Fantastic experience: I booked a week long intensive course for my 17 year old son. I was amazed how quickly he gained knowledge and confidence under the guidance of instructor John Collins. My son has now passed his test and is a good and safe driver. Highly recommend this Driving School.

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend John enough! From day one John struck a brilliant balance of building my confidence while also focusing on the skills required to pass my test. John is calm, kind and professional. He knows the test routes like the back of his hand and all the nuances involved to pass your test. I came to driving a little later than some so was worried about the whole process, but John put me at ease and I passed with flying colours first time!

Fantastic experience: When I first began driving, it was with a different instructor, and we parted ways due to their frequent, short-notice cancellations and lack of communication. I took a significant break between ending lessons with them and finding a new instructor, and thus was nervous when I began taking lessons with John at A New Start Driving School. Reader, there was no need to fear. John is, without a doubt, one of the best instructors in Belfast. He responded to my initial queries very quickly, and found me a slot as soon as he could. Our first lesson put my mind instantly at ease, and thanks to his guidance, driving soon became something fun and enjoyable instead of anxiety-inducing and worrisome. John is a very calm and reassuring instructor, and gave me honest and timely feedback on where I was going wrong and where I was going right, and how test-ready I was - not to mention he knows the test routes and major/minor faults like the back of his hand. Our lesson slot remained largely the same each week, but were easily changed if needed, and with plenty of notice in advance. Thanks to John, I passed my driving test first time with very minimal nerves, and had great craic during each and every lesson. I cannot recommend him and A New Start highly enough. Fantastic experience: My daughter looked forward to her lessons each week and quickly gained confidence. She was able to practice in my car a bit but only started weekly lessons at the end of June and passed her test at first sitting yesterday. John was encouraging calm and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: Hi John – Thanks a lot for your lessons, support & guidance, otherwise passing the test in first attempt wouldn’t have been so easy. John’s methods of teaching are unique, He is calm & patient but very persistent in making us correct our mistakes, His analysis/evaluation towards a student is very precise on their skills to trains them accordingly. He motivates and guides students by allowing them to correct their mistake repeatedly. I was only able to pass the test based on all valuable lessons and repeated mentoring from John. If you do want to learn proper driving, he is the one for you and I am pretty sure you will see a good results in the first attempt - if John teaches you driving :) - Gautham

I needed to resit my test after a ban, I had 18 years of bad habits but John got them filtered out and I passed in 3 days with 3 lessons with not even 1 single driving fault! Kept me informed at every turn and gave precise and clear instruction and examples. So happy to be back on the road again!
