Fantastic experience: finally completed my cbt, which was unfortunately due to weather quite in the build up. my first time i felt dodgy on the bike, but steve reassured me that i would eventually get the hang of it, and offered extra time sessions. over the next 2 sessions, i found myself progressing so well and absolutely total credit to steve, a proper real bloke whos got a passion and keen talent for teaching in such a relaxed, comfortable manner. despite not having much training with dave, my interactions with him were friendly, with him talking to me a little after passing. in total, steve offers so many confidence builders in both the initial training and the road ride, and made me feel so comfortable throughout both. dave and steve do such a good job its absolutely unreal. had to call a few times to book sessions aswell, with stan being helpful in booking, and letting me know if some sessions were cancelled and whatnot. top place, top people. absolutely use these guys for any form of training

They're so knowledgeable and have a relaxed teaching approach which really helps things sink in. Fantastic experience: Where do I start? Passed my mod 2 in just a total of 3/4 days. With a past of doing Motocross (having a moped at 16 and doing it with these guys) and then getting my full unrestricted licence 10 years after not being on a bike Dave was very confident with how I rode and my ability to gauge anything thrown at me. I really highly recommend doing any bike tests with Riding in Action From 50 CBT to unrestricted full. They teach you a lot more than a certain other company did NOT tell me or go through, like basic Highway code bits for bikes. Good Luck to anyone using them! You'll do fine!

Fantastic experience: Dave and Steve were absolutely incredible. I went in for my DAS training, 1 day CBT which Steve was amazing with. He is super patient and very knowledgable. And 2 day DAS and then the tests. Passed both first time. I have to give credit where it’s due, Dave is a fantastic instructor, I could not recommend RIA enough. Finally, thank you to Stan as well for getting all of this organised. Stan was always giving me reminder calls to ensure I had correct timings etc. and not to mention, hes super polite too and made me feel comfortable when i had the first initial call about wanting to do DAS. Fantastic experience: Passed my mod 2 yesterday after finishing my A2 training and CBT with Riding in Action. Dave and Steve have been very helpful and knowledgeable throughout the whole process and I had a wonderful time learning from them. Fantastic experience: Great company awesome instructors learnt a lot of stuff although I had been on a CBT before with a different company Riding in action is more thorough and the main important thing in my book is they are very patient if I was unsure of something he said just take my time and try it as many times until I was happy. Also they do not take a lot of students in one day training there was only two of us training. So they had more time helping. Although we couldn't do the riding part due to the weather (Thunder and lightening) they booked me in at NO EXTRA COST to do the road riding part even though it was an inconvenience but it goes to show you that they do everything by the book. As soon as I get more experience I will definitely will go and book my full test with Riding in Action also would recommend to everyone I know.... Great laugh and they made me feel comfortable with in the first 5 minutes of arrival Thanks for the wonderful time I had

Fantastic experience: After doing my CBT with another Swindon based company and my Full License training with Riding in Action, I can truthfully say the difference is immense. The other company didn't even teach us life-savers whereas Dave at RIA covered everything. He made sure we were not only capable, but confident! They're incredible nice people, but also professional and brilliant instructors. I wouldn't recommend you go anywhere else, but RIA!

Fantastic experience: Done my CBT with these guys and now in the process of doing my Mod 1 & 2. Honestly can’t say how great they are at their job and very friendly, listen to any problems you have and are willing to sit there and demonstrate it all until you get it. Booked with Stan and he was very helpful and knew everything he was talking about, cannot fault him whatsoever. Would definitely recommend this place and if I was doing it over I would definitely return. Thanks guys!

