Probike Training: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Very Good experience it’s very cooperate inspector highly recommended ❤️
Fantastic experience: Enjoyed my training at Pro Bike yesterday. Would recommend
Fantastic experience: I can't recommend ProBike enough... I signed up for a DAS course on the recommendation of a friend and the guys coached me from zero bike experience on my CBT in June, all the way through to passing Mod 1 In October & then Mod 2 in December. All my instructors were first class - professional and personable, with a wealth of knowledge and experience they were always happy to share. For those of you with little riding experience thinking of doing the same, I would strongly advise some additional riding days between Mod 1 & Mod 2, as the extra road-riding experience built confidence in and on the machine, which meant less stress on test day... Thank you all very much - this has been a memorable and very enjoyable process.
Fantastic experience: Excellent group of guys, very knowledgeable, patient and also extremely helpful. Would highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant bunch of people, they are so friendly and make you feel relaxed and have a vast wealth of knowledge to share. I did my CBT with them and within 5 months I passed my MOD2 with them. The bikes are brilliant and well maintained and the prices they charge are very good. I would highly recommend Probike.
Fantastic experience: Used Pro Bike Training Chelmsford to go from no motorbike experience through CBT, Theory and Full Motorbike A licence tests with 3 full days training. Superb training and readiness for the tests and then the road afterward. A nice balance of humour and information, I never felt I couldn't ask a question no matter how stupid it may be. Even though there were differing levels of ability on the training days somehow there didn't seem to be differing levels of 1-1 personal coaching through the manoeuvres and whilst being out on the road. Very happy with the return for the cost.
Negative experience: Very bad experience
Negative experience: I have my personal experience i dont recomend this..v bad experience
Fantastic experience: Did my cbt twice with them. Really patient with me taught me how to ride a bike without any prior motor experience really amazing
Fantastic experience: I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the outstanding training and support you provided in preparing me for my MOD1 and MOD2 motorcycle licence tests. Thanks to your expertise and guidance, I was able to pass both tests with ease and, remarkably, MOD2 with no faults. The professionalism and dedication of the instructors made a huge difference in my confidence and ability to perform under test conditions. Every session was thorough and well-structured, ensuring that I was fully prepared for each aspect of the test. I especially appreciate the personalized approach and the time you took to address my specific concerns. Your team's patience and encouragement were instrumental in helping me succeed. Thank you once again for everything. I will definitely recommend Probike Training in Chelmsford to anyone looking for high-quality, effective motorcycle training. Warm regards, Lukasz
Negative experience: Very bad experience they’re fail people for sack of money
Fantastic experience: Think I did a review after my CBT but just spoke to someone on the phone about the cost of my A license, guy was really helpful and explained everything, nev and Alex are great instructors, even though I’m in Romford I’m going to travel to Chelmsford to use these guys
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience! Alex and Nev made it all 100x more fun and relaxing. Coming back in 8 months for my full licence!
Negative experience: It's terrible cbt training.they fail the people to get more money.i don't recommend.
Negative experience: I received CBT training at Probike on July 21st. I rode the motorcycle really safely. I rode a 125cc motorcycle on the road for about an hour and rode safely by following the rules. However, they did not knowingly approve my CBT training. Do not choose this company for CBT, they will take your money. But Even if you complete the training, they will not give you your CBT certificate because they want you to pay again and get training again.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service, very efficient
Fantastic experience: Did my CBT on Sunday, Nev and Alex were awesome. Both were incredibly calm, patient and kind. Recommend them both highly and Probike
Fantastic experience: Great guys, sorted out tyres and MOT for me for last couple of years and helped several friends/ family with CBT and Direct Access training. Professional friendly service at a great price
Fantastic experience: Really nice bunch . They make you feel very welcome and at ease. Extremely professional very patient. Highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Contacted probike for my A2 license and got given a free CBT, attended and the whole process was absolutely fantastic for someone that has never rode a bike the whole time was amazing, fun and a really relaxed atmosphere, can’t wait to take my A2
Fantastic experience: Alex is a top class instructor! Turned what I thought was going to be a stressful day into an enjoyable experience with a lot of knowledge and advice. Would recommend his services highly!
Fantastic experience: I recently returned to do my direct access course with ProBike after completing a CBT with them around 4 years ago, maybe more, and once again, they exceeded my expectations. The staff at ProBike were friendly and professional. They delivered the training in a great way, and we had access to a large off-road pad to practice the skills needed for riding on the road. They provided excellent feedback, and with the knowledge of many amazing staff with years of experience themselves, they were able to customize tips, tricks, or feedback to suit how you learn. The whole process was seamless and hassle-free, and I would recommend anyone who is thinking about doing any of their bike tests to do it with ProBike. Thanks to the team for helping me get my full license.
