Our comment from DrivingSchoolsTOP.co.uk about 3 Counties Motorcycle Training:
3 Counties Motorcycle Training (3CMT) is a highly recommended motorcycle training school in the UK, celebrated for its knowledgeable and skilled instructors, Stuart and David. They offer comprehensive training programs that not only help students pass their motorcycle tests but also ensure they become safe and competent riders for life.
Many clients have shared their positive experiences, praising the following aspects:
- Quality Instruction: Instructors are patient, professional, and effectively teach various riding skills. Students report that the training prepares them for real-world riding situations.
- Comprehensive Training: Courses are tailored to each individual's needs, helping students progress at their own pace.
- Supportive Environment: The instructors create a welcoming atmosphere, making learners feel comfortable and confident.
- High Pass Rates: Many students pass their tests on the first attempt, often exceeding the basic requirements.
- Excellent Resources: The school offers up-to-date equipment and thorough lesson plans, enhancing the learning experience.
However, some reviews mention that the style of teaching may not suit everyone. A few learners have noted a more intense teaching approach that can be intimidating for beginners. This feedback suggests that while the instructors are dedicated to safety, those new to biking may need additional patience and support.
Overall, 3 Counties Motorcycle Training is a strong choice for anyone serious about learning to ride, with an emphasis on both passing the tests and ensuring a long-term commitment to safety on the roads.
3 Counties Motorcycle Training: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Very knowledgable and skilled instructors that made my training thoroughly enjoyable no matter the weather. I would recommend 3CMT to anyone looking to lean how to operate a motorcycle proficiently & gain there licence.
A pleasure to assist you in passing your motorcycle test. Looking forward to you joining our social runs. Send pics of your bike.
Fantastic experience: I recently completed a full direct access course with 3CMT and the training was fantastic. They not only teach you how to ride a motorbike, they also explain every scenario you might come across on the road and how to deal with them as safely as possible. I will 100% be recommending all my family and friends to use them if they want to obtain their motorcycle licence. Thank you guys for all your training
A pleasure to work with you and assisting you in obtaining a licence for a dream. Looking forward to having you join our social rides and maybe an EU trip next year
Negative experience: I recently took a motorcycle instruction class with 3CMT and unfortunately, my experience was very negative. The instructor was extremely rude, loud, and aggressive, creating a stressful and intimidating atmosphere for novice riders. Additionally, his use of language was often inappropriate and unprofessional, further contributing to an uncomfortable learning environment. This approach is not only unprofessional but also unsafe, as it led to confusion and distraction during critical learning moments. Instead of improving my riding skills, the constant pressure, poor communication, and lack of constructive feedback made me feel more insecure and less competent on the bike. Effective teaching should be supportive and build confidence, not undermine it. After failing my MOD 2 test, I decided to change instructors and enrolled in a different school. The new instructor was patient, encouraging, and focused on creating a safe and positive learning environment. This change completely reversed the negative effects of my previous experience, and I passed my MOD 2 test with flying colors. A motorcycle training school should prioritize creating a supportive and secure environment, especially for novice riders. Instructors should be patient, clear, and constructive in their feedback, fostering confidence and competence. Safety should always be the primary focus, with a structured approach to gradually build the skills of new riders. Positive reinforcement and tailored instruction can make a significant difference in a rider's learning experience and success. I strongly recommend finding an instructor from a school who embodies these qualities and is dedicated to safety and skill development. Unfortunately, that was not the case with 3CMT.
Fantastic experience: Today I passed my DAS motorcycle test, thank you David and Stuart! As a European car license holder with no prior experience in riding bikes or driving in the UK, the journey was challenging but rewarding. David, my primary instructor, was exceptional with his patience and willingness to explain concepts thoroughly. Stuart also provided valuable lessons that greatly assisted my progress. Their approach goes beyond just passing the test; they focus on making you a safe and confident rider. Their YouTube channel was also a helpful resource in my preparation. I highly recommend them for anyone looking to learn motorcycle riding effectively and safely!
Well done Isi. You were determined to get it right (ending up with a clean sheet on test) and had a goal to go travelling. We are glad to have helped you and it was a pleasure to teach you. Remember to post some travel pictures on our Facebook site.
Fantastic experience: Today i have just passed my full A and cannot thank David and Stuart enough. Two different personalities and teaching skills, both mixed in together make it a perfect match Still have Stuart ringing in my ears probably for the next 20 years about safety and riding ability which is understandable. A good laugh and certainly a character. David is fantastic too, helped me along the road to passing with multiple tips and advisories whenever asked. They simply don’t want us to be injured or killed out on the roads so a semi- military style lesson from time to time is defo needed (a shake up wake up call) Overall Definitely recommend 3CMT and the two instructors, a full 5 stars for the full experience in total. Regards Marcus A
Well done on passing your test. You are now a member of 2% road users. Keep safe, ride well.
Fantastic experience: Great training school, teaching you not just to pass the test but to be a good safe rider after you pass. I passed first time on each test with their training, amazing pair of experts. Thanks Stu and David.
Thank you for your review Kaine. Feel free to pop in any time you are passing, will be great to see your new bike. Enjoy the freedom of 2-wheels.
Fantastic experience: I have recently completed my DAS training with 3CMT. I was well impressed with their knowledge and professionalism. Firstly Stuart helped me to tailor a training plan based upon my availability. CBT was very thorough, which ensures the safety of new rides. My riding lessons were well detailed and designed to provide a variety a riding experience which made me a safer rider. Stuart been really good and went the extra mile to provide 1 to 1 training, which enabled me to gain more confidence. Learners bikes are almost brand new, an added bonus :) I highly recommend these guys.
Thank you Ali, it was a pleasure to work with you and assist you gain your full motorcycle licence. Look forward to seeing you on the road.
Fantastic experience: I’ve recently completed my DAS with this training centre. Although I wasn’t really lacking confidence on the bike beginning this course, I feel I’ve learnt stuff I never new I required to be a good safe motorcyclist. I can’t thank David and Stuart enough for their help go get me where I am. Stuart will teach you in ways you won’t forget , David is a gentleman. But both are are extremely thorough and excellent teachers.