Negative experience: The guy on the phone (Stan) does not know how to talk to people. Trainers at this schools are great and the business owner (also a trainer) is super polite and helpful guy, but this phone operator is ruining it for them. He messed up my mod1 test and now not helping at all with the mod 2. Only thing he said was that they are sold out…. Not even a a suggestion/effort that it could be worked out (cancellation or checking the alternative dates etc). When I told him that his owner of the business and asked me to to contact and that something can be arranged… he bluntly told me how rude I was and may that is reason I did not get to train with them. Well, I had done my CBT with the same school and the Steve was an amazing trainer. But because I had I had just paid the money and booking CBT did not depend on many variables… it was all good. Booking mod1 and mod 2 depends on DVSA, trainer and pupil’s availability etc… the phone operator is not bothered to deal with any of that, and is rude as hell.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic motorcycle training. I highly recommend Riding In Action to everyone! Dave is an amazing instructor who truly gets to know you as a rider and adapts the training to help you build confidence and perfect your riding, not just teach you how to pass the tests. I own a 125 and did two days of training in preparation for my unrestricted category A tests and I came away every day with a huge buzz. I trained on the lowered height 700cc bike and I was so happy and comfortable riding a bike that fits me. Steve is super friendly and a great instructor for the CBTs. Stan was extremely helpful with booking my training and tests. I started training with only 1 month left on my CBT and thanks to Dave and Stan I booked last minute Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests and passed within 2 weeks. I'm so grateful for their flexibility. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend these guys. Having never ridden, decided to do my CBT in my fifties. Steve is a great instructor who adapts the teaching method to fit your personal learning style. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, which makes the whole experience a lot of fun too.

From cbt with Steve to unrestricted mod 2 with Dave the entire process has been enjoyable, made to feel at ease on the day of tests when nerves can be a factor! Fantastic experience: Completed my CBT here and will be going back to complete to do my full license. Highly recommend! Amazing environment, warm welcome, friendly and fun. I was nervous when attending. However Steve (instructor) made my day smooth and very enjoyable. Constantly asking if I was comfortable with what we have been through and if there is anything else they could do. Upon completion. Stated that if I ever needed anything they were still there and to pop in at anytime. Very professional. Fantastic experience: Did my CBT with them firstly, then booked them for my DAS, I had two full training days, which was amazing. Instructor dave is a wealth of knowledge and very patient. Unfortunately, I didn't pass mod 1 first time, but I managed it on the 3rd attempt and mod 2, I passed 1st time today. The whole process from booking the cbt to gaining my full motorcycle licence has been awesome. The bikes, whether 125cc for cbt or 700cc for direct access, are in fantastic condition and very forgiving if u make any minor mistakes. The instructors are really welcoming and friendly, and the training area is great, too. Out of the way, if you're not used to spectators. I would highly recommend Steve, Stan and Dave at riding in action the best in Swindon. If you ever want to get out on the road on 2 wheels, give them a call, and u won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: The best review I can give is to say that all of the other reviews are accurate. We had a great time with Steve doing my CBT. What might not be obvious to prospective customers is that RIA aren't there to take your money, put you on a bike, pass or fail you and send you on your way. They want more bikers on the road, they want you to succeed. So we turned up, in our late 30s, never having as much as sat on a bike, and Steve quickly worked out that doing it all in 1 day was going to be a big ask. Instead of pushing us faster than we could manage, he put us at ease and said "we'll just do some basics today, and you can come back again to finish it off". So here we are a few weeks later and I've completed by CBT and my other half has been back a couple of times and is feeling more confident and will go back soon to finish it all off. Couldn't be happier with RIA and when I've done a some miles on the road and feel the need to move up to a bigger bike, I wont hesitate in going back for the rest of my licence.

Fantastic experience: Incredibly passionate about their job, they know what they’re doing and are very down to earth - felt no pressure when learning for my CBT. Went from barely being able to balance the motorbike to being confident on relatively busy roads within a good amount of time.

