Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my time with Ian, he is an excellent instructor and a joy to be around which made me look forward to each lesson. I was able to learn at a steady pace thanks to his methods and professionalism. Ian being able to answer all my questions helped me so much. I highly recommend him to anyone, whatever level of nervousness or competency. He never let me down with lesson times and thanks to his thorough teaching I felt well prepared for my test which I passed 1st time.

Fantastic experience: Ian often said to me that driving isn’t a skill that somebody is born with, however it’s hard to believe it’s a skill that Ian wasn’t born with! Starting lessons with Ian, I was incredibly nervous and a very anxious driver. I used to be so scared when my previous instructor used to pick me up, Ian was incredible, always arriving early and often dropping me off later than my scheduled time, Ian was so patient with me, and listened to what I had to say about how I was feeling. The way Ian explains things makes them simple to understand and it was made very clear to me when I started off that no question was a stupid question, taking a lot of that fear away immediately when on lesson that I could ask for help whenever I needed it. It was also lovely just having a chat and getting to know Ian himself! It was truly lovely and relaxing when driving. I cannot explain how thankful I am to have been taught by Ian, and to have had somebody so patient, understanding, reassuring and kind to guide me through passing my driving test. Now I will always have Ian’s voice in my mind when I drive… “think safety!!” Road Light Driver Training was 100% the right move, I couldn’t reccomend them enough.

Fantastic experience: The end of Jan, I began learning with Ian after seeing reviews online. I had never drove a car before that I can 100% say from my first lesson to now passing first time with 0 faults, Ian is one of the best instructors any new driver could look for. Always on time (if not earlier) every lesson spent we built up my skills and went over lessons I struggled with till I was happy which got me here! From the start, Ian was friendly, making lessons enjoyable and fun so when I did make mistakes he’d never shout but was patient and helped me improve by demonstrating in various ways (apps, watching him first, and even a Lego model)! Ian stands out from other instructors as he teaches you how to adapt your driving to real life situations instead of test standard which made me a really confident driver when on the road and knowing I was in control when parking in tight spaces. At the end of each lesson we also recalled what I did and made me independent by asking me what I’d say to someone who didn’t know about what we learnt which made me use my initiative and knowledge. I honestly couldn’t recommend Ian enough! Everything he offers is worth the money and I will be back to do a motorway lesson soon! Thank you for never doubting me and always believing me even when I was hard on myself when lessons didn’t go as well in my head, I couldn’t of done it without you Ian!

