Fantastic experience: I have done a DAS course with Mungo and couldn't recommend him highly enough. Throughout the course he has corrected some of my driving mistakes that were missed during my CBT and by friends. I passed both MOD1 and MOD2 on first attempts, having no minors on my MOD2. Fantastic experience: Successfully completed the 4 day DAS course and passed both MOD 1 & MOD 2 on first attempt. Having had a few years on CBTs, Mungo was great at developing existing road skills and ironing out bad habits to ensure I was confident to tackle the tests whilst generally improving my riding too. The lessons with longer rides felt great for building up experience beyond just passing the tests too!

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend Mungo enough if you want to learn to ride! I went with no motorcycle experience at all and really struggled initially as it was not something I picked up quickly however Mungo was extremely patient with me and pushed me when needed. We had several one on one sessions to get me to pass CBT and Mungo never let me doubt that I would get there in the end, with zero judgement that it may be taking me a little longer than the norm! Have now passed my CBT and can't wait to get in enough practice to eventually get my full licence with Mungo too.

Fantastic experience: I was really happy to have trained with Mungo to pass my bike tests. He's a really relaxed and friendly guy, he was happy to do a little assessment ride from the outset to get a sense of where my riding was before deciding how much training was needed. Lessons were thorough and fun, partnered with only 1 other learner. While he was full of useful tips that the examiners might be on the lookout for in the tests themselves, I always felt that he was more interested in teaching me to be a properly safe and conscientious rider for the long term. Since passing I've enjoyed owning and riding a variety of bikes in several countries, I've explored the pacific coast highway and I've been safely beating the traffic since the day I passed. One of my best life choices ever!

Fantastic experience: I found Mungo after a terrible experience at bigger motorcycle school which left me scared of riding my scooter and like I was incompetent. Learning with Mungo couldn’t have been more different. I was at ease immediately, and not worried about sharing what I had trouble with on the bike. He really took his time to explain things, and answer any questions. Feedback and instructions while riding were also appropriate and helpful. I initially just renewed my CBT with him, but I returned some time later to prepare for the full A1 licence. He managed to fit me in at short notice, and within 3 weeks I had passed my test. The only think I would say, if you WhatsApp him, and you don’t hear back, just sent a follow up message. When I initially contacted him, I didn’t get a response, and had already written him off, only to get a response after 2 months!

I was looking to learn to ride a motorcycle because it was on my life bucket list of dreams, and coming from a person who likes to deep dive into learning things well (not mediore just to get by), I really wanted to ensure to get grasp of a good and strong foundation with as little bad habits as possible. Unlearning bad habits are huge time wastages and expensive to unlearn, life is short! Get it right and continuing building on that foundation. Fantastic experience: Did my DAS (direct access course, for the unrestricted A license) here. Apart from just being a great guy to talk to in general, Mungo is an excellent instructor, patient and supportive enough for the more timid beginners, but also excellent at "getting on your case" in a constructive way when you do things wrong that you should really know better by now. He analyses your general strengths and weaknesses and targets specific points in his feedback so you know exactly what to improve on. Very very different from some instructors I've come to know during CBTs! I felt excellently prepared for both tests, Mod 1 and Mod 2, with training that was focused on getting my skills to the right level, but also to prepare me mentally for the process of the tests themselves. We visited the test centre my Mod 1 was booked at and he (literally) walked me through the steps again, which meant that on test day everything already felt familiar - an excellent way of calming your nerves a bit. For Mod 2, he also made sure to throw all the usual potential "pitfalls" at me in training so I'd be prepared for it in the test. Passed everything first time and hopped on Autotrader straight away to look for a bigger bike! I would recomment contacting him well ahead of time as he is usually (deservedly) very busy with clients.

Fantastic experience: Great Experience ! Completed my DAS back in December with Mungo - Amazing instructor. Mungo is a one man operation and tends to be quite busy but it is well worth the wait for a training slot. He is a very experienced, friendly and patient instructor who will not only train you for the test, but will prepare you to be a better rider overall. Although serious when required, Mungo has a very relaxed and efficient method of teaching which builds confidence and makes the training sessions great fun. The Kawasaki 650 provided was perfectly maintained and had the benefit of heated grips, which came very handy when it started snowing on test day !

Fantastic experience: Mungo is simply brilliant & a fantastic motorcycle instructor. I did the CBT & 5 day DAS course with a booster session. It's been an absolute amazing journey from start to finish especially with having no experience on UK roads. He is extremely patient & also knows when to be hard on you. This really helped me to focus on the mistakes I was making which I learned previously from being in India on a KTM! Once Mungo responds back over WhatsApp & pencils you in. Try to plan all the dates with him in person as it is much easier & quicker to. He is a one man band & does have a pretty busy schedule. With Mungo's guidance passing the Mod 1 & 2 was extremely easy.

Fantastic experience: I did my CBT with Mungo. He was super patient, kind and insightful throughout the training. I was lucky to get a space because he was so booked up for months. I look forward to returning for my advanced courses.

