the safety of any pupils in their care

Negative experience: Really bad company. Rude and untrained instructors who don’t know that if you pull out on another road user and they need to decelerate DO THAT IN A TEST AND THAT IS A FAILURE. INSTRUCTOR DIDINT KNOW THAT.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely Cannot fault the teeaching from mark at bensons, brilliant down to earth guy very easy to learn with was worth every penny.

Fantastic experience: Could not ask for a better service, easy to book lessons and my driving instructor (Jacky) was absolutely fantastic, great communication and makes you feel at ease when your feeling the pressure of learning to drive.. take my word for it, OUTSTANDING!! I passed my practical test today with zero minors and of course no majors. Can't thank Benson's and especially Jacky enough and would recommend them to anyone who wants to take the pain out of learning to drive.

Fantastic experience: Gavin Leech was such an amazing teacher with the added banter had so much laughs. I spent 30 hours with Gavin in a space of 4 weeks and he managed to work around suitable lessons for me without no issues. Due to my theory expiring soon I had to cramp my lessons in a short period, however the end result was a successful one. Gavin is always punctual and has never cancelled which I have always found with other instructors in the past. His encouragement & also trust helped me get into a place I felt comfortable. This had so much to do with Gavin’s continued patience with me and that put me at ease, and as an anxious student this was exactly the kind of reassurance I needed. I couldn’t believe I only passed with 4 minors! Fully recommend Gavin Leech & Bensons. Reputable, reliable, professional & patient with even the most worried of first-time drivers. For anyone learning automatic in the Braintree/Chelmsford area I’d fully recommend for a great instructor and driving school, especially during Covid everything was done to put pupils at ease whilst following safety precautions. I wish Gavin all the best in the future and I am very confident that you will not be disappointed if you learn from Gavin from Bensons.

Negative experience: Young driving instructor indicating the wrong way at a roundabout then beeped at me for pulling forward to enter the roundabout and added a lovely gesture to go with it. Not the best image for your company.
