After taking lessons with another instructor I felt very nervous about driving, but with OJ’s teaching I am now a confident driver and passed first time. He is very calm and patient without the teaching being too slow, which allows you to progress at a good pace. He is always reliable, punctual and flexible around lessons and is easy to get in contact with. He makes sure to explain things properly and teaches you to drive, not just to pass your test. Even when you make mistakes he doesn’t lecture you, but instead tells you how to improve in a positive and (when appropriate) light-hearted way. Aside from his teaching OJ is a kind person who advocated for me when there was some confusion about my test because of the strikes. I am very grateful for all his help.

Negative experience: If I could give him minus stars, I would. This guy is a joke. Didn’t turn up for a lesson and when I asked if it was still going ahead, he left me on read. Complete con man and very arrogant. He assumed he’d been referred when he asked how I found him. How he thinks he can charge £35 an hour is beyond me. Thank god I didn’t book in bulk and pay upfront. Very unprofessional and wouldn’t recommend him to my worst enemy. Do not book this guy under any circumstances.

Fantastic experience: My 17 year old daughter has just passed her test first time with OJ. We had a couple of false starts with two driving instructors who seemed to be intentionally taking their time to make extra money, were ridiculously priced and unreliable. As soon as we found OJ her driving and confidence improved overnight. He was professional and patient. He also judged really well when she was ready for her test. I would thoroughly recommend him and will be making contact again as soon as our son turns 17.

First of all he was able to take me on at short notice and had been very very reliable!