Hi Eric, thank you for your review. Keep safe and remember I will be watching.
Fantastic experience: Amazing environment and experience that makes me miss my training days! Having never ridden a motorbike before, I trained with 3CMT to complete my CBT and DAS. David helped me acquire confidence by guiding me through the procedure with patience. The package was significantly better than other schools I looked into in terms of cost, number of days, and hours of instruction. Stuart and David immediately gave me the impression that they weren't in it for the money but rather to help me through all the tests successfully so I could make the most of my motorbike adventure. I sincerely appreciate it.
Thank you Maria for your wonderful review. We hope you fulfil your dream of riding to Portugal and we are pleased to have helped you on your way. Come and see us sometime on your bike. Stay safe and enjoy. David and Stuart.
Fantastic experience: I have just finished my DAS course and cannot recommend Stuart and David highly enough . They are both great at getting the best out of you and making sure you are a good overall safe rider. From start to Finnish I felt I progressed in a controlled manor which helped build my confidence and eventually got me through the mod2 test after only 1 month of riding. Thanks again Trevor Jones
Well done Trevor and thanks for your review. Drop by and see us some time on your bike.
Fantastic experience: Passed my Mod 1 and Mod2 with theses guys last Friday booking was quick and easy, David was great with his training ran through everything clearly and was very thorough with the teaching highly recommended

Well done Connor. Thank you for your review, keep safe and enjoy your motorcycling career. You have many miles of fun ahead.
Fantastic experience: Could not recommend highly enough. Stuart and David are excellent instructors and genuinely care about you becoming the best rider you can be with a focus on being a safe and competent rider over all else. Coming in as a complete beginner, Stu and David organised and instructed the whole process and every step of becoming an unrestricted A-License holder. Definitely the quickest and best way to learn.
Thank you Hugo. It was a pleasure to assist you in achieving your dream of a full motorcycle licence. Pop in anytime you are in the area. Keep safe.
Fantastic experience: For someone who has been riding for 11 months. Coming in to do DAS. Was very nervous because I fell like I won’t be able to improve in time for the tests, but I have passed Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time. That’s thanks to both Stuart and David who has been my instructors for the 6 days of my training. They are supportive and WILL tell you what it is (if you’re doing good or bad) or in other words. They are honest. Very helpful and you feel welcome which helped me calm my nerves. So again thank you both, will recommend 3cmt to anyone. See you soon when my dad does his CBT.
Well done on your course and with passing your tests today. It was great to see your confidence grow each session you were with us and to help you develop into a competant rider. Keep safe and enjoy two wheels.
Fantastic experience: David is an excellent instructor, easy going and patient, Passed both MOD 1 and 2 first try, Would highly recommend.
Well done on your course. Ride well, keep safe
Fantastic experience: These guys were the best doing my CBT, instructors are very good and they even let me retake it another day for free due to a family emergency! Cant wait to due my DAS course with you guys
Looking forward to your return for your DAS. Well done in your CBT.
Fantastic experience: Thank you so much to David and Stuart. Despite me arriving underconfident at the start, David was very patient in getting me up to a standard where I could take my Mod 1 and 2 and feel confident out on the road. Very happy with the course and Stuart's efforts to find me suitable test dates despite my working awkward shift patterns! Thank you.
Well done Brigette on completing your DAS course. Thank you for working with us. Please keep safe and enjoy your motorcycle career. Remenber to pop in to show us your new wheels.
Fantastic experience: Can't recommend 3CM enough, the DAS course met all my needs, I would highly recommend
Well done today Rob. Life on 2-wheels is the best. Enjoy.
Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT and DAS with 3CMT. Great staff and training experience, would highly recommend to everyone. Thanks Stu for the training!
Enjoy your Kawasaki z. Keep safe, 2023 summer and EU tour not too far away.
Fantastic experience: Amazing staff with years of knowledge! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to do there bike training
Thank you. Pop round with the Kwaka. Keep safe
Fantastic experience: Passed both my CBT and A2 license with 3CMT. Both Stuart and David are great teachers. I passed my CBT and mod 1 & 2 first time. Also, for A2 motorbikes they use the new Yamaha MT-07 - so you have full trust in the bike when riding on the road. Would have no hesitation in recommending 3CMT to anyone. Thanks again 3CMT!
Thank you for your review, Ben. Keep safe out there on the roads and remember to pop in when passing to show us your new ride.
Fantastic experience: I passed my Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time thanks to Stuart and David. By far the best instructors I have ever come across. The lessons are always on time, well planned and challenging yet rewarding ️
Looking forward to some social rides for those cooked breakfasts.
Negative experience: Did my CBT a few weeks ago and though I passed I didn’t enjoy doing it as was made to feel very uncomfortable by the instructor. I found him to be very grumpy and rude causing me to make a few mistakes. If I have to do my CBT again I certainly won’t be doing it with them again. Though his knowledge is good, his attitude isn’t. So if you are a bit nervous and want to feel comfortable don’t go to this place!
Sorry you did not enjoy your cbt but we do not have anyone with your name on our booking system.
Fantastic experience: Great training, passed everything first time for my DAS couldn’t have asked for more. They’re a great team who make sure your riding safe and give you plenty of time to get used to the bike. Honestly a great experience and couldn’t recommend them high enough.
Thank you for your review. It was great to meet you and for us, mainly David, to assist you in achieving a life goal. Pop in when passing to show us your wheels. Keep safe and enjoy your motorcycling career.
Fantastic experience: Recently completed my DAS training with 3CMT and happy to say I passed module 1 & 2 first time. The pace of the training, clarity of instruction and quality of equipment exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t recommend them more highly (specifically David who I had for all my sessions). I would suggest to anyone looking to do the same that you be 100% honest about your own riding experience and competency level to ensure the training is aligned to your needs. Big thumbs up from me. Will C
Thank you for your review. Keep safe.
Fantastic experience: Very good instructions felt very confident and relaxed. Firm instructor but fair. (DAVE) I would highly recommend this school of riding 100%.
Thank you for your review. Please keep safe and enjoy your riding career.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend! Definitely feel like a safer rider and driver, learnt a lot from Dave during the course of the mod1 and mod2 training. Will certainly be pointing friends and family their way when they decide to go for their full bike licenses. Down to earth team, great training instructors.