Fantastic experience: Me and my son went to Probikes today to complete our CBT on manual 125 bikes, we had an amazing day! The trainers were fantastic! Very understanding of the different level of abilities that were in the course, funny, easy to understand and super helpful for those that needed a little extra support, the bikes were all in good condition, and additional information on progression was given at the end of the day, an all round wonderful experience! And brilliant value for money! Special thanks to Alex for making it such a lovely experience for us :)
Fantastic experience: Did my CBT this today , it’s been a while since I have been on a Bike ..after a few hours of excellent teaching by the guys here they gave me the confidence to pass today .. they made the day with a bit of fun but very serious when they needed to be .. all the best Darren
Fantastic experience: Really great instructors passed cbt thanks to there help. In addition to the cbt I have now passed my full bike licence, this would not have been possible with out the superb instructors. I was incredibly unconfident and nervous and they handled it brilliantly. Thankyou all.
Fantastic experience: Very good experience. Experienced staff. Hope to go for full license training with them soon.
Fantastic experience: Did the 5 day course and Passed all my tests 1st time!! The trainers and staff were very good and knowledgeable, would definitely recommend!
Fantastic experience: Brilliant facility and instructors. Positive, friendly instruction to get the best out of your course. Highly recommended
Fantastic experience: Really good day at Probike doing my CBT course. Would recommend.
Fantastic experience: Took my mod 2 today and passed. What can I say about probike training they have been superb and taught me the necessary skills to be able to pass my CBT, Module 1 and Module 2 with no major issues. They gave me all the detail and knowledge required to pass, were patient with me, but also drummed into me how important safety is. I cannot recommend them high enough, they are a great bunch of people, highly recommended
Positive experience: Good guys teaching some essential skills. Chose Pro Bike for my CBT as they were local and was a little concerned about some of the reviews but fair play to them, they taught some solid essential skills. Colin and Nev were my instructors. Good guys. Good advice on road safety, slow riding, and awareness. Passed my CBT and credit to them, not everyone in my group passed as they weren't safe enough. Only did 4/5 stars because I only got a 40 min road ride even though it says you'll get 2 hours on their website.
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience during my training days leading up to my Mod 1 & 2 tests, gave fantastic advice and help with anything I had issues or worries about, in the end passed with no faults or minors during either of the modules, done 3 previous CBT's with them too when they had to be renewed. Some brilliant instructors all down to earth and easy to speak to.
Fantastic experience: 100% recommend ProBike. I did my CBT & DAC with them and they made it super enjoyable, easy & fun. The instructors are all good lads and are great at explaining everything. They were always very approachable if I had any questions or concerns, and if I felt I needed extra practice on any of the manoeuvres they would accommodate rather than rushing through the day. They ensured that myself and others in the group were more than at the required standard to take the tests.
Fantastic experience: My experience at Probike was a great life time lesson all the training they provided for my 5 day course was spot on. I’ve never rode a motorcycle before so I was a bit slow at learning and they still was patient with me throughout the course. On day one I used the 125cc bike we done the pad training for around 3 hours, after lunch we spent the rest of the day out on the road learning how to free ride and then we stopped to learn the emergency stop and avoidance technique. Day two we used the 600cc bike and again we done pad training until everyone was comfortable with the bike before we moved onto the road. After lunch we went out on the 600cc practicing free riding and the emergency stopping and avoidance technique. Day three we went over the pad work again until everyone in my group was happy and confident. Then we went out on the road learning hill starts stopping in safe places roundabouts even little bit of the A12. The instructor we have even took us to the test centre in Basildon so we could see the Mod 1 in real life it put my mind to rest. On the 4th day I went for my Mod 1 test and passed with flying colours thanks to the hard work for Probike team. Day 5 Before the test they give me a good run through to refresh everything I’ve learned over the course then went for my Mod 2 test and passed again with flying colours. Couldn’t ask for a better school to have learned with. Top marks for Probike and especially Colin thanks for all your help as now I’m a motorcyclist… Sent from my iPhone
Fantastic experience: I booked on to complete the CBT course 17/6/23. Went with a friend. The staff were friendly from the get go and welcomed us in promptly. They went through elements A-E and explained what would happen next at each stage. I would like to send a very big shout out to Nevil. I did struggle a bit (I had no previous bike experience) especially at completing some of the manoeuvres. He pulled me to a side and gave me some pointers and let me practise at my own pace. This really helped. With regard to the on-road riding, I could not have felt more assured. We completed sections and then we stopped at regular intervals to explain what he saw and to correct anything to further improve our safety. He gave us hints and tips about how to spot obstacles and how to adjust our speed etc. Very thankful to the entire staff and hopefully be on the road with my own bike soon! Thank you Nevil and the team!
