Fantastic experience: Just passed my full A licence thanks to Vince and R1M! Vince was very honest yet fair which was exactly what I needed to get through both my tests and is clear how much experience both him and the team have. Had a great time and would recommend R1M to any future riders!

Fantastic experience: Just completed my CBT with James today. From having never ridden a motorbike to being able to go on the road (in the dark!) James was able to make me, and the others on the course at ease and comfortable on the bike. He gave me encouragement whenever I struggled and his down to earth, no-nonsense attitude was ideal for me. He always answered any questions we had. I look forward to doing my DAS with him next week! I highly recommend R1M for anyone wanting to learn how to ride motorcycles.

Fantastic experience: This company was brilliant. Having had a previously bad experience with another company who were more interested in money than training we were worried we wouldn’t find a good company for my son to do his CBT. These guys have restored my faith. Their communication was fast and detailed. When I arrived with my son they were chatty and put my son at ease. They have small group numbers and teach them how to improve, the previous company didn’t. They have a set up to allow practice on things like T junctions etc before they go out on the road. Their bikes were great. Whilst there the DVLA inspector was there assessing one of the instructors and he highlighted how good they were and how he was annoyed as so many money making machines out there. When I picked up my son the instructors went through any areas where he struggled during the day but had learnt to now do so he can keep this in mind. I would definitely recommend them without hesitation. I just wish they d been the first company we d used.

Fantastic experience: Edit added 08/08/24 I can not recommend R1M highly enough!!! 10/10!! The patience, understanding and kindness that this family run business has with all their clients is fantastic!! They do everything they can to change things up and explain every step of the way that makes the whole process easy to understand and a joy to take part in. :-) 08/08/24....... I'd like to add an update; the time and dedication the whole team at R1M have given me in my journey to become a fully fledged motorbiker has been second to none!! Today I passed my mod 2, I was in all honesty anxious to the point of making myself ill and the patience Vince and James had with me was 100% spot on; totally calmed all the worries I had! The confidence they gave me today through their thorough teaching of every aspect of the process, every maneuver the examiner would be expecting and the easy to understand Q&A's the examiner would be asking; has made it possible for me to pass this exam first time. There is nothing I would change about their teaching styles, having had dealings with a previous school I have had a very good comparison of this!

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend Vince and Alyson enough. Helped me through all stages obtaining my A licence. Very patient (which was needed with me at times!), knowledgeable and explained things well, and in a way I understood. Alyson provided excellent booking communication throughout, always responded in a professional , timely manner. If starting a fresh, would not hesitate to us R1M again.

Fantastic experience: I can highly recommend Vince, Alyson and R1M. Vince is a great tutor and teacher, and I enjoyed every second of learning to ride a motorcycle with this school. Fantastic experience: What a great company R1M is! Due to my lifestyle with looking after my kids Monday to Friday I could only do the training weekends and school holidays. But R1M worked with me, and I have passed my Mod2 today!!! ( Finally!) What a great bloke Vince is, he is very patient and works with you at your pace. With a few jokes thrown in! Vince taught me to ride but without Alyson this wouldn't of happened too. She organised everything with the training dates and booking in my Mod 1 and Mod 2. Also James came out for a ride with me once as he is doing Das instructor training at R1M and what a guy! Very professional and knew his stuff. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend, I paid for an unlimited course with another school in the area, after failing my mod2 the instructor really started messing me around, wouldn’t reply to messages for weeks, my confidence was knocked. I found Vince on google and he gave me a 3 hour lesson brought my confidence back up, picked up on some things I’d been doing wrong, he made lesson stress free and was it so relaxed. 2 days later passed my mod2. I only wish I’d gone with Vince from the start. Thanks r1m

Fantastic experience: Started as an absolute beginner and left with a full A1 licence. Vince is an amazing man, great teacher and incredibly kind and generous family man. Both Vince and Allison are both very accommodating, great communicators and go above and beyond for their students. Vince was honest, adaptable and genuinely passionate. Loved this whole learning experience and will 100% be reccommending.

Fantastic experience: After years of not riding a motorbike due to accident few years ago, and coming back with zero confidence (i had my Mauritian licence when i was very young but i moved to UK in my early 20s and had to do it again, I'm now 40), Vince helped me build my confidence again and really taught me how to properly handle a big bike, as well as making sure i understood my surroundings (I was still a beginner when it comes to UK roads). All in all, Vince has been a great instructor.. yes he was tough at times but i needed it to be honest.. He was nonetheless very fair and supportive. At the end of the day, his objective was to keep me safe.. and i did feel safe.. Vince will teach you a little bit on how to pass the test, yes, but ultimately, he will teach you how to properly ride a motorbike.. thanks to him, i became a better rider.. in the space of 1 (intense) week of which i spent hours riding with him, well worth it, i then passed my module 1 and 2 successfully.. in tough conditions as well... wet and very cold (December 2022). if you want to know how to ride a bike properly, use the road effectively and raise your awareness to the next level, R1M should definitely be your first choice.. i came from Surrey to do my motorbike licence with them (recommended by my brother) and the trip was well worth it.. Thanks also to Alyson for being so accommodating with me. i was riding the awesome yellow Honda Hornet. I liked it so much that i ended up buying one myself..

