Fantastic experience: Was recommended by a friend, I took two 1-1 lessons before taking my CBT course with ART, the instructors are extremely friendly and knowledgeable and it was a very enjoyable experience. Would recommend ART for anyone who wants to get into riding, or needs a refresher to get back into it!

Fantastic experience: I had my CBT training with Ian and it was brilliant. I was given the option to try on a manual and as I didn’t feel ready, I was allowed to swap to an automatic. Fantastic experience: 1:1 New Rider Training attended 01/07/2024 Was looking into getting back on two wheels after an awful CBT experience 6 years ago and I thought I would give ART a try after having this school recommended to me by other riders. I arrived very nervous, fearing a repeat of my past experiences but I truly had nothing to worry about. The instructor took care to properly get to know me and my previous experience and 90 mins later, I was fully in control of a scooter doing all the manoeuvres confidently. I would have returned for my CBT, however ART rightfully appears to be a very popular school and there wasn't any availability to suit my needs so I went to a school closer to home that had availability earlier. I wholeheartedly would recommend this riding school to anyone regardless of past experience or ability.

Fantastic experience: Just completed my cbt with Andy, great guy very professional. He made it very simple and very clear what he needed from me in terms of ability and with a little guidance I passed. Having contacted other schools and having friends that have been to other instructors I have no doubt in my mind that ART are definitely in a league above. Fantastic experience: The Whole experience was great. From simply arranging everything to passing the full license test, it was great. The lady who on the phone was amazing, helped me to set everything up at the time that best suited me and helped me understand the whole process without stress. The 4 day D.A.S was also brilliant. I did it with Andy, whose instruction was clear and concise, and passed the test first time having only touched a manual bike for the first time a month and a half ago. Fantastic experience: Did my 4 day DAS course with Andy at the end of April; coming in I'd had some experience on a 125cc after completing a CBT but I'd never ridden anything higher so jumping onto a 650cc was something I thought would be a big step up. But thanks to Andy's calm and collected approach, I was given clear directions and plenty of pointers to ease me into riding on the bigger beasts, the sessions were full of great advice, useful tips and great reassurance from Andy who's helpful mantra of 'put mistakes behind you and learn and move on' really motivated me to cut out the silly errors and come test day I was delighted to pass both modules with no faults. Thanks to Andy and the ART team I'm now enjoying being free on the road with my new cruiser, something I've been looking forward to for a long time!

Fantastic experience: I waited until I was at my laptop to write this review because I have so many good things to say about ART. For context, I am a female (29), and trying to get into motorcycling has been HARD. My dads and brother and partner all ride bikes so I did my CBT back home in Wales (NOT at ART) and it was made obvious by the instructor that riding was for men. So after being put off the whole idea of riding my partner convinced my to go to ART, where he did his test. I turned up for my 90 minute ride on my 125 with Andy and I was terrified I was going to be shouted at again etc etc. But honestly, I cannot tell you how wonderful everyone at ART is. the lovely lady on the phone, ALL of the instructors...just so welcoming. I of course ended up doing my DAS here and passed all thanks to Andy! He is incredibly friendly, patient, understanding and so nice to talk to, after day 1 ART felt like home. I was riding from London so it would take a while in the mornings and there were closer ones I could have gone to but ART is the only place I would go. Even contacting other places was difficult and not without resistance but if you feel like other places are pushing back or if you are a female and nervous or worried...I promise you ART is where you want to go. They know exactly what they are doing and saying so it's well worth listening to them and you will pass. The 90 minute session helps you ease into (honestly) a pretty intense DAS but its so worth it. When I got the summary back from my Mod 1 & Mod 2 everything the instructor said matched ALL of the feedback Andy gave me. ART deserves all the good things and I miss being there! Once I have gotten used to my new bike I will be doing further training there too :)

Full of information about bikes and how to ride them well, I couldn't have asked for a better instructor. Both instructors were excellent, patient and encouraging, with many tips and ways to explain how to improve. Fantastic experience: Over last few weeks ART has taken me from never riding a motorcycle to passing my CBT. Knowledge, equipment and expertise has been second to none. Fantastic experience: I have done several CBT over the years. John the instructor said he would teach me something on the day he actually taught me several things he was amazing. After doing it many times I wasn't really looking forward to it but I really enjoyed and would highly recommend ART.

Negative experience: If I could give less than 1 star I would. Not at all good for new riders. Went in for a day of learning for my CBT. Not only was the second rider favoured over me and given more instruction and attention. Resulting in me falling off the bike and damaging the mirror (which ART are trying to charge me for) I was then sent in to sit in the office for half the day. DON’T GO HERE

Fantastic experience: Did a lesson and CBT after not riding for 3 years and can say that both instructors were fantastic as expected. They made me feel calm and confident and built such good rapport. The lesson was 1:1 and catered to my exact needs to ensure that the CBT was seamless the next day. I cannot recommend these guys enough and will 100% be back asap to do my DAS!