Fantastic experience: Craig and nev were incredible, took the time to instruct when in need and praised when doing well. Passed first time after nil motorcycle experience. Thanks again. See you again soon for mod1 and 2 Manual cbt
Positive experience: Me and my son had CBT at Probike. The first impression was not great, but overall experience was very nice. It all depends on the instructor. I wasn't lucky with the first instructor. His way of teaching didn't work for me. As a result I was stressed out, could not concentrate on the training and left in the middle of the day. However, this problem was sorted out by the owner of Probike. I was offered another day with another instructor (no extra charge) and he was brilliant! J Seabrook is a very professional instructor who created great atmosphere for the training, noticed all the mistakes immediately and helped to get rid of them within minutes. He was supportive, positive and kind, well organised and efficient. As it was my first experience riding a geared motorbike I was worried about my ability to ride in the town traffic. Mr Seabrook made this experience truly enjoyable as well as very useful for my future independent riding. Looking for my first motorbike now and planning to get full licence within a year. PS. On the picture another amazing instructor from Probike who kindly offered his amazzzzing Harley for a short photo shoot :)
Fantastic experience: Great job instructors were very helpful and helped me to feel safe and ready for the roads highly recommend
Fantastic experience: The crew were amazing and very helpful. If you need a cbt this is the place to go 100% and big up Craig
Negative experience: Very rushed and minimal training, three of us were failed on a no fail course, of course if we pay again I'm sure we will pass, I will find another centre to do my CBT avoid at all cost. Ever person on the course paid extra on the day....inappropriate and misogynist language used...
Fantastic experience: Just passed my DAS with the guys at pro bike, can’t rate them enough, had 4 instructors throughout the process and each one was great, very knowledgeable and made me feel like having the confidence to easily progress, great condition bikes to use too thanks to all at Probike
Fantastic experience: I was already a CBT licence holder before I started my journey with ProBike, with the intention of getting my full bike licence with them. 3 days training then MOD 1 and then subsequently MOD 2. I had never been on a bigger bike than a 125cc. On my first day of training, I was on a 125cc practising in ProBikes training area. Slalom, figure of eight, bike handling, slow riding, and the U turn! After a short while we went out on the road and got onto a bigger bike and had 3 good days of riding. The bikes and instructors are top quality. If ever I had a question regarding something for my upcoming test, they could answer. All staff were really helpful, knowledgeable and supportive. I had picked up some bad habits along the way, whilst riding on my CBT licence, but ProBike instructors soon sorted that out. Due to the time of year I started, I had a few cancellations on my MOD 1 due to the weather. Completely out of the hands of ProBike. ProBike were quick to get me onto the next available test at no extra cost, because I had purchased the insurance for ‘test cancellations’ which I would 100% recommend for winter riders, and with the strikes happening from the bike examiners. I am pleased to say that because of ProBrike, I got 0 minors on my MOD 1 and 0 minors on my MOD 2. ProBike are everything you need from a motorbike instructor centre. I can’t make this any clearer. If you want to pass your bike test, chose ProBike!!
Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT in March 2023. It was a great experience and the instructors were friendly and helpful.
Fantastic experience: Done my DAS with them. Excellent all round school. Friendly, experienced instructors will teach you everything you need to pass. This school was recommended to me by friends and I will also recommend to others in the future. Great experience.
Negative experience: My wife nearly died. So my wife took the CBT training with probike. But earlier last year I passed my full test with pro bike and ws very pleased. Unknown to me my wife booked took and passed her cbt with probike. She got insurance on. My 125 and we went out. We got to the first sweeping left hand bend at no more than 20mph and she couldn't turn on the corner high sided and ended up in re-sus with head injury, a punctured lung and a ripped shoulder. Not to mention the damage to a £500 helmet, £300 jea s and jacket and. £1000 bike repairs After months of physio, healing ongoing rehab and time off work we have just managed to start talking about her accident. I find out now that she was not taught how to counter steer! How the Heck did she get a certificate to say she was safe on the road!
Fantastic experience: Passed my Mod 2 today , thanks guys for all your support and training , I defo could not have done it without you , I’m over the moon , and looking forward to my first overseas tour of France next year on my new bike ! Thanks again Rob Horwood
Fantastic experience: Great team. Made the whole experience enjoyable and adapt to your needs. Very approachable and professional. With their support I passed first time. Highly recommended
Positive experience: Managed to do my cbt training today, excellent day out , great fun , passed like a champ . The only down side was if you need to pay £10 waver damage for the bike and pay £10 for an earpiece. If you don't have one..make sure you bring all your essential bike wear on the day as they do not supply any....
