Fantastic experience: HIGHLY RECOMMEND Trevor/Lazer School of Motoring. I had a bad experience with a previous instructor and when I started with Trevor my confidence was low. Trevor and I very quickly clicked and got on so well. He is firm when he needs to be but he is also patient and kind. Having a toddler, a full time job and learning to drive was a challenge but he got me through it and I passed FIRST time. I will be forever grateful to Trevor for everything he taught me - I feel confident to drive safely anywhere with my kids in the car which is all I ever wanted.

Fantastic experience: I have thought long and hard about how I’d best like to summarise my experience learning with Trevor and the Lazer School Of Motoring, and I think it can most appropriately be summed up with the below. I am more gutted about not getting the opportunity to see Trevor as frequently anymore, than I am thrilled to have passed my Driving Test with only 1 minor! That says it all really, Trevor is a one in a million character, the last of a truly dying breed of which the world desperately needs more of! His expertise and professionalism too at what it is that he does is simply off the charts, over 40 years of experience is all you need to know! Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Lazer Driving School enough! I had never driven before and honestly never even considered myself as someone who could be a driver. However, thanks to my incredible instructor, Trevor, I passed my driving test on the first attempt with just 2 minor faults! Trevor is an exceptionally experienced and patient instructor. He made every lesson feel approachable and never made me feel bad for making mistakes—he used them as opportunities for learning. His calm and encouraging attitude built my confidence every step of the way. What stood out the most is that Trevor didn’t just prepare me to pass the test—he taught me the skills to be a safe and confident driver for life. Fantastic experience: id give 10 stars if I could unfortunately i had my license revoked and after a two year gap contacted Trevor to teach to me drive again the difference between lazer and my previous driving school is substantial taugh me things I had no idea about he teaches you to drive not just pass a test also got me a first time pass really nice man and pleasure to have been taught by thanks alot

Fantastic experience: Passed first time with 2 minors thanks to an excellent instructor. Trevor is an outstanding instructor, he doesn’t just understand the technical side of learning to drive but also the psychological side. As a result, he understands his pupils and the specific aspects of learning to drive they struggle with. I would recommend him to anyone, I felt hardly any pressure in my test due to the level of preparation in lessons.

Fantastic experience: Trevor is truly in my opinion the best instructor in Brentwood & Essex because, I struggled for years to learn how to drive. I went through 4 different instructors over the years and I just couldn’t get the hang of it. Trevor changed everything. I had taken a year from learning how to drive as i had fell ill with cancer and after beating it i had terrible anxiety issues. Trevor would calm me down before every lesson. Chat to me and take my mind off the anxiety and completely changed my perspective on driving. He is not only my instructor but a mentor and friend. I truly thought I would never pass my test but here I am today after passing my test. Words cannot describe the happiness I'm feeling after today. Trevor is kind, understanding, patient, very honest. And genuinely cares about making his students pass and not only teaching you how to pass but teaches you how drive and teaches you the mentality of a great driver. Trevor provides students with the best cars to learn in. I started in Manuel and then changed to automatic. Both cars were exceptional. I cannot recommend this man enough.

Fantastic experience: I have previously had a bad experience back home with driving so relearning how to drive in the UK was pretty nerve wracking. From the get-go, Trevor was patient and encouraging. He always explained/corrected errors in a way that was firm whilst not making you feel awful. His ethos is to teach you how to read the road/drive safely, as opposed to just simply focussing on passing the test. He works very hard to get his pupils to a high standard and is punctual to lessons. He also tries to accommodate for his pupils' busy schedules (this is coming from someone who works shift patterns). Today, I passed my test on the first go with only 2 minor faults. If that's not a testament to his standard of teaching, then I don't know what is. To anyone who's looking for a driving instructor, pick Trevor because he will get you there and you will not be disappointed. Plus, he has some pretty good jokes to crack in the car that will keep you grinning (even if you are feeling nervous)!

