Lee on the Solent Driving Test Centre

Fantastic experience: I was supposed to of had my driving test yesterday and unfortunately I dropped my driving license behind the radiator in the bathroom and sadly my test got cancelled and I was so worried that I was going have to pay and wait ages for a test again. Amazingly Matt was able to phone me later that day and tell me not only did he manage to retrieve my drivers license but he was able to book me a test for the next day without any extra cost or hassle it was amazing customer service couldn’t be more grateful so helpful. My driving instructor was Ken and he was so lovely and helpful made me feel less stressed and I passed ! Really good and helpful driving test centre.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at the Lee on Solent test centre. The staff were friendly, and my examiner, Matt, was calm and professional, which really helped put me at ease during the test. Thanks to his clear guidance, the process was smooth and stress-free. Fantastic experience: An excellent centre

Fantastic experience: I did my prior tests at Maybush in Southampton and found that the atmosphere there was awful. However in Lee on Solent the invigilators are incredible. I want to thank my invigilator (I think his name was John) for being a really calming presence and getting me through my test. Just overall a really great place to take your test and really great people.

Fantastic experience: Best experience far from all over UK the best center of driving. V friendly examiner and place is big enough you can stay opposite the industrial park untill before 10 min. Inside parking is big also and town vibe is so nice and beautiful near the airport Solent also. I passed today on my 4th attempt. Thank you so much to Chriss who was my examiner v friendly. Town is superb. You can have coffee break on center.

Fantastic experience: My instructors car had an engine problem that made it impossible to take the test at the right time. Haven taken the day off work and with the difficulty in getting a test, I explained the situation to Mark. Mark went out of his way to help out and was able to reschedule a test in short notice. Mark went out of his way to help and overall a really wonderful experience despite the initial challenge with the car.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with my examiner emily who was so lovely and really helped calm my nerves. The waiting area was lovely very cozy and not of-putting at all would highly recommend going here. My driving instructor Claire from green life driving really helped and showed me the test centre before my test and i was over the moon it was were i was having it :) would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’d like to thank Nigel, an examiner, for making my student feel so comfortable during our test this morning. My student struggles with nerves and confidence quite severely. After a few minutes and a few uncharacteristic errors, Nigel took a moment to speak with my student to calm him down. This helped him settle massively and on the journey home my student couldn’t compliment Nigel enough. Fantastic experience: Very nice test centre, offering tea and coffee and snacks even offering deodorant in the loo if you need it, the little touches really impressed me. As for my examinor I could of not asked for a more fitting tester, unfortunately I can't remember his name but he was an ex policeman. I have deslexic and his directions and calm guides was perfectly what I needed he had even read my notes before even starting so was well aware of my difficulties. Even if I had not passed I would recommend Lee on solent test centre I had tried in past with Southampton test centre and could never get a pads and felt so nervous but Lee on solent gave me a a really good exam and I felt like I had a fighting chance for once. Fantastic experience: Had a really great experience here with my examiner Mark. He made me feel comfortable before and during my test. I've previously had a poor experience with an examiner 5 years ago and it really changes the whole experience. The facilities are also great for those waiting patiently for your return. Would recommend Lee on the Solent and Mark.

Fantastic experience: I don't often leave reviews, but I wanted to add to the others here and the praise for this test centre. I was incredibly nervous and ended up failing my test today, but even so I see it as a good experience. My examiner Mark was lovely and did what he could to help calm my nerves. He was fair and explained my faults at the end which included very useful feedback for what I need to work on. The area is lovely and we even got a bit of sun on the drive, I couldn't be more satisfied with the whole experience. Although I need to retake my test I am sure I will go into it without as much nerves next time due to the good experience in Lee-On-Solent and examiner Mark.

Fantastic experience: Examiners are calm and patient. They want you to pass so don't listen to that mate of your mate. If you're good enough you will pass .

Fantastic experience: Took my test recently with a female examiner, unfortunately I can’t remember her name but she was very nice and made me feel comfortable taking my test. This was my 2nd attempt so feeling apprehensive at the start but she made me feel at ease and was very professional. Would highly recommended anyone to take their test at Lee on Solent test center. I found all staff there very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: I was incredibly anxious trying to prepare myself for my test so much so I was sick for days before I was so physically and emotionally exhausted from worry, I done so much research into the test centre that I already knew who I wanted to be my examiner. I got that examiner and I am so grateful that I did! Andy was exceptional he made all of my anxiety disappear as soon as I met him he was reassuring and compassionate, my partner came with me on my test (I had no idea he could). Andy made me feel totally at ease and I passed my driving test first time! If I could do it again I would chose that exact test centre and that exact examiner. The centre is in the most amazing area if you’re looking to do your test I would 100% say go to Lee on the Solent.

Fantastic experience: I passed my driving test on the 13/11/2023 and it was a great experience. I had a nice examiner (called Andy) and the test was enjoyable. This test centre on the Lee on the Solent is very professional and impressive and also massive. I would highly recommend people to choose this test centre for future driving tests. It’s a great area; and I think there’s a lot of integrity and fairness with how tests are done there.

