Fantastic experience: I was here around 2 years ago. Great comprehensive training and I felt like the team were passionate. I have stopped riding bikes but I will no doubt be back if I ever decide to hop on 2 wheels again. ( only stoped riding due to a change of career, never crashed or had a close call)

Fantastic experience: Took my CBT Renewal with Practical Bikes and had Mike as my Instructor. From start to finish he tailored the day and teaching around me being AuDHD. He switched teaching from typical to visual which is my ideal learning style. I felt completely relaxed throughout the sessions covering slow manoeuvres, Highway Code and road riding. Mike got me to try the z650cc afterwards to ease my anxiety about the transition to a bigger bike - which was great. I would never consider going to another School and am looking forward to starting the DAS training next year. Had a really enjoyable experience

Fantastic experience: Thanks to Dave getting me through bike training from CBT to full license. Had a fault on mod 1 first time round but Mike quickly sorted getting a repeat test booked in time to go on to mod 2. Was fun learning, tests were clearly explained and bikes were all in good condition.

Fantastic experience: Mike, at extremely short notice booked me in for a A2 to A upgrade. The training is extremely professional and I didn't have any doubt as to Mike's expertise. His training clearly paid off as I breezed through my test with zero minors. Would definitely recommend this training school for any of the courses available (I also did my CBT here) as all the staff are well trained, approachable and the courses are fairly priced! Definitely worth the money and a massive thanks to practical bikes for getting me on the road to my full bike licence.

Fantastic experience: I recently gained my motorbike license after receiving training from Practical Bikes. All I can say is the staff are fantastic. Really patient, encouraging and with a passion for what they do. I first had a development lesson with Toby to get accustomed to riding a larger motorbike and then did mod 1 and 2 training with Mike, and each time I went away feeling confident. Would definitely recommend Practical Bikes to anyone in the area looking for training!

Fantastic experience: I've completed my CBT, Mod1 and Mod2 with them. Mike, Toby and Dave have loads and loads of experience and gave lots of support whilst l was learning. Also, they work hard to accommodate people and squeeze in pupils at a busy time for the business. I recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I can't fault the guys at practical bikes - I did my CBT back in February with Toby and my full licence Mod1 & Mod2 in June - passed both first time! Mike managed to help me get all my lessons and tests days booked in around my awkward shift patterns! I had my lessons and test days with Toby and Dave - both were fantastic and helped me feel a lot more confident on the bike. I'm currently writing this review from the Scottish Highlands, halfway round the NC500 which I'm completing on my bike! Would 100% recommend - thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing motorcycle training. I started my journey only a few weeks ago from a CBT to get me started & progressed into a DAS course for my module one and module two. Mike was fantastic, very informative and patient if you weren’t quite sure there was no issues in demonstrating the correct way to do certain parts of the test. Nothing was any trouble. Fantastic experience: I completed a CBT and Direct Access course with Practical Bikes. I recieved a high standard of training on my CBT this allowed me to pass my MOD1 and MOD2 on the first try with only 2 days of training beforehand with no other bike time in between. I would highly recommend Practical Bikes for motorcycle training.

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend these guys enough! Mike, Toby and Dave make an awesome team. After speaking to Mike he got me dates for tests and practice that suited around me, kept me up to date you feel like they'd do anything to make the journey easier! Passing my direct access in just over 2 weeks from my CBT renewal! The lads work every hour under the sun! Toby is a top bloke, makes you feel comfortable, working at your own pace whilst having a proper good laugh along the way. the bikes you are given to use are a dream to ride! Dave was a fountain of knowledge, from the history of the road to bike control and puts you at ease in every step of the practice and test. Fantastic experience: Did my cbt with practical bikes 2 years ago to start my bike journey. They were great and ensured I learned all the basics to get me on the road. 2 years later I've took my a2 license with them and passed everything first time thanks to them getting me ready for the test. Fantastic experience: Went to see Mike for my A2 license and was looked after unbelievably! We found dates and times that suited me for training as well as the tests. Every single instructor was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable as well as making me feel at home on 2 wheels. More recently I even made the journey back to upgrade my license to full access as I couldn’t possibly go anywhere else when first time round was so good and was delighted with first time passes every time round! Will be recommending Practical Bikes to anyone looking for training and courses.