Fantastic experience: I’m so happy with the experience I had at ProBike Training, I did my CBT all the way through to my final Mod2 test with them and it was seamless. All of the instructors were so lovely, helpful and knowledgeable. Each training day I had was invaluable, I learnt so much and managed to pass mod1 and mod2 first try because of them, couldn’t be more grateful or happy. Thank you team, you are all a bunch of legends. I would HIGHLY recommend this place for your CBT and training days leading up to your test!
Negative experience: I knew my money was gone when i seen my instructor ride a motorcycle without a helmet whiles smoking a ciggy. Tbh i paid 150£ what should i expect professional people?
Negative experience: Do not bother booking your young person for a CBT here. My 16 year old went today for her CBT having never been on a bike before, she spent the day being sworn at when she made mistakes between the instructor smoking his fags. She left feeling useless and upset not wanting to take up biking and based on all the other bad reviews with probike it seems it is a running theme particularly with younger girls as well as one particular instructor who made no bones about being racist. This review is not a bad review because she didn't pass her CBT this is a warning to any young person who actually wants to learn. Do yourself a favour and find another company who actually care about your learning and will help you to become a good rider.
Fantastic experience: From doing CBT straight to the 5 day course for DAS, I met many different instructors each with their unique charms, and all had a focus on making you a better rider. From words of encouragement when I’m panicking and telling me that I can do it and I just need to stay calm and telling me to take my time and do it right, to second by second feedback as you’re negotiating corners of a country road or going through a busy town centre, the level of training provided was excellent. All optional extra costs are included in the email when you book(earpiece/earbuds if you don’t have one for radio comms, damage waiver, and test cancellation waiver) so as long as you read the email you shouldn’t be surprised. The day courses for DAS generally run from 9:30-3:30 with 15mins up to an hour break, only noteworthy thing is that if you do the 3, 4 or 5 day course, the last 2 days of each will be your mod 1 and mod 2 tests, which no training is provided other than the ride from Chelmsford to the test centre in Basildon, so expect 1, 2, or 3 days of training with 2 tests days, rather than 3, 4 or 5 days of training incl. tests. Thanks for the training I needed to pass! Royce.
Fantastic experience: Can’t say much apart from the fact that it was AMAZING! I’ve tried out different training company’s for my CBT renewals and by far Probike has made me laugh, enjoy and go home with a certificate with a joyous and amazing time on the road! Paul who was my instructor for the day definetly gave me a day to remember. They are effective the way they teach and motitvate their riders to give their best. No slacking in their teaching techniques. If anyone is thinking of taking a test and lives far away from here, take my word for it and do the journey to here, you’ll leave a better biker than you’ve ever been. I will surely come back to acquire my full license.
Negative experience: Excruciating experience, Probike claims to be the cheapest company around but what they don't tell you is that on the day you'll have a load more things to pay for (things like insurance waivers and having to buy your own ear piece!) came to an extra £80 on the day. Also their cheeky wording of courses makes you feel like you're getting a good deal, for example: their '3 day course' for around £630 (£710 once you've paid for insurance and ear piece) is actually just ONE DAY of training and the other 2 days you just do your tests and go home, yet they compare their price to other companies offering an actual 3 days of training, to get the 3 days training you're after you'll have to go for the '5 day course' - over a grand if i remember correctly. The bikes (particularly the 125cc bikes) were around 18 years old and quite literally held together with duct tape. I ended up cancelling my course due to the abysmal quality of service and, no shock at all, couldn't get a single penny refunded. These guys are just after your money and have no interest in passing you, in fact it seems to me that they'd rather you fail so you have to keep coming back and giving them money. Need evidence? just look around at other training companies and you'll see all of them post their proud pass rates... But not Probike! Something to hide it looks like. Passed my Mod1 and Mod2 first time with a different company not far from basildon (won't post the name as this review is from a customer not a competitor and i'd like it to stay up) I don't think I would've been so lucky if I had stayed with Probike. Please look elsewhere people.
Fantastic experience: CBT Completed (again), Back on my own bike again. fantastic team here, Easy to book, course we'll run, everything explained. Course message understood but made to feel at ease while learning. Will be doing DAS here when I have completed my theory. Thanks again
Fantastic experience: CBT training. Excellent. Friendly well trained staff. I would recommend this place.
Fantastic experience: Amazing day seriously recommend the instructors are awesome, helpful, informative and generally all round excellent service !!
