From starting with them from January 2024 after leaving my old driving instructor I was such a nervous driver but Simon believed in me and knew I could do it he is so patient and caring and made me enjoy driving. Negative experience: Worst experience with Hassan. I have experience 7 months of driving in a manual car. I have explained to Hassan that I am confident driving on the main road. He ignored that fact that I have experienced and wanted to start from the beginning. I was opened to the idea since he hasn’t seen me drive but after 6 lessons and 234 pounds later I got sick of doing the same left turns over and over. Not only this but I was obligated to pay £39 an hour even though the location was a 15 minute drive to and back and this was taken out of my own lesson time. I did explained this concern to him and got an arrogant response. Im now with a driving instructor from BillPlant driving school and their much better!!

Fantastic experience: Huge thanks and 100% recommendation for Julie from Skillz2drive. Having started lessons with her some time back and struggled to book a test before going to Uni, our son jumped back in at short notice and Julie just came up trumps in every respect. She managed to fit in lessons for him, get him through his test instilling him with confidence and in a short period of time emphasise all the salient points that he needed as a refresher to get back on track in only a few days - Julie is completely amazing, so patient, thorough, understanding and uncompromising in her expectation of aiming high and getting everything properly executed with practice and more practice. I would recommend her whole heartedly.

Fantastic experience: Quick Glance: Cant recommend enough, guided me through to getting my license while installing good habits. - 10/10 More In-depth: Had the pleasure of having Mark as my driving instructor. Having ridden motorbikes for the last 8 years, I had picked up habits which do not translate well to driving a car. Mark worked with me to break the habits and correct them with healthy driving habits. He has a calm teaching style and really takes the time to explain everything thoroughly. This works very well in this instructing environment, helping students to fully understand the reasoning and methods behind everything. I recently passed my driving test as a result of Marks work with me and his commitment to high quality teaching. Throughout my time with Mark, he had 2 vehicles, both of which are highly maintained and comfortable platforms for learning. I would strongly suggest to start booking lessons early in advance as there is usually a waiting list for availability. The lessons are well worth the wait and have made me a safe and competent driver. I will be recommending Mark to anyone who is looking to start driving.

Negative experience: Unfortunately wouldn’t recommended. Was a waste of time and money, I had Sarah and she was extremely short with me and really impatient. Would abruptly snatch steering wheel of me if I wasn’t parking correctly, as well as raising her voice and telling me to ‘GO GO GO’ when I stalled, on a hill, at a roundabout. I kept dreading lessons and feeling so anxious about the prospect of having another one. Really would steer clear as knocked my confidence and made it even harder to get going again.

Fantastic experience: Simon from Skillz to Drive was a solid instructor with an honest, down to earth and calm teaching style that worked great for me. Simon was super flexible with my busy schedule – forgiving me for occasionally rearranging lessons when needed due to changes in plans or illness, but always showing up on time himself. I ended up having over 40 hours of lessons spread over a year, with on / off periods due to busy schedule and life events – but by the end of it I was feeling confident and calm and passed my test first time with two minors. I'd highly recommend giving Simon a go – and if you get on well with him as I did, he'll get you across the line for sure!

Fantastic experience: Passed my test earlier on today with Simon first time with only 4 minors after less than 30 hours of lessons. I started as a first time driver and Simon was so patient with me, he is very easy going and made me feel so comfortable whilst driving. He is a brilliant instructor, knowledgeable and all round great guy . I’ll miss our lessons they where made to be enjoyable, couldn’t recommend him more!

Negative experience: Unfortunately my experience with Skillz 2 Drive was ruined by the fact i was given Hassan as a driving instructor. My partner actually passed with Hassan, which made me think he was a great choice however Hassan would frequently cancel lessons whenever it would suit him and could be very moody with me if i didn't get things right straight away, he often used phrases like "this is a waste of time" I made all the conversation when getting in the car asking him how he was and how his week had been, he often muttered or grunted his response. When you do something wrong Hassan makes you pull the car over and has a go at you, on one occasion he raised his voice and was very critical, questioning if i was making any effort, i was at this point about 6 lessons in and still getting used to the road. It was as if he was paying me to drive not the other way around, everything was an inconvenience. Ive since learned a driving instructor is not meant to pull you over unless you do something dangerous to yourself or other drivers, not EVERY time you make a small mistake like positioning, these criticism's should be dealt with while continuing to drive The real problem however was that Hassan decided to firstly UP the price of my lessons for no apparent reason, as ive later seen he had a habit of doing. he even negotiated the price with me when i asked if other days would be cheaper, i later discovered this was Hassan's power trip and had nothing to do with Skills2Drive's policy. but the real kicker was when I got a text from Hassan saying he was leaving the country, and couldnt teach me anymore, I called skillz2drive and asked them for another instructor and the gentlemen on the phone said this wasn't true, Hassan never left the country and he also told me it wasn't a company wide policy to put the price up. I feel compelled to write this review as ive seen others have had similar experiences. My partner (who he taught from start to finish) has seen him since and he blanked her twice, probably because he knows the way he treated me was unacceptable, I could never recommend a company that employs someone as dishonest as Hassan. I now have a fantastic instructor with another company who is patient, kind and most importantly honest and cant believe I ever put up with Hassan's behaviour. Do yourself a favour and go to another driving school. I used to dread driving lessons (i actually thought i didn't like driving) but ive come to realise Hassan just sucked all the fun out of it

