Zen School of Motorcycling: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I had a two day course booked with Keith and it was the best days of riding I’ve had so far! All the concepts we covered were broken down and explained so well they were impossible not to implement while on the road! I can’t wait to book some more sessions in.
Thank you, Evan.
I am so glad to have helped you.
Fantastic experience: Excellent days tuition on great roads. Keith has the knowledge and experience to ensure you’ll get something out of the day regardless of your previous riding experience. Observed rides backed up with some theory on how bikes corner and what we can do to help them and also avoid the pitfalls of subconsciously fighting against them .. all in all a good confidence boost for me (even with 30yrs+ riding). Highly recommend.
Thank ypu for this lovely review, Chris. I really enjoyed helping you. Keep up the good practice and stay in touch.
Fantastic experience: I had not ridden in about 3 years and had lost my confidence so I reached out to Keith and set up a day to go riding. Best decision I made as I was going to sell my bike but one ride with Keith reversed that decision. He reminded me of techniques I had forgotten and taught me some new ones and brought back the joy of riding. I am now booked in with Keith for another session to improve upon my riding. Would definitely recommend anyone who either needs a bit more confidence or just improve upon on what they already have. Keith is patient, understanding and is happy to go at the peace you want and know exactly what to tweak to get you to ride better. Can’t wait for my next session.
What a lovely review. Thank you, Yamini. I'm looking forward to our next session too.
Fantastic experience: Unbelievable. A great and hugely enjoyable learning experience. Keith spent a couple of hours tweaking my riding position which has given me so much more comfort and confidence. Then we spent a couple of hours slow riding which was my main problem….. It’s not anymore. Thank you Keith. I’ll be back for more very soon.
Thanks for a great review, Fin. I'm very glad to have helped. Keep up the good practice. I really enjoyed our day and I'm looking forward to the next one.
Fantastic experience: Did an advanced riding day through, Firebike, Keith was very informative and gave solid advice on riding looking at furthering my knowledge with zen in the future.
Thank you, Sean. I look forward to seeing you again.
Fantastic experience: I've spent two training days with Keith in his Zen School and a few in his other classes in Essex. I always come away with a better understanding of the physics of the bike, road-craft and how I can get the most out of my riding. He's an extremely knowledgeable and experienced rider, an excellent communicator and skilled teacher. I've found him to be attentive, open and flexible. No matter what I've wanted to work on, he has always had ideas and helps me put things into practice. His feedback is constructive so I always know what's going well and where I can improve. A day with Keith is so valuable, and after each time I ride with him, I come away enjoying the bike so much more. Highly recommended and I'm looking forward to more time with Keith in the future! UPDATE: my most recent day with Keith was November 2023. It's now March 2024, and I have lost count of the number of people who have commented on how much better my riding is since my day with Keith. He is a game-changer!
Thanks for such a lovely review, Siobhan. I am proud to be one of the people who are helping you become such an accomplished rider.
Fantastic experience: Had a blast! I've been riding for about 3 or 4 years now and thought it was as good of a time as any to get further tips, and tricks and see how I am riding. Turns out Keith had a wealth of little tips and tricks to pass on which was very weird to apply at the start but by the end I was so much confident in myself my bike and the conditions (it was 2.5 degrees, wet, damp, cold - the lot). The application of all of it towards the end of the day was riding at a confidence that is probably something I would have previously reserved for a dry day so I came away completely flabbergasted at how much I was taught in a day! Keith had a fantastic plan of attack, enough stops for tea biscuits and a chat and theory time too. And was very very attentive. I'd like to go back next year and refresh and for anyone thinking about it I'd highly recommend. The pricing is also very competitive if you end up shopping around but that's not the main point, the main point is getting knowledge from someone who has had many many moons of experience! Thank you again! Cheers Patrick
Wow! Thanks Patrick. That's a great review. I'm so glad that you got so much from the day. I'm already looking forward to our next day out.
Fantastic experience: I spent an enjoyable day with Keith. He put me at ease straight away. Keith taught me techniques I’d never tried before, and which pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I felt like I was in safe hands and he didn’t give me more than I could handle. In just one day, my riding already feels much smoother and more natural and it will only get better with practice. Thank you Keith!
Glad to have helped, Bronwyn. Thank you for the review.
Fantastic experience: Had an awesome day training with Keith. Learned a lot. Keith is very patient, calm and encouraging. Would highly recommend.
Thank you for your kind review, Jane.
Fantastic experience: Great day out with Keith. After 41yrs of riding I had a bad non fault accident. My riding had become defensive and I had planned on a retirement ride accross Europe but started to think maybe my riding days were over. The day course made me think about road positions and the professional way of riding. Haven't had a day off the bike so far and have my mojo back. Funny I didn't know everything after all.
Thanks for the review, Jim.
I'm looking forward to that European adventure too. Especially now you've got your mojo going.