Fantastic experience: Great service which helps pupils to pass a test with no problem. Although driving can be tough, Lazer makes it much more simple than it looks, teaching methods which make taking your test less daunting and more relaxed.

Fantastic experience: Trevor doesn't just teach you how to pass your test, he teaches you how to drive. Prior to meeting Trevor, I'd had three years of driving lessons and failed four tests. On my first test I hit a bus. No, really. On my fourth test I bashed into a width limit. I gave up on learning to drive for years after that. At some point I realised I couldn't live my entire life unable to drive and got in touch with Lazer School of Motoring. Trevor took me from crashing into stationary objects to passing my test with 0 minors in less than a year! He's a very calm and understanding teacher. Also very funny. He crosses himself when you do something silly (I got a lot of that). He tells the most interesting stories. He's also well-versed in dealing with student anxiety. As a naturally anxious person, his advice on how to deal with it was essential to my learning to drive.

Fantastic experience: After some trial and error with previous instructors I began to feel like I was getting nowhere, until I found Lazer school of motoring. Trev became not only my instructor but also a friend, and helped me progress massively from being a nervous driver to a confident, accurate driver and passing my test. I have been in and out of lessons for a few years before I met Trevor and I couldn’t have been happier when I first met him. Fantastic experience: Passed my first practical with 2 minors at Chelmsford. Trevor's methods may not suit some but if you're willing to work to his schedule and fix every little thing he mentions, it is more than likely that you will pass your practical on 'auto pilot'.

Fantastic experience: I passed my (first time) test in Brentwood today, with only 1 minor. I can undoubtedly say that it wouldn’t have been possible without Trevor. The past few months have been life-changing! The style of teaching that he implements separates him from other instructors (I learnt with a few reputable driving schools before moving to Brentwood) and everything he does is done with integrity. His patience and care allowed me to build the foundations to drive with confidence. Each lesson was bespoke and Trevor always made sure to identify my strengths and areas of improvement. I never once felt belittled or incapable as Trevor’s style of communication is very open and informative. Fantastic experience: I’ve had the pleasure of having Trevor as my driving instructor this past year, and after a lot of hard work he managed to get me to a standard of driving where I passed with 0 minors in Brentwood! I can’t recommend him enough. He is patient, encouraging, not too serious, and pushes his students to be better drivers. At the start of my process with him, I had low confidence and some anxiety around driving, and he really took this into consideration when planning lessons, teaching in a way that best fit the way I learn and my emotion-run driving! He truly cares for his students puts a lot of effort in, for example calling DVSA for weeks to get me an earlier test because he had confidence in my ability. Fantastic experience: I started taking lessons with Trevor early december 2022. Previously, I had around 6 lessons with another instructor but was mainly practicing with my parents. In just an hour with Trevor, I learnt the “pull push” method to steer successfully and actually began to assess roads. Trevor is a great guide even when I was actually afraid of driving. Now I enjoy driving! Now i’ve passed looking back i really needed to listen to Trevor a LOT more, i shouldn’t have rushed tests just taken my time. However, learning with Trevor made driving easier. I couldn’t recommend Lazer enough!

Fantastic experience: I passed my test first time this week after learning to drive with with Trevor! It's been an amazing and very rewarding experience, Trevor is very dedicated to his craft and very professional in his approach to how he tailors his skills and knowledge to the individual. I had around 6 lessons with a different instructor previously as I lived in London before I moved to Essex, so I gave Trevor a call and luckily managed to get started straight away. The difference I noticed after my first lesson was completely next level compared to my last instructor, I came to find out I wasn't taught a lot of the basics and fundamentals from the off, but Trevor explained, made me feel comfortable and made my lessons much more effeciant by meticulously teaching the skills needed to drive properly and safely. Not only is Trev a great instructor, he also has a great sense of humour which really helps when you're under pressure or having an off day which takes the strain off massively! Daniel C