Fantastic experience: The staffs are very knowledgeable and good at pick up any bad habits you have. Did my CBT and Full Licence training through them. Would highly recommend. Past CBT and Mod 1 1st try, Past Mod 2 2nd try due to my error on the test day.
Fantastic experience: Finished a 5 day course with these guys last week, had never riding a bike before doing my cbt a few weeks ago and ended up passing my mod 1 and mod 2 first time. The trainers are some of the most experienced riders you could meet and many come from a police background which involved some very advance riding skills. The skills I needed to pass were drilled into me by these guys over the course which meant that despite nerves, I was able to pass first time.
Fantastic experience: Reviewing Probike for the MoT side of the business, rather than the training. Although I did do a back to biking course at their Billericay office many years ago, and enjoyed it. I've had my bike MoT'd at Probike several times now and they are a good outfit. Decent service and always happy to have a bike-related chat. It's easy to get an appointment and there is a handy McD opposite where you can wait while it's done. The guy who does the tests is very thorough and won't pass if there's a fault - no dodgy tickets here. At the same time he is reasonable and will explain everything, and what to do. They also now fit tyres, and I hope that they will expand to cover general servicing and repairs someday. Can't really say much more really. I would recommend Probike.
Positive experience: There seems to be very few 3-star reviews for Probike, so here’s one! But I feel it’s fair. (I think the 5-star reviews are from ones who have gelled with the instructors’ style, the 1-star from those who’s noses were put out by it, which doesn’t do justice to their evident expertise.) I had half a day’s training today with them for my Mod2 test this afternoon, 2pm (failed, ho hum ). Pre-ride briefing was brill, but as soon as the “training” ride started, I was on the back foot. My lack of experience didn’t help, neither did adjusting to a new bike, and new roads. But from the get-go it seemed like a game of “try and keep up with the instructor and faster guy in front”. Nothing much in the way of of instruction, felt more like being put through paces, with a debrief at the end. Won’t break down how the ride went (shockingly bad, for me!), but speaking of breakdowns the bike conking out on me at one point didn’t help. Essentially it didn’t feel like training for a test, especially as speed limits were treated a little casually, IMHO. That’s a big negative, as I see it. Instructor was helpfully (genuinely!) honest in the post-ride debrief; I’d rather know what’s needed, or what messes I’d caused! But that was the (abrupt) end of my time with him. I was with a different instructor for the ride to the test centre, but over lunch break I had no idea who I was going to be with, what time we were leaving for the test centre, or who I should be looking out for. I guess I’d figured on more engagement and continuity with instructor... Two things about the ride to the test centre: 1) (positive) it felt much more like tuition, with the instructor vocalising what he was doing/thinking. 2) (negative) my right mirror swung loose when we hit the dual carriageway...REALLY unnerving! (I was on a different bike to the morning). Gritted teeth and shoulder checks... On arrival I flagged the mirror (which I’d tightened with another student [not the instructor...] of Probike), and instructor said “it is what it is.” I had to press him with “what if it happens on the test?” “Deal with it”, in as many words, was the response. Again, not the most reassuring. But fair enough, I can swallow that. But the irony of ME sighing the ‘roadworthy bike disclaimer’ is not lost on me, chaps... The test is history... So the pros of my Probike experience: -The instructor being cool with taking us filtering on a gridlocked A13 on the way back from the test; that was a buzz. -bantering with fellow students. All the best, folks. -morning pre-ride briefing. Great stuff. The cons -bike condition: not great. -very poor communication at other times, on and off the bike. (e.g. when we arrived back at the end of the day the instructor said “I’ll take your radio”, disappeared, came back out, hopped on his bike and went home...so...maybe not that bothered about my riding, or even just my custom, then? Ultimately, I couldn’t shake the feeling that the instructors “begrudged” me going independent (I cared for own CBT, theory, Mod 1) and going with them for a spot of pre-test training; probably nowhere near enough training, they probably thought, but you should still do justice to people’s time and money. I probably asked too much of myself going into today, and maybe it was a lot for them to factor in, I get that. Nonetheless, I don’t think it’s too much to ask for a bit more from the chaps at Probike in areas mentioned above. I’ve not ruled out more training and a resit with them. I’m 50/50, and as a result, I’d give 2.5 stars if I could. To be continued...
Fantastic experience: I had to change lots of motorcycle schools during the pandemic, most of them got closed and I ended up going from London to Chelmsford, at ProBike. Having compared lots of instructors and schools, the instructors here are rocket scientists. They have taught me excellent skills and I will probably want to take a more advanced course with them. Passed both my MOD1 and MOD2 in the first go.