I loved the experience I got recommended by my boyfriend who got his cbt there so I went and the people there were so nice and friendly and explained everything so i was able to understand it .My instructor was Steve he was so nice and funny to both me and the other guy he was teaching I would definetly recommend it to anyone else trying to get a bike training course done as I know if I go in the future to get a bigger bike I will 100% go back here lovely people :)

Fantastic experience: These guys have perfected how to teach people to ride motorcycles. Stan in the office is extremely helpful when booking the course and if you need to rearrange test dates etc. Steve inspires confidence when doing CBT, everything is thorough and clear. You don’t feel rushed, and for me it was a great base to move onto the bigger bike. Mod 1 and 2 with Dave is a blast. Plenty of time spent at low speed on the training area gets you more than ready for Mod 1. Out on the roads with Dave is great, the training is very friendly and fun but also safe. Fantastic experience: Brilliant riding school. Both Dave and Steve are brilliant teachers, patient, very re-assuring and obviously drawing from a lot of experience. I completed the full DAS license and passed both tests first time thanks to them. The practice just before the test was invaluable for me. The location is spot on with plenty of space within and quiet roads outside of the school for practice. The bikes were really nice and well maintained. Dave and Steve put me at ease and I genuinely had a really good time during the training, thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: After a really bad experience from A couple of riding schools i luckily found this one and they really are something else. I had never ridden a bike before but really wanted a geared bike . I had Steve for my instructor and he was brilliant with me he had loads of patience with me because im not the best of doing things out of my comfort zone . Within 5 hours he had me safe and ready to go out on the open road which I never thought I could achieve so a big thank you to Steve for what you done for me so I can now live my dream and road a bike. Fantastic experience: The teaching by Dave has been amazing, he took me step by step through basics and really explained practically and usefully how to correct little mistakes I was making. He was patient, kind and good humoured throughout and really boosted my confidence with his positive feedback at every point. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Riding in Action after doing my 2nd CBT with them. They really look out for how to help you as a rider. My bike had mechanical problems beforehand but they were great at rearranging dates for me and ended up lending me one of their bikes without extra charge. And Steve was brilliant as an instructor. He was thorough and gave helpful tips and tailored exercises with lots of one-to-one support, all whilst being very positive, relaxed and friendly (and provided coffee and bonus ice cream!) - making it an enjoyable training day. Fantastic experience: Can't thank the guys at Riding In Action enough, from the get go they made booking and training easy and stress free. Stan, in the office, was extremely helpful in getting me booked in for my direct access course. Steve and Dave provided top tier training, getting me from having never sat on a bike to passing both modules first time in under 5 days of training. If you're on the fence or unsure of what training provider to go for, these are the guys to book with. Just be sure to turn up with a good sense of humour and a pack of biscuits.

Fantastic experience: What can I say? I honestly thought they will just take the money give me a few tips, take me on road and thats us done. WRONG!! Steve was such a top instructor, really helped me gain confidence and told me exactly where i was going wrong and told me how to correct myself. The in-class lesson from bike, gear and road rules, wow i learned even more than last time i did CBT by another school in Birmingham. Riders in Action Swindon really dont skip anything, you pay and you get very very good training. Road riding training was amazing, Steve really was clear on the comms and gave easy to follow instructions, made sure we were all safe, had break at station and even made sure he held the traffic with his awesome Yamaha bike which is a road presence. I never felt so safe riding knowing Steve has got my back if I mess up and knowing this I was comfortable, confident to ride fast as well. Thanks Steve, I will come back with my own 125cc bike to learn more about riding as a personal preference.

Fantastic experience: Received my CBT training here, lovely friendly and down to earth guys, the training and advice I received was top notch and really helped build my confidence back up on the bike, I would highly recommend them for anyone looking to get back on a bike or first timer's.

Fantastic experience: I had one "top up" lesson from Dave whilst training for my mod2. I live in Gloucester and wanted some direct training in Swindon whilst I was doing my test. I've had experience with a fair few instructors (for one reason and another) and can honestly say, the session I had with Dave was the absolute best. It was a pleasure to be taught by him. He had a fantastic coaching style, incredibly positive, supportive and really helped my confidence..I would not hesitate to recommend Dave and Riding in Action for any motorbike related training.

