CBT West London - Motorcycle Training School

Positive experience: I had a really positive experience at CBT West London at their Wimbledon centre. The course is well structured, a good level of informal but very professionally delivered. Riaz is an excellent instructor. He is knowledgable and will 100% make you a good rider. Don’t doubt that. I do however think his teaching style needs some work - it is often a bit dismissive and borderline rude. As someone who works in an training capacity, I would not speak to my students the way he sometimes did. The training however was extremely effective (for me) that I remained with my 4 stars.

Fantastic experience: I had Riaz as my instructor for the CBT, learned lots and passed! It was my second go, which I wasn’t too happy about initially, but I got a lot more confidence and was definitely a much better driver by the end of it (manual bike, both CBTs were the only time I’ve ever ridden bikes)

Negative experience: The instructors at CBT West London were fantastic. They were patient, knowledgeable, and supportive, especially for first-time riders like me. However, the administrative side was a major disappointment. After we couldn't proceed to part E due to safety concerns - as the instructors deemed it unsafe for us to proceed to part E - I contacted the admin team to arrange a second day. To my surprise, they offered to reschedule the entire course at the full price, without considering the circumstances. I reached out to them again, requesting a discount, as it is a common practice in the industry. However, despite sending multiple emails over the past 10 days, I have yet to receive a response. While I highly recommend the instructors, I cannot overlook the poor administrative service. Potential learners should be aware of this issue and consider their options carefully

Positive experience: I have completed my CBT with West London and the overall experience was good. My instructor Riaz was very involved in giving instructions and wanted to get the best out of everyone. I understand it is mandatory for him to get everyone safe on the road. I appreciate his efforts on that however the tone he uses is a bit condescending and would appreciate it if it can be corrected so that it helps in learners giving their best too. I would appreciate that this is taken as constructive feedback and relayed to him. Thank you !

Fantastic experience: West London Motorcycle Training School is a fantastic place to be and learn how to ride a scooters and motorcycles. Claudiu and Riaz are absolute professionals. They are friendly, understanding and helpful instructors. I will definitely come back to them when ready to pass my full A licence.

Fantastic experience: Great place if you are looking to get your motorcycle license, I have no experience at all but Paul made the process easy. Definitely recommended and will get back to have my practice done once I pass my theory.

Positive experience: Too long didn't read; great guys, good instructors, but when you do your DAS check the test time so you get what you're paying for, and be confident enough to pass first time with one days training because otherwise it's cheaper to do a full sized course. CBT 5 stars, DAS 3 stars. Full review below: I did my CBT and most of my full license with CBT West London, and I had a great experience. My first attempt at my CBT was with Paul, and the second was with Claudio, and both are excellent instructors. They will get you up to a standard where you're safe on the road, firm but fair, and you'll have everything you need to get back on the road. As for the DAS, you'll do your assessment to see if you can ride a big bike, it's completely free, then if they trust your competence they'll get you onto doing your full license. Training and test is on the same day, which saves you money if you pass first time and gets you test experience if you don't. However, they are also the most expensive school that I got a quote from in the area, and while I wanted to give 5 stars because they're great guys and Claudio is a very good instructor and an absolute legend, to be quite honest I don't think their prices for DAS are competitive. If you do decide to go with CBT West London for your full license, it's absolutely imperative that you check what time the training starts AND what time the test is, otherwise you might end up doing what I did and pay £425 for your mod 2 test day, starting at 10am because the DVSA is struggling a bit with a backlog so you have to take what you can get, which means you get 3 hours and 30 minutes of training before your mod 2. That's still not too bad if you do pass first time, but you have a better chance if you check the timing, make sure it's an afternoon test so you actually get the training you're paying shed loads of money for. For reference, after failing my first mod 2, due to a silly mistake on my part that Claudio would absolutely not have let me get away with, I went with a different school and got a full day's training, then a few hours of training + test on the second day, all for £515.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing training, Ive been to 3 motorcycle schools (one for my CBT, another for my A2 and now doing my A licence with CBT west london) and they blow the others away, Claudiu gave clear constructive criticism of any mistakes, never made me feel stupid, he really wants everyone to pass and gives them everything they need to do so. I was able to pass my Mod 1 with no mistakes even after being rusty from not riding for a few months. There was an issue at the test centre for my Mod 2 which meant I was unable to take the test, he and the rest of the team were able to quickly sort out a new date 2 weeks later! highly recommended (also i got free fanta)

Fantastic experience: Clear instructions before going to the CBT course. Polite and helpful team. All gear supplied that we did not have. The lady, whose name I have forgotten, sorry, who took us out on the road for two hours, was great. Clear instructions, very calm in her communication, and her knowledge and skills to help my son and I were great. Thanks very much. We will be back to get our full license when we can.

Fantastic experience: Thoroughly recommend CBT centre. Riaz and Paul were friendly, helpful and patient. The training area was well sized and the local roads for the on-road portion weren't too busy to be intimidating for new riders, yet challenging enough to test out new found skills. As a repeat CBT customer (I've used a few places), I found CBT West London a really good and well planned operation.

Fantastic experience: I thought the training was excellent. The instructor Judit was friendly and patient and took time to explain everything and answer questions. It was easy to book online with three sites and lots of dates available. The practice on the road was the full two hours. It was an early start and quite a long day for me and some of the others so I think a 10 minute tea/coffee break at 11.00am would have helped and been very welcome is my only comment as hard to concentrate that long without a break.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic session with Paul at the West Wimbledon site. It was my second cbt so on this occasion I felt Paul gave me a lot of extra tips to encourage me to take my full test. He was very passionate about biking and made the whole experience great for all of the group (mixed new and old learners). He knew how to handle a group of mixed abilities well. I am definitely a better biker thanks to Paul and he will make an excellent advanced instructor.

Fantastic experience: Judith was Very professional polite and a really good instructor very calming teacher also went through some of the Highway Code signs I didn’t understand and explained everything clearly and precise she even explained and didn’t forget right at the end she told me about the A1 course as I nearly forgot but she didn’t forget to remind me 10/10

Negative experience: Awful. Don't go in there this people only care about your money. They are evil and not understanding. Lost £200. Judith is the most rude person, can't even communicate properly. She even told me that she is perfect and makes no mistakes. Didn't even let me rebook my test. She gave me severe anxiety. The way she handled the situation and I was spoken to was the most inhuman that I ever see. I guess I would have taken the place of someone next that would pay another £200 so yeah all about money making. Capitalism dogs. I understand not being able to do it on that day but can't even rebook? Even after explaining the situation. I am extremely disappointed and I wish to never encounter people like you again because God forbid I get it wrong, I must pay! Literally! Hope you all make good use of my hard work earned money and that you can one day feel guilty about how cold and indifferent you were about my situation. Enjoy the free £200 guys! Other places also have good reviews people, dont need to go in there, they are only nice when you are not interfering in their money making. Humans like this disgust me. Oh well is the word we live in I guess.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely pleased with the level of professionalism and customised approach. Needed CBT urgently, called Claudiy and got all instructions how to book what to bring. Session started timely and not a single minute was waisted. Site bike exercises were in depth and repeated until I fully mastered. The public road test was amazing. I was a bit stressed about it, but it went so smooth and well that gives me confidence to start riding as soon as I get my bike. Well done team!

I had got Riaz as my trainer and he was very understanding and thought 3 of us with great patience and enthusiasm. I can say more and more about my experience, however I would just say, if you need to have your brain working in automated mode om UK roads, use CBT west london. Highly recommending Riaz!
