Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend this training school. Having just passed my A License I can not thank John and Lisa enough for the hard work they did along the way to make sure I passed. I was unfortunate to get my test cancelled several times due to weather and Examiner strikes and Lisa was always on hand to make sure I get the next available test as soon as it was cancelled. John is full of knowledge from decades of experience and you do as he tell you then you will never ever go wrong and it will be straight pass. Lovely people all round and I had to travel from London to go to their training school because it us worth it. Best training school by a mile. Thank you John amd Lisa

Fantastic experience: I had my CBT with A1 which was a great course and we'll taught. I came back for my DAS recently, and again some brilliant training. Passed both Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time, can't thank them highly enough. John is a lovely guy and a top trainer, very clear and also super friendly at the same time. Was an absolute pleasure to do my training here, I'd have no hesitation in recommending anyone to use them!

Fantastic experience: Did CBT here recently and had an awesome day. No hidden feel or anything. Great advice both practically for driving the bikes but also stuff like getting the right kit etc. the on road portion on Canvy island is nice as well, quite scenic at times. We had Instructor Paul who was really good

Fantastic experience: Cracking CBT with Paul R last weekend - nice new bikes, good chat/support and just a good day out. Left feeling confident enough to go and ride on my own which is a good sign. Will be back for my DAS soon enough!

Negative experience: This place is advertised as being in Chelmsford. It absolutely is not. I've just lost £75 due to misinformation posted to this page.

Fantastic experience: Story time … I’m currently working abroad, but I’ve wanted to do my bike license for a while so I booked up my cbt to start the whole process with the team at A1. This meant I had to book flights, accommodation etc. Unfortunately my instructor tested positive for Covid on the day of my test so my cbt would have to be rescheduled to another day. I explained the situation to Lisa in the office that I had flights booked specifically for this test and it would be a nightmare to reschedule . Lisa managed to convince another instructor (Paul) to come in on his day off to do my training . Paul was an absolute professional , very easy to converse with and very knowledgeable about the industry. I couldn’t recommend these guys any more and I’ll be back to do my DAS as soon as possible .

Fantastic experience: A1 Motorbike training is by far the best and only school you need to consider when learning to do your cbt or direct access, I have used these guys for all my training and licences. You can tell from a short conversation how passionate this company are about their work. John and Lisa are always happy to help with any issues. My bike broke down in benfleet just before Christmas and I called Lisa and John to ask for advice and they were able to have my bike fixed with the local mechanic all in time for Christmas, these guys are the most genuine and down to earth people that will help their customers no matter the situation. A1 is the only bike school I would recommend to people wanting to get their cbt or bike licences. 10/10 on all aspects of training and services

Fantastic experience: Google connected me with A1 Motorbike Training after I had spoken with several other local competitors. Lisa, whom I spoke with was so helpful over the phone to a complete beginner like me it simply reassured me that I was in good hands. I continued to purchase the express course that consisted of 4 days training broken down into CBT, Mod 1 training, Mod 1 Test and Mod 2 training, Mod 2 Test. My CBT and Mod 1 & 2 training was taught by "Big John" who is a very experienced rider. John is incredibly patient and dished out some amazing simple pointers that made me organically perfect my technique, he managed to teach myself and another student simultaneously with ease while we had very different skill levels. I also had the pleasure of meeting Kern who was a friendly trainer and seemed like a very genuine guy. I passed my Mod1 first time although needed a resit on my Mod2 for no other fault than my own! During my second attempt "Little John" took over, he has a vast experience in motor bike training, over twenty years and was a very friendly, eccentric man. John was very helpful and caring although loves to talk, this was great for having a chat off the bikes but became difficult to understand what was important information when trying to make out the audio through the mic quality when riding. I personally preferred "big John's" clear consise instructions when it came to the microphone rides although still think "little John" is a great instructor, he also went the extra mile to attempt to arrange a discount for me with a new bike purchase I was considering! I would highly recommend the entire team at A1 to anyone who is looking for a school that will treat you like a person and not a number. I have already recommended to friends and will be happy to speak to the team again in the future.

Fantastic experience: Great training, instructor Kearn was honest and encouraging didnt make you feel stupid, would definatley reccommend, listened to his advise and passed my CBT, Mod1 and Mod 2 all first time kept the same instructor through out. Thank you for all your support.

Negative experience: I Contacted on the phone for prices and information. The woman I spoke to was very rude and unprofessional. It was a very bad experience and it was just a call of Enquire meant.

Fantastic experience: I have done all my CBT's (passed have you know) with John and ive never meet someone so bubbly in my life!, I recently Passed my MOD 1 and MOD 2 for my A2 and John helped me pass, showed what to do and how to do, all the tips and tricks to pass. in the 4 days spent with John (acting less like a instructor more of a dad(not even my dad)) Had a blasted. would recommend CMT to everyone i meet.

Fantastic experience: MODULE 1 John got me through my Module 1 after I failed with another local company (Probike) who never gave me the training for a left hand swerve (hazard avoidance). They told me the left is the same as the right, it's not when you have never practiced it, a lame excuse trying to blame me for failing! I only failed on the part I never got the training on with no other faults. I explained my frustration to Lisa at Chelmsford CBT & DAS Bike Training who made me feel comfortable from the start. I spent. most of yesterday going through module 1 with John, got to the test centre and passed with no faults what so ever! All I can say is make sure you go with a company that will cover all possibilities and not relying on luck to get the right hand swerve at the test centre. Be sure to check out Johns school he has been doing this for over 20 years and believe me it shows in his training. Thanks John I will be back to do my module 2 shortly! Highly recommended AAA+++ MODULE 2 After one days training with Kern I have just passed my module 2 test with no faults. The examiner even said it was a please to follow me. You can't get better than these guys so do not hesitate to call them up for an initial chat and ask questions. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars from me

Fantastic experience: After being messed around by two other training schools, I finally contacted this company upon recommendation from a friend. As soon as I first contacted them, I knew I was finally dealing with a professional company. I had a super day. The instructors were very patient and polite and filled me with confidence, I am now looking forward to riding my new 125cc motorcycle.