Thank you Matt. David is a great instructor. Keep safe, pop inwhen passing.
Fantastic experience: Today, I have completed my Module 2 test at Farnborough test Center. This was certainly made possible with the training and advice from the guys at 3cmt, especially a big shout out to David who was my Trainor for the whole course. Everything was explained clearly and effectively whilst out riding and at the training site. Considering I had not been on a bike for many years and only then was it off road, today I went into my test feeling very calm and relaxed knowing what we had been practicing over the last 2 weeks had prepared me for this moment. The bikes we used were great and I really enjoyed riding them. Thanks guys for all your help in getting me my full bike licence.
Well done on passing your mod 2 test today. Thank you for your review. Keep safe and have a long riding career.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend 3CMT. Instructors are very experienced and are serious about getting candidates to inherit good riding habits. Lessons are challenging but fun. I was constantly pushed by the instructor to improve my motorcycle riding skills and it brought different level of satisfaction to me once I passed on my first attempt.
Well done on passing your mod 2 today, well deserved, you worked hard to achieve. Keep safe on the roads and enjoy your 2 wheeled career. If passing pop in and show your ride.
Fantastic experience: Just passed my A licence with 3CMT and Stuart as instructor. I’d never ridden a motorcycle previously, and booked the DAS course. I appreciated the very high standard of instruction and the structured approach to riding. What comes across is the passion and desire to make students not just pass the module tests, but to become safe, competent and dynamic riders. Stuart really cares about his students and this comes across in his instruction, coaching and ‘road-side chats’. I’d thoroughly recommend the 3CMT team, and thanks again Stuart. David Curley.
Well done on passing your motorcyle test with 3CMT. Thank you for your 5* review. Feel free to drop in when out 'n' about on your new steed or call if you need any advice. Ride well and keep safe. Rubber side down. 3CMT Team.
Fantastic experience: Stuart helped me in every way he could, a lovely guy and very easy to learn from. Passed first time thanks to him , would recommend to anyone.
It was a pleasure to meet you this week. Great to see you pass your test today. Well done. Ride well, keep safe and enjoy 2 wheels on the road.
Fantastic experience: Did my Direct access With Big Stu man he is a army vet so its a no brainer he knows what you needs to pass so from the start you hit the ground running lane Positioning and safety checks it can be abit intimidating for new riders but know that's when you're on the road you will be well prepared for any eventuality great defensive riding and being always alert and remember you only get out of it what you put in. So thanks again Stu see you on the road
Thank you for your review. Welcome to the 2% road users. Ride well, keep safe and most importantly enjoy 2 wheels.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant team here at 3CMT. Had not sat on a bike since my CBT but David progressed me to completing my A licence in very short order. His training is brilliant in constantly helping you to build your core skills in a well paced and structured manner. Brilliant team and will definitely be back to continue learning with them to gain further riding knowledge.
Thank you for your review. Pop in when you are in the area to show us your wheels
Fantastic experience: This was a great teaching school. Friendly, helpful and safe. Thank you so much I can not recommend it enough!
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to meet and teach you.
Fantastic experience: A fantastically run school! Saw me through my CBT, MOD1 and MOD2 on the first attempt within a very short period of time ! Had a brilliant experience with my instructor Craig, who from start to finish had been friendly, constructive and very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend these guys at 3CMT and honestly wouldn’t go else where ! Many thanks to the team!
Thank you for your very positive review. I will pass your review on to David. Ride safe.
Fantastic experience: 10/10 would recommend, had the pleasure of Stuart teaching me, had both my tests on the same day and passed first time, thank you cmt
Thank you for your review. Dont be a stranger. Keep safe.
Fantastic experience: Couldn’t recommend these guys enough passed my mod 1 and 2 first time with hardly any riding experience I learned a lot and has made me by far a better and more confident rider. 5*
Thank you for the 5* review. Keep safe and pop in frim time to time. Join our FB page and whattsapp for ride out updates
Fantastic experience: I went from never having ridden a bike before to having my full licence, with only the CBT day, 2 training days, then 2 training/test days. A massive thanks to Stuart and David for all their help, tuition, and guidance!
Thank you. Ride when you get your 2 wheels and pop in from time to time.
Fantastic experience: Stuart and David are have helped me get all Three parts of my bike test, they explained every thing to you ,in small parts stopping and running through your good and bad points helping to correct preparing you for your test day. Will be booking with them for advanced tuition in the near future, fantastic thanks Guys for your patience and help .Thanks Austen Metcalf
Well done Austen and thank you for your review. Fish and Chips on Hayling is calling, waiting for your return for Advanced. Ride safe
Fantastic experience: Booked in with Stu at very short notice and he was able to accommodate me for a CBT, 2 full days training and 2 test days with training. All in all a fantastic price and package, I felt confident in my tests as a result of the training provided by David and Stu. Would highly recommend them both. I had David for the majority of my training and found him to be extremely patient, knowledgeable and informative. The general theme and structure of the whole package with both the guys is about making you a good, confident and above all safe rider - not just about passing your test. If you’re looking for a good direct access package, look no further than C2C. Thanks guys
Thank you for your review. Looking forward to you calling in to show us your new ride. Keep safe out there.
Fantastic experience: Never really ridden before, Stu and David got me though and made me very confident on a bike! Highly recommend, passed both tests first time!!!
Great to meet and teach you George. Don't be a stranger. Ride safe.
Fantastic experience: So started my lessons with Stuart with no real previous experience on bikes. I soon felt comfortable and competent with good specific instructions. The training can be a lot to take in , but If you stick with it , you will learn a lot. A pass of mod 1 and mod 2 first time is proof. Cheers for your time mate.
Well done on your achievement. It was a pleasure to work with you to reach your dream. Ride safe and feel free tp pop in with your new ride.
Fantastic experience: Just done my das course with them. What can I say other then both instructors are worth there weight in gold. Fantastic teacher's. If your thinking about doing any of the bike licences go with these guys. You won't regret a second and you will get the best training there is. Thank you again for the fantastic training you've made a dream come true
Thank you for your review Chris. I would be very very wealthy if I had my weight in gold. Ride safe and enjoy your riding career.