Fantastic experience: I passed my test at the first attempt. You may think that is what you pay an instructor for but it isnt. Having had experience with some of the well known driving schools, I can honestly say there is no comparison. Trevor teaches you how to drive. If you listen and take on board his observations and recommendations, you will learn how to navigate the roads safely and everything will fall into place for you, just like it did for me. That is the hallmark of a great driving instructor. Do not be in a rush to pass your test and be wary of driving schools who market themselves on their learners passing first time because this is simply a marketing ploy and is not in your best interests if you think carefully about it. This is not driving! Trevor does not follow a 'one size fits all' approach and from my first lesson, tailored his approach to my individual attributes and personality. This is critical because your traits will affect the way you drive a vehicle and the decisions you make on the road. At the end of my first lesson, I can honestly say the advice he provided and observations he made were spot on and he taught me a set of knowledge, skills and behaviors that has enabled me to feel confident on any road and will stay with me for the rest of my life. Trevor is now a good friend and he is the only instructor I would ever recommend to family and friends. You'll be hard pushed to find an instructor like Trevor these days. Fantastic experience: Learning to drive with Trevor has actually been a joy. This from someone who didn't particularly like or care about driving beforehand, and was just going through the motions ticking that next big goal off in life. Trevor makes each lesson a new experience and come the end of the learning, you'll understand and appreciate the fact he's somehow managed to pack his decades worth of knowledge and advice into what essentially is only a few days of driving. And it's all yours to keep for the rest of your life.

Trevor had previously taught my mother and older sister how to drive, so I already knew that Trevor was the best instructor for me. I was a bucket of nerves and anxiety while I was learning to drive, but Trevor soon helped me build up my confidence in my ability to drive, as well as in myself, which are important qualities that I wholly thank Trevor for helping me to develop. Trevor was also able to break the family 'curse' of passing on 2nd tests. Thanks to Trevor, I passed first time, something that has not happened since my Grandad passed his test many years ago. I wholeheartedly recommend Trevor to anyone seeking a professional and dedicated Driving Instructor, and for someone not looking just to learn how to drive but how to become a safe and good driver.

Fantastic experience: I just passed my test first time down to Trevor! I suffered a lot from nervousness and anxiety about driving as I was learning, so it was amazing to have someone who was able to help me out on the road instead of just going through the basics of how to operate the car, which is something you don't get from other instructors. He recommended some ways I improve my recovery from mistakes, like Rescue Remedy (which if he recommends, you should take), and overall made learning to drive very successful for me.

Fantastic experience: I passed first time, on Friday, with 2 minors and am very happy. I struggled to get a test booked due to the COVID backlog but Trevor ensured I stayed focused, mentally, and more than ready for test day. Many years ago I took some lessons and the instructor obsessed about minor details (like the sequence to start the car up, or manoeuvres). Talking with friends this seems to be quite common but it's overwhelming for us as learners. We already have 100 other things going on in our heads and it doesn't actually teach us anything about driving a car safely. Even if it did our minds are so overwhelmed we forget it. Everything. Trev is all about giving you basic driving knowledge, allowing you to try, explaining in very simple and logical terms how to improve for next time and then allowing you to develop your control, awareness and perception (the important stuff). As you develop then the sequences, manoeuvres etc almost become second nature. It's seems like simple stuff but I feel it needs to be said. I'm waiting for my new car to arrive but I am super excited to get it and will be 100% confident taking it out for the first time. Trev never takes himself too seriously, is a good laugh and above all a decent, honest and proffesional Gentleman. Top man! Will miss my Friday morning drive! Highly recommend