Fantastic experience: Dave and Andy were both personable, positive and professional. Having previously spoken with friends that had taken their CBT with other training providers, I'm in no doubt my training was thorough and of a great standard. I enjoyed the day and I'm now working on applying the training I received to my unguided rides. Gaining a full motorcycle licence is the end goal and I will certainly be booking each step of the way with ART.

Fantastic experience: Dave S instructed me for the day, Without a doubt the best instructor I could've found. Guided me clearly, concisely and made me feel as though there were no silly questions along with being friendly and humorous, the day did not feel like a chore at any point. Dave gave me the confidence and the knowledge to go out and get my CBT first try, keeping in mind I had no experience on a Geared motorcycle. I can't Recommend ART enough and will definitely return to ART for my bigger license.

I hadn't ridden for 25 years before deciding to take my CBT, Bex at P&H was a great help when I was thinking about the course and after a quick chat with her I was sold and when I had to swap dates she fixed it for me in less than an hour. Ian and Steve were great instructors on the day giving me all the time and assistance I needed when I needed it. Thanks, guys! I definitely plan to come back when the time comes for my mod 1 & mod 2. If I had one small gripe, it would be that the loan kit could definitely do with freshening up a tad

Positive experience: Did my CBT with John today, fantastic instructor, good sense of humor and great ways of learning. Only down side to this course was the fact I was riding a 125 and had to ride out with someone on a 50cc which meant I was limited to 30mph, which was a little disappointing as was hoping to cover all road speeds.

Fantastic experience: My teacher is L. Anderson. He teaches in a very subtle manner and pays close attention to me and points out everything in the proper way. He notices everything and teaches properly. His training was amazing and i encourage other friends to take advantage of Art Motorcycle Training as well. Thank you very much again.

Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT with ART a week or so ago now, and I am so glad I managed to find such a thorough school. I had 3 lessons before attempting my CBT and it really prepared me for the day. Without those lessons there is no chance I would of got through it first time. Including my CBT and lessons, I had 1 on 1 experience with 4 different instructors and each one had their own style. More importantly, all 4 of them were fantastic and patient, as well as making it fun. As for now, I'm going to practice a bit more before attempting my full licence. Thank you so much ART!

Fantastic experience: I had an enjoyable and instructive CBT course on Saturday and would highly recommend the instructor, Ian, and the ART team. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend using this training school to get your A license or any bike license infact as i managed to achieve this within a month from start to finish with only having minimal on the road motorcycle experience. My instructor Andy helped me from ground up by not only teaching me top quality skills but installed a mountain of convenience within me and i couldn't thank him enough for all that he has done for me. This training school delivers a high standard of skills into there trainees and by the time you reach your test day you'll see exactly what i mean when i say you'll be well equipped for that day. Fantastic experience: Come back to do a lesson after not riding for a while. I've had my first CBT with ART and they were very helpful and patient then and it hasn't changed now. Things are well explained, both in layman's terms as well as in detail. Bike options are shown for different height people. Instructors are friendly and obviously well experienced. As a anxious person in general I felt comfortable, not rushed and accomplished at the end of the session. Can't reccomend this place enough Thank you ART, looking forward to my next test with you!

Fantastic experience: I had a great time getting my "A" license with ART. My instructor, Andy, was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and made the training an enjoyable experience. I found the process of finding a good course and arranging training sessions to be very easy, and the staff at ART all know what they're talking about. Fantastic experience: My thanks to the team at ART for a really good CBT day. Ian (my instructor) was really patient and helpful. He put in a lot of effort to help me get comfortable using a geared bike at slow speeds, which I struggled a bit with initially. He was also admirably honest about what he needed to see for us to get out on the road, and the fact we might not achieve that, without making me feel under pressure. The extra time and effort Ian put in meant we ultimately managed to go for an enjoyable road ride (though we left a bit later than other groups!), and I felt really confident and comfortable on my bike by the end of the day thanks to all the instruction I got.

Fantastic experience: I'm 40 and have never ridden a bike before. I had a one on one lesson with Andy on the Sunday and by the end of the session I was riding around the training centre and had learnt many new skills that were needed for the cbt the following day (today). This was taken by Dave with Andy supervising and was fantastic. I had a few nerves but the guys quickly put them at ease and I completed the training successfully. What an amazing day, thanks guys. A* service right from booking the training to completion. Can’t wait to see you all again soon for the full test.