Fantastic experience: I took my test and passed at Lee on the solent test centre today. I am a really anxious test taker so I would I like to say a massive thank you to my examiner Nigel. Nigel was very professional but most importantly was very kind. He really helped to calm my nerves by just being approachable and treating me like a person rather than just another test. If it hadn’t been for such a kind examiner and my fantastic instructor Hamed I don’t think I would have got my test nerves under control. I’m super grateful to both Nigel and Hamed. If you are looking to take your test I 100% recommend Lee on the solent test centre, the whole vibe there is so lovely and relaxed whilst maintaining professionalism.

Negative experience: Not the best test centre, the examiners are harsh & inconsiderate. They are looking to fail you.

Fantastic experience: Passed my test today with 3 minors. Matt smith (examiner) was really comforting throughout my test and it really helped me keep my motivation going. The test center itself is in a really nice and quite location with ample of space in parking and inside the waiting was nice and big as well coupled with drinks and snacks. Fantastic experience: Amazing driving test centre!! Took my practical driving test yesterday at the earliest time so there was a lot of work/school rush hour traffic. Considering this, my examiner immediately put me at ease from the beginning throughout the whole exam, was very clear with his instructions, explained my minors very clearly at the end, and compared to my previous experience at Poole driving test centre, it was a breath of fresh air. The test was conducted fairly, I had a great drive and passed and this was definitely due to the lovely environment where my nerves were calmed both waiting in the test centre and with my examiner who was very professional throughout the whole experience (unfortunately cannot remember his name but he was great!) Thank you Lee on The Solent!!

Fantastic experience: Driving tests are daunting and anxiety-provoking experiences. However, the Lee on Solent Centre offers a great location for driving tests with highly professional driving examiners. There is also a space inside the centre for relatives or company to wait with refreshments and toilets. My examiner Kevin was brilliant. He was reassuring from the start and clearly explained instructions which was helpful. The professionalism, accessibility and organisation of the centre is outstanding. Fantastic experience: I write this review as a parent of my child who passed her test yesterday with zero faults. Kate the examiner was an absolute angel, she put my daughter at ease (a lot different to Newport (Isle of Wight) examiners, who are quite frankly horrible to all the students). Kate was friendly, welcoming and very professional. My daughter was physically shaking at the start but Kates calm manner put her at ease, as a result the nerves diminished and my daughter drove perfectly. Lee on Solent is a very welcoming test centre, refreshments are provided through an honesty box system, all the examiners came out with big smiles to put the students at ease. But for myself the absolute star was Kate, a true professional and very passionate about her work.

Fantastic experience: The centre itself was lovely, well looked after and very organised, provided toilets, drinks and snacks for those waiting. The area is very nice, covers many different kinds of roads, including a drive along the sea, my test was just after 10am and the roads weren’t to busy. But I’m really here sing Kate’s praises, I cannot express how thankful I am, I’m an incredibly anxious person and I don’t think people understand what a difference it makes when your examiner is the perfect balance between friendly and professional (this is not my first driving test) she kept me relaxed but also very focused, resulting in me passing with no faults. :) Kate, I wish you an amazing day and hope something nice happens to you.

Fantastic experience: I had my driving test last week. It was a wonderful experience. My driving examiner, Mark, was extremely professional all through. He gave me clear instructions ahead of the junctions. His attitude made me feel calm, and not nervous. I am giving 5 stars to this centre for the professionalism of their examiners.

Fantastic experience: A very welcoming test centre with a table of refreshments for those who are waiting for their candidates to return. All operated by an honesty box system. The motivational cards on the chairs were a lovely touch too. John (recently retired from the police) was the examiner for my daughter. He was very fair and lovely and from what my daughter said, put her at ease as they set off and during the drive. He explained her two minors very clearly. The weather was foul on Wednesday which made the test even more testing!

Fantastic experience: Had nigel he was so lovely I suffer from extreme anxiety and I was so nervous he helped me stay calm and spoke to me throughout which helped sooo much thank u again having support from a examiner is what u sometimes need it was like driving down with my friend which is what I told myself hahaha thank u so much it was such a relief

Fantastic experience: Just passed yesterday with Mark as my examiner. I explained I was nervous and had failed a few tests previously due to nerves, Mark was excellent at calming me down before we went off and putting me at ease. Thanks to this I managed to give my best test performance and finally passed after multiple previous fails. Mark is a very friendly, understanding and positive examiner. I would strongly recommend this test centre to anybody looking for a good place that has friendly examiners as well as calm roads to drive on.

Fantastic experience: Took my first test here and passed. Mark was my examiner and not just saying this because I passed as I have failed before at a different test centre. He could see I was nervous and he was very calming, he really helped ease my nerves. my legs literally stopped trembling. He gave clear instructions in good time. He also explained my minors very clearly. The test centre is very good it has toilets and refreshments that require donations and generous parking for learners compared to the other centre I used. I would reccomend this test centre.

Fantastic experience: I have had my test at the DVSA of Lee on Solent. I was really pleased with a welcoming atmosphere of the center and especially their examiners. There is even small cafe inside. I want to thank Mark who took my test for his professional approach, humor and comfort given to the driver learner.
