Fantastic experience: Having been an HGV driver for 30 odd yrs, I decided earlier this year to take my Cat D licence. From my initial enquiry into how to go about this, Natalie and the team at Red Rose were very helpful and knowledgeable in assisting me. This ranged from sorting out the transfer of my HGV DCPC to include Cat D entitlement to setting everything up. I met Steve, my instructor to be at my initial assessment. He was honest, open and very fair indeed with the hours he indicated I’d need to sit my test - to the point that he was apologising that he’d given me 8hrs in total!! Steve is a very knowledgeable and calm instructor, who was fantastic to be out and about with. He makes you feel at ease from the outset and it was a pleasure to be out driving with him. Due to my years of lorry driving, he was critical where he needed to be, but also positive for everything else. The 8 hrs sailed by and I enjoyed every minute I was out. I was introduced to Pat for the reversing test, who was also a lovely man to meet and is part of the RR team. I cannot praise highly enough all the team at RR, and it’s not the first time I have been trained by them, having sat a CPC National course with them previously. Thank you all for making it such a wonderful experience in obtaining my Cat D licence. I have no hesitation in highly recommending you to anyone for their driving or learning needs. Negative experience: I completed my HGV training with Red Rose Training, and while the lessons and quality of tutoring were excellent, my overall experience was overshadowed by a major issue after passing my test. Upon completing my test, my examiner took my license to process the new one, but it was subsequently lost. I never received my new license, leaving me without a valid license. This caused significant inconvenience and financial loss, as I was unable to take on paid work as a HGV driver for three months. Unfortunately, Red Rose Training provided no support in resolving this issue.Instead I was told repeatedly that I must be in possession of my license, and that no one took my license to be processed after I passed…but they did! If I had it I could have avoided all of this and processed it on my own… Despite all of this and despite having a team that processes license applications daily, and being in contact with the DVLA/examiners, no one offered to assist me. Instead, I was told no one had lost my license and that I needed to send it off for processing — even though I no longer had it to send!? In addition to visiting the post office twice to start the replacement process, I had to go back and forth with the DVLA on the phone, painstakingly explaining the situation. I was then required to write a letter detailing the circumstances and post it to the DVLA, all of which had to be done during my work hours, causing even greater inconvenience…this also involved of having to pay more money in postage and application fees to the DVLA. Ultimately, I had to take time out of my schedule to address this issue on my own, cover the cost of applying for a replacement license, and deal with the hassle without any help from Red Rose Training. This entire process left me almost £2,000 out of pocket and without a valid license for three months. While the training itself was great, this lack of accountability and post-test support was extremely disappointing. As much as I’d like to recommend Red Rose Training this experience left a lot to be desired… Once I had passed my test and paid for the course, it felt like they were no longer interested in helping me. I expected a comprehensive training package that included assistance in obtaining my new license, but I was left to deal with this entirely on my own…not good!

Fantastic experience: Martin was a very professional, knowledgeable and likeable instructor. I have him to thank for guiding me through my class 2 training, resulting in a first time pass. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, always putting me at ease. Thank you Red Rose Training.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Red Rose has been second to none. From my initial emails and conversations with the friendly and helpful office team, to working with my instructor (John based at Penwortham) to passing my test, everything has been excellent. John, my instructor, who from the moment I met him, was calm, friendly and supportive. He allowed me to drive the vehicle and was always on hand to give firm, yet supportive instructions and advice on how to improve. Despite not passing the mock test with John, the feedback he gave me was excellent. This enabled me to better prepare for the test, which I passed without a single driver fault. John and the rest of his colleagues at Red Rose have delivered an outstanding experience and I would not hesitate to recommend or use them again. Thank you for everything John and the team.

Fantastic experience: From start to finish Red Rose could not of done any more for me. Every question I had they were more then happy to answer. A massive thank you to Steve who every week end for the last month has shown me not just how to drive a truck to pass; but how to be safe on the road for my new career as a truck driver. Fantastic experience: What an experience it has been at red rose. Pat is the man to look out for. An absolute legend. Honestly he helped me with full heart and supported me fully with everything, did more than what an instructor should do. He was always very calm and helped me understand everything clearly. A lot of instructors don’t do it from heart and just see it as a job they get angry, agitated and scream when you make an error but wow pat was next level, stayed calm and explained with care. Honestly I can thank him enough for what he has done for me and helped me through. First time pass :)

Fantastic experience: A very good professional company. The employees all work hard, and there is a good, positive, friendly attitude. They got me through my Cat D (Bus) driving tests first time. There's no skiving and silliness, everything was relevant to the course, because of this, I felt I got value for money. My instructor, Bill H, was brilliant. I would undoubtedly recommend them.

