Ace Rider Training: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Got me on my way, calm and patient. Has a bit more of a relaxed vibe but it’s very well structured, informative and also a lot of fun. Passed mod 1 and 2 first time.
Thank you
Positive experience: Have been trying to call but no answer and no returned call. Have also emailed asking about availability again no reply. Are you open?
Negative experience: I been ringing them for a week now to book my cbt and left various voicemessge but no reply, not professional at all
Due to covid ,this location is currently not used and we are receiving 80 calls a day, so diificult to answer calls
Fantastic experience: I'm living proof. One day CBT, one day riding a 125, 2 more days on a 700. A bit more practice riding the Surrey down, and then mod 1. Another day, hey presto, full cat A licence. I hadn't ridden for 30 years, I do drive and cycle, which helps with general road awareness, although all credit rightly goes to the ACE team. Excellent instruction. We learn by our mistakes, I made a lot, it's been a steep learning curve. Thanks to ACE, their patience, great awareness of my faults, and super feedback, I succeeded. It's not cheap, but it's cheaper than buying a decent 125 that I really didn't want to be riding about on. So yeah, they'll get you over the line. I didn't expect to pass first time, but I did with no faults. That's credit to ACE, I made my faults under their observation, and learned from them. They helped me feel safe. Now I'm a novice, but hopefully with a better chance of staying alive out there. That's what it's all about, staying safe, living to enjoy the fun of riding a motorbike. Passing doesn't mean I'm a good rider yet, but it does mean I've achieved a level of skill to practice and continue to learn on my own. Thanks to Derek, Tony and Fiona at ACE I'm feeling ready to take the next steps.
thank you very much, enjoy your riding
Fantastic experience: Had an extremely enjoyable time completing my CBT today. Instructor Luke was very friendly, professional and knowledgable. He approaches training with a relaxed teaching style, making you feel very comfortable (even with minimal experience). He gives a little more attention to those who need it at the time, which is particularly helpful. Everything is laid out for you in a straightforward manner, making it nice and simple to pick up. Luke was considerably helpful at providing advice for future training etc. I can’t rate the company and Luke enough for a fantastic introduction to life on two wheels. I’m extremely excited to book in for March for the direct access. Great job, thank you! 16/10/2019 ————— Following on from my previous review... I passed my MOD1 & MOD2 tests having booked the ‘Direct Access’ training course with ‘Ace Motorcycle Training’ first time. Despite everything currently going on and all the uncertainty during this pandemic, all of us who were booked in and already in the process were thoroughly looked after. I couldn’t fault both the professionalism and commitment of Tony and Fiona. They’re dedication and enthusiasm is infectious, involuntarily allowing you to pick the necessary skills up very quickly and confidently. I would love to come back in the future for further, advanced training. Furthermore, I would seriously encourage all those looking to obtain any form of bike license to book in here! I couldn’t rate them highly enough and thank them both for a brilliant ride...
Thank you very much for your review. The wine was also very much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Very professional. Know what they are doing. I passed Mod1 and Mod2 at the first attempt. Thanks Luke, Tony, Mick & Fiona.
Fantastic experience: A welcoming atmosphere with fun practical activities and instructors providing essential information to get you on the road with confidence and mindfulness.
Fantastic experience: Ive just got back from passing my CBT with Luke. Luke was very professional with a relaxed teaching style that worked well. He spent extra time going through each stage with a student that wasn't as confident as the rest which was good to see. Keep up the great work and I'll see you for the Direct Access.
Fantastic experience: Excellent course and instructors thankyou to all of my instructors for a very nice experience. passed mod 1 and mod 2 for my full a class licence first time so am happy as Larry will be recommending you highly to my friends who wish to take there's. Thankyou once again will spend many years now happy biking thanks to ace motorcycles.