Negative experience: It's really sad that i'm having to write this because I was referred to Mungo by multiple friends. I booked my CBT with him about 6 months in advance. Unfortunately on the day he had to cancel due to sickness, which is totally understandable. However, the main reason for my 1 star review is the process of trying to re-book. Mungo was originally quite slow to come back to me with revised dates and I had to prompt him to do so (about 1 week). Once he responded with some options, I have since messaged him 3 times to try and confirm a new date and I have just been ignored. I have purchased and insured a new bike to align to when I was doing my CBT, something I made him aware of. However I am now left with no choice but to look elsewhere to complete my CBT. It feels perhaps unfair to leave a 1 star review for someone who is clearly such a good instructor (based on other reviews) but I felt compelled to do so after my experience.

Fantastic experience: Mungo is absolutely brilliant! He's patient but knows when to be hard on you. He tried several different teaching methods with me until we found one that worked. He's extremely busy and a one man band which might mean that you'll be waiting a while to get him but he’s definitely worth waiting for. He also speaks several languages including Italian and Spanish. On another note, Mungo’s Kawasaki Z650 that I used for the DAS was really good to ride, light, low seat height and easy to turn.

Fantastic experience: I have had a fantastic experience learning to ride with Mungo. I started out wanting to learn to ride at the same time as my brother, but we soon found that we were at different stages when it came to getting onto the big bike. With very different work schedules too, Mungo adjusted around us, and we learned at our own pace. I felt throughout that Mungo was teaching me to become a competent rider, rather than to simply pass a test. His calm demeanour on the road allowed me to become confident and able to deal with whatever happened to be thrown at me - striking the balance perfectly to give effective and clear feedback, without being overbearing or affecting my focus and confidence. His knowledge around all types of riding left me with some great advice that I will carry with me long into my riding.

Fantastic experience: I found Mungo's Motorcycle School when looking around London for a highly rated instructor. With hundreds of reviews, all 5-star, there simply weren't any comparable. As someone with very limited scooter experience on the road, and only a automatic CBT under my belt I went off for my first lesson. Worried I'd have my test already booked for a weeks' time, like most DAS courses seemed to run. Mungo soon calmed those nerves and explained that the lessons would be structured and run at my pace. And only once a confident, competent rider on the road would we book tests. After around 6 lessons, spread over the course of around a month, I was a lot more sure and certain on the bike and passed both Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time. I cannot recommend Mungo enough. He adjusts his teaching style, the lesson plan and the timing of those lessons to match your requirements. As a result you're not only a rider who can pass the test, but a rider who can ride safely.

Fantastic experience: Mungo is a class act. I came to Mungo having already failed my Mod 2 twice (prior to the pandemic). He quickly diagnosed me as overly analytical, too tense and lacking a natural, fluid style. Under Mungo's guidance I cruised through my Mod 1 and Mod 2 with zero minors, and, more importantly, he made me a better, safer, more confident rider. Fantastic experience: Living in north London, the only reason I ventured down into the deep darkness of south London was simply because Mungo was one of the few schools offering a DAS course at the time. Despite the hour trip each way, were I to repeat the process with an option closer to home, I would have no hesitation in choosing Mungo again. Mungo is a phenomenal teacher who took the time to understand my learning style and adapted his instruction to suit. Throughout the course I’ve ridden with several others, all with differing learning styles and abilities. In every case, Mungo adapted to best suit each individual and, even when he’d watched me do an inordinate number of U-turns, he remained patient and simply changed up his approach, searching for another way to teach me. Constantly calm, he’s one of those rare teachers that manages to consistently find the sweet-spot between offering enough feedback to progress, without overwhelming you or knocking your confidence. As a result, the learning curve was steady and progressive and I never felt like I was pushed too far out of my comfort zone, or that I wasn’t being challenged enough. Riding with Mungo was an absolute pleasure. I’ll miss hearing his dulcet Scottish tones in my ear whilst cruising around the dizzying beauty of Mitcham. Often, I allowed myself to believe it was Ewan McGregor himself lambasting me for leaving my indicators on or getting distracted by local pooches. Learning with Mungo doesn’t feel laborious or boring, he was as entertaining as he was informative and he’s genuinely a lovely bloke with a huge passion for motorcycles. I’m intending on booking the advanced course with Mungo and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him to anyone. Unless I didn’t like them.