Fantastic experience: I first started driving with Ian after being recommended to him by a friend , he always made me feel safe and comfortable during our lessons and he always explained things in a way that made it easy for me to grasp and understand. I always looked forward to my lessons with Ian as not only was it a step closer to my full license it was also a good laugh. I feel like most instructors teach you how to pass your test but Ian taught me how to drive safely on the road and if I ever got too stressed out in the lesson he would always calm me down and help me which I am especially grateful for as I suffer from bad anxiety. Fantastic experience: Ian was a brilliant instructor for me, as I have had 2 other driving instructors before him and they were not teaching me in the way that I needed and always felt like they were taking down to me instead of guiding me to help me understand what I needed to do, they were just telling me even if I didn’t understand what they meant, Ian was different and we would talk about what I was struggling with and would find a way to explain it in a way that I can understand, then he would ask me to explain it back and then we would have a go and would ask how I felt and what I wanted to try to get things right. Ian always made me think about how I could improve myself rather than just telling me to do things. Ian never let me down with lessons time was never wasted every lesson was a productive lesson, Today I passed my test first time and would highly recommend him as an instructor who really cares about his pupils and understands what people need to help them to also pass. Fantastic experience: My mum chose Ian as my driving instructor after reading his reviews and his qualifications. I can honestly say that I enjoyed my lessons with Ian and he made everything understandable. I always felt confident enough to ask Ian if I didn’t understand, and he would find a way to explain it differently so that I would. He never got angry or shouted at me, but always remained calm and built my confidence. Fantastic experience: I had two other driving instructors before I started with Ian, and I can honestly say I found Ian to be better than the other two. Fantastic experience: Ian has been an exceptional driving instructor for me, leading to me passing my test confidently this week. Having had lessons with another instructor in the past but been unable to pass the test, I was reluctant to try again. Ian worked closely with me to develop all the required skills so that on test day, I felt genuinely confident I'd be able to handle anything that would come up. His calm and friendly manner made lessons a pleasure, and something to look forward to. Fantastic experience: I couldn't recommend Ian highly enough. Ian's calm, patient and methodical approach really shines through in his teaching and our daughter progressed amazingly well under his tutorship. Ian made her feel relaxed and gave her confidence in her own ability to be able to drive and to drive well. Even now after passing her test her standards have remained high and we have full confidence in her ability which has come through the efforts of Ian high standard of teaching. Fantastic experience: When doing my lessons with Ian, every week he had pre planned and structured the lesson and would make sure he had told me in the previous lesson what would be the aim of the next lesson. Fantastic experience: The communication with Ian was fantastic from the first email to book lessons for my daughter. He was punctual and professional. His lessons were well structured and my daughter progressed quickly. If he needed to change a lesson he gave plenty of notice and helped to find test dates. He was not the cheapest instructor we found but he was certainly worth the money. He was more than happy to chat through what they had been doing at the end of lessons and keep me up to date also. Fantastic experience: I decided to use Ian after reading his incredible reviews and seeing his first time pass rate. I had previously been using a different instructor but felt we weren’t making progress at a good rate. The lessons were so different to my previous experience- learning both theory, technique and building confidence. Ian didn’t have an easy ride with me (pun intended!) , he’s regularly had to pass me the tissues when I’ve got upset with myself. Fantastic experience: Learning to drive with Ian has been a such comfortable and enjoyable experience. I just passed first time and I cant thank Ian enough!! Ian was never late for lessons in fact he was usually early and he never let me down and always got plenty of time driving. Fantastic experience: I would definitely recommend Ian to anyone looking for a driving instructor in bolton. I really enjoyed my lessons and everything was explained clearly. I always felt comfortable to double check things with Ian if i was unsure. Ian was always consistent with lessons and was always punctual and accommodating to changing schedule. He also used a reflective log which I found really useful so you are aware of your lesson plan. He was also patient when I was nervous even on the morning of my test he was reassuring and helped me calm my nerves and believed in me. I passed my test 1st time with only 2 driver faults. Fantastic experience: I'm very grateful to Ian for getting me up to speed with my driving... had lessons previously with another instructor but just needed polishing up... to get me to test standard... Ian manged to fit me in with his other pupils... the lessons were very good... and having 2hrs lessons made it better for me to gain more experience... Fantastic experience: Ian has been such an amazing driving instructor. He has lots of tips and tricks to make driving so much easier but also to make you feel so much more confident when driving. Fantastic experience: Our daughter has just passed her practical driving test today (first time) using Road Light Driver Training. Ian has been an excellent support and reassurance to her over the last few months. She’s now a confident and safe driver which as any parent will know is a huge reassurance as she takes her first steps on her own as an independent driver. Fantastic experience: If you are reading this review wondering whether to use Road Light Driver Training to help you learn to drive please do! I cannot recommend Ian enough. He is a fantastic instructor very patient, kind and explains things so clearly, you really understand what you need to do not only pass your test but more importantly help you to feel confident driving on your own after you pass. As a mature learner I really struggled with nerves and anxiety on the road. I had wasted 20 hours with a previous instructor in Bolton and really felt driving wasn’t for me and had made no progress. I thought I’d give it one more chance to learn with a new instructor and I’m so lucky I found Ian. He returned my confidence and stuck with me when driving test nerves started to show weeks before my test- Ian helped me learn lots of useful mindfulness techniques that helped so much on my driving test and I passed FIRST time!! I went from no driving experience to passing my test first time , Ian gave advice and guidance throughout every lesson and would correct me on my mistakes in a kind and informative manner . Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test this morning at my first attempt and this was only possible because of Ian. My dad had passed his test with Ian a few years earlier and he recommended Ian as my driving instructor and I’m really glad he did, because finding a great instructor isn't easy. Ian explains things really well, even the smallest details and if you don’t understand something he always stays calm and patient even if you are getting something wrong for the 100th time. He really helped me to regulate my driving speed as that was one of my biggest issues and he quickly got me on the right track. He never let me down with lessons and he always turned up on time, in fact mostly early. So I would highly recommend Ian as your first choice of driving instructor, because he is just brilliant! Fantastic experience: I came to Ian with absolutely no driving experience and he built me up to be a very safe and confident driver. The idea of driving was quite daunting to me but Ian was always patient and could calm my nerves. I am sure that being a driving instructor can be quite stressful, so it amazed me how Ian could always keep calm when I made mistakes. What I liked most about our lessons was the fact that Ian had a bunch of easy to understand methods for the manouvers. I could normally nail each one with only a few attempts. I was referred to Ian by a friend who passed first time with him and I am proud to say that I have followed suit! Fantastic experience: I choose Ian for my daughter after reading about his knowledge and experience. My daughter had had two previous instructors and was very nervous and lacking in confidence. Ian has been fantastic from day one. He introduced himself, explained clearly that if my daughter wasn’t happy after her first lesson with him then that was fine, he just wanted her to feel comfortable. Well the first lesson went really well and my daughter actually said she really wanted Ian as her instructor even after just one lesson she seemed so much more relaxed and confident. This continued and I saw her confidence grow as did her driving skills. Ian kept me informed after every lesson and gave my daughter techniques and information in preparation for her test. Then comes the day of the rest and again Ian worked his magic offering her that reassurance that she was well prepared and could pass. He was right of course, she passed first time with no faults! I couldn’t thank Ian enough he has been fantastic and always believed she could do it therefore she believed it. He is professional, knowledgeable and has great understanding of what my daughter needed. I would highly recommend him and will be asking him to teach my son next year!

