Fantastic experience: Steve is a great instructor, puts you at ease, makes you laugh. Does all he can to explain things in a way you can understand. Has Kawasaki training bikes, I used a lowered Z650, but also has ER650N, all good bikes and easy to ride. I renewed my CBT with Alex who is also a great instructor! I did a pay as I go route to fill A licence but does offer DAS courses, CBT, pillion and advanced rider courses. I’d recommend Treads to anyone who wants to get into motorcycle riding.

Fantastic experience: I had a brilliant experience with Treads doing my CBT with them last week. I wasn't sure what to expect as I had no previous bike experience, but Alex immediately put me at ease. He was extremely knowledgable and encouraged me to try riding a motorbike, despite only initially planning on riding a moped. I'm so glad he did because I absolutely loved it! He was calm, supportive and reassuring with all members of the group throughout the whole training which was much appreciated so thank you! I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking for a training provider.

Fantastic experience: Steve and Alex did a wonderful job at coaching and mentoring new riders and are both great people, all in a safe and fun environment, you will have a great laugh with these boys. Having 0 experience riding I had completed all steps in able to secure my A2 licence in just over a month, so if you are a new rider or experienced I would recommend treads 100%.

Fantastic experience: Picking Treads was a great decision, Steve is excellent at getting knowledge across in a fun and engaging way, as well as being patient and calm letting you know what needs work, or finding different ways of doing things if you get stuck. I had a great time learning and it was a good laugh. Which makes it all so much easier to learn in that kind of environment. I was nervous to begin with, but a few minutes talking to Steve put me at ease. I also had the pleasure of meeting Alex a few times, who is equally enthusiastic and passionate about what he does. Fantastic experience: From start to finish I have thoroughly enjoyed doing my CBT and A2 licence with Steve. The whole experience massively exceeded my expectations and I can't reccommend this academy enough. Steve has an excellent style of teaching which he will tailor towards anyone. He will let you progress at your own pace and will give all the time in the world to help anyone. It was immediatly obvious that Steve is passionate about helping riders to the fullest extent and will actively adapt his lessons to support any aspects of riding. Steve has a massive understanding of motorcycling and will always offer tips and guidance as to how to develop you into the best rider you can be. During and after road rides he would frequently discuss and explain situations and offer praise for good riding. Riding with Steve is confidence inspiring as a beginner because every ride is enjoyable, and I never felt daunted or unprepared. Aside from the teaching, Steve is one of the most down to earth guys you can meet and someone you can always have a laugh with. I very much enjoyed hearing the entertaining but also informative stories that he has to offer. Overall I have genuinely not met a nicer person to be around. The prices are extremely generous, and the bikes & kit are in great condition. I don't have any complaints or criticisms whatsover. For me, the Treads experience was about far more than achieving my A2 licence. I have lots of good memories, including Steve rev-bombing the Citroen Cactus! Jack

Fantastic experience: I was pointed in the direction of Treads by a friend who used this amazing academy and I couldn’t be more pleased that he did. Steve was absolutely fantastic and his knowledge of riding and what exactly you need to work on is second to none! And more to the point it was always a good laugh to be out riding with him, being able to have fun and learn at the same time is brilliant! Also a much better deal than other schools. I live over an hour away from the office and would say to anyone that thinks distance is possibly an issue, it’s not and Steve will get you the pass to your very own freedom key as he has done for me. I had some experience on a Learner bike and after assessing my riding ability they drew a precise roadmap of how to get my Full License and I passed both Mod 1 and Mod 2 within 22 days of starting Direct Access Scheme. Fantastic experience: Having just used Treads for my DAS training I can definitely recommend them. Steve has a very professional but relaxed attitude, he manages to bring out the best in you, encourages you to push yourself but in a relaxed way and gives you the confidence that you can do it. So if you are thinking of doing your CBT or DAS I'd sincerely recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Treads were the first place to offer flexibility around me (work/family commitments) so despite being over an hours drive away decided to go with these guys and I'm very glad I did. Steve is an absolutely top bloke and won't mess you around in terms of how much time you need to get test ready. Lucky for me I have experience riding so only needed one full day of training plus a few hours before each module but each ride out with him was fun and enjoyable and I wouldn't recommend anyone else. Even if you're a bit further away from Hull like I am, I would still recommend going to him.