Fantastic experience: I booked the 5 days DAS course with Mungo but needed extra days. The end result being; I’ve got my full motorcycle license ticked off my bucket list. My personal experience with Mungo has been great. From day one you are made to feel at ease, he's a very easy person to talk to, very professional, extremely knowledgeable, and honest. Every day on this course was enjoyable. I made consistent progress. Fantastic experience: I booked the 4 day direct access course with Mungo, with only having limited riding experience prior (400 miles on a 125cc). Mungo got me through both the Mod 1 & 2 first time and gave me the skills to ride confidently and safely on the roads. Fantastic experience: I just passed my mod1 and mod2 frist time thanks to mungo and he's great training from having no geared bike experience to passing with only four days with mungo he's relaxed and fun way of teaching is brilliant not only will he get you though to passing ur test you will learn alot more to keep you safe on the road for many years. Plus I booked a 5day course with him but only used 4days to pass both mod1 and mod2 so he even gave me some money back witch he didn't have to do. Fantastic experience: I did a lot of research prior to choosing Mungo as a motorcycle instructor, and it paid off. I took my full A1 license with him, coming from basically no experience, and passed at my first attempt due to his coaching. He is an excellent teacher - extremely knowledgeable, relaxed & friendly, very experienced and able to switch teaching styles & content seamlessly based on what you need. The sessions are well paced, educational, and enjoyable, with everything explained in detail. Mungo teaches both how to pass the tests and how to be a safe rider for life, which is ultimately the whole point of this. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: They charge so much money but there's no real teaching for riding the bike then they fail my son and he need to pay again to go back and fail how you expect people to pass if you Don't teach them properly and take time but one thing for sure you take the money so fast before you book the apply

Fantastic experience: Having riden previously in the US Mungo helped me to get my CBT and full UK licence. Mungo made sure I was fully prepared and I passed first time. He is a really nice, easy going guy with a very natural learning style and loads of knowledge and experience to share. Riding around South East London and North Kent with him didnt feel like I was being as formally taught and felt like I was out riding with a mate who was helping me to improve my riding. I would 100% recommend Mungo to anyone at whatever level they ride at.

Fantastic experience: Mungo has a masterful knowledge of the subject, far beyond the minimum standard. Always ready and willing to go beyond the immediate call of duty. He has all the qualities that makes a good, effective and successful instructor; his passion and desire to teach well are undeniable. It’s previously been said, he’s wonderful. I’ve let the years go by, dreaming of being able to ride a motorcycle one day.. I couldn’t have had better training and can’t thank him enough, it really was worth the wait! Mungo encourages you all the way and is a joy to train with. Passed full licence in late Summer now riding around London on my Moto Guzzi V9 with confidence following this experience. Fantastic experience: Mungo est le meilleur (Mungo is the best)! Mungo has been training me for my CBT a year ago and then again for my full licence which I recently passed on my very first attempt. I have rarely seen someone so dedicated and so professional. He is the type of teacher you want: he will explain everything in advance, correct you without stressing you and provide the right level of advise. I will definitely pass the riders advance skills program with him. In a nutshell, Mungo is the best. High recommended!

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Mungo’s Motorcycle School highly enough. Mungo is a great teacher, making learning a tough new skill a compelling, fun and ultimately rewarding experience. I went from Theory to CBT to Mod 1 and then Mod 2 over the summer and the journey has been a pleasure. And the people you meet there riding together or from the lesson before or after aren’t bad either!

Fantastic experience: I'm so glad I chose Mungo as my motorbike instructor. He clearly loves what he does and as a result he makes you learn a lot in a short space of time in his lessons. He manages to make you feel relaxed on the bike whilst also ensuring that you're alert to all possible dangers. Having passed my Mod 2 with him, it was clear in the test that everything Mungo had taught me in the lessons was just what the examiner was looking for. Look no further for your motorbike instructor! Fantastic experience: I feel so fortunate that I trained with Mungo - he is an amazing instructor; endlessly patient & kind as well as incredibly knowledgeable and experienced. He takes time to explain everything thoroughly, so you understand the process in theory as well as practice, which really helps with the speed in which you learn. There's never more than two of you in his lessons, so each day spent on the course feels tailor made to push you forward. To top it all off Mungo is a thoroughly lovely guy and the laughs keeps you remembering why we love bikes and how much fun it is to learn. I certainly feel he's got to be the best out there!

Fantastic experience: Mungo's Motorcycle school is excellent! Mungo is clearly very skilled and experienced as an instructor - he assesses your skill level accurately and recommends the right level of training to reach your goals. I did my DAS with him in 4 days. each day was shared one other rider, but I always felt I was getting the right level of attention and I learnt a lot from the coaching he was directing at them as well as me. His friendly but efficent style keeps you focused on the job at hand but at ease and calm. I felt fully prepared going into both the Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests as well as learning some very useful road riding techniques. The school unrestricted bikes are what you would expect- modern, easy to ride, comfortable and well maintained. I will be continuing my training with Mungo working on some advanced riding and track training. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Mungo is The Best instructor I have ever met. I have been trying to get my full license for almost a year( with multiple fails in Mod 2) with another school. After that I found Mungo and had only 4 practice lessons and on the first try I was able to finally pass my license. His teaching method is very unique and efficient, he provides great feedback which helped me a lot to improve my driving skills. He knows what examiner expects from you during the test. I wish I had found Mungo Motorcycle School before and had not wasted time and money with other school. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Thanks again Mungo.