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Ian enough for helping me pass my test today. Ian has been an excellent driving instructor, he was amazing at calming my nerves. Fantastic experience: I’ve just passed my driving test first time. I’ve been with Ian for about 3 or 4 months. I came to him with about 13 hours of driving done with my previous instructor that I had to leave as I had a bad experience with him. I was very nervous when I first started with Ian because of my past experience but I got comfortable with him really quickly as he was understanding and patient with me. He saw every little mistake I’ve made and taught me the easiest ways to fix them. I got confident in my driving and my abilities really quickly thanks to Ian. Fantastic experience: Ian was absolutely lovely and a very helpful instructor. After not driving for a year and a half I was hesitant to buy a car without a refresher lesson. Ian reached out to me and arranged a lesson within a week. Fantastic experience: I booked a refresher lesson with Ian as after a period of not driving I wanted to refresh my skills and build my confidence. Fantastic experience: I can't thank Ian enough for helping me gain confidence driving in the UK. Having had an accident 3 years ago stopped me from driving and getting back to it made me really nervous. Adding to that, i learned how to drive outside the UK which made things more challening for me. Ian helped me gain my confidence back by being very patient, explaining everything in detail and making sure i felt comfortable with the pace of our lessons. Fantastic experience: FANTASTIC - First of all I want to say a BIG thank you to Ian for teaching me and helping me pass first. I doubted that I would pass because I don’t particularly enjoy driving but I knew it is a great thing to learn as well as a huge accomplishment on my part. Ian was very patient with me and when I made mistakes he didn’t get annoyed even if I kept doing the same mistake, he just calmly explained where I was going wrong and how to correct it by showing me the right way to do it which was very helpful. I’m someone who likes to be shown how to do manoeuvres not just told. So I liked that Ian will do a demonstration to show how to drive safely and the way it was done stuck in my head - so coming to a stop at a red light you would do mirrors, brake, clutch, roll and then decide the gear to use. This helped on my test as I just needed to remember this and I would be okay. So when it was my test, just before Ian gave another short demonstration which helped me to recap everything. He answered all my questions no matter how silly they were and what I should probably know. And if I didn’t understand something he would just keep explaining until he had make sure that by the end of it I understood. I would definitely recommend as Ian is reliable and although driving can be scary he is calming which helps a lot especially when you go in for your test :)

Fantastic experience: Ian is a great driving instructor! Whilst I obtained my license abroad, through our refresher lessons he helped me learn to drive in the UK and supported me in regaining my confidence on the road ! He was always on time for our lessons, always kind and never wasted time but was extremely focused and to the point throughout our lessons ! Ian was very understanding of my difficulties during this transition period and made the lessons extremely pleasant and effective! Fantastic experience: Ian is a great instructor, he was a great help in getting my confidence back after not driving for 7 years. Ian allowed me to get back into driving at my own pace, offering advice and guidance when I was struggling to remember maneuvers, such as roundabouts and clutch control. Ian's use of diagrams and easy to understand guides allowed me to get back into the swing of things extremely quickly. The fact that I was able to go from struggling with clutch control to driving on the motorway in only three lessons is a testimony to Ian's skill in teaching. Ian was always patient when I made mistakes and was willing to repeat things over and over until I had them down. I have had three driving instructors over the course of my time driving, two before I passed my test and one after, and I can say that without a doubt Ian is one of if not the best driving instructors around.

