Fantastic experience: I went to Riders for my Mod1 and 2. Had an excellent time with Phil, who was remarkably patient and helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure I had no concerns or worries about the test process. I'd recommend these guys to anyone, it's almost a shame I don't need to go back!

Fantastic experience: Completed my cbt on the 16th, Tom was my instructor and he was great. During the pre-road excersises he was patient and great at helping me progress through with teaching moments and sharing his own knowledge that was definitely instrumental for my ability and confidence as a first time rider. When on the road, all communication was clear, any problems that occurred were quickly met with guidance on how to improve, understanding and a good laugh. Overall a great instructor and anyone looking for a place to complete their own cbt should 100% consider Riders North Birmingham.

Fantastic experience: Great instructors, I think it was Jake and Tom, both very patient and encouraging. Had some very good coaching from Tom whilst out on the road and even though I made a few blunders he made sure to understand why I made those mistakes and coached me into the right direction. Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT at the beginning of this month with instructors Karl and Andy. I had attended a few weeks before for my CBT but due to anxiety was not able to complete the day. Karl (and another instructor) were both very understanding, encouraging and respectful during the whole thing. When I came back for my second day both Andy and Carl were so patient with me knowing about my nerves and it was an incredibly encouraging environment. I couldn’t recommend Riders North more for learners with extra nerves. Thank you!

Although I chose the Direct Access Course as I option to attain my full motorcycle licence I would not recommend it if you are an individual that does not do well with pressure... Please allow yourself time to digest as much information as possible while practicing and getting familiar with the bike and the road as much as your body will allow you... Did I pass? Yes... and I can only thank Phil for being patient with me and making everything very easy to understand and implement... Fantastic experience: Started doing my CBT with instructors Phil and Nick, great guy's and good banter, they help you build up your knowledge and skills, even if you have a little to no experience, to get a certificate and be a safe rider. After my CBT I felt I was ready to do the DAS and booked it in, Mod1/2. Was fortunate to have Phil instruct me for this and tested me with different scenarios and on road riding, he’s a brilliant instructor, flexibility in training where you can start where you want either fine tuning skills to mod1 till your ready and on road training for mod2, who lets you get on with it from manoeuvres to traffic junctions to get as much practice and control to help you pass! .

Fantastic experience: Had my CBT done here. Karl was an absolute Gem of an instructor. Couldn't have picked a better weather to understand what it will be liek to ride in the UK, freezing rain (for me) and gale force wind. Had fun and got a lot information you only get from an experienced riders on how to progress from the CBT to full Access. Thank you Riders, especially you, Karl. Phil is not bad either (on emails atleast)

You have to be committed and determined because its very alien to begin with. I would recommend some time on a 125cc if possible, preferably before you arrive at the training school. Waste ov tym and day and ur muny Not friendly at all Nt bothered attitude Mke excuses up like there wasnt enough time to go on the road so ull have to cum bk and pay anextra 100 They jus interested in taking your muny They lie remember theres no cctv on site so its your word against there's n guess wat they goin to believe their own . Positive experience: You have to be careful who you go to. They scam you the first time you go to them especially Karl. He makes you waste time first doing the same thing over and over again multiple breaks just dragging the day threw. At the end he will give you a feedback saying that we can't complete the day so book it again next time with the automatic. Head office and Karl I feel like are part of the scam to make money of certain people. Moving on I feel like Lee is a gem very nice person teaches you very well good nice person treats you nicely. Good honest guy understands the situation and teaches you with honesty. I suggest you go to Lee. Dont know about other places but try this place but go to Lee tho.

Positive experience: All the staff is very helpful and supportive. Gives the best advice and helps to explain all the rules clearly.

