Lessons are easy to schedule and there's always flexibility; my lessons ranged between an hour and a half to six hours. I'd never sat in a driver's seat before, but thanks to Chris's instruction, patience, experience, knowledge and friendliness I passed first time. Chris will never shout, he will offer you freedom in your lessons to develop the driving skills you want to learn in addition to what needs to be learnt. This means you will come out of your lessons as an individual who is not only able to pass a test, but you will be a safe driver who is able to handle all kinds of situations when out on the road. You will be ready for anything! For me this meant driving routes that were not on the test but would be common in my day to day life, it meant learning additional manoeuvres that did not appear on the test and it also meant I was able to dedicate time to areas I was most concerned with such as roundabouts and the dual carriageways. Chris is able to adapt to different learning styles and will always answer or signpost to great learning resources for additional questions/queries between lessons and will advise you of an excellent learning tool to pass your theory test. I cannot thank Chris enough.

From the very first lesson to the moment I passed my driving test, Chris demonstrated unparalleled professionalism, patience, and expertise. I travelled from London staying near Herne Bay for a 25 hour intensive course, and thanks to his guidance and support, I passed my test with without any faults on the first attempt. Fantastic experience: Chris is a brilliant driving instructor. I was an older, very nervous learner and I had such a positive experience all the way through with him – not only did I learn to drive I also enjoyed it! He is extremely professional, knowledgeable, experienced and enthusiastic and what really set him apart for me was his coaching ability – for example when I was struggling with a manoeuvre, he would take the time to break down what exactly it was about the manoeuvre I was struggling with and how we could find a way that made sense to me so I could successfully carry it out. He always stayed calm, had that all important sense of humour when required and showed tremendous patience with my endless questions! I felt he paced the lessons just right for me, so I was steadily building experience and gaining in confidence. He rightly places high emphasis on safety at all times, which kept me reassured, whilst at the right pace developing you into an independent driver and thinking for yourself rather than learning ‘by rote’. This approach is also evident in his excellent admin - he promptly responded to my initial enquiry with honest timeframes about when he would be able to start lessons with me, he devised a learning timeframe based on my initial lesson with him and my test date which proved impressively accurate, he always sent friendly text reminders ahead of each lesson and he was always on time for every lesson. I believe he offers excellent value for money for the quality of instruction you receive and he certainly does not try to put in any more lessons than you need or want. I passed first time with 2 minors and this was due to Chris’ excellent instruction and skill at getting you thoroughly ready for the practical test, including taking a mock test in one of your lessons beforehand, which really helps. Thanks for turning me into a driver Chris!

Fantastic experience: Chris was the best driving instructor I have had. As an older learner who had done some lessons sporadically over the last 20 years he had a fairly unique challenge. He was able to address learnt behaviours and bring me up to speed. Chris is patient, knowledgeable and emphasises safety. He kept a detailed record of my progress and had a clear focus to every lesson. With his guidance I was able to pass on my first test (ignoring the ones I took 20 years ago!). Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Chris enough! I was very nervous to start driving, but Chris was always calm, never rushing me and helped me grow in confidence and pass. The teaching was paced to exactly what I needed; I never felt dropped in something I couldn't do, and never felt like I was lingering on something more than I needed to, and could always go over anything I didn't feel I had gotten down. Chris has been really flexible and accommodating changes , and throughout all the turbulence of Covid has just been brilliant and consistent. I have happily passed and would recommend him to anyone I knew!

Fantastic experience: Well, what can I say? To start with Chris helped me achieve a first time pass! He always had time for myself and other students; during the pandemic he was always as flexible as possible and as patient as ever. I’ve previously had a couple hours with other instructors and his teaching style is by far the best. Before passing I had already recommended my partner to have a refresher lesson and she equally had a great time. Simply, I would hands down recommend Chris to any learner or anyone needing a refresher!

Fantastic experience: First-time pass! I originally went to Chris with the intent to pass in an automatic as I'd become a nervous driver from a previous instructor - my brain went into overload when trying to change gears and focus on everything else. After a few lessons, Chris had improved my confidence so much that I decided to swap back to a manual. Chris is always super calm and works at your learning speed. He is great with anxious drivers and is always happy to answer questions, no matter how silly. There aren't multiple acronyms to memorise (like many of the chain/bigger companies) as you learn everything naturally as you progress through your lessons. I can't recommend Emerald School Of Motoring enough! Thank you for all your help!

Fantastic experience: I passed my test first time with two minors a month ago now and I have to say that my confidence on the road since is all down to Chris and his wonderful experienced teaching. Each lesson was tailored to myself, what we both felt I needed to work on and his honesty and trust in myself as a learner driver made each and every lesson enjoyable, relaxing and effective in terms of my ability to drive. He is teaching driving the best way as he can assess the individual’s ability. He is comprehending what way is adequately for new learners. In short and sweet I like to give him more the 5stars.

Fantastic experience: Chris was a fantastic driving instructor for my son Oliver. Being away at school during the week and not available every weekend, Chris planned the lessons around Oliver and was really flexible where he could be! I was amazed how quickly Oliver progressed, bearing in mind he had no practice in between lessons and sometimes, weeks between them due to his timetable. Well done Chris for getting him through it first time. I will definitely be using Chris for my other two sons and wont hesitate to recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Although I'd had many lessons in a manual car, I was always crunching my way through the gears so decided I was going to go down the automatic route. I called Chris and booked a week intensive course starting on the Monday with my test on the Friday. Chris made me feel very relaxed from the get go and by Wednesday said he was convinced I was ready to pass my test. A couple more days and a couple more teacakes later I had passed my driving test with two minors. That was 12 years ago. Thanks to Chris and his help, being able to drive has changed my life from my job to relocating from Kent to Chesterfield. I cannot thank him enough or recommend him enough. Thanks Chris.