A driving Instructor who actually teaches you to drive, not just pass the test which is rare to find these days. Fantastic experience: I cannot fault this driving school. Brilliant for new learners, experienced learners and for those who have already passed. After a year of lessons with another school, more money than I would like to think, and still unable to turn into a road correctly, I was at a road-block (mind the pun). Like others have mentioned, the price per hour is a bit higher than average, but you get what you pay for and more. Lessons are tailored specifically to your skill level. I have been taught how to DRIVE on ANY road, not how to pass a test. Trevor is not only a driving instructor, but also a life-coach. He is honest, at times brutally so, but with best intentions at heart. He will always find a way to deliver the 'bad stuff' in such a way that it's constructive. Highly recommend to anyone that struggles with anxiety/similar. I've seen a significant improvement in my confidence since starting lessons with Trevor - behind the wheel and in all leases of life.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t be happier! I spent a lot of money with a previous instructor who hadn’t taught me the basics of driving after around 40+ lessons. My first lesson with Trevor, believe it or not I finally learned how to steer, line the car up with the curb and use the mirrors properly! I can honestly say Trevor has built my confidence in the drivers seat. At first I was skeptical with the price being a little higher than the usual £25 I previously paid, however i soon learned that it was worth every penny and my only regret was not finding this driving school sooner as I would have saved a lot of money! Today I passed first time with five minors and Trevor has been fantastic to work with. He has genuine care in everything he does. Thank you for everything, I strongly recommend.

Fantastic experience: My driving experience with Trevor was amazing. He didn't teach me to drive in order to past the test, but instead, to become a safe and aware driver. I failed my first test with a previous driving school as I was, in short, a dreadful and dangerous driver. When I first started with Trevor, he was very honest and highlighted my flaws in order to improve them. He was able to turn it around, by ridding my bad habits and enhancing my driving technique wholly. His techniques and methods are one of a kind and make driving a breeze. I passed my second test on the 12th of December with just one minor. I would 10/10 recommend Lazer School of Motoring, particularly Trevor. I already miss my lessons and look forward to seeing Trevor in the new year for motorway lessons.

Fantastic experience: Before I started driving lessons with Lazer, I was terrified of driving and thought I would never pass a test. I have previously had several driving instructors and they all taught overly complicated ways to do manoeuvres. There is none of that with Trevor, his methods work and I passed my test first time. I no longer dread driving and I have now become my wife's personal chauffeur.

Fantastic experience: I have just passed my driving test last week and delighted thank you Trevor for your hard work and understanding how much I needed it (34 weeks pregnant and struggling with school run) He worked extra hour so he could fit me in his busy schedule and also managed to rearrange my test before I get any bigger . Fantastic experience: After seeing all the positive reviews about Trevor I decided to start taking lessons from him and I couldn't be happier. Throughout my time with Trevor as an instructor there hasn't been a dull moment as his humour makes the lessons more enjoyable and less nerve racking. Besides that, as an instructor he is fair and honest, while also patient and understanding which all you really need. As far as nerves are concerned, as long as you follow the advice and diagrams he gives and persevere you should be fine. I cannot recommend him enough.

Fantastic experience: I did a refresher course with Trevor -I hated driving ,and the thought of getting behind the wheels terrified me ,especially after having a baby.but Trevor was patient and had confidence in me and he now has me driving around happily and properly! Fantastic experience: Having done 40 hours with another driving school and still failing mock tests with multiple majors, I came to Trevor looking to do my test short notice, the first lesson was a eye opening as Trevor quickly pointed out where improvements could be made and refined some of my techniques. We moved my test back a few weeks and this was one of the best decisions I made because the extra lessons ensured I could work with Trevor to learn how to DRIVE not just pass the test. With just 5 lessons with Trevor, today I passed with 7 minors first time. Thanks to Trevor for all the advice, laughs and nagging. I'll have your voice in my head while I drive now.

Fantastic experience: Learning to drive with Trevor has been a very enjoyable experience. I want to thank Trevor for, not only teaching me to drive, but for also giving me some life lessons along the way. Like some of his students, I suffered from anxiety whilst driving, so much so that I used to dread Fridays, and my upcoming lesson. Trevor, though, put me at ease and gave me tips on how to help the situation; he genuinely wanted to help. I only wish I had listened to his advice sooner, as in the beginning, my lessons, and how I was advancing, suffered because of it. He was very patient with me along the way. With the actual driving tuition, Trevor is second to none, which probably explains why he has a waiting list of clients. Techniques and manoeuvres, that seem difficult, he explains in a simple and clear way. You can't go wrong if you do such manoeuvres, in the way he explains. I passed my test first time, something not possible, had Trevor not giving me the help and guidance along the way.