Fantastic experience: Had my CBT done with Ace Training last summer, had never ridden a motorcycle before and it was great fun! Now few months later I decided to do the DSA course with these guys again, and after few training days I passed both Mod 1 and Mod 2 for the first time. Will certainly recommend them to anyone who wants getting on with bike riding, guys know their stuff, they are very friendly and patient :) Luke, Derek, Fiona - thank you very much, it was great experience!
Fantastic experience: I had my CBT training with them. And I am very happy with the result. I did a CBT years before with a different school and I can say this time I learnt important stuff and felt more comfortable to go for the practice later on that day. My instructor was Luke, very nice guy, with an excellent manner to correct mistakes and praise when they manuvres were OK. It is nice to be with someone who likes his job and despite the cold weather it was obvios Luke was enjoying what he was doing and was really interested for all of us to learn everything properly.
Fantastic experience: I thoroughly recommend this training company. I spent the day doing CBT with Luke, Who was extremely professional, giving everyone key coaching, being patient in teaching all key aspects during on site and on road training sessions. Good facilities also. I found it best to email them to arrange the booking, they responded quickly and arranged the booking efficiently.
Thank you for your feed back
Fantastic experience: The guys at Ace Rider Training truly know what they're doing. Just passed my full access and very happy with the training and guidance these guys have shown me from my CBT to my final on road test. Many thanks and happy riding!
Negative experience: I booked a 5 day direct access course with these guys. The first day of training was a complete waste of time, spent listening in a class room and then riding ancient 125's which would fail an MOT. Then we moved onto mod 1 training. The hardest manoeuvres on the mod 1 are the figure of 8 and u-turn. However when training at this school, these two items are left until the very end of the day before the test. This makes absolutely no sense and must lead to a poor pass rate. The main instructor Tony is poor at teaching those who are struggling. I found the u-turn particularly difficult, however his idea of helping me was performing a u-turn himself and saying 'look how easy this is'. He questioned my intelligence for not being able to perform a u-turn, but personally I question his teaching abilities. Insulting the people you are paid to teach is not productive and unprofessional. The overall experience and atmosphere throughout the training was very poor. After the above difficulties I promptly failed my mod 1 the following morning. This lead to a very awkward rest of the day spent with an instructor who had insulted me. I cannot think of someone I less wanted to spend time with than Tony. When I realised the standard of teaching was poor, I requested a refund for the final day 5 of training. This was promptly refused to me and I am still £100+ out of pocket for this missed day of training. However rather than take this free day of sub-par training, I went with another provider and passed my mod 1 after half a day of training with no issues. Avoid these guys at all costs. Poor training, poor course content and above all poor human beings.
As a school we combine our mod 1 and mod 2 training. Our first day few hours is in a classroom going over test procedures and then we watch you ride to access your suitability for going on a large bike.Your mod 1 was in the morning of day 3 ,17 months ago. Although you had been riding a 125 you did struggle on the 125 on the Sunday and that is why we were unable to start the more complex things until the end of the day as we had to get you comfortable on the larger bike.We have spoken to the pupil you trained with who passed his tests first time with the same instructor. He also said that at no time had you been insulted. You were shown various methods of performing the u turn to make it easier if possible. After failing mod 1 we continued your course with mod 2 training.
It is good to know that after such a long time with more time on your own bike and after only a short time with another school you were able to pass.
We have left you a voice mail and text offering you a refund for part of the course you did not have.
Fantastic experience: Went there struggled to find it at first at the national centre but when I did was greeted by the intrsuctor and brought onto the site which was absolutely stunning and very spacious! had onsite kitchen and toilets and a big meeting room. Day went very smoothly had a newbie on the CBT course who struggled and left half way through but was offered help and no-one complained we were all very patient. ( I just hope that person doesn't leave a bad review) I struggled on my first time using a bike but now i've been safely riding for 6 years! back to the review the instructor was great went through everything quite well and was very comfortable and at ease the time there! The good weather helped! Will definitely recommend it and come back to hopefully take my full licence!