Negative experience: WARNING! KINGSTANDING ONLY HAVE THE PRACTICE AREA UNTIL MIDDAY! IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE EVERYTHING BY MIDDAY, NOMATTER HOW CLOSE YOU MIGHT BE, YOU HAVE FAILED AND WILL HAVE TO COME AGAIN ANOTHER DAY (AT COST TO YOU!) I had an awful day. There was me and another rider. The other rider had been riding for over a decade and was chilling around on an automatic moped, living his best life, but still seemed to command most of the instructors time. While I was struggling with never having ridden or used bike gears before, feeling a bit short changed. Often (but I'll admit not always) while he was talking to the other trainee, rather than letting me continue the circles I was doing to get better, he would make me stop and do nothing, even though we were in different sections of the car park. And THREE times he said he had to go to the building which involved taking the keys off us (which in itself is fair enough) but then disappearing for 15 minutes each while we twiddle our thumbs. I reckon I've lost over an hour of sitting around! Then, with just a few practice manoeuvres left to run through, having grasped the hardest parts, I was told that the time was up and I wouldn't be going out on the road or getting my CBT. Again, it wouldn't be such a bitter pill to swallow if it wasn't for the fact that I could easily imagine that wasted hour and some being enough to cover what was left. He was nice, patient and informative when actually dealing with me, but just too much time was wasted and that irks me. And I do think he kinda had his hands full with the other guy. I could see it wasn't straight forward for him. But, realistically, I paid for a fair crack at the whip, regardless of what else was going on. Then, at the end, he casually says that it's okay because I can just come back and finish off later and it won't be the full price just some of the price. Well forget that!! THIS shouldn't have been full price!! I didn't pay £160 for a half day, ages of sitting around doing nothing, and a time limit that was NOTHING TO DO WITH ME OR MY LEARNING! If you don't have the land for the day you should either not bother or at least make it VERY CLEAR when booking. If it said on the website, "Book here and you'll have until twelve to learn everything or we'll kick you off and you can go home!" I would have booked elsewhere. I see through the one star reviews the sheer amount of people here who sat around feeling time's a-wasting to then be told their day was done at midday and to pay more to come back. Utter robbery!! Quite frankly I think I should be refunded for at least half, if not all of the day. And, like a few other of the reviewers here, I decided I would rather pay full price again elsewhere, than EVER give these people any more money! Fortunately it's been a lifelong dream of mine to ride motorbikes because if I'd just done this as a trial, to see if I like bikes, I would NEVER want to ride again!!!

He was always super calm which really reassures the nerves, and made sure we had thorough understandings and were safe to ride. I'd happily recommend him and Riders to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Riders did more in the last 2 months than other schools did for me in the last 2 years. They got my in touch with a brilliant instructor, Phil. Who in turn got me through both my Mod 1 and Mod 2 and helped with any and all questions I had! Passed my motorcycle license now and very happy with my training, 10/10!

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting behaviour from one of the instructors. He allowed his students to ride their bikes along the pavement into vulnerable elderly people to park up outside Gregg's on Thornbridge Av on the Beeches estates. He then got off his bike and verbally assaulted an elderly lady before other members of the public intervened. If I find out this person's name it will be going further with a complaint to the licencing authority!!!

Negative experience: I had a phone call prior to the test to ask if I wanted a geared or automatic bike. I expressed to the person on the phone that I had no experience in riding a bike and eventually wanted to move onto a big bike in the very near future so what would they recommend. They said the automatic was a lot easier and if I passed this would allow me to ride an automatic. I said that’s fine - on the day I was given a mo-ped to do my test on. I immediately mentioned to the instructors that I did not want to learn on a moped and I wanted to learn on a more ‘big bike’ looking motorcycle. I wasn’t told this anytime prior to my test and I was extremely annoyed! I only NOW know that you can’t get a normal bike in automatic only mopeds. I had been waiting for my test for a while and did not want to have to reschedule it so I just carried out the test. I passed and now I’m facing problems with trying to ride a geared bike. I feel like I’ve just wasted money on a CBT certificate that I can’t even use because I can’t ride the bike I want to as I haven’t been given the proper training for it.