Fantastic experience: Good day out with no pressure, been riding for many years but doing what I found to work not what was best. Keith started on foundations and through the day introduced more techniques. Made riding more systematic and pleasurable. Going to practice what I have learned and booked another day in a months time to progress more. Great value day.
Thank you, Matthew. It was a pleasure to teach you. I could see that you were grasping the concepts, as soon I introduced them. Like they were there all the time.
Well done, Matthew.
Fantastic experience: Thank you Keith for a great and productive day. I arrived this morning with not a lot of confidence after passing my test towards the end of last year. I was lacking in confidence in certain areas that I needed help with and Keith helped me conquer my fear of cornering plus other issues. I will be returning for some more Advanced classes, so if you are looking into advanced riding or just passed your test and need help in certain areas of riding Keith will help. Passing your bike test is only the beginning of learning how to ride properly but safely.
Thank you for the lovely review, Charlotte. The improvments that we found today and the corresponding increase in your confidence were astounding. Well done.
Fantastic experience: What a brilliant day of confidence boosting tuition. What Keith tells you over a mug or 2 of tea and then takes you out to put it into practice is immense. Left today with much greater confidence and ability to ride our bikes, relaxed, big smile. Thank Zen School of Motorcycling.
Thank you for a great review Sean. I enjoyed the day too and I was happy to see how much the course helped you improve your skills.
Fantastic experience: Thanks for a great day Keith. I learnt loads, just need to keep practicing
Thank you Andy. I had a great day too. Well done for the massive improvement that I witnessed today. Keep up the good work.
regards
Keith
Fantastic experience: Great time with a great instructor/trainer Show me stuff that I didn’t think possible on a motorcycle…. Been a pleasure spending a few hours with Keith, never felt safer on my bike as when we said goodbye….I’ll recommend
Thank you Ion. Your skill-set noticeably expanded today. Well done.
Fantastic experience: Firstly thank you Keith for a throughly enjoyable lesson on Saturday. I booked a road craft lesson with keith and I very glad I did indeed. A few of my friends had done similar with other instructors and had told me of the benefits of doing so . On meeting him over a cuppa it was clear to see that he is passionate about bikes and the work he does . I’ve been a motorcyclist for many years myself and have ridden many many miles in that time but this is something I felt would enhance my riding ability but more importantly be beneficial for my safety out there on the open road. I gave Keith a rundown of my experience and area’s where I felt I need to improve. After a cuppa we set off for a quick jaunt so he could assess my technique and capabilities . My biggest problem is that over my many years riding I have become more or less institutionalise in my way of riding . Keith offered up some very useful demonstrations , tips and advice to help me basically free up my concentration levels and allow me to be more aware of the road and most importantly the others on it . I came away happy in the knowledge that I’ve learnt a great deal today and with practice my riding will only get better . Take it from me whatever your capabilities are you are never to old to learn a thing or two and having a few extra tools to work with will make all the difference when out and about on two wheels . Many thanks Keith
Thanks for this lovely review, Greg. I really enjoyed the day too. Keep up the good work and ride safe.
Fantastic experience: Thanks you so much for today's training I can feel the difference in the corners already...I just need to keep practicing and get more miles on the clock. Such a great day and had loads of fun learning techniques that I thought I knew already...you've given me loads of new tools to use and hopefully improve with further.....to anyone who wants to improve their riding skill Kieth Zen School of Motorcycling is your man....Great bloke...amazing teacher...all about learning how to enjoy our rides and get the most out of them...I can not recommend him highly enough...JUST BRILLIANT
Thank you for the lovely review, Andy. We did have a good fun day, didn't we?
Fantastic experience: So I don't usually do promotions, however: Massive thanks to Keith Dunn from the zen school of motorcycling for the advanced motorcycling training course today, which exceed all my expectations. I loved every mile of it. Lots of theory & lots of practice. Lots of putting theory into practice. Off road exercises was so scary for me and so much fun. Omg my confidence sord after. I would highly recommend any new big bike rider wanting to improve there riding skills to take a course with Keith.
Thank you Mel.
Fantastic experience: Keith is a great instructor; he listens to what you want to learn and instills confidence in you, by teaching you how things work and then putting it into practice. He goes at your pace. I booked some sessions with Keith a few months after I passed my test and has really helped to make me a better rider. Thanks Keith!
Thank you Ellie. Happy to help.
