I was given heaps of practical bike time for both MOD 1 and MOD 2, which helped me through. Trish is also great with information, organisation and communication. Fantastic experience: Passed my Mod 1 and Mod 2 thanks to the excellent tuition and guidance from Dave - he really gets you test ready. Extremely experienced, patient, knowledgeable and gives you all the attention you need to develop your skills. Fantastic experience: Can't recommend dave enough, he's a really great instructor really Informative and knows how to give you nudges to get you thinking and doing things for yourself and quick to help you recognise and correct anything you need to work on, it's going to be weird starting riding without him coming through the intercom to tell me my indicators still on. His 650 learner bike has heated grips too so no excuses to not start learning now with it starting to get cold!

Dave taught me very well in observations and understanding of what was required for test. Apex have been Friendly, Honest, Knowledgeable and excellent value for money. I will always recommend to anybody wishing to do motorcycle training.

Negative experience: VERY RUDE for no reason, called up to ask some questions about the courses he provides and he seems to have a very big ego for no reason. Rude on the phone, very unprofessional, Wouldn’t recommend any of his courses as he will just look down on you instead of helping. Could be having a bad day I’m not sure!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Dave and his company Apex Motorcycle Training to anyone thinking of taking up motorcycling. I did both my CBT and my Full Bike Tests with Dave and he was really good all the way along. Very patient and understanding with beginner riders and passes the knowledge along in a way that is easy to understand. Had a really good time training with Apex and was very reasonably priced compared to other companies that had quoted me before going with Apex. Even got a free mug upon passing my MoD2!

Fantastic experience: Dave was absolutely fantastic throughout my motorbike training, from getting to grips with a brilliant 650cc bike for the first time through to passing my Mod 1 and Mod 2 bike tests. He also knows some fantastic breakfast spots!

I was a little apprehensive at first being 43 and having never ridden a motorbike before, but I enjoyed every aspect of learning and putting into practice the new skills you taught me. Fantastic experience: To put it plainly, if it wasn't for Dave, I wouldn't have my full license. I lost all my confidence after trying and failing to take my cbt with a different well-known school. Dave however, spent so much time with me building my confidence and teaching me from the ground up. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he always found a way to make me 'get it'. From never having ridden (or driven) before as of 9 months ago, I now have my full license and dream big bike. I feel confident on the road, knowing that I have been equipped with the best skillset and knowledge to keep myself safe. It's obvious that Dave genuinely cares about his students and his knowledge and skill as a biker and instructor are second to none. I honestly cannot thank him enough xx

Fantastic experience: Amazing!!! I was rather nervous about getting on a bike for the first time, but Dave made me feel at ease and also made the whole experience really really enjoyable. I booked my CBT and I was placed with another lady who was on my level of experience, so that gave me the confidence I lacked and made me feel much more comfortable with being on a bike. Not only is Dave very patient but he’s an outstanding teacher! Always giving out plenty of advise and pointers, not to mention the knowledge behind him with his experience.! I genuinely wish I could give this man more than 5 stars because I passed first time and haven’t looked back since! Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend training with Dave at Apex motorcycle training. I was lucky enough to do my CBT, mod 1 and mod 2 with Dave. Passing all three on the first go. My lessons and rides were tailored to what I felt I needed more practice on and I was given constant feedback on my riding whilst out via ear piece. I had never ridden anything bigger than 125 before but Dave really gave me the confidence to ride and to ride well and safely. Top bloke, great sense of humour, great bikes and top experience. Fantastic experience: From the moment I first sat on a motorcycle, right through to today when I passed my full modular two, Dave has been amazing. He takes the time to fully explain the process, the machine, the methods of learning and of course the riding itself. He has a no-nonsense approach, if you are doing it wrong he will tell you, and if you are doing it right he will tell you! Either way, you learn something for every minute you are with him. I would recommend him without hesitation, he is hugely experienced and teaches to a world-class level.

Fantastic experience: Today I passed my Mod 2 and without question, it was all down to the fantastic tutelage and guidance of Dave that got me through it. Dave was recommended to me by friends who had been taught by him years before - always a good sign - so I didn't hesitate to get in touch with him. He invited me down for a free assessment and was completely honest in regards to what I would need to get my Mod 1 and 2, where other instructors might just be thinking of their own wallets. He said I would just need a couple of hours practise before each stage and pencilled in dates for me. Dave handled everything in regards to Mod 1 and 2, which was a Godsend, and I bonded with him straight away. I did the Mod 1 one day last week and the Mod 2 today, so the impact on my schedule etc was minimum. The Mod 1 day consisted of riding one of his lovely bikes to his training ground, where I could practise emergency stops and U-turns to my heart's content (do the U-turn in 2nd - I did and was able to do figure of eights in the allotted space, no trouble) and then rides on all sorts of roads as practise until we got to the test centre, where Dave used his expert knowledge to ensure I only needed to do the requisite amount to pass (tip: park in the bay furthest away to give yourself plenty of room and finish nose-in, to save faffing about). My Mod 2 day today was spent riding the roads that might (and did) come up on the test, ensuring I had a good expectation of all potential issue points before they happen. Did it work? It certainly did! I passed my Mod 1 with zero minors and passed my Mod 2 with only one minor! All in all, Dave is an amazing instructor - his knowledge and understanding is second to none, his calm manner and insightful observations helped me learn massively and the best thing is he buys you breakfast on both days!! The bike i used was in great condition considering its used to train people there was very little damage. If you are thinking about doing bike training then i would highly recommend using Apex.

Fantastic experience: I was looking for an individual training course that was delivered to my needs/experience rather than a process or tick box training schedule. I used Apex due to the reviews and that after speaking to Dave, the training wasn’t about going through a process, it was designed and practised based on what I needed including the essentials for meeting the qualifications. Dave assessed my experience/skills and trained me to meet the requirements and pass my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2. My experience was totally positive and Dave’s instruction enabled me to achieve a full A category. A big thank you and I can honestly say that I will miss the training, advice, humour, breakfasts and the odd telling off when I wasn’t thinking or focused.

Fantastic experience: Dave's a first-rate instructor and top man! I had very little experience on bikes, but Dave has taken me smoothly through CBT to passing DAS Mod 2 over the last 3 months. Dave helped to build my confidence on the smaller bikes before moving up on size, all the time offering expert guidance on all aspects of motorcycling and road safety. Training was great fun, tailored to my needs on perfectly maintained bikes, and with good quality loan gear, and I felt very well prepared for both tests. A great experience that I can't recommend highly enough if you're thinking of learning to ride!

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience learning and passing both MOD1 and MOD2 with Dave. If you want to get on a motorbike and want someone you can trust then this is the place to come. Dave is a great teacher and designs the whole training experience around your individual needs. Therefore you only end up paying for the training you actually need. The bikes are kept in good order and you'll have fun as well as learning. On top of all that Dave is a nice bloke and there is always the offer of a brew after your lesson. Cheers Dave!

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed learning with Dave and completed my Direct Access with relative ease. As a new (and female) rider, he was really patient with me and helped me get my head around some aspects I was struggling with without being condescending.