Fantastic experience: I have had the best experience with Trevor from Lazer school of motoring, I wanted to learn to drive for a long time but I suffered from GAD ( generalised anxiety disorder). From the initial call up Trevor went through things with me to ease my anxiety so I decided to book with him. He is very straight down the line and I needed this as I didn’t want someone to pretend I was good when I wasn’t just to make me feel better or make me feel anxious by pampering to my anxiety needs.. This was the best thing I ever did and so glad I booked with Trevor, from the word go he had sussed me out and my needs within driving his professionalism is the best, there isn’t anything I felt I couldn’t ask him as he knew everything and more... Just a few extras I am 40 years old and would not even get in a car with a stranger or go anywhere so.... around my 28th lesson I went for the test and I passed first time, So for us in older ages it can be done and it can be done with Trevor. Fantastic experience: I thought I'd never be able to drive, let alone pass first time. He really did have his work cut out with me, I was extremely critical of myself, especially when I done something wrong, but Trevor has the patience of a saint. His sense of humor is enough to make you feel comfortable and confident whilst driving. He would always ring if he was going to be more than 10 minutes late or early. He isn't afraid to tell you how it is but it's the only way you're going to learn. He'll put you at ease the very moment your inside the car. Truly fantastic! Fantastic experience: I've passed today my driving test first time because Trevor is a great instructor. He is calm, supportive and with a good sense of humor. He was always on time for the lessons and never rebooked or cancelled one. He was telling me when I was doing well and also helped me understand what I was doing wrong and how to correct it next time. He helped me go through my fears, overthinking and "imperfect English" achieving at the end a Pass Certificate. His brilliant methods make your driving and maneuvers easy and confident. Fantastic experience: So when I first started driving I was a nervous wreck, I would tend to drive towards trees or just not want to be on the road due to lack of confidence and self esteem. Meeting Trevor made me realise there is no need for stress or worry. Simply believing and knowing you can do something with the correct strategy and a patient teaching is all you need. Fantastic experience: I have failed my exam 3 times. So I decided to change car and instructor. A friend said she knows a good instructor, his name is Trevor. At the beginning it was hard because I had to change the previous rules to "Trevor's rules". Generally I was so very nervous so he recommended me using 'rescue remedy'. After a total of 21.5 hours of driving I now have my exam. The day before, in the evening Trevor called and offered me an extra lesson. I was very happy. The lesson was not great, I would have failed my exam at least 5 times. Trevor was not happy at the time, and he said i can do better then that. Before the exam I went to the bathroom and drowned the cold water on my face and hit my face "gently", saying wake up woman. You are 39 and you can do it. When the exam started I had all of Trevor's comments and rules in the head, so I decided to do Trevor's way and remembered my mistakes. For little bit relax i was singing "in my head" - itsy bitsy spider. I passed on the 21st of June !! I only made one small mistake (as I turned left, the bus twisted into my street so i touched kerb with back wheel). Thank you Trevor and I apologize for the stress that you have had over me. If you are looking for a good instructor, I recommend Trevor. He is the best. Ula

Fantastic experience: Overall fantastic experience with a very professional and experienced driving instructor. The one and only driving GOD Trevor Wookey. All the reviews I read before using laser driving school was spot on. Trevor makes you feel very comfortable and at ease and help you realise your potential and what your capable of. He is very thorough and precise in he's lessons, no stone is left unturned and nothing is left to chance. Every thing he teaches you is broken down in segmants and easy to learn and easy to follow until it is installed in your subconscious. Worth every penny spent and would highly recommend in the future to anyone trying to gain a driving license.
