Fantastic experience: Jay was a brilliant driving instructor and very thorough. I covered everything I needed to pass my practical.

Negative experience: Thorough teaching but the atmosphere was uncomfortable which led me to stop taking lessons after several weeks - for example, Jay gave me a hard time for forgetting things despite not always being available for weekly lessons. Unfortunately, since there is no function to continue a thread on Google reviews, I now have to edit my review to leave additional feedback. The paragraph above quotes my original review. I left my original review earlier today (06.08.23), and found the company’s response to be dishonest, disingenuous, and containing personal details which should not be made public. I have left an honest review based on my experience, unbiased by the other positive reviews on Google. I was not recommended to take Automatic lessons, and regardless of this I believe in a teaching approach that adapts to the needs of a student. It’s understandable that any new student can be anxious at the beginning, but I believe my anxiety was exacerbated by the uncomfortable atmosphere. You should believe in your students and be patient with them. If they are not progressing as quickly as you expect them to, then maybe it has more to do with the teaching approach rather than learning capacity, and students certainly shouldn’t be made to feel bad for it or pushed to give up Manual lessons. As for the frequency of lessons, I had asked multiple times for three one-hour lessons weekly as I did not want an intensive course. I did not once ask for upwards of four hours. Finally, personal details of students should not be publicised like this online, especially location. I do not recommend this company.

Instructor Jay is very punctual, full of knowledge and precise and concise. Highly recommend this driving school who is not just looking to pass but also get knowledge about Safer Driving.

Negative experience: Had Sheila as an instructor and took several lessons from her. I informed her about my driving test which she confirmed that she will take me to and provide her car. Just a week before my test she asked me in a lesson which we had, when my test was and I informed her I already sent her the details which she replied she lost (so unprofessional). I then texted her my details and just two days before my test, she text me to let me know that she cannot take me as she has a previous student whom she was giving lessons to and also has a test on the same day as me. This is nothing to do with me and not my problem!! So unreliable and unprofessional, don't tell a student you can take them for a test if you can't! Absolute waste of money and time, not to mention I also told her my theory test was running out and this was my last opportunity at taking my driving test. When confronted, she was not apologetic one bit and was very sarcastic telling me to go do my theory again, it isn't that hard. The owner Jay was informed of this and did not respond, just ignored. Avoid this company!

Fantastic experience: I had Jay as my instructor for the past 8 months. He has been so patient with me, informative with everything and also made me feel very comfortable! Also had Sheila as my instructor for my remaining last lessons and she has been great as well, she’s straight to the point and makes sure that you don’t overthink think things which I do a lot. Fantastic experience: Overall my lessons with Jay were really good. The lessons were well structured and organised and he explains things well and is happy to answer any questions. He made sure I was as prepared as possible for the test and identified areas to focus on as my test got closer. He was happy to adapt the lessons to practise areas I felt less confident in. Fantastic experience: A fantastic driving school 10/10. Extremely knowledgeable and patient. Every question had an answer and no question was too stupid. I passed with 23 lessons and Jay Patel was the best instructor I could have wished for. I had lessons around my area and the test centre which allowed me to get used to that area for the test. He was punctual and never cancelled lessons. He made sure I had a lesson the day before my test despite the fog and conducted mock tests. I would absolutely recommend this driving school and teacher.

He's a very reliable, thorough and knowledgeable instructor, who familiarised himself with what I was doing wrong and shaped lessons around these weak areas so that I felt I was fully equipped to pass my test. Jay also made good use of technological aids, such as tablet apps, to provide diagrams and extra guidance to ensure everything was clear in my mind. He was particularly keen on teaching me good habits and raising my confidence on the roads. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I passed FIRST TIME with instructor Jay! After getting an excellent score on the Driving Theory test, I was hopeful and confident when I started lessons with Jay. He only further boosted this confidence with in-depth explanations of mistakes, tips & various reference points if some didn’t suit me. I really liked how he would use both paper diagrams and apps on his iPad to explain difficulties I previously had in emerging and lane discipline and how to follow lanes on a roundabout. Nearer to my test date I also had my A levels, due to which I was very nervous and made more unnecessary mistakes that I would never make before. He calmly talked me through them & gave great debriefs on not overthinking and holding onto previous mistakes, that genuinely helped. Further he took me on hard test style routes to familiarise myself on examiner style and direction, often also practicing manoeuvres many times to bring perfection to them. I am ecstatic that with the help of such a calm, patient & wonderful instructor I was able to achieve a first time pass at Kingstanding test centre, and I look forward to do pass plus with him too. Negative experience: I did great in the lesson but the driver was discriminating because I'm deaf and I lipreading him well and when I booked the 2 hours lessons he gave up after an hour of me doing left and right turned which made few mistakes which be expected, once he dropped me off he got out wanted to talk to my mum like I'm dumb and he didn't have anything to say to my face like I don't understand him which I found very offensive and discriminating and not have my refund back for the hour I've not done. Rubbish