Fantastic experience: What an experience, thank you for all your hard work with me. I would tell everyone who wants to learn to come to you. Dont expect an easy ride Stuart is firm but very fair. Thank you again. john Dale
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to meet and teach you. Ride safe.
Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed the training on the Yamaha MT-07 and passed the test for Direct Access, so I now have a full license. I had experience on a 125 but riding the MT-07 was a step up. Stuart from 3CMT helped iron out my mistakes, and his instruction was excellent.
Afternoon Anthony. The look on your face when the examiner said you passed was a picture. I wish I had had my camera out. You worked hard and achieved a dream of which I am happy to have been a part of. Well done. Enjoy your bike and ride safe.
Fantastic experience: Coming to 3CMT with absolutely zero experience of motorbikes, I signed up for the full DAS course - something I've wanted to do after many years in a car. I have to admit that while I didn't approach this lightly, I found it very hard work especially in the beginning. Stuart is a great mentor, extremely professional. Highly experienced with many qualifications under is belt. Clearly has a passion for riding with a drive to make you the best rider you can be. Understands and able to recognise different types of people and appreciate their various different learning styles. Is able to spot even the smallest mistakes in his rear view mirrors, literally eyes in the back of his head! Yes, you will be picked up on every little thing you do wrong, but let's face it, this is exactly what you are paying for. He is firm but fair and a very decent guy once you get to know him. Will use his bike defensively to protect you as much as possible from poor drivers. You will learn not just how to control the bike and pass your tests but also lots of anecdotal information and stories which are invaluable. The training I have been given will act as a solid foundation for me to build upon as I become a more confident and smoother rider. I'm a huge beliver that the learning process really has only just begun once you get your license and get out there on your own, which I now feel I have the skills and most importantly the confidence to do. Like others have said, I will definitely continue to hear Stu's voice inside my head even after leaving 3CMT for a while to come. So for all of this, I thank you!
Thank you. Keep safe and all the best to the family.
Fantastic experience: I gained my full unrestricted motorcycle licence today via the Direct Access Scheme with 3CMT. Stuart has been an incredible instructor, taught me a lot after only riding for 3 months prior to this on a CBT. I passed all the tests first time with Stuarts training and I can honestly say he is a top quality instructor and I am so glad I went with 3CMT. Stuart is also very personable and to the point which is ideal in improving on areas you are slightly weaker on. Thanks again Stuart, all the best. Mustafa
Well done today Mustafa. Keep safe and enjoy your machine. p.s. you can use motorways now lol
Fantastic experience: I can honestly say I have nothing bad to say about Stuart and his training. He put me through my DAS and arranged my tests using his bike. Stuart has the patience of a saint and gave me clear instructions throughout my training and gave me the confidence to complete my Mod1 and Mod2 within a week and a half, having never ridden a bike before (other than CBT). I cannot compare him with other schools but I would recommend 3CMT in a heartbeat to anyone else looking to get their bike license. Have confidence in yourself - Listen to your instructions & learn from your mistakes..... Ride Safe.
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure for you to join us to continue with your journey onto two wheels. Keep safe and look forward to you joining our rides via 3CMT Group page on FB.
Fantastic experience: I went from CBT all the way through to Mod 2 with 3CMT. During my training there was huge disruption caused by COVID lockdowns but they did a fantastic job of organising the backlog of lessons and tests and always managed to find room for me. I found the instruction and the equipment to be first class. Many thanks to Stuart and David.
Thank you Conor. It was a long haul with the current world disruptions but we finally got there. Well done on passing your course with us and we wish you a long and happiness filled motorcycling career.
Fantastic experience: Stuart is an excellent instructor. Direct, calm and thorough, he takes the time to mentor and coach you no matter your skill level or aptitude. I had a massive gap (7 Months) between my CBT and DAS and despite being nervous and out of practice, Stuart's coaching saw me pass both Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time. Not only that his instruction has made me feel much more confident on the Road and a more competent Road user. If you want to pass, and be a good rider, you have found the right place. Thank you again !
Thank you. It was a pleasure to meet and assist you to achieve a life goal. Keep well and safe both in two wheels and in your working life.
Fantastic experience: After riding around for almost 2 years on a CBT, it was about time I got my full license via the Direct Access Scheme - and I had definitely picked up some bad habits. 3CMT are all about getting you to develop good riding habits, and preparing you for a lifetime of safe riding and continual learning. Approach it with the right mindset, learn, and have great time!
Thank you. Ride safe.
Negative experience: My experience of 3cmt wasn't exactly ideal, and that's largely down to my own lack of skill on the bike; I did struggle with clutch control and had my food riding on the rear brake subconsciously a lot of the time. If I had done a small amount of practice previously of low speed manoeuvres I imagine I would've been OK. Saying that, Stuart's teaching methods aren't for the faint of heart . Often times when I would struggle to get somthing right away, or I'd make a similar mistake multiple times, he would become visibly agitated and frustrated. I'm sure for a lot of people this kind of teaching would work fine, but as I was kind of a slow learner it didn't make for the most pleasant experience. I failed my Cbt as Stuart felt uncomfortable allowing me on the roads, which I do understand and agree with if I'm being honest, I needed more time to get used to everything. If you're renewing a cbt or doing a more advanced course, I'm sure you'll be fine with this place, but as a virtual newbie it was a bit intimidating if I'm honest, and it may be worth practicing slow speed stuff before you start
Thank you for your review. It was unfortunate that you continued to have clutch control issues, having been given extra practice time on the slow control exercises. Should you continue to ride we advise you replace your borrowed helmet which was dug out of the attic and approx 20yrs old. Its well past its effective life.
Fantastic experience: I thoroughly enjoyed learning with 3CMT all the way from CBT to a full class A motorcycle licence. the training was comprehensive and the feedback from the instructor was direct and effective with plenty of opportunities to practice and correct mistakes. Many thanks to 3CMT
You are such a nice guy it was a pleasure to work with you. Ride safe, don't be a stranger
Fantastic experience: An excellent experience from starting my CBT to passing my Module 2 test. I received expert instruction throughout. Stu and the team are professional, patient and passionate with their training. Would absolutely recommend 3CMT.