Negative experience: I went to do my CBT a couple months ago all I can say is the staff weren’t helpful at all, I’ve never riden a geared bike in my life and I was hoping that they would be more patient since I’m a slow learner, I have one small incident and I’m sent home and someone before me had an incident but was allowed hope back on another bike and continue as if nothing happened, I did not feel comfortable at all I felt pressured to do things I wasn’t ready for, not only that I think the staff come off as very intimidating rather than helpful. I can safely say I will not be going back here to do my cbt again.
Fantastic experience: Passed my CBT with Probike over the weekend. I had no experience on a geared bike before. All the instructors were nice and helpful when it came to show me the ropes. The training was about 12 people on either geared or automatic. Each instructor would spend more time on the students that need practice. A lot of people are going with the Direct Access (So am I). I'm looking forward to it. So far I'd say you can't beat their availability (I was able to book for the following week).
Fantastic experience: Passed my cbt and mod 1 with probike . All the instructors are really good friendly and helpful. There is a great atmosphere and all round great training. Bikes are great. All the staff are really helpful and easy to get along with and very knowledgeable. Got to be the best place to train. Fingers crossed on my mod 2 . Highly reccomend
Negative experience: AVOID....SCANDRALS...I paid £160 for my daughters cbt. She had everything including a clear copy of front and back of her licence. I was told on the phone this would be good enough. I told the instructor I would bring her hard copy to them straight away but, wouldn't entertain it. They also sent 2 other people away. One for bringing leather gloves and not bike gloves. I was also told on the phone that good leather gloves would be good enough. My daughter did have bike gloves. They other lady was sent away for the same reason as my daughter. They had booked in 12 people. I think they are very rude and wouldn't wait just 20 minutes for the hard copy. They got £480 for doing absolutely nothing apart from being rude and non understanding
Fantastic experience: Just updating my review having completed my CBT, Mod1 and Mod2 with the guys at Probike. Passed first time and loved every minute. I cannot rate these chaps highly enough. Trust them, they know their stuff. Particularly Nev who inspired so much calm confidence. If only Google allowed 6* reviews!
Fantastic experience: Brilliant
Negative experience: Worst ever service my wife booked cbt course and then she arrived they say sory 1 person to many and we can't make course for you . I don't recommend this place people planning their time and waste money on like this terrible service
Fantastic experience: Only place to go, if you want to learn the correct and safest way to ride a bike.
Negative experience: Avoid at all costs. Probike training Chelmsford. We booked our 18 year old for his CBT on 17/07/2021. This is why on the day he attended to start there were only 12 people booked on the training. A thirteenth person arrived who was not listed and they accepted this person. They had some basic training and when it was time to go out they left my Son standing outside in 30c heat with no indication of how long he would be waiting. They should have taken him however they took the person who was not on the list as could only take so many out at a time. The building was closed as no staff left behind. He waited for two and a half hours if they would have indicated that long he would have at least found shade and got a drink. When they come back and took him out he was taken on a 30mph road then on to a 60mph. Bee in mind never been on a motorbike before so found it a bit full on. To top it off the motorcycle was faulty and instructor told my son to stop braking even though his foot was off the brake and brake lever. He was orders to return and told he’s unsafe for braking constantly. All in he had only 2 hours max training all day long. My wife called to complain and got no apology and the person just did not care. We have booked him into Basildon which will cost more first visit as first day does cost more but £40 cheaper if he needs a second day. I guess the instructors were hot that day but customer service is just really poor. My advice is go somewhere else who help people not make them feel worthless leave them standing for hours and dehydrated.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff, did my cbt last month and have done my full bike licence too. Would recommend coming here for yours too
Fantastic experience: Friendly experienced staff. Very encouraging praise driven emphasis on the good points. Patience in explaining and correcting bad points. No hidden extra sneaky charges.
Negative experience: Poor Customer Service
Fantastic experience: instructor was brilliant and could tell I was struggling so helped me through all of it, I was unable to go on the road but the instructor stayed extra and continued to help, will definitely be going back for my next CBT
Fantastic experience: Great bunch. Really helpful and training was spot on. Can't wait to do my mod 1 next
Negative experience: Absolutely disgrace of a place. The workers were extremely rude. They have lots of hidden fees to try to squeeze the most amount of money out of you. 2 examples would be the waver fee and you need to pay for the earpiece. There was this poor kid who arrived on time and travelled one hour and a half to do his cbt training probably 18-19 years old. But he didn't know that you couldn't hire boots anymore due to covid. The workers were rude to him and literally said right in front of me "that's your fault, go home" the kid came back 6 minutes later full of sweat from running to get some boots from screwfix and they literally left without him even after he politely asked them to wait 10 minutes. Imagine travelling nearly 2 hours for a company that can't wait 6 minutes. This absolutely disgraceful. Shame on them
Fantastic experience: I completed my DAS (including CBT) with Pro-bike in-between lockdowns. Complete novice to riding, however with their experience and expertise I managed to pass all exams first time and this was greatly down to the fact that they provide a good service. All instructors are friendly and the bikes themselves are great for first timers. Have recommended to friends.
