Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Transformers! If you fancy a change of career and want to become a driving instructor then you don’t have to bother looking anywhere else… I competed my training with James and recently passed my ADI part 3 test to become a fully qualified ADI. The training was relaxed and enjoyable but also engaging and Thorough. James is an expert in the industry and will give you all the tools you need to succeed whilst keeping it fun and interesting. James is a fantastic trainer and will get the best out of you!

Negative experience: Via pass in days booked a 7 day intensive course and was instructed to pay £1200 to the instructor upfront no later than 2 weeks prior to my course starting (I had already stumped up £399 deposit six months previously and that allegedly covered tax, theory pro materials which are free to library members, looking for instructors and booking the test slot)and that was my first mistake...I had no idea I would be paired up with a terrible instructor from Transformers who set my schedule back a day due to one of his students having a test in the very first session I booked. I had booked a week off work so had worked out seven weekdays seven sessions. That set the overall tone for me So that was 4hrs owed already. As for the remaining four sessions we actually did, only one covered the full 4hrs I had paid for. The idea was,, as I understood it, according to the pass in days website, seven 4hr sessions and 2hrs dedicated to the test. When I informed him I was quitting, he insisted I claim back the tuition at a later date but I had no remaining paid time off left. Then he claimed he only owed me 3 four hour sessions at twelve hours when I worked out it was more as he kept ending the sessions early! The instructor in question has already been mentioned in another Google review re an assessment lesson where the reviewer had been ghosted 2 weeks before their test. This was an expensive lesson for me as I have lost a lot of money but it was either write the remaining sessions off as a loss or keep giving this joker money beyond the intensive course with no guarantee of a pass plus pay travel expenses to the pickup point which was expensive as it wasn't local (something pass in days didn't tell me when I asked for another instructor as the one they had covering my area was one I had a bad experience with about a decade ago who I think formerly worked for Simon Bell's driving school round about that time when I was learning to drive for the first time).All I had to go on was name and a number. By the time I contacted the alternative instructor it was two weeks before the course starting date which was the latest I was advised to contact the instructor to arrange the schedule which was when I found out he didn't operate locally so by omission, I was railroaded into booking becauseit was too late to find another instructor. Other things occurred that I won't go into that influenced my decision to quit with sessions still to attend, but overall a total waste of a week's paid leave and a not inconsiderable amount of money. Word to the wise...never pay upfront without scoping out the instructor first. As the expression goes, 'pay beforehand if you would have your work poorly done. '

His support boosted my confidence and belief in myself, helping me pass first time! I can't recommend James enough. Thank you so much - I couldn't have done it without your help!

Fantastic experience: I recently did my lessons with Aldo and after having a really bad experience with another company ( not transformers ) aldo really brought my confidence back to life , I enjoyed every single lesson with him he was the most positive uplifting person ever and never doubted my ability’s once. The way he taught was so fun & easy to remember which made life so much easier I’m so grateful to have shared this experience with him and would recommend him to anybody wanting to get there lessons done. Negative experience: Terrible experience, wasted so much money in the end and didn't get any support for the test. Was put with Colin from transformers and at the start seemed all good and he was helpful as I had only done a handful of lessons. I had booked intensive lessons in August as I required my driving license for a job which I was starting in September and had a test booked for 23rd September. First 10 hours of intensive lessons were good and thought they were worth it (£47/hr and £470 upfront so as expected these should be well worth it). The problems came when I began approaching the test date. I had booked another 10hr block after my 1st 10hrs as I agreed I would need more and managed to complete these within August also (another £470). However at the end of August and 20hours I was hoping to go to weekly lessons leading to my test which I felt would have been enough (and can confirm now definitely would have been), but Colin insisted I would need another 10hrs intensive course to complete my test or I wouldn't be ready. However I couldn't do the intensive as once I started my job in September I would be full time so I did a few lessons before I started in Sept and then completed 6hrs on 2hr weekly lessons, but still payed for these upfront as a 10hr intensive block (another £470) which it wasn't as was only doing them weekly. To top it off the lesson format changed that although I was doing mock tests as I should have been, Colin seemed to switch from instructing on my mistakes to just waiting for me to make mistakes so he could say I wasn't ready for the test. Every week we would do a mock test and understandably make some mistakes, some of which he would claim were serious faults and again claim I wasn't ready. Finally on my last lesson before my test he said he wasn't comfortable with me using his car for the test and should move the date! I could understand if I really wasn't ready but it seemed like he'd been building up his efforts to put me off doing the test all together and still informed me that I should do more lessons! As if I hadn't done another 10hr block on top of what I had planned because he said I would be ready by then, and obviously would have felt more comfortable doing the test in the car I practised in, but clearly he cared more about his reputation and money in his pocket. Flash forward to now, I sat the test on 23rd September and passed first time using a car I bought 2 days before, with 6 minors. None of these were anything Colin pointed out, and some of the serious faults he had pointed out were clearly over exaggerated in our lessons - Undue hesitation just for one example he claimed I did 6 times one lesson but wasn't pulled up for a single minor on the test. Clearly his care for his reputation and greed overshadowed his ability to see if someone was actually competent enough to pass the test. Save your money and practise with someone you know, all instructors just want to drag out your lessons as if you could pass quickly it's less money for them, don't waste £1000s on these jokers like I unfortunately did, if I had known he would have 0 faith in his students I wouldn't have payed a penny.