Well done today Adam. Ride safe and enjoy your new purchase.
Fantastic experience: Stuart at 3cmt provided me with the invaluable service of instructing me though my CBT and Direct Access course. I was taken through a very easy to understand and steady structured process, which by all the pre-booked tests, I had learnt everything needed to know to pass, whilst also learning other key important riding processes and skills to be safe in the "real world". Stuart really made learning to ride safe and fun and is a true ambassador to the sport.
Thank you for your superb review. It was a pleasure to meet you and help you achieve a dream. Ride safe.
Fantastic experience: Really really very good, been with a few alright instructors, Stuart was brilliant, the best compliment I can give is he knows when to give you praise, and when to tell you off. Always for me it ended in a positive. Thank you Stuart.
Well done on passing your test. Thank you for your review. Ride safe and don't be a stranger
Fantastic experience: Recommended 3cmt highly. From having very little experience on a bike, with no on road experience Stuart was great taking me through DAS. Highly experienced, highly competent.. and all round great experience - lovely bikes to learn on! If you're willing to listen and learn this course is great. It's intense but really rewarding. Massive thanks to Stuart. Would absolutely recommend 3cmt!
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to meet and assist you to achieving a dream goal. Ride safe.
Fantastic experience: Amazing instructor throughout to get me though my bike test I was worried at the beginning having never ridden on a road before but every lesson I had with Stu boosted my confidence and I now feel Confident on the road and have obtained my full bike license thank you three counties motorcycles top job
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to work with you to achieve your dream. Ride safe.
Fantastic experience: Stuart provided exceptional training over the 4 days we spent together for my DAS training. He used a pristine pair of MT-07’s, which was a very refreshing change considering I was completing A2 training. Passed MOD 1 and 2 first time thanks to his clear and direct training methods, and I have picked up skills and techniques that will be carried with me any time I ride from now on! Thank you Stuart!
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to meet you as assist you to achieve a dream. Ride safe and all the best for the future
Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend 3CMT and Stuart enough, 10+ years off a bike and finding my A cat missing off my replacement license. Stuart pulled out all the stops and cajoled and 'persuaded' me to update my skills so that a first time mod1 and 2 pass via a DAS. If you want to learn to ride a bike properly and keep yourself safe you cannot go wrong. Many Many thanks Stuart
Thank you for your review. Happy to help you to having a Cat A on your licence. No level of cajoling nor persuasion will get me to jump out of your perfectly good plane. Ride safe, rubber side down.
Fantastic experience: Thanks Stu, couldn’t have done it without you. Great advice and loads of patience. Just remember to get that stand up!
Thank you for your review. It was great to meet you and a pleasure to teach you. Not really gonna be jealous of you riding the mountain passes in S France, Switzerland and Italy. Keep safe and I may pop down next year.
Positive experience: Working with Stuart at 3CMT, I've now achieved my full motorcycle (category A) licence, after 4 years on and off of a CBT 125cc. I did this through a 4 day DAS course, which included two days of training, then my Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests. Now, I'm going to be brutally honest in my review; working with Stuart isn't easy. If you're fragile or sensitive (like me!), you might find it jarring and unsettling on your first day. Initially, I found him very intimidating and frankly argumentative, and he holds some extremely controversial views that he's not shy about sharing with you. After 4 days of training with him, though, he definitely became far more personable and I found he softened up somewhat. That being said, Stuart's instruction, while seeming unconventional, worked extremely well. I went from crying (literally!) about my lack of skill at u-turning, to doing 4 within my Mod 1 without even thinking about it. I passed my Mod 2 with only 2 minors, and feel like a much more confident rider because of the work I've done with Stuart. I've given 3 stars just because I think my advice to Stuart would be to perhaps just tone down some of the controversial views as they did sometimes come to the surface and make me feel somewhat uncomfortable. However, as an instructor, he got the job done and I can't thank him enough for that.
Fantastic experience: Signed up for a DAS course here with Stuart after not riding for about 20 years. Spoke to Stuart over the phone and he recommended the DAS course. When I first got on one of the bikes for the CBT I was a little wobbly but it soon came back to me and with Stuart's guidance I was soon out on the road and the CBT was complete. I had limited holidays at work and the course was tailored to fit in to my days off. In about a weeks worth of training from 3 counties motorcycle training, I have gone from not riding a bike to a full category A licence. I have seen some of the bad reviews on here and to a degree I can see where they are coming from, but for me the training worked out ok and in a very short time I have achieved my goal and learnt a lot about riding motorbikes from Stuart. If you are looking to get your full bike licence this DAS course delivers, there are also a good selection of bikes available to use. Thank you 3CMT - you've done a great job
Thank you Phil. I look forward to seeing you on your own bike.
Fantastic experience: Good teacher. I passed both modules first time.
Thank you Jack. Enjoy your bike and keep safe bud. Stu
Fantastic experience: 3CMT are a brilliant school for all levels of abilities. If you truely are willing to commit and 'work' in unison with the instructors then they will definitely get the most out of you and achieve the goal(s) you're there for! Thank you again to the both of you, Stu and Dave! Was an absolute joy learning with everyone at 3CMT, you've made one of my biggest dreams a reality with passing my DAS.
Thank you for your review Mark. It was a pleasure to teach you. A well deserved pass with zero faults. Enjoy riding your MT-07 and remember to pop in when passing.
Fantastic experience: Honestly can’t say thank you enough to the 3CMT team. From CBT to A2 license. Such a professional manor. They help you through anything you may have an issue with, or any questions you may have. I initially failed my A2 at my own fault (stupid mistake). After a short phone call with Stuart later that evening the next test was booked and ready to go just a little over 2 weeks from that point. They don’t only teach you to pass the test but seriously teaches you some important riding and life sessions not to be forgotten on the road. All be it with some jokes and some fun. 100% recommend. Super professional Thanks again Stuart and the team for all the help along the way. I’ll see you in 2 years for my A license
Thank you for your review..Well done today. You rode well and deserved to pass. Keep.safe and enjoy your riding career.
