GS Driver Training

Negative experience: Poor. I had to cancel my course due to medical reasons but because I had passed the cool of period they maintained that as this is in the T&C's I lost £875.00. They had no overheads at all as I had just had the medical and have not even bothered to justify this other than it is in out T&C's... Greed.

Fantastic experience: Done the class 1 HGV driving experience with Sean and oh boy what an experience it was. Met Sean and got straight to it driving a 50+ feet lorry around the track and getting a feel for the lorry. Would certainly recommend and heavily persuaded to do it again!!

Fantastic experience: I finished doing my C licence with them. The staff were great. I have only positive things to say. I didn't know the area were my test was scheduled to take place in but the trainer Ben got me familiar with the routes. All other members of the team were a pleasure to meet and learn from.

Fantastic experience: Went on an hour long lorry driving experience with Sean. Had a great time driving round Dunsfold aerodrome practicing driving, reversing and maneuvering. If you want a taste of driving an artic without actually taking the test then this was fun and well worth it.

Fantastic experience: This company came in and saved the day! After being let down by a company based in Chobham, Hampshire. I was accepted by GS (even though many schools will not take you if you trained elsewhere) I went out with Dave who was a no-nonsense straight down the line kind of guy, he knew his stuff and was firm but not overbearing, his confidence in me made me feel calm and relaxed, after just two hours with Dave in the van I felt very confident to take the test... which I passed!!!! This was a re-test, my second time around so could have gone either way; although I am convinced it is down to the instructors and the quality vehicles they operate. Thank you GS; you saved the day!!!!

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic time with GS Driver Training. Shaun & Dan were top-notch instructors, super knowledgeable about HGVs. They covered everything to ace the exam on the first try. Fantastic experience: Enjoyed a fantastic HGV Driving Experience today. A chance to drive - with no previous lorry driving experience - a 45 ton capacity DAF articulated lorry. Clear instruction allowed me the chance to manoeuvre the vehicle in many different driving situations. It requires a lot of concentration. Good value activity and it really made me wish I could do the formal training with GS Driver Training. Alas, I am retired, but maybe a return visit one day! Thank you!

These guys are the absolute best, all staff members were super helpful, really friendly and helped me pass my HGV licence Class 2 first time. Fantastic experience: Excellent Driving Training Company! Sharree was amazing at sorting out my training and driving test at such short notice and super friendly. Ben and Andy were cracking trainers and helped me to feel calm and prepared for the driving test, giving clear instructions and advice. Overall, everyone was really nice and helpful. I passed my C1 first time after only 14 hours of training.

Fantastic experience: Booked an HGV driving experience day with GS Driver Training through Into the Blue. Really excellent experience, friendly and knowledgeable instructor - Ben was fabulous and patient. Didn't feel rushed and felt like I got my money's worth. Also worth mentioning the location of the experience is fantastic since it's also the location of the Top Gear test track, and driving around the aerodrome past several jumbo jets was an amazing and surreal experience.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Helen for helping me pass my C1 driving test. If you need instructors who are relaxed an easy to talk/ ask questions then I would definitely recommend these guys. I had Helen as my instructor and she was very calm at pointing out my mistakes when I made them. Definitely 5 stars

Fantastic experience: Terrific and friendly instructors with a huge wealth of experience helped me overcome nerves from being an absolute novice to a proud pass certificate holder over 4 days.

Negative experience: AVOID! AVOID! If you want to be yelled at and belittled by the 'instructor' then this is the place for you. Between constantly texting and chain smoking my instructor Andy, gave very little constructive idea of what's needed to drive a coach. He doesn't teach you anything, just lets you drive and shouts when you make a mistake. He was a nice enough chap, but had little interest if you pass or not. He'll shout you in to a nervous wreck until you have zero confidence. I'm not surprised he has one student still not passed and on his 13th test! The vehicle was falling apart and not road worthy, the breaks bearly worked and there were warning lights on the dash. The vehicle later failed its MOT and there was no option to retake my test even if I wanted to as there was no serviceable vehicle for a long time. We are an EU company, so the office zero rated my invoice for VAT, but then added the VAT on to the price and tried to keep it for themselves. Who does this? It's illegal. I had a truly terrible and un-proffessional experience from start to finish with GS Driver Training. I relayed my feedback but very little interest was given. I'm surprised this company is still operating. At my own excessive cost, I went to a more reputable company and the huge positive difference was incredible! Overall a very expensive few days to get yelled at and achieve nothing.

Fantastic experience: The best training company ever I got so much support from Andy and the team. Due to my dyslexia I found it very hard to read and understand the theory side of my pcv training but they helped me and got me through it in one go. The driver training was amazing. Me and Andy went driving for 3 days in a row and he taught me everything in 3 days. He was so relaxed and so easy to talk to. He made the driver training more relaxed. Due to his hard work and amazing training I passed my pcv driving test FIRST time. Even to this day I still thank everyone at GS DRIVER TRAINING for what they done for me Couldn’t recommend them enough Thank you so much guys

Fantastic experience: GS Driver Training were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. A proper training centre, not just a faceless broker (they seem to be everywhere.. ) From my initial enquiry, and multiple emails (..sorry Sharree) I finally took the plunge and went ahead in September 22. Passed my theory on the 6th, and managed to get in quickly for practical training on the 12th - in only 10 days I had my class 2 licence in my hand! My instructors were Gary and Helen and their friendly, relaxed style was great - I never felt pressured, and was completely at ease the whole time. No question is a stupid question. I learnt so much and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: It was difficult to chose a new training school as I had failed elsewhere and felt the instruction was not good enough... trawling the internet, most of the providers look the same online and to be honest, the service and kit is pretty much the same wherever you train for your HGV. So, what is the difference? The difference is in the instructors. I had 'Daz' who was fantastic to build up my confidence, teach me the test area so nothing was a surprise and get me to test level, I passed first time with GS after failing previously with another school. If you are unsure about where to go to learn to drive big trucks, use this review to decide and you will be provided with a good service at a good price with great people.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant school with very knowledgeable and down to earth instructors , i unfortunately let nerves get to me on my first reverse and failed but luckily was able to re sit it the next day thanks to Helen And pass I also did my mod4 (cpc ) with baz who was very knowledgeable and thorough with the questions/answers. I would definitely recommend this school!