Fantastic experience: I did my CBT yesterday with this company at the age of 53 and it was amazing. The Instructors realised I hadn't been on two wheels since 1987 and coaxed me back to where I was in 1987 but with so much more knowledge than what I had then. I am a father now to three boys all grown up 34, 29 and 24 years old and would entrust the brilliant professional team at Probike Chelmsford to teach and test my children to ride safely! Thank you Rob and Mick for the start of my journey to becoming a professional Motorcycle Rider.
Fantastic experience: Had an excellent time on the 10th for my cbt test thanks to all the guys there, I've never been on a bike before but they made me feeling so comfortable and relaxed before and during the ride so friendly and welcoming, My instructor was an absolute legend thank you ill definitely be coming back for my 125cc test
Negative experience: Their trainer not good at all.ask for extra money.Evn they will fail in exam for next Training. So be carefull
Fantastic experience: Great team of instructors. Encouraging, entertaining and informative. Would highly recommend you to go here. They will look after you, make sure you do things right and have fun doing it. Just be relaxed and you will have the best experience. If you're a first time rider, make sure you come prepared or prepared be sent home... (Gear: MB Helmet, MB Jacket, over ankle boots & MB gloves) Make sure you know the highway code Their bikes are great to use
Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed the training today. All the staff were very professional and helpful. As long as you're interested and paying attention, you will successfully pass. Overall i had a very good experience.
Negative experience: Bought on Groupon thought this would be a cheaper way to get my son a CBT but was charged extra by Probike when booked the course, so it was about the same . Found the staff very rude and instructors swore a lot , my son was already very nervous and there attitude did not help , he failed a course with no fail ? Would not use again recommended I WOULD JUST LIKE TO ADD THAT THIS IS NOT FROM A COMPETITOR , MY SON ENDED UP HAVING A PANIC ATTACK AND THE INSTRUCTOR DID NOT CARE
Fantastic experience: Nice team, good atmosphere with experienced instructors. Had my CBT mid April and now I have the DAS with mode 2 completed. Enjoy don't stress too much!
Negative experience: Found the information provided in the email very deceiving regarding what I needed to bring. The 3.5 millimetre headphone jack requirement is missing which means you will fork £10.00 for one. I have uploaded a picture for awareness. I had mentioned that I could not afford this but was met with a blank stare. I later learnt that there is an hour break for lunch where you can pick up a 3.5mm headphone jack for around £1.00 from the retail park which is just a stones throw away. The training was good but giving one star as I felt really mugged off.
Fantastic experience: Great instructors. If you listen you will pass!
Negative experience: Im not happy to leave negative reviews for anybody, but unfortunately my daughter had a negative day with this training school. Having told her what a great day she would have and enjoy the experience as I did years ago, I'm now coaxing her to try again at a different school rather than give up on the experience of riding a motorcycle. Having never sat on a motorcycle before she was given the briefest of inductions and introduction to a geared motorcycle and left to get on with it. Her and 2 other attendees were pretty much left behind to fend for themselves in the car park as they were told they wouldn't be able to keep up with other riders so were failed within an hour of attending. I don't have an issue with her being failed as long as she had had the tuition first, on this occasion, she didn't, and she never stood a chance. So to summarize, unless you have previous knowledge of a geared bike and motorcycle experience do not attend their CBT courses as you may find it an unpleasant experience, and a waste of time and money.
Negative experience: I have called twice now too book a CBT course but the customer service is dreadful, the guy on the phone is rude and not welcoming at all. After reading other reviews it shows that they don't care and are not trying to fix the issues. Starting to change my mind about doing my CBT at this location.
Fantastic experience: Great fun with these guys. Got my family & I through our CBT definitely recommend. Thank you Chantelle
Fantastic experience: Great experience, with enjoyable, friendly instructors.
Negative experience: Called this disrespectful company this afternoon to book a test. My cheerfulness and positivity, was suddenly sucked away, by the rude, dismissive individual, that made an attempt at answering the phone! Being my first time and not having any knowledge of the process, I posed the logical question “of what should I wear? And is it included in the day” The life sponge on the end replied “Motorcycle gear, preferably “ Wow not only rude but a comedian too, fab. I wonder if I did pass with this chap, would he give me me a pat on the head, and a lollipop, and say “you did really well for a girl” Plus, 40 to rent bike, not stated in t&cs... sly , pay the extra, and get a proper service. Will be requesting refund from group on.
