Fantastic experience: I was struggling to get over the line with my test. But by getting lessons from 1st gear I was able to pass after only a few lessons. The car is great and the lessons are very in depth and prepare you massively for the actual test

Fantastic experience: This is a very excellent driving school in Bedford. The instructor AJ is very professional. He will give explanations/feedbacks/advices on how to be a very good UK driver not only for the practical exam purpose but even afterwards. He helped in minimising 'bad driving habits' one may have accumulated from driving before. The car used for the lessons is equipped with fixtures that makes the driving easier. It is always clean and ready for the student's lesson. The routes used in the lessons basically simulates what the exam would be. The mock practical test that AJ gives included manoeuvre/challenges that are highly going to be required in the actual test. Knowing the feedbacks he gave during the mock tests and the advices helped in being a bit relaxed during the actual exam and getting a PASS (for the first time). I would highly recommend this driving school! Kudos, AJ and the 1st Gear Driving school team!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with 1st Gear Driving School. They are well equipped and geared towards giving learners all that is required to drive safely as well as pass UK DVLA practical driving tests.

Negative experience: Avoid if you can. It's more of a time wasting lesson. Unless you have money to waste listening to the Instructor Amjad talk over and over again, instead of doing the actual driving lessons. The lessons are more or less about you spending your entire money and life. The instructor is too repetitive his talks. He says same thing over and over again. Instead of you learning the driving itself, you will spend almost all your booked hours listening to him repeat what he has been saying over and over. I believe it's just a time wasting mechanism. Like I said, unless you have money to pay to listen to someone talk, then avoid them if possible. EDIT: The company has responded to me and added that the instructor advised me to continue taking lessons despite having gotten a test date. That's not a problem for me. But they've failed to address my concern about the Instructor's time wasting mechanisms. The instructor will deliberately keep wasting your time during lessons so you don't learn as much as you can during your booked hours. If it was supposed to take you 10hrs to cover basic and essential lessons, the instructor will deliberately make the lessons take 15 to 20hrs. It's a money making technique for them, not really about you learning how to drive. They want to squeeze the last drop of quid from your wallet. AVOID THEM.

Negative experience: Had to stop lessons with AJ. Unfortunately, he used to waste so much time writing things on paper and less time actually letting me drive. Sometimes he would also stop lessons earlier than the 1 or 2 hour slot booked. I just don't understand what the need is to keep stopping, taking the check list out and ticking things off!!! Just do it at the end of the lesson, not making me wait 10 minutes every so often. I also couldn't understand him half the time. I booked with another instructor and learnt much better and faster without all the time and money wasted.

Fantastic experience: I am a foreigner because I need to come to the UK for work. Driving on the right is really confusing to me. It is completely different from my country. When I every time driving to round about is really difficult for me. I do n 't know when to turn on the lights. This instructor explained me many times with patience, because I was not used to driving around about, and I forgot to turn left when I went out every time. It was really difficult. My English was not good. He helped me a lot and didn't waste it. My learning time drove me into a driving state very quickly. I was lucky that I could pass the exam soon. Of course, I knew that this was inseparable from the serious help of this instructor. Thank you very much.

Positive experience: Quite a good instructor, plenty of helpful extra tips beyond the standard driving procedures on how to positions, easy methods of recalling where and when to move and such. Sometimes felt a little harsh, which can be good but also might be less encouraging if thin skinned. Always punctual and on time.

Negative experience: Rude illegible instructor, Spent hundreds and hundreds and made effort to travel closer to pickup for lessons and failed three times and tells me I’m taking too long and to do it in my own car. Took the test in my own car and passed first time. Goes to show you don’t get taught anything and the second you take it into your own hands you pass ‍♀️ Saved money my way and if I’d of taken test again with him I’d still be trying to pass. Big up my car and me

Negative experience: I am a little nervous type of learner, I had lessons with AJ and he was patient and I have learned a lot. However I failed on my driving test which, can happen to anybody. we talked about it and he told me that is reflect on him bad I did not pass for the first time. We also agreed when I back from my holiday get few more lessons and do the test again. When I came back I called him then text him I`m back and asked for when we can start lessons. He did not called me or text me back and that`s happened in June!!! So I`m not really recommend him at all to anyone

Negative experience: Awful. - Amjad was very condescending and patronising. Very rude and made me feel very uncomfortable which made me lose focus during my lessons. Never once motivated me or said one good thing during our lessons and constantly spoke negatively and very sarcastically - not professional at all. Do not recommend.
