Ultimate Driving School provides automatic driving lessons in the Newbury area using the amazing Mini Electric. We have two fully qualified driving instructors with over 25 years of combined experience and pass rates well above the national average.

Our website also serves as a home to a valuable learning resource in the form of our Online Driving Course. This features 18 videos filmed in the Newbury area by Richard Evens, an instructor with 21 years of experience, currently a high Grade A instructor, who also holds the Rospa Gold Standard Advanced Driving qualification. Each video comes with multiple choice questions, and there are over 4 hours of footage to help those learning to drive be better prepared for their driving test anywhere in the UK!

We offer automatic driving lessons starting from just £43 per hour in the Mini Electric. With all new cars from 2030 being automatic due to the Petrol and Diesel ban, we have chosen to focus solely on automatic driving lessons instead of manual. After all, who enjoys stalling, hill starts, and clutch control?

Our focus on automatic driving lessons ensures a smoother and more enjoyable learning experience, which translates to quicker learning and greater enjoyment—key factors in our high pass rates!

Fantastic experience: Ultimate Driving massively helped me in passing my test first time. Learning to drive in my 40s proved to be challenging and driving didn't come naturally to me, so I really appreciate Richard's patience and determination to make sure I understand the basics and to equip me with all the skills I need to problem solve on the road. Richard's attention to detail meant that any issues I had were ironed out straight away; his professionalism is remarkable--he's never late for a lesson and ensures feedback notes are organised, relevant and up to date; and he is very considerate when finding time to fit my lessons around my working hours. Richard is such a brilliant instructor and I highly recommend Ultimate Driving!

Fantastic experience: I have just passed my driving test today with 3 Driver faults and having Richard from Ultimate Driving as my instructor was brilliant. Richard is a great teacher, very professional and really helped me a lot. He is not teaching you just to only pass the test but in real life scenario of driving safely in the road. I couldn’t thank enough for all his hard work, support and patience throughout this journey. Once again, Thank you Richard for never giving up on me and pushing me beyond my limits. You are an amazing instructor and I would highly recommend you and Ultimate Driving with anyone who wanted to learn driving safely.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Richard from Ultimate driving! I was a very nervous driver and tried in the past to learn to drive but always ended up backing out due to my nerves. Richard was able to ease my nerves but at the same time, push me to help me progress. Unlike other instructors, Richard actually teaches you how to drive, not just how to pass the test, this helped to alleviate my nerves massively! With Richard I was able to pass first time with two minors all while being 37 weeks pregnant. Thank you so so much Richard! - Jenny

Fantastic experience: Rich was such a supportive and patient instructor, and really went above and beyond to help me learn. The online driving course is so helpful, as well as the driving notes from each lesson. I passed first time and couldn’t recommend enough!