Fantastic experience: Naz has been the most incredible teacher to have by my side. I do not say this lightly when I am someone who came in with a lot of self doubt. Only after a couple of lessons with him I knew that I would have my driving confidence in no time. I am now proud to say I have completed and passed my practical driving test first time. Naz really is an exceptional man and I am forever grateful for the patience and confidence he has given me. It’s hard to think I could have found such a perfect teacher. Thank you Naz!

Negative experience: Most worsest place where I had exam for class 2 license, I have been transferred here from me first school because my truck broke down during exam. Driving lessons was not bad but I always have to ask questions otherwise instructor seats quiet, after driving lessons like this you easily can fale exam but I was lucky because I already know lots of things, thanks to my first school. When I finally get to exam, examiner filed me just because on roundabout I was intended to move but changed my mind and pressed brakes with small noteciable movement, (I didn't make any dangerous driving situation, I just stopped to let car go around the roundabout) and examiner filed me for this??? When I was trying to book exam retest guy who responsible for bookings didn't even answer for my message, because of this joke school I lost thousands of pounds and they left me nowhere saying that from now one retest will cost £475 instead of £200 + 2 hours driving lesson £250, excuse me sir but this is to crazy, this school staff ruined my life for nothing. P.S. yesterday I saw like big truck drived through big roundabout on red traffic lights, it's a dangerous and crazy rool braking driver and he has a licence but adequate people's like me get filed during exam just becau they think you fill not confident, I think that guy who drives through red traffic light will satisfy their confidence. I drive cars more than 10 years and have been driving through all Europe, I have enough experience to drive a truck, this sistem of teaching definitely need to be changed. It's a joke school with strange staff, 0 stars to this school.

Fantastic experience: GS is a top-notch company that is price competitive, has some of the best instructors in the area, and most importantly cares about its students. Just 2 days before my C1 test I was driving like an idiot. I hit my wing mirror and stalled in the middle of the street, it wasn't looking good for my test. However, The owner of GS DriverTraining, Gary, personally stepped in when he heard about me and gave me the best lesson I've ever had 2 hours before my test. I passed 1st time with 3 minors! Would highly recommend these guys, they'll sort you out.

Fantastic experience: Today I passed my class 2 HGV test. I was taught by Dean, who was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and happy for me to practice exactly what it was that I felt I needed to practice. He took me through various test routes and left no stone unturned. I've trained with another company in the past which was a very nerve-wracking experience, where passing a test felt like an impossible task. But with Dean felt calm and confident after just one day's training, and after that it was just about the fine-tuning. I highly recommend GS Driving Training to anyone wanting to become a competent driver, and should I ever choose to do my class 1, will 100% use these guys 10/10

Fantastic experience: I did my C+E with GS Training, right from the outset dealing with them was easy and uncomplicated. Gary advised me on what length of course was appropriate for me which was a site shorter than I would reasonably expect. Come training day I had Andy as my instructor and was impressed with his knowledge and quiet way of teaching. I was astonished to find on the second day I was in fact confident that Andy had furnished me with all the tools for the job. Took my test the next day in Guildford and passed with a single minor. Outstanding service and couldn't recommend them enough and Andy. Cheers to Garry and his team it was much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Great experience, prompt and clear communication before the actual training. Very flexible and helpful regarding dates. Gary and Dan really pride themselves at their very high first time pass rate. The training itself is well structured, supportive, the guys have a clear understanding of what the examiner will require. The instruction is always clear, down to earth, firm but always totally fair, just what's needed. The training day timings are quite flexible to the student's needs, the guys are very accommodating. The vehicle is great for the purpose. Great support and encouragement given during the test day. The 2 1/2 day package I took is also very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

Who would of thought in just 12 hours that I would be walking away with a clean sheet - certainly not me but with Gary and Dan’s depth of knowledge and fantastic teaching skills - I did! The personal touch of this small and friendly company meant excellent customer and cost effective service. I would HIGHLY recommend GS Driver training to anyone interested.

Fantastic experience: A small, growing and professional company. Gary at the helm of both the wheel and the company really puts you first. Not only does he works tirelessly with you on the intensive course, but also sends C1 revision to you for the theory and show me tell me questions. I took part in the course as a pair and he had the both of us challenged both on and off the wheel. It felt that he wants us to pass as much as we did and this showed in his teaching. I won’t be seeing him in the near future, having passed first time, but I’ll recommend him to both my friends and colleagues and happily go back to the company for a higher class vehicle.

Fantastic experience: Gary did the impossible, getting me to pass my C1, not only that but 1st time with only one minor. First starting out I had horrendous habits driving. Once pointed out and shown the right way of driving again I could se entailed my driving was getting better. Gary has a very adaptable approach. I can. Honestly say if it wasn’t for him I would not have passed. I needed the honesty, motivation and positivity when driving and he delivered to. 12 hours, terrible habits to one minor.