Fantastic experience: Signed up for a CBT course on the 125cc bikes with Treads last Thursday (I had no experience with motorcycles beforehand but had been driving cars for 14 years for reference). Not going to lie, I was pretty nervous at first due to my lack of experience but Steve was a fantastic instructor, super reassuring and I could tell he was really passionate about teaching, he really made the day an unforgettable experience. Safety was a top priority and the atmosphere was always positive and fun which made for a great learning environment. Futhermore, Steve was very adaptive and able to accommodate a wide range of ability levels between our group members. Overall, it was a really amazing experience and I would encourage anyone to give it a go. I went from never sitting on a motorbike before, to comfortably riding around Beverley and the surrounding area in just a few hours. After that, I was hooked and bought myself a 125cc bike the following day which I've been using nonstop since! Thanks again Steve and the Treads Academy, I'll be back soon no doubt in pursuit of my A license!

Fantastic experience: Went to do a CBT Steve was brilliant and fitted it around my schedule! Steve was full of useful knowledge and you could tell he was genuinely passionate about bikes and teaching riders whether that be CBTs or full licenses and i would highly recommend treads to anyone thinking of getting on 2 wheels and as a little bonus probably one of the most inexpensive in the East of Yorkshire but even if he was the most expensive worth it!! I'll see you in 2 years when I need to renew my CBT!!

Fantastic experience: Steve was a fantastic teacher and created a super friendly and low pressure environment for our CBT. I had ridden bikes before, a long time ago, but my girlfriend had never been on one in her life. Steve managed to cater for us both perfectly at once and we both got exactly what we needed out of the day. Fantastic experience: Just obtained my "A" license with Steve, despite having a little experience on 125cc I was anxious about progressing onto big bikes, but thanks for his excellent training skills and reassuring approach I passed the mod2 with no faults. Fantastic experience: 100% go with this company if you want to learn how to ride a motorcycle! Steve the owner of Treads motorcycle company went above and beyond providing amazing customer service at every point during my Cat “A” licence that I PASSED first attempt on both tests. Steve has a fantastic teaching style that makes learning to ride a breeze ! The fleet of bikes from 50cc to 650cc are all in amazing condition and are clearly well maintained and are beautiful to ride (heated grips are a god send) the riding gear that is available to borrow is also great stuff ! Fantastic experience: Two weeks ago I left a 5 star review for Steve at Treads after getting me through my Mod 1, since then he coached me through my Mod 2 and now I have no need for any L Plates. Steve came by recommendation and my experience was both faultless and highly enjoyable, his approach to training you is brilliant and I cannot praise him highly enough. Passing my test is bitter sweet because I genuinely enjoyed the experience of riding with Steve and if I could give him 6 stars I would. Money very well spent and when he says you are ready, you are ready. Straight down the line guy, puts you at ease and honest (oh and he loves sarcasm)!

Fantastic experience: Recently done my CBT with Steve as a first time rider. Steve was calm, relaxed and patient! Everything you need from an instructor when learning to ride. I gained more confidence throughout the day and by the end of it felt very comfortable on the motorbike, so much so I can't wait to get back on one! Fantastic experience: Took my CBT after 35 years from bikes and soon encouraged to be confident again. Steve constantly altered his training style to develop all our skills (2 others on the course were total Bike virgins) without anyone getting left behind/bored. His calm approach and way of explaining things is ideal for the younger ones as well as us old farts (who thinhk we know it all anyway) He is constantly assessing all and developing training to suit progress. When you go on the road, he is explaining what to do and more importantly why through the headset. I have now got the Bug and waiting for son in law to take full lisence training with Steve. Fantastic experience: i took my CBT training course on the 04/06/21 and really enjoyed it after not riding a motorcycle since 1983 ish it was a really good day Steve was really helpful and informative from every aspect of riding a motor cycle and Will definitely be thinking of going a step further in the very near future. and also the lift to the bus station Steve was a massive help thank you.. I went on to pass my module 1 and module 2 with Steve, the overall expirence has been an absolute joy to do. I was so glad I picked Treads because not only do you learn to ride a motorcycle properly and safely Steve make you feel at ease. And I have to say thanks for the early morning pick ups Steve as I would have never been able to do it without.