Honestly I’ve been dropped by other instructors so many times, but he believed in me, kept me in line and really taught me what it means to be safe on the road. If it wasn’t for mark I wouldn’t have passed. I couldn’t be more greatful. I’ve learned more from him in the past few months than I have with anyone else in 4 years. Skills2drive really do make it a focused and prioritized teach. Thank you so much for your help. I’d 100% recommend.

Negative experience: Not a good review, I had Hassan who was inappropriate with me in the car and asked to meet me outside of lessons when doing a lesson with him one time. Then charged me nearly £100 for a lesson when I was ill and said he couldn’t rearrange it. Also charged extra for days as when he felt like it and said it was company policy but would only tell me on the day of the lesson instead of giving me notice.

Fantastic experience: Maj was my instructor, and working with him was a huge help. I've previously driven in the US and wasn't expecting the adjustment to UK driving to be so tough. When we started working together, I was already discouraged and feeling like I wouldn't be able to pass the UK test. From the first lesson with Maj, I already felt more optimistic. He set me at ease, provided practical tips, and helped me get practice in the areas where I most needed it. I went from "barely able to park the car the correct distance from the curb" (because in the US, I'd tap the curb with my tires to confirm where it was - definitely a no no here!) to passing my test with only one minor. Can't thank you enough, Maj! Thanks for all the support.

Negative experience: Unfortunately not a good review. I had lessons with Hassan. Very unhappy person, he was stating he is getting bored and I’m waisting he’s time. After doing only left and right turns and costing me 900£ he dumped me, same happened with my friend except he dumped her right before her exam! Lucky for us we both passed our exam! Not because of him of course! Avoid him with all costs!

Fantastic experience: 8 months ago I decided to take the plunge to become an Approved Driving Instructor. Following some very helpful advice from a friend in the industry and after an initial chat with Mark Wilkins, owner and instructor trainer at Skillz2Drive driving school, I decided to take the plunge - advice I have many reasons to be happy for. Right from the start, Mark offered guidance and wisdom on the resources to use to ensure I was in the best place to pass the Theory Part 1 exam first time (which I did). Training for the Driving Test Part 2 involved several in-car driving sessions where Mark analysed my driving and helped me to iron out a few faults built up over many years on the road - advice that helped me to pass the Part 2 exam with 0 faults. After completing the required hours of extensive training (in-car lessons with supporting instructional resources) for the Instructional Ability Part 3 exam and 3 months on a PDI license, Mark helped me prepare for the final exam with role play sessions and comprehensive feedback on my lesson plan and proposed test route - this all resulted in my passing my Part 3 exam first time. I couldn't have asked for a better instructor: friendly and knowledgable, lessons paid for as you go (no huge initial costs), and always available at the end of the phone to answer any questions or provide advice. I would highly recommend Mark and Skillz2Drive to anyone who wants to train as an ADI.

Fantastic experience: I failed my test back in December and didn’t start driving again until August and my test was booked for September, on short notice Hassan took me on, I had to re learn a lot as well as drop a lot of bad habits! He’s definitely the best instructor of this area, I would 100% recommend him! Because if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have passed my driving test today with only 1 minor!!

Negative experience: The particular instructor in the picture doesn't appear to have any concept of road laws or even any common sense when parking. The picture below is taken on Haywood Way in Ivyhouse Industrial Estate, I bring this to everyone's attention as the instructor has allowed the car to be parked over an entrance with a dropped curb, less than two yards from a blind corner forcing traffic to pass on the wrong side of the road on the blind corner. Also this is outside a children play centre where lots of parents and children cross the road near where he has stopped the car. I've never had any dealings with the driving school or instructor other than this but this tends to happen daily

Fantastic experience: I had scheduled the 8.10 am test and happened to get the toughest inspector. From the beginning the deck was stacked me. Even though I have been driving for 30+ years I didn’t stand a chance if it was for the amazing instruction from Mark and the Skillz2Drive team. My sister said most Americans fail it three times before passing but after the thorough instruction I passed it with no problems. Like they say, you get what you pay for and Skillz2Drive is top notch. The team has a lovely teaching style where I felt relaxed and encouraged yet there wasn’t a moment where I wasn’t getting continuous feedback. Thanks Skillz2Drive I owe you one. William