Fantastic experience: Could not reccomend transformers enough. Aileen is a superb instructor, she took me from being a weak driver to a faultless pass. She’s straight talking, extremely helpful and informative, and lovely company. Couldn’t have helped me feel more confident, relaxed, and ready for test.

Fantastic experience: I can not thank Lorna enough for her patience and expertise in helping me learn how to drive. Over time her skills and perseverance with me helped me achieve a first time pass on my driving test! I did 11 driving lessons with Transformers and it was quite challenging to make the joinery all the way from Islay to Baillieston regularly. However Lorna always went above and beyond to make sure she could always fit me in for a lesson or 2 and would also work around my busy work schedule. Lorna’s chat and calmness put me at ease from the first lesson which was essential when I hadn’t a clue what I was doing. I’d also like to mention 3 years ago Lorna had the very, (very), difficult task of teaching my mum how to drive. She also accomplished a first time pass too! My mum previously done hundreds of lessons with all different instructors on and off over the duration of 30 years without gaining confidence until she got taught by Lorna. I’d recommend Transformers school of motoring if you are a complete beginner or need encouragement or just need a couple of lessons before your test. Quick replies and their prices are also reasonable for a block of lessons too. I’d definitely 100% recommend Lorna to be your driving teacher! I can’t explain how happy I am to have passed my test on my birthday and be able to drive my car myself now! Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: Thanks to Lorna I passed first time! She’s an excellent instructor who has great tips and tricks to make learning an easier and less stressful experience. I was struggling with confidence at roundabouts and she was more than happy to back over the lesson to make sure I was 100%. Negative experience: Company is a joke, had 3 instructors they are all crackpots. One kept falling asleep and are combative when you ask to focus on specific things. The owner couldn't care less either, he's raking it in from sending pupils to instructors. Told him about an instructor messing me about and he offered me £5 off, he really doesn't care. Don't give them your money.

Negative experience: Had an assessment lesson with Gerry in the East End who then agreed to book me in for my intensive block closer to my test date. Sent a few messages over the following month to ask if he had the dates for me to which he kept making excuses and then 2 weeks before my test date he completely ghosted me. I had to reschedule my test and start again. Not cool. I'm sure the company is fine but Gerry is bringing down their reputation for sure.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test first time last week with many thanks to Alec at Transformers. I had two blocks of intensive lessons with Alec and he was brilliant. Very calm and gave clear instructions that were easy to follow. It could have been a stressful time, but I enjoyed my lessons with Alec. Thanks a million!

Fantastic experience: In need of a driving instructor, I found myself looking through a few companies before coming across Transformers School of Motoring. I was paired with Alec Wallace for the intensive driving course. From the get go I found him to be a calm and extremely helpful teacher. It was my first ever lesson and the nerves were all over my face. I did find out that I’m not the only one who struggles with clutch control, but that didn’t make me feel better. Alec was really patient and explained the process in a way which seemed simple yet thorough. I became much calmer and found myself gradually becoming a better driver. The rest of the driving lessons went really well and I done much better than I thought I’d do. Finding an instructor can be a stressful process before getting to the driving part, but trust me, Alec Wallace is your man!

Negative experience: I’ve tried to use 2 instructors from here. 1 for manual and the other automatic. I might just have bad luck as I know there are a lot of drivers for transformers but doing only 4 automatic lessons with James as an automatic instructor who has road rage with other drivers on the road and is quite an aggressive instructor constantly swearing that it’s put me off learning with transformers now as I’ve wasted so much money with them now. I done 8 manual lessons with Joe and I think he’s been an instructor for so long that he hates the job so it I just said it wasn’t working out before wasting more money on lessons.