Fantastic experience: Stuart is a very professional person and an experienced instructor. He is always punctual and has new bikes for you to have training. Will come back for some advance training soon. I am back on the road now :)
Thank you for your review. Keeps safe.
Fantastic experience: Great training and advice I wouldn't of picked anyone else to teach me through my das, thank you again Stuart.
A pleasure to teach you. Well done. Keep safe.
Fantastic experience: I completed my A2 training with 3 CMT. Stuart was a brilliant instructor, he gave great instructions and constructive feedback which brought my riding up to scratch for my tests. The bikes, Yamaha MT-07, were great bikes to learn on. Thank you 3CMT
Well done this week. You deserved to pass with some great riding.
Fantastic experience: Stuart and David, are, great teachers/instructors. They're a gr8 laugh, however when it comes to actually - paying attention, make sure you do, as Stuart will nail you if you don't... All in all it was a gr8 day. I had fun, and will be doing my DAS with Stuart and Dave very soon!
Haha thanks for the review. We look forward to helping you to a full licence.
Fantastic experience: I took the full Direct Access course after 30yrs since I was on a bike. The truth? It's not 'walk in and a guaranteed pass' course and that is all to its credit. You have to work to pass this. The instructors are there with you all the way but they will push you hard and do not let anything slip. So if you want to not only pass your CBT or DAS and want lessons that you can use for the rest of your motorcycling career then step up. However, if you think you'll get a free ride then think again. These guys know their jobs and they're invested in making you a safe rider as well as teaching you how to pass. Best of luck.
Thank you for your positive review. Ride safe and remember where we are if you ever need advice.
Fantastic experience: Really good place with great teachers. Thanks for being patient with me and Prakesh!
Thank you for your review. Keep safe on the roads and enjoy the freedom of being out there on 2 wheels.
Fantastic experience: I contacted Stuart at 3CMT after getting back into biking from a 4 yr break. Being slightly nervous I wasn't quite sure how long it would take for me to get the feel of the bike back and didn't know how much would come flooding back to me. Suffice to say Stuart gave me a full brief and talked me through the basics again. He built my confidence back up on some town work and then took me on some faster roads where I soon remembered the reason I enjoyed riding in the first place! His comms were useful throughout and his tips on positioning stayed with me. The day was going well until I forgot that roundabouts are there to go around and not ride across, even if it was a small one! Seriously, can't recommend enough and when I get my new bike in a few weeks I'll be looking to join Stuart for one of his planned tours. Great value for money and service from someone who actually takes a personal interest and cares about the customer. Thanks Stuart!
I really enjoyed the 'back to biking' session with you Gassan. It was great to see your confidence build as the day progressed and watch as newly taught skills being implemented into your ride. You will be very welcome to join one of my tours. Wishing you all the best on your GS1250 when she arrives, look forward to meeting her. Keep safe Stuart
Fantastic experience: Thank you so much. Any establishment that can help an old git like me pass with a clean sheet can only be termed as miracle workers. I really enjoyed my course with your company and was pleased to watch your excellent staff help disparate and sometimes difficult trainees to overcome their fears, repair their 'bad habits' and turn into safe bikers during their time with you. A1 and worth every penny!
Thank you for your positive compliments. It was a pleasure to teach you and we look forward to seeing you out on your machine, maybe meet for a social ride.
Fantastic experience: I did my CBT and A2 with Stuart, awesome experience and he teaches you riding skills for life not just your test. Will help make sure bad habits and mistakes are corrected. Passed first time on both.
Hi Liam. Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to teach you and watch you develop into a confident and very competant motorcyclist. Ride safe. Stu
Fantastic experience: Fantastic instructors who have not only got me through my full motorcycle license tests, but have raised my general awareness on the road as a car driver also. I couldn't recommend them highly enough!
Thank you for your review Ben. It was a pleasure to assist you to a full licence.
Fantastic experience: I done my Direct access course with Stuart and David having not ever ridden a bike at all within two days riding on a 125 cc and then only four lessons on a 600 cc I passed my full bike license with only one minor. I can’t thank Stuart and Dave enough for the expert tuition and knowledge they installed in me for me to pass and would highly recommend them to any one thinking about taking there test .
Thank you for your review Craig. I look forward to the odd summer evening or weekend ride out with you. Keep safe.
Negative experience: Echoe Chris Wright's review below, would not recommend Edit after response below: Yes this isn't my full name. To add clarity to my review, I would not recommend 3C due to the teaching methods and facilities. Example: I was was struggling to grasp the figure of 8. Teaching method was for him to get on his bigger bike and do the figure of 8 and say if I can do it on that you can do it on a smaller bike ?!?! I ended up looking online at home for teaching tips. Example: The disused carpark you do these drills in is full of rubbish and glass I'm disappointed as someone who I was riding with at the time echoed many of my comments but passed and gave a 5 star review. I passed too but would have completely changed training company if I had failed. I do believe he wants his students to pass and don't become safe and accomplished riders but I do not agree with the methods that are used. I have a military background and still don't agree!
Dont know who 'Jim' is. Never received any complaint from him. Possibly a false name.
Fantastic experience: On the 1st of September I took the plunge in to my CBT after 36 years of being on this planet. I had been driving for nearly 19 years. Over those years I have driven cars of various shapes and sizes, vans and 3.5t Luton vans in and around the UK and all of the major cities, so figured doing my DAS should be fairly straight forward. On the 3rd October, with one failed and 1 passed Mod 1 under my belt, I passed my Mod 2 with only 2 minors. Dave and Stu on the CBT were exceptional. Our group had 1 16yr old and 3 "mature" students. We all got through with the expert guidance from 3CMT. Moving on to the DAS, Stu was relentless at making sure we did everything right. He took time to explain to us why, usually by making sure we were aware of the dangers of not doing it the right way. If you missed a lifesaver, left your indicator on, wasn't planning ahead, he knew and he made sure you knew too. At the time it can feel frustrating. In reality, Stu isn't just teaching you how to pass your test, he is teaching you how to pass your test AND giving you the best possible chance to stay live. There's a lot of things out there that are seemingly out to kill people on motorbikes. With Stu's training, you learn how to spot them and avoid them 99.99% of the time. If you are not committed to passing; are flippant about the importance of safety; or need to be mollycoddled and given lots of positive praise just for remembering to breathe by yourself, 3CMT (and probably motorcycling in general) is not for you. If you want to give yourself the best possible chance at passing AND being safe on the road, Stu and 3CMT should be your 1st port of call. Thank you Dave and Stu for your excellent training! Not only have I attained a full, unrestricted licence, I feel like I am a safer motorist all around, not just on a bike. I am now enjoying the delights of a Triumph Tiger 800 XRX!