Fantastic experience: I contacted R1M motorcycle training back at the start of the year. They were super accommodating for me to split up my Full A License training around work over the last few months. I thoroughly enjoyed the training with Vince. Due to my limited experience with motorcycles Vince was both trusting and patient aswell as stern when required. I'm really happy I used a local family run company with a personal touch. Vince always made it clear he wasn't just teaching me to pass the test, he was teaching me to ride properly and safe on the road there after. Hence no rider faults on my MOD1 and only 2 rider faults on the MOD2 both first attempts. Would recommend these lovely people to anyone, you will learn how to ride well and have a laugh along the way. Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: I started with Vince with my A2 license, and today he’s once again got me through my A license both MOD 1 and MOD 2 being first time passes with an almost perfect pass for my MOD 2 with only 1 rider fault! I can’t recommend vince enough his teaching and training goes above and beyond for every student he makes sure you’re 120% ready for your tests and for the road if you’re looking for a training school please don’t hesitate and go with R1M I cannot recommend them enough and if this review page had 10 stars I’d give them an 11!

Fantastic experience: From a complete novice to passing my manual 125 CBT in a single day. Super patient and encouraging, wasn’t very confident and kept stalling at first but got a lot better, especially on the road! Some places just switch you to an auto straight away but kept with the manual and passed! Amazing.

Fantastic experience: Having just passed my A2 i highly recommend Vince and Alyson. From the initial call Alyson explained the steps and training involved. I was able to pass my mod 1 & 2 first time. There are too many schools about that just try to rush people through tests without ample experience. It is clear from training with Vince that motorcycles are his passion. Vince tailored his lessons to my ability and helped me along every step of the way. They were accommodating to my work requirements and when it got to test day, it was a breeze. Can't wait to be back in a few years for my A license!

Fantastic experience: There is nothing but praise for Vince and Alyson from R1M. Vince does this not for the money but out of love for the hobby, and he really is an amazing teacher. He got me through Mod1 and 2 first time for my A2, and I couldn’t be happier with his teaching. He quickly stamps out any dangerous habits, and makes sure you’re a safe and confident rider by the end of your training. Alyson works just as hard behind the scenes, helping organise lessons around busy schedules and making sure tests are booked for when you’re ready to pass them. Pay as you go lessons are absolutely the way to go, as if you need more time to learn then you can do that without having to redo an entire expensive course, and if you don’t need so many hours you get to save some money. It’s also a must if you have a busy schedule! Many thanks to Vince and Alyson. I’ll be seeing you both again in two years for my A license.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend the school. With no previous motorcycling experience, I passed my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 on the first attempts. My full A licence is on its way! Vince and Alyson were professional and friendly throughout my entire training. In particular, I appreciate Vince's direct approach to giving feedback: what goes well, what can be improved and how. Fantastic experience: I'm proud to say that I did my CBT and A2 License with R1M. All the training I received was very easy to follow, yet, thourough when it needed to be. Vince was very honest about mistakes I had made and what I needed to improve on, which made progress simple and inevitably contributed to less nerves on test day. You will never feel like time is being wasted, and even when you're on a break, Vince is always keeping you on your toes. Whether it be show and tell questions, or encounters you may come across while on the road. Vince is incredibly good at engaging you with what he's teaching. Alyson is absolutely superb. From the first phonecall everything was booked and I knew when and where I needed to be. All the information you'll need for your specific course is emailed to you and is very well written and structured. Overall, Vince and Alyson are lovely people and, in my opinion, the BEST at what they do. I can 100% recommend them to anyone who is thinking of doing anything with a motorbike. Fantastic experience: Well where do I start, I done my CBT with another company originally and trying to get dates in for my full bike license was like trying to pull hens teeth, so I messaged Vin and Alyson at R1M, Alyson messaged back within 20 minutes with dates and times, between us we worked out roughly how many lessons we would need and exact dates for those lessons so I could make sure I took time off work, well those lessons with vin clearly worked wonders as I passed mod1 and mod2 with zero rider faults, I honestly can’t thank them enough, superb tuition, fantastic communication and all round bloody lovely people! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Passed my full test this summer. Vince was a great instructor and made sure that not only did I have just the skills to pass my test, but that I had everything I needed to be a competent and safe rider afterwards. Vince's awareness of the road and what to do is any situation is also second to none.

Fantastic experience: R1M were fantastic, from the moment I called up and discussed everything with Alyson she arranged it all excellently. I was on a tight schedule due to work commitments and annual leave. Each session with Vince was superb, tailored to my needs and skill level-not Steve Mcqueen especially around the slalom on the Mod 1. Would highly recommend them if your are doing a CBT or like me direct access, they will help and support you every step of the way.

Fantastic experience: R1M have been an amazing riding school! If you are looking to learn at any stage in your riding career I would highly recommend the services they provide! I went through the entire riding process with R1M; I went from a non-rider, to completing my CBT and now passing the Mod 1 & 2 tests for my A2 license. From the moment I first enquired about leaning the communication has been great, they always tried to fit the lessons around my schedule and I never felt rushed into anything I wasn’t ready for. Vince is a brilliant instructor, he really tailors each lesson for each rider, working at your pace and to your ability. From the start riding didn’t come naturally to me but Vince never got impatient or fed up, he really encouraged me and even when I was ready to quit he got me through it. My experience with R1M has been great and I can’t wait to go back in a couple of years for my A license!

Fantastic experience: Can't Recommend R1M enough, I completed my full DSA with them. A really great experience from start to finish. Alyson was on the ball from the word go, with great communication and quick response. And Vince's training was second to none! From the first days lesson you can tell that you are being taught not only by an experienced instructor but also by someone that is passionate about his work and genuinely as excited as you are to see you progress. Fantastic experience: Very helpful and WORTH it. Booked my whole A licence and thanks to their flexibility I got it all done in a week! MOD 1 and MOD 2 passed first time with the brilliant training from Vince. The instructors really do have all the experience and unlike some companies they know the test areas, and teach you how to ride, not just how to pass the test. Both the tests were booked for me so I didn't have to worry about any extra hassle, very quick and easy. Sadly have no more licences to get done with them but would 100% recommend them to a friend.