Fantastic experience: Having ridden motorcycles for over 30 years, I had picked up some bad habits and was not making the most of my days on on my motorcycle and not enjoying it as much as I thought Keith came highly recommended and I can see why. Keith will tailor your training to suit your weaknesses or your requirements and will assess you on a short ride initially where he will put a plan for the day into action. After a short ride to ascertain my weaknesses Keith laid out in an easy to understand format what mistakes I was making in my general riding. One by one using radio communication and regular stops we worked on my weaknesses and within a couple of hours I was already showing improvements in my road positioning and cornering. I had told Keith that I struggle with the longer journeys due to a lack of stamina, but we gradually made our way further afield with regular coaching stops until we had reached a destination I would never had attempted just a few hours earlier. After a lovely refreshment stop and some more laid back coaching it was time for the journey back, where those time I managed to put it all together in one go with much improved technique. I will now enjoy my motorcycling that much more and I can't thank Keith enough for that. if you are looking to improve your skills whether long in the tooth like myself or have recently passed your test and want to really start learning the motorcycling craft then you won't go far won't with booking Keith.
Thank you Wayne. I really enjoyed seeing you make such great improvements during today's course.
Fantastic experience: Keith is a great instructor, I’d been riding for 40 years and considered myself to be a safe rider, but I learnt some new skills that will be invaluable to make my riding better and safer.
Thanks Mick.
I hope you do make use of them and get another bike soon. There are some fantastic biking roads up that corner of the country.
Fantastic experience: I booked a five-hour session with Keith at Zen a couple of years ago. I learnt a huge amount in such a short time, techniques, theory, confidence building and putting everything into practice on the road. I practice what I leant every time I ride. I would recommend any rider of any ability to do the same. Don’t hesitate! The cost is a bargain compared to what you get back in enjoyment of riding your motorcycle.
Thank you Stephen. I'm glad to have been of service.
Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend zen highly enough! I went out with Keith and felt more confident within the first half hour. I was out in front for the first part so Keith could see where my riding could benefit from some improvements, it really helped my riding line, also just felt more relaxed on the bike. For any rider new or advanced you will definitely come away with more confidence than you started with! Any excuse to get out on the bike really
Thank you Daryl.
Fantastic experience: I had a brilliant training day with Keith at Zen School of Motoring following an incident where I was hit by a car and lost confidence on the bike. Keith was a great teacher and taught me how to be safer and more visible on the bike. I learnt how to make easier turns & about road positioning which I still value and remember to this day! It was money well spent and the knowledge I have gained has made me a safer and more confident bike rider. Keith as a person is very easy to get along with, down to earth, professional and a generally nice chap. I look forward to another training day in the future and would highly recommend this company to all bikers. Our safety is worth taking seriously and Zen do a fab job of skill sharing
Thank you Bella. I look forward to the next one with you too.
Fantastic experience: I'd had a break of over 10 years, so when I got myself another bike the first thing I did was a 3 day refresher course with Keith. We went through theory first, then out for a ride to assess my residual skills from all those years ago. The last two days we concentrated on what I needed more help with. It was a great confidence builder and in my opinion essential for anyone who's had a long break from bikes.
I agree and I'm glad it helped you. Thanks for this review Caroline.
Fantastic experience: Keith is the most knowledgeable advanced instructor/coach I've met in the industry. He done even a few courses free for the local motorcyclists to make us more aware of the cornering techniques and countersteering, plus his riding skills are insane! We attended as well a skills day and he was our instructor and he made us understand a lot of the motorcycle dynamics, how to pick up a motorcycle, how to do safety braking in different situations and road conditions. Plus is really polite, supportive and empowering ladies on motorbikes! Totally recommend his courses and coaching!
What a lovely review! Thank you Andreea. I'm glad you got so much from the courses.
Fantastic experience: Kieth is an excellent instructor and all round good guy. Would recommend.
Thanks Ross.
Fantastic experience: Very good at observing and improving riding skills. Well worth it for me :-)
Thanks Craig.
Fantastic experience: Excellent tuition and a great day out. A well priced custom day's course, tailored to my requirements, delivered by a friendly, extremely knowledgeable tutor. Couldn't ask for more.
Thank you Aaron.
Fantastic experience: I had several lessons to build my confidence returning to riding on a much bigger heavier machine. The sessions made the world of difference to my riding and my confidence. Keith is supportive, knowledgeable and really knows his stuff and how to get the best out of you.
Thank you Bronnie.
Your outstanding bravery helped too.
Fantastic experience: Thoroughly enjoyed my day 1-2-1 training with Keith. Concentrated mainly on slow riding.
Thank you.
Riding very, very slowly is a whole other skill-set.
I hope your day with me helped.
Fantastic experience: Being a motorcycle instructor as well I know that Keith has years of experience and immeasurable knowledge to pass on to any prospective students. 10/10
Thank you Paul.
Much of that knowledge learnt from you too.
Fantastic experience: I had had my licence for abut 6 months when I had a day with Keith and was shown how to progress safely and with confidence in traffic and around town. Also had a blast around the lanes, working in road positioning and body positioning on the bike. The day was run with what ever points that I wanted to cover and then some. As the day progresses any other area that he could see that he could help with was discussed and addressed. Even if you have been riding for years I would recommend a day with Keith, I definitely lurnt a lot that day and will be booking another one soon.
Thank you Mark. I look forward to riding with you again soon.
