Fantastic experience: I did my CBT yesterday with John.. What an absolute legend... he is well informed, helpful and generally a true Gentleman. The course regardless of your experience is all you need. I had no previous experience with a manual bike and very little with an automatic bike but the traffic on the island has made me reconsider my commute options. I intended to only do the automatic, but on the day i decided to do the manual. I am now set on doing my big boy test there soon. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: There’s a reason it’s called A1. John was superb, quality guy and pushes you to be the best you can. I passed with no minors and that was all thanks to Johns training. Loves a story does John but he gets into the nitty gritty when he needs to. Really nice chap. Very approachable. I would 100000% recommend him to anybody I speak to.

Fantastic experience: I thoroughly recommend A1 training. John and his wife Lisa have been nothing but amazing, encouraging and supportive the whole way through my DAS training. I was apprehensive after my CBT (taken elsewhere) and John gave me all the confidence I needed to succeed with a wealth of knowledge and his chatty banter which put me at ease from the beginning. If you’re looking for someone who actually cares, John’s your man.

Lil John as fondly known, got me through in flying colours (thanks for slipping the examiner a fiver Jon!). Jon is full of charm, whit and quips to pass the hours of training, the man has an unexhaustible well of words, a great trainer and lovely chap alround. He really loves his students, just look at the photo of us after he helped me pass my test today, he's holding my arm, how cute! You're the best Lil' Jon!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday I complete my A2 licence under the instruction of A1 motorbike training. I had an amazing time whilst riding, the friendly and down to earth behaviour of not only the instructor john, but also his wife Lise was refreshing, I would highly recommend these guys, and am extremely happy I booked with A1. (Also they are really well priced)

Fantastic experience: Just recently passed my cbt and the whole experience was great. I had John as my instructor and he was very understanding and told me everything what I needed to know about a bike. Really does make you feel at ease when doing your cbt lesson. When booking your cbt, you have to speak with Lisa over the phone and she was amazing as well. Such a friendly person and very helpful. In the future when I do my theory and A2 license I will definitely be coming back to Motorbike Training - Canvey. If anyone is sceptical getting their cbt done or is unsure, this is the place for you. They are great people and they will look after you.

Fantastic experience: What a journey!! started off with my CBT just before christmas, was a great course headed up by Paul! cheers mate for your time and guidance i had never been on a bike before! Then theory at chelmsford no probs! Then it was over to John for Mod 1, Took me a while to adapt to the different bike as its a bigger engine, but john had amazing patience and guided me through to a pass at the start of March! Well done John!

Fantastic experience: The man, the myth, the legend, John! I’ve known John for literally a few hours but have come away feeling like a family friend that I’ve known for years. He’s truly a gent and a master of his craft. He’ll alleviate any fears and anxieties with his brilliant sense of humour and very descriptive teaching methods. He even managed to move tests around on the day so that I could make my flight that same afternoon! The triumph bike I rode on was the easiest and forgiving vehicle I’ve ever sat on top of, can’t complain with a new bike, ABS, and digital gears/odometer. Fantastic experience: Earlier in the year, my dad and I set off on a venture to get our full bike licenses. After having a terrible experience at another riding school in Essex, we booked with A1 in Canvey and never looked back! I passed my MOD1 with A1 and John was absolutely great! Both my dad and I booked one day training followed by our MOD2 next day however, DVSA cancelled our tests last minute but Lisa worked very hard and managed to get another test booked within 1 week (and on a Sunday which is unheard of!) John is patient, calm and very knowledgeable. A small family run business who actually want you to pass! Thank you so much for everything, both my dad and I are loving life as bikers now!

Fantastic experience: Paul (Canvey) was a great instructor and I would highly recommend the course! Whilst clearly outlining the key points to pass the CBT course and the hazards of riding a motorbike, he also managed to make the day enjoyable which is a tough skill for any teacher.

Fantastic experience: Where do i start? I passed CBT, Module 1 & module 2 with A1 Motorbike Training. Lisa, Paul & John were all great in their own way... Lisa- very prompt and polite when speaking with her on the phone or via email. Always done her best to answer any questions or send through any information i requested. Fantastic customer service! Paul- Paul is the CBT instructor, i made it clear to Paul from the start that i was going through all tests, so he purposely was harder on me and explained that my riding was good enough for CBT, but pointed out what i would need to work on, and what examiners would be looking for in module 1. This set me in good stead for my first days training on the 'big bikes'. Paul was clear with instruction and very encouraging to the less experienced. He got me off and moving allowing me time to get used to the bike in the paddock, while he spent a bit of time getting the lesser confident riders up and running, explaining the basics very well. It was a successful day and all 4 delegates passed! John- Well, John is unlike anyone i have ever met before, his enthusiasm to training is second to none and his zest for life is infectious (even if i am hard to make smile). While training for our module 1, the other candidate was struggling with a certain manoeuvre, John recognised this and was running around the paddock to show the trainee where to aim for (i'm not 'ageist', but John is a 60ish) year old man running back and forth for 10 minutes just to make things slightly easier for this guy. The training John provides is not normal and boring, his "high speed roller coaster camera" type ideas, although different, they and Ingenious. The way he provides stories or craziness to the training really makes things stick in your head! He has a story for every occasion and is an all round happy guy to be around. I would not hesitate to recommend A1 to anyone looking to do some MB training. Thanks to Lisa, Paul and John for all their help and support! I have now passed all relevant tests and i'm out on the road on my 'big bike'.

Fantastic experience: John is a phenomenal fella and a fantastic instructor. Highly knowledgeable, Patient and supportive. John wants you to pass and will do everything he can to assist. Triumph Trident 660 3 cylinder engine producing a whopping 80hp with 64nm torque. Has quick shifter and many more only school that has brand new bikes.