Fantastic experience: I passed my test first time today after having my driving lessons with Ian at Road Light Driver Training. Ian has been an excellent driving instructor, because he was great at explaining things and used some advanced driving skills to help me learn quickly how to become a safe and smooth driver, especially I became really smooth with my clutch control, and this made me feel confident in my driving. Ian helped me so much that I felt confident enough to drive on the motorway with him. It was a great feeling. Ian was always on time and mostly early for my lessons, and he never let me down once. Fantastic experience: Ian has got to be one of the best instructor's in Bolton and I'm glad to say I had the pleasure of learning from him. I previously started learning with another instructor nearly 10 years ago, so safe to say I was quite rusty. Ian was amazing at calming any nerve's I had and teaching in such a way that was easy to understand and he was so patient with me. Ian had everything you could need with his drawings or his iPad with all the roads, roundabouts you could possibly think of down to a little toy car to help with positions on manouvers ect. Ian never let me down with times and days of my lessons, and was always on time. Unfortunately during the time I was learning I suffered a miscarriage. I had a lesson booked the following day and Ian was so kind and compassionate. I wanted to do my lesson and he was so kind and put me at ease, and we had a good lesson. He came with a card from him and his wife, I was so touched that he had thought of me in that way. Ian is not just an instructor, he takes the time and effort to care and make sure you're well. This just shows that unlike some, Ian does this job out of love and care rather than money grabbing and out for what they can get. I can't recommend Ian enough, so if your looking for the best instructor to teach you, you've found him in Ian, he's amazing, just gutted I will no longer see him every week as I passed 1st time.