Fantastic experience: I went on a CBT course here with my son yesterday. We really enjoyed the day. It was just the two of us with a single instructor. We went from wobbling around cones to riding through the centre of Swindon in just a few hours. I was on a 125 and my 16yr old son on a 50. Our instructor, Steve, was brilliant, a really nice bloke who gave us confidence and made the day relaxed and fun. I will be going on to take my full test. I highly recommend Riding in Action.

Fantastic experience: Did my full DAS with them and couldn't be happier. Positives + Actually able to get through to someone! Stan answers the phone and is very knowledgable. Didn't think this would be such an important point but a couple of other schools I tried contacting were bloody useless on either picking up/calling back or responding to emails. However with RiA I was able to ask questions, work out timings and change dates all very easily. + Trial 1 hour session. I wasn't sure if riding a bike was for me and didn't really want to commit the best part of a couple of hundred quid towards a CBT if I got on it and hated it. However they offer a £50 1 hour trial where you can get used to the basics of using the clutch, pulling away, gears etc. allowing you to make a proper decision. Again, no other school offered that, (at least not from zero experience, some offered a pre-training assessment if doing DAS but that felt a bit arse about face to me). + Away from major roads. Being up in Wroughton at the hangars means your first time going out on the road for the CBT is far away from traffic which is nicely reassuring when you're finding your feet for those first 15 minutes or so. + Both Dave and Steve are brilliant. Very friendly, welcoming and calm but also very pragmatic when it comes to some of the finer details. You feel as if they really know the realities of riding and can pass that experience on rather than acting like strict examiners. Still very rigorous and make sure it's done correctly, but just in a very sensible manner. + Training is done in max groups of 2 which means you get proper attention and observation when riding. For the CBT and then separately the DAS training the other student I was with had far more experience than me but both the instructors were able to find a balance that worked for each of us and we both got on with it well. + The bikes are Yamaha MT125s for CBT and then MT07s for unrestricted. Both of which are pretty decent and something that many of us would actually want to ride. + I was able to do both my Mod 1 and Mod 2 in one day which meant I had a day's training in hand. I asked if I could do some practice with my wife as pillion which they were very happy to accommodate which I thought was a really nice touch and meant we're now happily able to go out together and enjoy it! Negatives Nothing major but a couple worth mentioning for balance: - Shame no weekends. I was able to do CBT on a Saturday but all other DAS training was weekdays so had to coordinate with taking holiday from work which was slightly inconvenient. - More expensive than some other schools. However for the reasons listed I feel they offer remarkable value for money and I felt confident with the training I received and was able to pass first time so can't argue with that!

Fantastic experience: Just finished my CBT and Steve was amazing. He handles my nerves really well. A very relaxed approach to the training and he was so supportive I came away feeling amazing and ready for the next stage of my riding. Fantastic experience: I chose this place because of the Google reviews - but I did wonder how can somewhere have so many 5 star ratings ? Well having experienced it now I know - the instruction, organisation and day is simply first class . Had Steve as instructor - made his job hard as we were two students both called James and with different riding stories - but he did a superb job ! A thoroughly enjoyable day and learned loads - loved it and will be back for more .

We are both complete novice riders but found the day informative, enjoyable and packed with loads of fun. Training was perfectly pitched to our learning styles with ideal pace and covered necessary theory so that we are safe and with lots of off road and on road riding experience. Fantastic experience: Steve is a fantastic instructor! Made me feel at ease the whole time and got me from never riding a geared bike to confidently riding in a day. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend. I had Steve as my instructor for my CBT today and he was fantastic. So calming and patient. He was very knowledgeable and knew just what to say to make me feel comfortable and give me confidence when I didn't think I could do it. Such a gentleman and even bought me an ice lolly when we stopped off in Bassett on one of the hottest days. I will definitely will come back to do my full licence. See you again soon guys! Fantastic experience: Had my cbt with these guys a couple of weeks ago. Steve is a great trainer! Really liked his way of training, gives you confidence where needed and makes you feel relaxed when you're riding around like you left the hanger in your motorbike jacket . There was two of us doing the course, but you still get that 1 on 1 training you sometimes need. Highly recommend them! Just passed my theory now looking to a DAS with them.
