Silver Bike (Motorcycle) Training Havant

Negative experience: So where do I start with this. I booked my mod1 and mod2 with this company. I haven’t been on a bike for a good few years, so I renewed my CBT and that was brilliant. Howard was ok on that day so I booked the mod1 & mod2 test with silver bike’s and even paid for an extra day. Day one - I turned up there were two motorbikes in the car park one was Howard’s and the other was for the other learner. So I walk out to the containers finding Howard jump starting my bike that looked like it needed to be in scrap yard popping away in need of a spark plug. He then rode it in the car park ready for me to use. Once set up, the cones we must of done about 30 mins training. I couldn’t control the motorbike properly when performing the slow manoeuvres, and Howard started shouting at me. I find this totally rude and arrogant. He packed the cones away and we went on the roads. We end up in a petrol station at port solent for half hour then rode to the test centre and stayed there for about an hour just to watch some one who failed and Howard took the piss out of him. We then left the test centre and went back to Havant to the car park for about 15 min and again he starts shouting. I couldn’t work out why I couldn’t do u turns until day 2. Day 2 - same as the morning before I find Howard jump starting my bike again stating to me this bike only needs a spark plug and laughed. So we got on our bikes and headed to the test centre to practice the test. My god he was absolutely rude shouting at me because yet again I couldn’t slow control the bike and also couldn’t pick up enough speed to go through the speed trap to do the swerve part. I found this extremely unprofessional. Once we were parked up I looked at the chain and it was very slack. I pointed it out to Howard and he replied oh yeah I was meant to adjust that and laughed again like it was nothing. How bloody dangerous is that and that was the main reason doing any slow manoeuvres would prove hard to control let alone the chain coming off and locking the back wheel and that’s when I knew that bike was the issue and not me. I really honestly would avoid using them. I didn’t even bother turning up for my mod1 test. I would have failed. If you have bad anxiety or you’re really nervous about learning to ride, I wouldn’t use this company. Howard has no patience, he doesn’t explain anything and he just shouts. Another thing I found, he speeds and then tells you to hurry up and do your then speeding and panicking to catch up. Hopefully I don’t get any points and hopefully other people dodge this company like the plague.

Positive experience: Did my CBT with silver bikes. It was brilliant. My instructor (howard) teaches well and has a good laugh. I see people on here saying he's an arse but that wasn't the case. Yes, he's strict, but when taking people on roads with bikes, can you blame him? Thank you, Silver Bikes

Negative experience: Worst experience of my life to do CBT with them. HOWARD (Trainer) was abusive and arrogant plus they do not have any sitting area to teach you basics and poor quality bikes. I Suggest everyone to please do your training somewhere els.

Fantastic experience: I cannot praise Howard enough. Just did my CBT refresher, there was no expectation about my riding ability and instantly felt at ease. Howard is down to earth and explains everything excellently. If you have a question ask and he will explain further if needed. Even taking my CBT refresher I learnt so new stuff with Howard that made riding easier and more fun. I will be going back to Silver Bikes again in 2yrs and recommend them to everyone of all abilities. Thanks Howard for a great day ✊