Fantastic experience: Aaron is an absolute star my wife was really struggling with her driving and he booster her confidence and took her from struggling to a pass with only 1 minor within a month recommend him all the way if there were 6 stars i would happily give them an extremely talented instructor and even more so a great guy! Go nowhere else! Aaron is the man this is what my wife had to say… “ Absolutely loved Aaron Johnstone my instructor. All credits to him. I struggled with 3 instructors before. Aaron just over a month helped achieve a flying pass. Always wished Aaron was my first choice. No words of appreciation are good enough. He is amazing. His commitment, infinite patience, demeanour, temperament, motivational and kind words are impossible to ignore. His driving techniques, skilful coaching, steady persistence make him a star. Always there for a serious committed student, never exhibited disrespect or grumpiness. We had a good student-coach bond, key for a driving tuition. My poor driving sense around roundabouts, positioning, reverse parallel parking and road markings were all fixed by logical and tactical coaching. The joy on our faces when the examiner announced my pass with a wee minor error was a memorable experience. My examiner too was best, calm, respectful and motivating. I could go on and on. Thank you Aron now I can drive to work in 15 minutes instead of a 3 hours bus journey each day/night. Could lie in more in the mornings . Wholeheartedly recommend Arron!. Negative experience: I had spent a lot money to learn nothing. As this is my first time to find an automatic vehicle instructor. My previous instructor is a guy call Arif who only has 2 years experience. After months practice with him, he abandoned his responsibilities just 2 weeks before my test date. Actually it was my second test date. As he suggested me to cancel my first test date to have extra lessons , I took it. After it happened before my second test date, Then I realized that he just never plan to help me to pass. I heard this company from Facebook. Now I see this company has different teaching quality as each instructor only carry this company name, because of its high review in Google.

Fantastic experience: Doug did an incredible job training me up to test. He was really patient with me during lessons and the lessons were well structured. The car was easy to drive and the resources he gave me to study at home (paper based and an app) really helped a lot. When I came to my test, thankfully nothing surprised me as we had done a few mock tests. Buzzing to have passed with 2 minors and grateful to Doug and Transformers for all the help!

Fantastic experience: I had no confidence that I would ever be able to drive before I started with Transformers. Shona my instructor is an absolute credit to Transformers, she put me at ease during every lesson and is truly a brilliant instructor and I can’t thank her enough for her patience and wisdom. Fantastic experience: Amazing experience with George from transformers driving school who taught me everything in the most understandable and digestible way. I was not the most natural driver and George still managed to take my driving abilities to good standards and aided me every step of the way in passing my test with only 4 minors. Furthermore George was supportive every step of the way and even went out of his way and above and beyond his duties to help me pass my test. He was always encouraging and was an excellent and patient teacher. Could not recommend George enough and will miss being his pupil

Negative experience: I was on the waiting list from March and, by December, emailed to enquire if I was actually on the list. I was informed that someone would be able to give me lessons soon. I received a couple of texts asking about availability /to have a quick chat, then never heard from him again! Probably a good driving school, but don’t expect to be given any lessons…

Fantastic experience: Passed my practice test today! Saju was very patient and helpful and pointed to me some of the mistakes I was doing due to not been corrected before. I only did a few hours with Saju before the exam but was enough to cover some of the more complicated roads and correct my recurring faults. Highly recommend

Provided me with all the knowledge needed to become an official driver. Fantastic experience: I started learning with Saju at the end of April 2021. Today I passed my automatic practical driving test first time with him with only two minors. Prior to Saju I had two other instructors and really struggled to learn due to my anxiety and attention span. Saju was incredibly patient, reassuring and calming- he has a very therapeutic voice and does not ever shout which really helped my nerves. He is always friendly and always in a good mood. He is a very good teacher, and uses diagrams and drawings to help you understand different junctions, and to explain your mistakes. I found this really useful as previous instructors would tell me I did something wrong and verbally explain it which did not always make sense to me as I couldn't picture it in my mind. This style of teaching helped me fully understand my mistakes. I honestly couldn't recommend him enough as he has helped me go from hating and dreading driving to enjoying it :) Thanks again Saju and Transformers for teaching me to drive!!

Fantastic experience: I passed on my first attempt today with zero minors all thanks to Saju! I’ve struggled in the past with previous instructors and failed repeated tests. Saju is a great instructor and has a lot of patience, he will help you identify areas of your driving that you need to focus on and do repeated drills with you to build your confidence until you’ve got it. I couldn’t recommend anyone else, thank you Saju!!!
