Silver Bike (Motorcycle) Training Havant

Negative experience: So where do I start with this. I booked my mod1 and mod2 with this company. I haven’t been on a bike for a good few years, so I renewed my CBT and that was brilliant. Howard was ok on that day so I booked the mod1 & mod2 test with silver bike’s and even paid for an extra day. Day one - I turned up there were two motorbikes in the car park one was Howard’s and the other was for the other learner. So I walk out to the containers finding Howard jump starting my bike that looked like it needed to be in scrap yard popping away in need of a spark plug. He then rode it in the car park ready for me to use. Once set up, the cones we must of done about 30 mins training. I couldn’t control the motorbike properly when performing the slow manoeuvres, and Howard started shouting at me. I find this totally rude and arrogant. He packed the cones away and we went on the roads. We end up in a petrol station at port solent for half hour then rode to the test centre and stayed there for about an hour just to watch some one who failed and Howard took the piss out of him. We then left the test centre and went back to Havant to the car park for about 15 min and again he starts shouting. I couldn’t work out why I couldn’t do u turns until day 2. Day 2 - same as the morning before I find Howard jump starting my bike again stating to me this bike only needs a spark plug and laughed. So we got on our bikes and headed to the test centre to practice the test. My god he was absolutely rude shouting at me because yet again I couldn’t slow control the bike and also couldn’t pick up enough speed to go through the speed trap to do the swerve part. I found this extremely unprofessional. Once we were parked up I looked at the chain and it was very slack. I pointed it out to Howard and he replied oh yeah I was meant to adjust that and laughed again like it was nothing. How bloody dangerous is that and that was the main reason doing any slow manoeuvres would prove hard to control let alone the chain coming off and locking the back wheel and that’s when I knew that bike was the issue and not me. I really honestly would avoid using them. I didn’t even bother turning up for my mod1 test. I would have failed. If you have bad anxiety or you’re really nervous about learning to ride, I wouldn’t use this company. Howard has no patience, he doesn’t explain anything and he just shouts. Another thing I found, he speeds and then tells you to hurry up and do your then speeding and panicking to catch up. Hopefully I don’t get any points and hopefully other people dodge this company like the plague.

Positive experience: Did my CBT with silver bikes. It was brilliant. My instructor (howard) teaches well and has a good laugh. I see people on here saying he's an arse but that wasn't the case. Yes, he's strict, but when taking people on roads with bikes, can you blame him? Thank you, Silver Bikes

Negative experience: Worst experience of my life to do CBT with them. HOWARD (Trainer) was abusive and arrogant plus they do not have any sitting area to teach you basics and poor quality bikes. I Suggest everyone to please do your training somewhere els.

Fantastic experience: I cannot praise Howard enough. Just did my CBT refresher, there was no expectation about my riding ability and instantly felt at ease. Howard is down to earth and explains everything excellently. If you have a question ask and he will explain further if needed. Even taking my CBT refresher I learnt so new stuff with Howard that made riding easier and more fun. I will be going back to Silver Bikes again in 2yrs and recommend them to everyone of all abilities. Thanks Howard for a great day ✊

Negative experience: Called 2 weeks ago to try and book CBT and DAS, was told owners were on holiday for a week and a half, that’s fine also emailed the lady who I didn’t realise was the owners partner who told me to ring on the Sunday, so I rang the Sunday and was fobbed off and was told to ring the next day again rang and the owner answered and told me to ring back at 1:30, so I rang with no answer and tried an hour later, seems they don’t want the business so I’ve now booked with 1st castle who I should have gone with originally as their reviews speak for themselves booked CBT in and communicated very well

Fantastic experience: Had such a great time today with Andy my instructor. Never been on a bike before, but the time he took with me to help me got me feeling so at ease. Everything explained fully was amazing so happy to have my cbt. A big thanks to Andy. Was so good I will get my son doing his also here in the next weeks would recommend to everyone. Fantastic experience: Achieved my CBT certificate today with the help of Andy. Great instructor! Being completely new to the world of bikes I was a bit nervous, but Andy made me feel at ease right from the start. Took time to explain each exercise and answered any questions I had no matter how silly. You can tell he has a real passion for helping new riders to not only be safe but also to fall in love with being on two wheels. Would highly recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: Me and Jon did our geared cbt test today with Andy and we would just like to say what a great day we have had . We thought we knew it all being older lads but Andy showed us just how wrong we were ! We learned so much today . Andy is a very very knowledgeable man and really experienced in what he does . They way he went through each element and explained things in detail helped us understand the reasons behind things. Fantastic experience: Brilliant cbt today with Andy (chippy) learnt so much! even though I've been driving my car for years I've picked up new habits for that aswell! Can't rate him high enough. Thankyou again Andy, and hopefully I'll be seeing Howard next year for my full access ticket.