Negative experience: DO NOT DO YOUR CBT HERE!!! Unprofessional staff didn't even have the helmet and gloves to provide me with even though they made me pay extra. Didn't inform me that I need to bring my own gear. Lied that I was wearing tracksuit bottoms even though I had on biker jeans.
Fantastic experience: I completed my CBT, mod 1 and mod 2 with this school. Really helpful and friendly staff. Experienced and qualified instructors. An all round great experience! Thank you Probike Training!
Fantastic experience: I must say when I read some of the bad reviews for Probike training I was very apprehensive in completing CBT course at the Chelmsford branch. Although the majority of the reviews were really good, you only focus on what has been said negatively. After now officially completing my CBT, I can honestly say it was a great experience. Particularly in working with Mike. He is a very knowledgeable instructor and has a resume to match. The timing of feedback and instructions given by Mike produced instant success, especially at times I was struggling and beginning to get very frustrated with myself to say the least. From the knowledge I gained in the one day and the trust from the instructor to allow me to fight after a difficult start, I can only recommend this company. Thanks guys. P.S. Be prepared before you arrive, hard boots, etc. It’s only for your safety.
Negative experience: NEW RIDERS PLEASE READ!!!!! I can’t explain to you how disappointed I am after my CBT experience with this company. Firstly, I'm a new rider with no experience on a bike. I was in a group with three other riders who have ridden before or had already done their CBT and were renewing their certificates, which I guess is normal. But I felt tremendous pressure to keep up with the class, with my instructor knowing full well I was starting from scratch. It was very obvious that my level was far from my peers. Alongside the pressure to keep up with my class - the conditions today with Storm Ciara was ridiculous. Warnings of 100mph winds! The met office advise people to not travel if necessary. I felt conscious and nervous because of the weather warnings. I even called up midweek to to check if they would allow me to reschedule because of this. The person I spoke to on the phone was rude and not helpful telling me they only ever cancel for snow or ice and I can only reschedule five days in advance. So I either turn up or lose my money. You don’t have to be an experienced rider to know that the most vulnerable people in windy conditions are motorcyclists and this was terrifying to me. I don’t think this was addressed enough given my upfront concern. Besides the conditions being a major distraction in my training; I know I wasn’t the fastest in picking up the skills I needed to ride. However this is a lesson I’d paid for to be taught how to ride a bike. I was constantly reminded that I was struggling from the get go, making me feel the pressure to keep up. The training I received felt rushed and I was made to feel very incapable. Not exactly what you want when training and are supposed to feel like you're progressing. I left midway through the day feeling less confident about riding in the future. For a training course I feel like this should be the complete opposite. This company is NOT good for novices, the urgency, weather and constant reminders that I wasn't good enough got in my head space and made me feel like giving up. I had to step out for a toilet break to stop myself from crying. The instructors are the ones who are teaching you this new skill, your guide into the motorcycle world. I can’t tell you how terrible I felt being taught by ProBikes. They made me feel less confident, inadequate and incredibly vulnerable. I'd highly recommend you go for training schools that HAVE been recommended by my biker friends like A2Z, Sutton Motorcycle Training , Phoenix Riders and SL motorcyle training. Yes, they may have still taken me out in adverse weather conditions, but I'm sure I would not have felt the negative attitudes from the instructors. Maybe they'd have also been more willing to allow me to reschedule when I rang up with my concerns.
Negative experience: I simply called up making a inquiry about test locations and the person who picked up was very arrogant, rude and sarcastic. He kept telling me to "Be quick". Avoid this place that lacks customer service.
Fantastic experience: Great trainers, great place
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Probike. The instructors are very helpful, amazing, knowledgeable and go out of their way to make sure you are successful. I did my CBT, module 1 and passed it from the first attempt, not only passed, but also scored ZERO faults in my test. I can't wait to take my module 2 test next week. I have no doubt that I'll pass, thanks to Probike. Thanks to everyone there who guided me, taught me and instructed me, special thanks to John , Rob, Phil, Mike, Paul and Colin. These guys are amazing. The bikes are well serviced, and safe. If I can give these guys 10 stars, I would. My advice to you, if you want to do well, just listen, take orders and enjoy the ride.
Fantastic experience: Great group of guys really helpful and just a good set up really modern and easy to ride bikes found it very knowledgeable and would recommend this school to anyone thinking of doing full bike training didnt live to close to the training school but well worth the journey