Thank you Kevin for your comments. It was great to see you today when you proudly brought your Triumph Tiger 800 round to show me. You did well during your training and i am confident you now have the skills in place to enjoy many years riding. I look forward to seeing you out and about. Rubber side down!
Fantastic experience: Stewart is a great instructor, tells you like it is, which is what you need when you're on two wheels
Thank You for your feedback.
Fantastic experience: Given I’ve been a car driver for 25 years, the weather during training was atrocious, and I failed my first Mod 1 due to my own ridiculous mistake, getting me through full training was no easy task. However, second time around I passed both Mod 1 and 2 without fault - which is testament to the effectiveness of Stuart’s training. For straightforward and effective training that will turn you into a good and safe motorcycle training, speak to Stuart at 3 Counties!
Thank you for your review. Ride safe and remember should you need any advice we are only a phone call away. Stu
Fantastic experience: Just to say if it wasn't for Stuart's knowledge and training I would never off passed. Would recommend 3CMT to anyone if they want to pass there bike test.
Thank you for your review Simon. Keep safe and enjoy two wheels.
Fantastic experience: Stuart's training and teaching was excellent. I had to do my CBT with another company and had quite a few things to pick up on when I started training at 3CMT. I was certainly a much better rider ( and driver ) after my tuition. I passed both tests on the first occasion and am very happy with the overall experience. It was fun aswell. Thank you very much
Thank you for your review. Ride safe and remember to pop in, we would like to meet your new bike. Stu
Negative experience: I would echo what Max Charman has said . Had a very poor experience with an impatient rude instructor who at one point threatend me . This was several years back and I’m only now looking to re take a bike course . Payed for a 5 day full licence course , failed the CBT part on the first day , thus giving the instructor the rest of the week of on my money . In fareness to the instructor I was poorer than I would of expected but the general attitude of the instructor did NOT help , and would not recommend to any one .
Wow a review from a course attended in October 2006. I had to look through my archives to locate your information. As I can see you struggled during your CBT. You would never have been threatened as you claim. Extract from letter below. 'As part of your CBT we had completed a number of exercises and verbal advice in accordance with regulations laid down by the DSA. This included me talking you through how to negotiate round-a-bouts, after which you told me you were happy with what you had achieved to this stage and understood all the exercises and advice given. During the road ride part of the CBT we had to stop on a number of occasions to discuss your total lack of hazard awareness and knowledge of priorities at junctions and round-a-bouts. On a number of occasions you were given the instruction to take exit 1 left at the round-a-bout to which you applied your left indicator. What you did then was anyone’s guess. On the first you took exit 3, right, on the second and third you took exit two, following the road ahead. Even when given instructions over the radio to try and assist you get the manoeuvre correct, you continued to ride as you wished. When you exited right from the junction of the A327 onto the A30 you pulled out in front of a car which had to brake very aggressively to avoid making contact with you. The speed limit at this junction is 70mph. On one occasion as we travelled along Fleet High Street a traffic light controlled pedestrian crossing’s light changed to red and you should have stopped. Yet again despite me telling you on the radio to stop you continued through as pedestrians stepped on to the road. We then left Fleet and travelled north on the Minley Road. This is a twisty section of road and I gave instructions over the radio on how to negotiate the bends. On one right hand bend you drifted wide and caught the verge at the side of the road. This was due to ‘target fixation’ (looking in the wrong direction) and easing ‘off’ the throttle despite advice on how to travel the bend safely. 'I did not deny you to attend the remaining 4-days, you chose not to attend and told me so on the day of your CBT as a result of the road ride. You chose not to continue with the course. You could have continued with the course and hopefully attained the standard within another day or two.' Moving forward I would advise attending a cbt initially to see how you do, once completed then consider the rest of a course. I wish you all the best for the future.
Negative experience: Had a very bad experience. Stuart was rude, abusive and impatient and I had great difficulty learning. He spent more time critisizing me and swearing than he did teaching. Did not pass after both times although this was partially due to fault of my own. They also charged a considerable amount more to resit my cbt than other local competitors. It also took me 3 weeks to rebook my CBT, however other instructors in the area will have you back the next day for over £30 cheaper! I never review places like this but my experience was so exceptionally bad I highly recommend you avoid. Edit: I stated that it was due to fault of my own. What is your point...?
The reason you did not pass either of your attempts at your CBT was simply you were not good enough. On your 1st attempt you did had to spend extra time on the training site trying to pass element C, your machine control was poor, often stalling when trying to pull away and inconsistant in your machine handling. On your 2nd attempt you attended and completed more site (element C) time. This allowed you to reach a general control standard to go onto the road. During your 2 3/4 hour road ride your observations were severly lacking. 1. Despite road side debriefs and advice over the radio talking you through the correct procedures, you never once checked it was safe to move off and rarely did a lifesaver prior to any significant change of direction or position within you lane ie passing parked vehicles. 2. Planning - Due to a lack of observations your planning suffered. You did not respond to other road users and hazards. 3. Speed - your use of speed was random in the fact you seemed to rarely actually know what the speed limit was. You just 'rode' down the road most of the time significantly under the speed limit putting yourself and others at potential risk and at other times you were speeding and needed to be advised of the speed limit. 4. Inappropriate use of the brakes. The brake levers are not finger rests. As a result of you leaving your fingers on the leavers you often displayed a brake light without actually reducing speed. The risk here is following vehicles soon start to 'ignore' your brake light. Whgen you actually use it therre is greater risk of them runing into the rear of your machine. You signed a debrief declaration accepting your faults and why a cbt cert was not issued on both occassions. You were fully aware of the lead time for a return slot and the cost involved, which you accepted. Most students manage the CBT in a single day. It is an ongoing training and assessment day. The instructors are more than happy to explain, demonstrate and give feedback to allow you to improve. If you fail to listen and take on board the advice of the instructors there is only one person to blame - YOU.