Fantastic experience: Passed my full cat A licence yesterday at the first try!! I can’t thank Mike and all the guys at practical bikes enough! Great tutelage from everyone I worked with there, as well as everyone being really friendly and approachable, just making learning a really fun experience. I was really keen to get things done ready for the spring/summer and Mike was able to really make that happen being really accommodating shuffling things around to get me through as quickly as I could manage! On top of all that at a very reasonable price too! Can’t recommend these guys enough and like so many other previous students I’ll be back to see the guys and looking at doing the advanced rider training too, which I think speaks volumes about the people and school that many of the students still come by after they have gained their licence!

Fantastic experience: These guys have taken me from never riding a bike in August, all the way through to holding a full A licence by February. I’ve not been the easiest customer in the world, nevertheless they’ve gone out of their way to accommodate me. Fantastic experience: What can I say about Mike and his team but exceptional , the most patient , knowledgeable and encouraging guys ever , when I started my journey I had very little to no experience and had a job to turn the bike around in the whole yard let alone complete a figure of 8 and after many failures and heartache the self doubt crept in and I was considering giving up , fortunately for me Mikes encouragement and belief in and one last roll of the dice I now at the grand age of 53 have a full license and freedom to enjoy the next chapter of my life What ever your skill set is they can definitely help you grow and achieve your goals

Fantastic experience: Excellent CBT training today. It was my first time riding a motorbike. I have a full car licence which definitely helped with feeling safe and aware on the road. Toby has an amazing teaching style - really supportive and accommodating. Session is adjusted to your pace and needs. Highly recommend and will most certainly be doing my full bike licence in the future.

I had been using the restricted honda they have and it is a mint bit of kit all the bikes are nice and up to date. Will definitely be going back to do my full A licence with Mike.

I started with a Taster session, followed by my CBT. I then did my DAS training, which included several development lessons to get accustomed to a bigger (650cc) bike, Mod 1 and Mod 2 training and both tests. Fantastic experience: Amazing, quality training given and is accommodating to your level of experience. They are flexible with dates as they can be, but overall the staff and the bikes are quality. Fantastic experience: I've done my cbt and direct access training here. I have my Mod 2 test this coming week. My instructors have been Dave and Toby. They're brilliant. Very helpful but also patient and encouraging. They never make you feel stupid if you make a mistake. The bikes are really good too. I'm using a kawasaki z650 which is light and manoeuvrable yet has good power to get upto speed. I highly recommend practical bikes to anyone who wants to learn to ride even if you're not from the area.

Fantastic experience: Great experience start to finish. I was directed to Mike and his team after struggling to get in at my own local test centre for Mod1/2. I was told it’d be 6 months before I could get in. So I bought a 125 and settled on a 6 month wait. The riding group I’m part of (North West Bikers) posted me in Practical Bikes direction and I’m glad they did! Mike couldn’t have been more helpful; after messaging them one evening around 9 pm I was on the phone to him 10 minutes later (yes that late) and he talked me through the whole process. Explained how it all worked, costs involved and I had availability of both mod 1/2 emailed to me and booked within 2 days. Instead of the 6 month wait I was looking at all training and testing planned in within 2 months. Amazing! Now down to their training and delivery. Excellent. I work within the training industry myself and appreciate a good balance of a relaxed environment, in depth knowledge, sensible pragmatic approaches to delivery and being able to learn at my own pace. I found that Mike and his team catered to all aspects of this. Although I had various instructors at each stage of training, the information taught was standardised and everyone was singing off the same hymn sheet with expectations and understanding what was required. I found their delivery style relaxed but to the point with what I needed to demonstrate. When I found I was struggling with certain aspects they were quick to support me and I was back on track. I didn’t have to think about a thing when attending training/test days. A REALLY helpful reminder of where I needed to be/when/what I needed to bring was either emailed to me or sent via txt prior to training or testing. All you do is turn up and put into practice what they’ve taught you. I was ultimately successful at both stages (retake for me of mod 2, my own fault) but this too was easy and I was rebooked within 2 weeks and passed. I would highly recommend practical bikes to any rider, at any stage in their riding journey. I’ll certainly be looking to return in the new year for an IAM course as I believe this is offered. We can all, always learn something new! Between now and then I’ll be back for a brew on my 2 wheels minus the L plates. Safe riding. Fantastic experience.

Fantastic experience: Spoke to Mike initially about wanting to get my full licence. He talked me through doing my CBT, Mod 1 and Mod 2 tests. I was impressed with his openness and knowledge so signed up. He booked everything and I was given a structured schedule. Fantastic experience: Great instructors, relaxed atmosphere, decent bikes to learn on. fairly priced lessons and packages , they sort all the tests out and stuff and you can have a laugh with them too. I've done cbt to full license and can't recommend them highly enough.