Fantastic experience: I had to wait for months to get driving lessons with Ian, as he was fully booked, but he was well worth the wait. He was never late and never cancelled any of my lessons. I needed to regain my confidence in driving and pass my test after a decade of not driving. Ian was very patient and helped me achieve my aim. Most importantly, he taught me how to drive safely, as I had a portfolio of bad driving habits. The best thing about Ian is his friendly disposition and honest appraisals. Fantastic experience: Ian gave me confidence in my driving, and was always patient when I made mistakes. Fantastic experience: When I turned 17, I wasn’t someone who was particularly excited to start learning to drive; for me, it was more a skill of convenience rather than pleasure. However, having lessons with Ian completely changed my outlook on driving, and I very much enjoy it now. I would strongly recommend Ian to anyone looking to learn to drive in Bolton. He is patient, explains things with clarity and is always early to lessons. One feature of my driving lessons I particularly liked, was the learning log at the end of each drive. This enabled me to learn faster and more effectively because I had clear goals to work on, as well as praising feedback from my prior lesson, which I could read over and refresh myself with before the next lesson. The evaluation of each lesson afterwards was very useful and Ian was particularly good with certain phrasing and little tricks to remember what to work on. During my actual lessons, I always felt confident and comfortable enough to ask questions, as Ian was not only very understanding and always listened to what I had to say, but also used various models which allowed me to visualise things easier. I wanted to pass my test fairly quickly (and first time), and Ian allowed me to do this, alongside teaching me to be a safe and smart driver. Fantastic experience: Today I passed my driving test for the first time. I was extremely nervous and not confident when I first started to learn but throughout my lessons I could see my confidence starting to grow as Ian was very patient with me. Ian has been an excellent teacher and always told me I could do it when I didn’t believe in myself, turns out he was right! I always felt comfortable on my lessons due to Ian being very easy to talk to. Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Ian if you're looking for a driving instructor in Bolton. Ian had me driving within the very first hour of my first lesson. With each subsequent lesson, I felt like I conquered a milestone - that could be changing into 2nd gear, parallel parking or merging onto a dual carriageway. He was patient with me, explained situations very clearly, gave me feedback where needed and praise when deserved! Ian very quickly picks up on how best a pupil learns and tailors his approach accordingly. He adapts his teaching style to suit you so you feel that you are really learning something with each and every lesson. He knew I liked to be challenged and also needed to know the logistics and reasoning behind approaches and maneuvers. So for example, when we finished learning about dealing with roundabouts, I still felt scared and had no confidence whatsoever! To build up my confidence, Ian drove and narrated his approach to a few roundabouts (big and small), so that I could see and know what he was thinking and doing. After this, we swapped seats so I could replicate what he did. To further develop my confidence, on the next lesson he brought me to Chorley (the roundabout capital of Lancashire) to practice my approach with unknown roundabouts. I lost count after doing 5 roundabouts that lesson, but that was how I overcame my fear and uncertainty! Ian not only taught me how to drive, but he also taught me how to be a confident and safe driver. Initially, I was terrified of roads beyond 20mph and roundabouts, but now I'll happily drive on dual carriageways and Chequerbent roundabout! I am in the process of looking for my first car and looking forward to being on the road - this would not be possible without Ian's guidance, teaching and support. I found Ian through my brother, who also had lessons (and passed) with Ian. When looking online for lessons for my brother, my mum spotted Ian driving around town (a sign some would say!) and looked up his website. She recommended him to us as his website had no frills and empty promises compared with the others she had seen. It was just plain honest and professional, just like Ian himself. I never felt pressured to do anything I wasn't comfortable doing, never felt any question was too silly to ask and never felt like I couldn't ask him to run through something for the tenth time. Ian is beyond friendly, very easy to talk to and so approachable. I enjoyed every lesson with him and would highly recommend him if you're looking for an instructor. You won’t regret it. Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend learning to drive with Ian. Every lesson was productive, well paced and Ian always gave me the encouragement and confidence I needed to develop new skills. Fantastic experience: I passed my test 10 years ago but have only been driving occasionally in that time and have become really nervous around parking. I had a refresher lesson with Ian to specifically focus on this. This was extremely helpful, Ian was very calm and explained clearly what I could do to improve. Fantastic experience: My lessons with Ian were nothing less than insightful, enjoyable and fulfilling. I was finally able to pass my test today and I can wholeheartedly say that without Ian and his patience, knowledge and experience with new drivers like myself, it would not have been possible. From my experience, Ian was always on time for my lessons and always took time at the end of the lesson to schedule the next one, which gave you not only the time of your next lesson but also time to reflect on your lesson on the day and try and progress and get better at driving. This is heavily helped by the reflective log style of reflection at the end of the lesson. These logs give you a chance to understand what you did during the lesson, how your skills have developed since last lesson and what you aim to achieve in the next lesson. I found this system of reflection very helpful as it helped you understand what you actually achieved in your lesson and how you can build upon your skills. This system also encourages you to achieve more and helps you see just how far you progressed from your first lesson and helps put into reality just how much you have achieved. My mum initially saw Ian driving around town and suggested him to me and after checking out his website, she heavilly insisted that I give him a call. I can say that without a doubt, this decision was one of the best ones I have ever made and I suggest to anyone sceptical or just unsure about finding the right driving instructor that Ian is definitely that person and I can't recommend him enough. Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my lessons with Ian and he made it very understandable to me. He never made me feel uncomfortable and was always very supportive and encouraging. I always felt like I could ask Ian anything I wasn't sure about or get him to explain it in a different way if I wasn't sure the first time. Fantastic experience: I was exceptionally nervous about learning to drive and knew it would be a struggle for me so it was important that I found the right instructor and Ian was definitely the man for the job. He was happy to work around my 9-5 schedule, was never late and I always felt safe and comfortable whilst I was learning. I particularly liked that he kept a reflective log which we discussed at the end of each lesson – it really helped me to keep track of my progress and motivated me when I was struggling to see how far I had come! Most importantly I never felt too intimidated to tell him when I didn’t understand something (in which case he always found another way to explain it!) or to ask if I could spend more time focusing on a particular element. I managed to pass my driving test first time last week and I honestly can’t recommend Ian enough!