Fantastic experience: I had my accelerated DAS training with Stuart about a year ago, and would highly recommend him as an instructor. It is not only me, after my training, my wife did her CBT with his school, and also was pleased with the level of training. If she ever decides to get onto a bigger bike, I am sure we'd go back to Stuart. Hi has his own, somewhat unorhodox way of teaching, but he does know his stuff: he will make sure you ride to a much higher standard than you need to pass the test.
Fantastic experience: Although I didnt pass my test that was due to my own fault and nothing to reflect on the instructor. Stuart was knowledgeable and made it fun and relaxed. Bikes are not toys but are dangerous vehicles which can kill you at the first mistake but Stu made sure you were confident in your skills before he would let you progress. A great laugh, a fantastic tutor and a brilliant experience. When i have my finances back in order i will be doing my lessons again
Thank you for your review. Keep safe and i look forward to seeing you again soon.
Fantastic experience: I took my DAS course with Stuart last year and to be honest I don't think I would of passed without his indepth knowledge and teaching style. Not only did he teach you things to get you through your test but also teaches you things for every day riding and to stay safe, of which I use daily on my commute into London. The only bad thing if any is he is so enthusiastic about motorbike riding that it's infectious and I now have a small collection of bikes too, with quite possibly more on the way. I can't recommend 3CMT and Stuart enough, brilliant instructor and service. Thank you once again 3CMT.
Fantastic experience: I sat on a motorbike for the 1st time on Saturday 29/10/16 and I passed the Mod 2, obtaining my full license, on Thursday 24/11/16. I should have passed 10 days earlier but failed my initial Mod 2 due to a single major that was clearly my fault. Without question the fact that I went from novice to having a full license in less than a month was Mr McGifford. I am 51 years old and was nervous about learning to ride but Stuart's style of instruction and expert knowledge got me through it. It is clear that he is focused on teaching his students how to ride safely rather than just passing a test. Stuart is direct and he will focus on what you do wrong, you are learning and you will do things wrong. This is an activity in which you can get hurt if you do not listen, so listen and learn. If you are able then you will get better but it takes effort and work, no trainer can do that bit for you. You have to be realistic about your abilities. If like me you had no previous experience then it is possible that you will need additional time. I paid for a couple of days additional training because I needed it. This additional training was at my request and not any type of upsell by Stuart. When I did request additional training Stuart was accommodating and flexible. Days on the road start at 8am and usually finish early afternoon but that is all I could do because four to six hours riding as a novice is physically and mentally tiring. When riding Stuarts positions his bike (which is a very large 350 kg Triumph) defensively and protects students from other road users as much as possible. He provides continuous observations and recommendations on the headsets while riding and also provides the occasional bad joke. Stuart's anticipation of potential road hazards was at times uncanny but that obviously comes from many years of riding. Lunch on the road was usually at Costco in Farnborough, no frills but they serve warm and tasty jacket potatoes and cottage pie. The bikes that I learnt on were good quality Suzuki Gladius. 3CMT have two and I rode both of them on different occasions. Both bikes ran very well and are clearly well maintained. Both bikes had heated grips which was very welcome some days. I enjoyed riding the Gladius very much and for my first bike I bought a Suzuki Bandit which has a similar ride. Enough of my ramblings, this started as a review but reading it back to myself now it is more like a short diary entry. I hope it gives others who are thinking about learning to ride some useful information. In summary I enjoyed my time learning to ride, I enjoyed Stuart's company, I like his style, I enjoyed the lunches at Costco and I enjoyed riding the Gladius bikes. I recommend 3CMT to anyone wanting to learn.
Fantastic experience: thanks to Stuart and 3CMT, i passed my cbt and a few months later my DAS. the training was incredible, you don';t realise know much is actually sinking in! I went from a person scared of the bikes to enjoying everything including the confidence to do a week long euro trip within a month of passing. Stuart and the team know what they are doing and will guide you through everything, dont take it personally and enjoy every minute. Since passing i have also taken up some additional training with 3CMT to help me get to a higher standard and this will no doubt continue. All in all, I would recommend them to anyone. BTW: these guys got me through Mod1 and Mod2 first time :-).. many thanks guys.
Thank you for your review John. It is always a pleasure to get new riders to a high standard. Ride safe and next Europe trip an invite would be appreciated.
Fantastic experience: Took my Full bike licence lessons and test with Stuart and don't think without his great way in teaching I would have passed. Now get to ride thanks to 3CMT. I would fully recommend 3 Countries Motorcycle Training. First class instructor that I still turn to know for advice
Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to teach you. Ride safe
Fantastic experience: I completed CBT and DAS with Stuart having had instructors in many disciplines I can say he is a fanastic instructor. 5 years on I can still hear his excellent guidance as i ride my bike. Stuff like "chris get off that front brake on the bend do you want to die today" and "chris the throttle is not an on off switch feed the power to the rear wheel." Stuart is strict, professional and safety conscious. No not been to Europe on my bike yet
Good to hear you are still enjoying riding. Thank you for the feedback. Have you been to Europe yet?
Fantastic experience: Just successfully completed my DAS with Stuart. What struck me most about the training and instruction here was the fact that I wasn't only prepared for taking my Mod 1 & 2 tests, but I was shown how to ride in the real world and apply that to the test. The training standard is much higher than the requirement to just pass. I will refer friends here for training in a heartbeat.
Thank you Jan. You did well and improved above and beyond test requirements achiving a clean ride on your mod 2. Take your time to keep expanding your skill level and motorcycling knowledge. I am always happy to offer advice if needed.
Fantastic experience: stuart did exactly what he said he would do 3 days training 1 day test (mod1 & 2 ) passed 1st time if you want to pass 1st time and you can listen to whats being told to you then this is the company to go for 10/10
Thank you Robert. Ride safe. Maybe we could get a European run once you have got used to riding your new bike.