You can also book theory test slots at Horley through the ART website which has MUCH better availability than DVSA !! Excited to pop into P&H and make a large purchase soon. Thank you all :)

It was my first experience on a bike a few months before with a 121 with Andy - his technique and patience made me comfortable and supported, which encouraged me to complete my CBT and I am now looking at the next steps to my full licence with ART with their advice. I would like to thank the amazing team there but especially Andy who took care of me on the day and really gave me the initial 121 time & attention I needed to get the confidence for the rest of the day. Fantastic experience: Taken two CBT's with these guys now and the instructors are just excellent. Just six years between the two courses and was lacking confidence, the guys at ART fixed that and I can be sure I will be booking my MOD 1 and MOD 2 with them keep up the excellent work!

Fantastic experience: Thanks to everyone at ART gained a full A licence exactly a month before my 60th. Not an easy journey, due to Covid I ended up having to take my CBT and Theory Test twice due to them running out, but they came through and found a test date for me and with their expert training, help and encouragement I passed my Mod 1 and Mod 2. Steve and Andy both provided the teaching, with Andy and Steve on day 1, and Steve on days 2, 3 & 4. Both were brilliant and put me at ease. Would thoroughly recommend for a positive experience. Fantastic experience: My journey with ART (Advanced Riding Techniques) Started with my CBT which I completed with flying colours and found very enjoyable thanks to my instructor John. After expressing interest in an A1 licence within weeks I was then contacted to book my A1 training and both tests. This was just the prompt I needed to complete my full bike licence. On the 17 August, after 3 days of tutoring and with some wise bike hacks they don’t teach you at most schools, under the instruction of Dave, I PASSED both my Mod 1 & 2 with flying colours. At each stage of this process, I was nervous and anxious due to my relationship with tests and assessments, however, both Instructors were personable, patient, real people (not overbearing all it all’s) and fun to be around which really enabled me to get the job done on the day. I even utilised the 20% discount they give you on clothing and accessories for P&H Motorcycles. Thanks a million. Craig

Having completed my CBT, had a couple of lessons then gone on to do the Direct Access course with them, I can't recommend them enough. They will make sure you have the knowledge, ability and are safe to go on and get out on the roads on your own.

Fantastic experience: Couldn't have asked for a better instructor or company to learn to ride with for my DAS. Steve has decades of experience, skill and understanding training every level of rider from folks who've never touched a bike, to people who are well versed with motorcycles. Even if you have been riding for years, I guarantee you'll learn something from Steve and the guys at ART. I wholeheartedly recommend picking ART to do your training, CBT, A1, A2, DAS, and beyond etc. They're patient, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the process, building your skills and confidence gradually and at your own pace.

Fantastic experience: I mean all you have to do is read through the reviews here, to understand the level of expertise the instructors have at ART. My instructor was Steve and he was fantastic! Spoke with great experience and knowledge. Made sure that you understood where you were going wrong and corrected you if necessary. I did my DAS course through them and did a 4 day intensive, I highly recommend this option for all riders. It means you do not pick up any bad habits between your rides, especially if you are currently practicing on your own 125cc. Also special mention to Bex in the office, she went above and beyond to ensure you understood each segment of the training course and all emails were responded to instantly! Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT with ART Motorcycle Training, following 4 new rider lessons with them. I’m terrible with names - but all the instructors were great, especially Andy who made my CBT experience very enjoyable. I’ll definitely be continuing with ART for my full licence but need to get a few miles under my belt first!

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed the experience of doing DAS, tests and getting my A license at ART - they're all nice people, really experienced but with loads of patience (that they needed with me - I had no bike experience beyond a CBT and 30 years of car driving habits to break), solid advice and coaching, helped by excellent relations with the DVSA and some fantastic test routes around rural Sussex. Dave was great during my DAS course, and Steve really helped get my confidence up & my nerves under control for that final push over the line with the Mod2 pass. It's been an education - thanks guys.

Fantastic experience: Hi I wanted to post this review to tell you about my fantastic experience with Art Motor Cycle Training and one of their instructors John. I am a retired Advanced Police Driver and currently I volunteer with the London Ambulance driving and responding in emergency mode. I have never ridden a motorcycle in my life and I will share with you that I am 64 years young. Unfortunately I was late arriving for my lesson (M25 traffic!). John went out of his way to facilitate my late arrival. Johns instruction and the way he delivered it was first class. I have been a trainer all my working life and to see training delivered in this way is an absolute pleasure. John immediately put me at ease (I was apprehensive) he patiently explained the process in a clear concise way which was easy to understand. I felt safe carrying out his instructions. He was very calm, patient and encouraging which made the experience so enjoyable. I have already booked further lessons with John at ART.