Fantastic experience: Ian is the best driving instructor ever. I have thoroughly enjoyed my lessons and have learnt a great deal and i also passed first time round with only 5 minor faults. Ian is very reliable he would always be on time and would always work around my college timetable in order to give me the best suitable time for my lesson. Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test today first time with Ian with only one minor fault. I’m absolutely delighted. Ian has been a brilliant driving instructor who fully explains things and who never gives up trying to help me understand everything. At first I struggled to understand but Ian changed the way he helped me to suit my learning style. Before Ian I had another instructor but they were just not helping me, they didn’t understand the help I needed and didn’t explain so I could understand properly. Fantastic experience: I started lessons with Ian after recommendation by my sister, I hadn’t bothered to research for any other instructors because she had been so effusive about him! I understood why when we began lessons, he was such a patient and friendly instructor. I never once felt patronised or stressed, which some of my friends had done with other instructors. I felt relaxed and like I could talk through situations which confused me or found frustrating without Ian judging me. In lessons he also used his iPad to explain certain scenarios which made it very easy to understand what to do. Ian’s system of sending me a log of what we had done after each lesson was really helpful in showing me which aspects I needed to improve, but also showed me how much progress I was making; it was very encouraging and constructive. Ian was also very professional and it was obvious that he really cared about accommodating his pupils as best he could. He was very efficient at responding to my texts and I never felt ‘messed around’ by unclear communication. Once he even gave up his lunch time, so I could squeeze in a lesson on my weekend home from university. He was always on time to every single lesson and the quality of my whole experience with him has been outstanding. I could not recommend him enough. Thanks, Ian!

Fantastic experience: I had tried several other driving instructors before starting with Ian and he is by far the best instructor I have had. Ian is very patient and friendly- I felt very comfortable asking him questions or being honest about any difficulties I was having. I found it difficult to judge how to react in different situations and Ian was good at coming up with different ways to explain it to me using little lego cars or an app on his ipad. Ian also has a very good knowledge of the test routes and took me to difficult areas before the test to point things out to me. Ian was always punctual and kept a log of my progress throughout the weeks which was helpful so I could look back and see what I had done previously. Ian was also very helpful scheduling lessons around when I was home from uni in advance. He was very efficient dealing with money and booking all the lessons that I had paid for. Fantastic experience: Ian took me on with only 6 weeks to my test, I had failed my theory 5 times and had failed my driving test once. He is so calm and reassuring, my confidence grew and grew and I am please to say that I passed my test in just 6 weeks with only 5 minors!!! Fantastic experience: I left learning to drive until I started university so was looking for a driving instructor in Bolton who could accommodate the fact I was absent during term time and back for holidays. Because of this disjointed schedule I have been learning over an extended period of time and so wanted a teacher I would also enjoy having lessons with! I have never regretted choosing Ian as he has been a wonderful instructor, helping me to not only become a safe driver with an in-depth working knowledge of how the road works but also a confident one. Fantastic experience: I took my driving lessons in Bolton with Ian from Road Light. I passed at my first attempt today. I can't express how grateful I am. Ian has been so helpful and filled me with so much confidence in my driving. He was always happy to help with my theory questions and gave me constant feedback throughout my time with him. Fantastic experience: My experience with Ian@roadlightdrivertraining was in a few words marvellous, I can describe him and his teaching techniques as calm professional and encouraging and would recommend him as your instructor as he is the best man for the job. Also his mannar in and out of the car is exceptional and I am please to have passed under his supervision. Fantastic experience: I chose to use Ian at Road Light Driver Training After having a bad experience with a previous driving instructor, I read Ian's reviews and thought he would be able to give me the help I needed to guide me through into passing my test! Fantastic experience: I just passed my driving test with Ian, BEST FEELING EVER!! I took around 15 lessons and from the get go it was a success. Ian was educative, calm and very helpful throughout my lessons. Taking the lessons in the new Audi A3 really made my test easy as it was very easy to drive and that's just the start of it. I've had other instructors in the past but none of them are as equipped or up to date with the technology used to enhance the learning I acquired. Ian was supportive at all time and very easy to understand as he will point out all the faults in the driving, explain it to the learner and train the learner until it becomes second nature. Thanks to Ian @ Road Light Training I got my licence before the New Year, which was the target we set at the start of the programme. (Started Nov 7, Finished Dec 13 2016).