Negative experience: They filled in the license application wrong so that took so long that by the time I got my licence I’d forgotten the theory I’d learned. And the theory training expires after 3 months. I think my refund covered the theory tests but I’ve had no driving assessment. Waste of time and money.

Fantastic experience: Did 30hrs weekend training for cat C+E probably one of the cheapest options I found after searching around but you get every penny worth, amazing trainers, really patient and knowledgeable, made me feel confident of passing from day one. Passed 1st time, 2 minors Highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: I have just passed my class 2 and My instructor was carl, he is a lovely guy makes you feel related and calm , if you do have a hicup along the way he will just say it in a joking way but also serious way he doesn't make you feel like its the end of the world as we all know we already put ourselves under a lot of pressure without negative comments on top, i couldn't recommend him and pat anymore pat was my 1 day assessor and always checked in on me throughout the week to see how i was getting on.

Fantastic experience: MARTIN FISHER! The man, the myth, the absolute legend! Martin was my instructor this week prior to my C1 practical today and I couldn’t of wished for a more kind, caring and professional instructor. He instantly put me at ease and his anecdotes helped me remember how to handle the vehicle. I passed both tests first time- forever grateful, give that man a raise!

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience from start to finish. From theory to taster to the actual lessons and finally the test an enjoyable experience. Carl the instructor puts you at ease and with his take on sarcasm, points out where to improve on your driving to make things easier.

The whole process has been a dream as the company literally do everything for you including booking theory, applying for provisional, sorting the medical and arranging the test! Fantastic experience: I booked with Red Rose a couple of weeks back for Cat C training. Initially the theory part of the category was all booked for me and made very simple, all you had to do was ring up and give details and they did the rest. Red rose have been amazing to work with and very easy to communicate with, always keeping you updated while waiting to start training and explaining prices so they were a lot simpler to understand. On the week of my driving, Carl my instructor was absolutely fabulous! He made me feel very comfortable and was a very good instructor. He explained everything and answered every question I had (even if some were slightly stupid or repetitive!) I genuinely do not have a bad word to say about this company, 200% recommended to anybody who is thinking about going through training with them. I will definitely be back for my Class 1 licence with them! Thank you very much for getting me a pass!

Fantastic experience: I passed my HGV class 1 with Red Rose Training today, first time pass with only 2 minors, going straight from car to class 1 (B to C+E). Big thanks to the entire team who helped me along the way with booking what needed to be booked and getting me through my CPC, and big thanks to my instructors Steve and Carl. I only spent a few hours with Steve at the weekend and did the majority of my training with Carl all this week, I can't fault his training. Very knowledgeable, friendly and patient and taught me everything I needed to get through the test today.

Carl taught me how to improve every mistake and made me could get a one-take pass. Also, thank you to Natalie to take care all of the paper and admin work for me.

Fantastic experience: Highly recomended did my class 2 here in 2015, they sorted everything to get me on the road e.g medical theorys cpc training and tests. Fast forward to today 2023 came back to do my class 1 and passed with 1 minor, thoroughly enjoyed the training had carl as the trainer he was brilliant, polite, patient and put up with my nerves on test days we had a good laugh and hes a great all round guy. Just a bit gutted he wasnt there to see my beaming smile when i was told id passed on my return as he had to go on another assessment. I know its a business but to thank him personally after his hard work of training would of been nice and im sure he would of liked the same too. I Recomended redrose to hubby and son who have gone from car to class 1 and passed so thats 3 of us from same household within 6 months. The office staff are very knowledgeable and are a lovely bunch and the other instructors are all great always had a giggle with them before starting lessons. Highly reccomended for anybody wanting to use there services

Fantastic experience: I passed my HGV2 test today after an intensive training course with Red Rose and have no hesitation in highly recommending the company. From start to finish I was guided through every step and the training was first class. I had most of my training with Anthony Walsh and wholeheartedly thank him for his guidance, patience and understanding of the nervousness that goes along with intensive courses and tests.