Fantastic experience: CBT with Andy today went amazingly, he is very patient and an all around friendly guy. He managed to build my confidence back up after having a bad experience with another company. Highly suggest for anyone looking to get on the road as safe as possible! The price is also by far the cheapest compared to other local companies which was great. -The car park in which the training is provided is very spacious. Thanks again Andy!!

Negative experience: Did my CBT with Howard, very aggressive and shouted at me the entire time. He swore at me on the microphone and he insulted one of the other people with me. He has very little patience with new learners but I'm happy to say I'll be doing my A2 somewhere else, avoid this company.

Fantastic experience: I had sooooo much fun! I did my CBT today with Andy. He was brilliant! I felt totally calm, relaxed and confident. Andy's instruction was clear, fun, relaxed and he made you feel happy with each exercise before moving on to the next. Out on the road I found Andy's instruction, perfect!! Very clear with plenty of time to perform a turn at a junction or roundabout. I can't imagine how you could learn to ride a motorbike with any other instruction. By the end of the day I felt like I had the best time of my life! Totally recommend Andy and the Silver Bike team. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: UPDATE: Today I passed my full bike license after instruction from Howard, it's been a a crazy experience going from not having ridden a bike 6 weeks ago to now owning a full A license. Howard is a great instructor with a wealth of knowledge! LISTEN to him and you won't go wrong. Mod 1 passed no minors Mod 2 passed 1 minor... Boooom picking my new bike up as we speak. THANK YOU HOWARD, THANK YOU SILVER BIKES Completed my CBT today with Andy Wood. He was very reassuring as I've never ridden a bike before... Being 45 (and having an early midlife crisis) I was a little anxious about riding the 125cc as coming from driving a car for 28 years there was a lot to take onboard, Andy was very informative and helpful and made me feel confident with my abilities. After practicing in the carpark we where then taken out on the road to bring us up to (pun intended) speed with what we learnt. Over all I would highly recommend Silerbikes motorcycle training and I will see them soon to do my DAS training, to get my fill bike license... Once again thanks souch for today

Positive experience: Great chaps very pleasant and easy to deal with could do with upgrading their scooters (Chinese imports). One failed and had to be replaced with a manual Honda CG125 motorbike for the road test luckily it wasn't a problem for me as it was identical to one I owned 30 years ago. The other had to be adjusted whilst on the road not really up to scratch.

Negative experience: Howard is a very observant trainer, it is a shame he has to spoil this by shouting at learners. He is arrogant ex army bully and totally unable to show any care to course candidates. His shouting destroys confidence and had me in tears, even when I had asked him not to shout at me. Great pity because he is a good trainer, he just has zero communication skills and empathy. The bikes were also absolutely filthy.

Positive experience: Silver bikes managed to get me to pass both modules 1 & 2. Amazingly... Talking to other candidates at the test center the general opinion is that trying to pass these tests is very stressful. I certainly agree with that. The remedy is to be confident... and relax... Which I have to say wasn't easy. Good luck.

Fantastic experience: I cannot rate Silver Bikes any higher, they have seen not only me, but my father, brother, cousin and uncle through our motorcycle training from CBT to Category A licence. If you are looking for a school that genuinely cares about whether you pass then you should call and speak to Leslie, she will explain how everything works and guide you through everything you need to know. Howard and the instructors really know what they are talking about and if you listen to their training you WILL pass your test. 5 ☆ bike school, I’d recommend to anyone!

Fantastic experience: TOP QUALITY. I had never rode a bike before meeting Howard for my CBT. Got me through my CBT, A1 Mod1 and Mod2 in 2 weeks, all first time. Leslie sorted me out perfectly and managed to move my tests forward due to cancellations. She explained exactly what the process was and communicated with me perfectly. Fantastic experience: Did my CBT the other week with Chippy at Silver Bikes Motorcycle Training and I was very impressed with his knowledge and experience not just with motorcycles, but also his roadcraft and prior experience in the military and being a trucker- along with his ability to teach. He's great at putting a beginner at ease, he's very easy to understand, light-hearted and I had a really very enjoyable day. Thanks Chippy! (P.S. I'll make sure to keep up the "shoulder checks" when young ladies are around) I'll be back next year to do my DAS!
