Fantastic experience: I couldn’t recommend anyone more than Matt as a driving instructor. I initially wanted to get driving over and done with as fast as I could but Matt helped me to realise patience is key and it is a marathon not a sprint, and taught me mistakes were okay, and just a part of the learning processs. This made me feel comfortable and confident on the roads and allowed me to adjust at my own speed. He was easy and friendly to talk to, and this took the tension and ease of the pressure of driving. He reassured me when I felt uneasy, ensuring I never felt as if I was not good enough to drive and challenging my self- doubts. On the day of my exam he was by my side, and kept me calm and I believe all these attributes is what has made me the safe, comfortable driver I am today. Thank you Matt! It wouldn’t have been possible without you.

Fantastic experience: What an absolutely unbelievable instructor Matt has been! Matt taught me in such a simple and effective way that not only was I able to pass my driving test first time, I was able to grow into the safest driver I could’ve become. Im very grateful for all the time and the lengths he went too to help me progress not just as a driver, but also as a person. For anyone who is worried or anxious about getting on the road (like I was), I cannot recommend learning with MCB Driver Training enough.

Fantastic experience: I used to be such an anxious driver, and dreaded the thought of sitting behind the wheel, but with Matt at MCB Driver Training I haven’t felt more confident! Matt is very patient and really helped me calm my nerves. He takes it at your pace as the learner and never pressures you to do anything you’re not comfortable with. Fantastic experience: Learning to drive with Matt at MCB Driver Training has been an absolute delight: you actually learn the skills needed to drive and not just how to pass a test! You learn where to look to understand drivers around you, and how to be a conscious driver, all whilst having fun. Throughout my time learning with Matt, he ensured he was always available for any questions or extra support I needed (only a message away), and that I understood the "why" behind much of driving practice and theory. Lessons are 1hr and 30 mins, so you get a great amount of quality learning time with an instructor to ask questions, practice, and banter before going back home. Matt was always so patient and supportive, even while we laughed and joked he made sure that I was feeling confident in what we had just been practicing before moving on, and tailoring every lesson to suit the way I learn, and my personal progress. I always looked forward to my lessons, and now that I have passed my test (first time!!) I can say I will miss them! I was very anxious about the idea of learning to drive initially, I was a late learner, and had some people tell me I would never be able to drive based on my health and anxiety. However, living in this area you really need to drive to get to many places, and without this ability I felt trapped and entirely reliant on others. After an initial conversation with Matt, he promised he could help me, and he kept that promise. Now I know I can move on to be fully independent, and feel confident on the roads and in the skills Matt helped me develop. Thank you! ~Now, for a review of Matt himself (also 5 *****): You can tell Matt puts so much care and effort into teaching his students: the amount of investment he gives to us all as individuals and not just as the anonymous group of "learner drivers" is a testament to his quality as a teacher. Members of my own family had teachers who shouted at them when they learnt to drive, which honestly made me a bit stressed to imagine. However, Matt never shouts at his students (even when he has to slam his foot on the emergency brake or you swerve to avoid a pigeon), and always felt like a friend who was there to guide me, and keep things as engaging and understandable as possible. He's always up for a laugh, and is great to talk to. When you get into a car to drive with Matt, you know you are with someone you can trust and someone you can trust to teach you well. You become a team: both working towards the end goal of you becoming a (fully licensed) excellent driver. Thanks for being an incredible teacher and a friend to me these past months, Matt - I'll always be incredibly grateful. Fantastic experience: Matt's a brilliant driving instructor who goes above and beyond to ensure the success of his students. I've thoroughly enjoyed the way in which he approaches teaching. His calm and patient manor paired with his sense of humour meant that learning became something that I actually looked forward to each week! To say that he went beyond and above is an understatement. After I had to cancel my test due to loosing my provisional license, he spent many hours of his own time searching for tests for me, quite often late at night and early in the morning. This act of kindness is something that I will never forget. He's not only a great instructor but also a really genuine person who has a passion for what he does. I would one hundred percent recommend him to anyone and yet again thank you Matt for the first time pass!

At the start I was a very anxious driver doing manual, and he helped me realise that automatic would help my nerves as I would have less to worry about, and he was right. As a mum of a teenage son learning to drive truly terrified me ( I’m sure many parents can relate) Matt was always there to reassure but most importantly has taught my son to drive safely and confidently. Matt has supported us through the whole journey from theory test to practical examination. He’s an expert in his field and identified gaps in my son’s knowledge and went above and beyond to fill prepare him for his test. Fantastic experience: Matt took me on as a qualified driver who was very nervous and not confident /very good as I hadn’t driven for around 7 years. We spent six hours practicing the routes I needed and he taught me key safe practices and gave me tips on how to overcome nerves. As someone who is in my early 30s who doesn’t “love” driving but really needs to do it, Matt was the perfect teacher - patient, great at chatting and very supportive.