Fantastic experience: To think less than 8 months ago I had never even ridden a motorcycle. I did my CBT which was a fantastic, very clear and extremely informative day. Steve really went all out to ensure we had everything we needed to become competent riders. There was only 2 students on the day, so it felt so much more of a personal one-to-one experience than I had expected, seeing some schools with many riders crammed into one session. I then did both my Mod1 and Mod2 Training with Steve. Which not only made me comfortable on the bigger bikes, he also assisted so much with learning more in depth details of handling and control and really helped to build my confidence on the bike. Steve was extremely vigilant and would constructively advise how to improve techniques and helped me easily fix any mistakes I was making in a really interesting and supportive way. While allowing us time to focus on the areas where we felt we were struggling, Steve found great "tasks" to perform while out riding, to teach us the techniques in a really fun and informative way. While we were riding, Steve not only covered aspects of the test. But also taught great tips and tricks that he had clearly learnt over his vast experience riding bikes. Overall, Steve is a really nice guy, very enthusiastic, supportive and an extremely knowledgeable instructor. I thoroughly enjoyed all my training, and I honestly couldn't recommend him enough.

Fantastic experience: The best experience!!! I passed my Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time with Treads. Thank You! From the first day I spoke to Steve I was completely put at ease by the process. He was really encouraging and supportive. Being a 5ft5 female I was a little nervous about the height and weight of the bigger bikes. Steve straight away gave me the confidence to go for it. Organising a time and day to do the tests and training was really easy, aside from lockdowns getting in the way - my first test was cancelled, but straight away Steve was booking me back in for another date. He was really accommodating. All throughout my 3 days' training and taking the tests, Steve was really informative and professional. He made the whole experience really exciting and fun. I was actually excited for my bike tests. His teaching style made me feel very relaxed and in control all the time. Overall a really nice guy who is passionate about his job and wants you to do your best. By the end I was actually sad that the whole experience was over. Excellent training, brilliant bikes and a top class instructor!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience from start to finish. Having never set foot on a motorcycle I was unsure of what to expect, I had an itch that needed a scratch. Needless to say I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it and the weather god was on our side to boot! Steve is an excellent instructor that demonstrated professionalism at every step, inspiring me with confidence while out on the road and on the training ground, to whom I owe thanks. I highly recommend this training school to anyone looking to get on the road with a CBT like myself with the necessary skills to ride.

Fantastic experience: For anyone after a bike licence looking for the right school, In my opinion the right choice is Treads. What you get is experience, knowledge, excellent equipment and value for money. Day 1 was spent learning about bikes, but within a very short time I was out on the 125, Steve keeps you at ease throughout and its obvious he is a very capable of instructor both in theory and practical situations. With the CBT passed we then went onto the 600’s, both the bikes are in great condition which helps with learning. Due to my job I was unable to complete within the week, but Steve worked around my needs often asking even if i had a couple of hours spare and do I just fancy going out for a ride, his love of just being on a bike is infectious and makes you feel at ease when under his instruction. The Mod 1 was pitched at a perfect level working on areas where I felt I was struggling, and on a very foggy morning I knew there would be only one outcome a 1st time pass. The Mod 2 again I had to ask Steve to work around my times, All the instruction was like just going out with a friend who enjoyed just being out, which always puts you at ease, his knowledge of the local routes and potential test routes was excellent, which on test day helped alot as the area was not local to me, again helping me get a 1st time pass I cant thank Steve at Treads enough and would recommend to anyone.