From the first lesson to the last, Ian provided a fantastic service that helped me pass my test. He was always clear, patient and professional and always gave me a lot of time on the road. Before I came to Ian, I had never really driven a car and I had always seen lots of learners talking for long periods of time in the car. However, I was shocked that on my second lesson I spent most of the time driving and only when I made a mistake or when he started to teach me something new would he then go through the theory. Ian always explained things clearly, concisely and straight to the point and it was never boring. I was never left confused by anything and he always helped me to understand, the how, when, where and why. He helped me to build real confidence on the road, as I was a nervous driver, which helped me feel safe and in turn drive safely. Ian was also very friendly and patient and I felt comfortable to ask him anything. He always arrived on time and I thoroughly enjoyed my lessons. Fantastic experience: I have passed my driving test on the first attempt today, thanks to the excellent teaching of Ian Graham from Road Light Driver Training. Ian was recommended to me when I was looking for a driving instructor around Bolton and he has been superb throughout the whole process since my first trial lesson with him. Ian is calm, pleasant, reassuring, always professional in his approach and uses various tools to help me understand the techniques and manoeuvres. During our driving lessons in Bolton, he will patiently repeat the moves and techniques that I find a bit challenging just so that I can understand and do them well. Fantastic experience: I booked a Motorway lesson with Ian after speaking to him over the phone about my worries of driving on the motorway. I have been driving for a while, however did not have the confidence to get onto the motorway before taking this lesson with Ian. Ian offered me great advice and went through each package he delivers and also told me what he thinks I will benefit from the most as well as what would be great value for money! I was very happy after I spoke with Ian as he was calm and informative. As soon as the motorway lesson began I was at ease and felt comfortable. He went through each and every step in a calm manner and made sure I knew what to expect. As expected I was nervous when approaching the motorway, however Ian was patient and made me understand exactly what to do. I travelled on the motorway for two hours and by the end of the lesson I was very confident and comfortable with getting on and off the motorway at junctions and welcome breaks. Furthermore, whilst driving on the motorway I was at ease and felt very good about driving on the motorway alone by the time the lesson had finished. Ian also offered me more advice about general driving and cleared up any worries I had. He was very kind and professional, which made me feel comfortable and I was extremely happy with booking the motorway lesson with him. I will be recommending him to family and friends for sure!

Fantastic experience: Ian is a great driving instructor, he was calm and patient with me when I was on my refresher lesson. He spoke clearly and gave me plenty of notice to think things through before I had to carry it out. Ian himself is also a really nice person to get along with, so that helped to bring my confidence up about being back on the road again. I would definitely recommend him for first time learners, as well as others who wish for just a couple of hours to refresh like I did. Thank you Ian so much.

Fantastic experience: YES!YES!YES!I just passed my practical test today!! I'm so exciting right now! And guess who is the hero behind this? Ian Graham!!!!!Yes he is! Ian is the best instructor I have ever had!!! Imagine how difficult it is for a Chinese student to overcome the language barrier and the different road rules(we use left-side steering wheel in China. Yes by the way I am a Chinese student in UOB.)However, all of these won't be a problem for Ian. He is so patient about everything. He will explain everything I am not sure, everything that I don't know. Even sometime I couldn't stand myself for being so foolish in some driving situation, he will also make me comfortable and talk to me very slowly and patiently about my faults. Trust me,he is absolutely the best as an instructor. So as a student of him, I will definitely recommend him to all my Chinese friends who wants to get driver licence. Guess what, my girlfriend says that she will study with him once she finishes her study in UOB. I will miss these days that I have spent with Ian, actually I'm kinda sad right now for not learning with him anymore. Anyways, I have "graduated" from his school and hopefully one day you are going to be the one successful with him.And PLEASE! CHOOSE IAN!!!!!!! Fantastic experience: I chose to go with Ian as my first driving instructor because of all the great reviews he has received in the past as well as how well presented & professional his website looked. Each lesson Ian made sure I was well informed of what was to come during that lesson, and covering all the necessary information required to complete the various aspects of driving safely and effectively. He is very patient and punctual as well as always providing a teaching method which allows you to understand and apply different driving techniques very easily. As well as teaching you how to drive, Ian will make sure you understand the reason behind careful driving and the possible consequences behind careless driving. I really like how Ian goes through detailed 2-way feedback after every session, and how he used multiple different ways of explaining particular situations/scenarios/rules, including iPad demonstrations, until we both felt I understood the point he was trying to illustrate. I can honestly say that I don’t believe I would have been able to pass my test as easily with another driving instructor. I highly recommend Road light driver training to any pupil wishing to undertake lessons in Bolton. Thanks again Ian, hope for all the best in future.

Fantastic experience: I've just passed my test learning with Ian and couldn't be happier; he's the best instructor around!! And after I've learned with other instructors and didn't really enjoy my driving but with Ian I not only became a much better driver but actually enjoy and feel relaxed at the wheel.
