Negative experience: It'd closed down

Negative experience: Paid £449 for my first 4 servicings on my motorbike. Due up for my first service and now I see they have gone into administration. Very frustrated because now I don't know what to do about getting my motorcycle serviced or failing to get it serviced how I will get my £450 back?

Fantastic experience: Purchased a moped for my 16 year old Son from Thunder Road Motorcycles Bridgend. Great service, staff are very helpful and professional. From the initial visit where we received advice from Chris, looking at mopeds, information about completing a CBT test etc, to making a purchase. When we returned to make our purchase, Andy was very helpful throughout the purchasing process and during collection, keeping us informed at all times. We'll be back to upgrade to a 125cc when my Son turns 17. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I collected my KLZ1000 this morning from Andy. Have to say Andy has been brilliant throughout the whole process of choosing, purchasing and collecting the bike. I've bought many bikes over the years from various dealers and Andy is up there with the best. Helpful, friendly without being pushy. He also made my wife feel very welcome. Sadly, most staff at motorcycle dealers don't even acknowledge her never mind speak to and include in our conversations. Hand over process at 9am this morning was smooth, prompt and hassle free. Positive experience: I've had to take my Honda CB650r back 3-4 times for the same warranty issue. I've now been waiting over 2 months for parts to arrive with no phone calls or updates. There is currently no ETA for the parts (system is saying 2099) but also no suggestion that they've chased this matter up with Honda. I have had to phone them on each occasion for an update. I have to say that Terri is a real credit to the company, her customer service is 1st class and she has a genuine interest in you and your bike.

Fantastic experience: What a top sales nan andy Powell enquired about a bike on thursday and he had it all sorted by Friday. Picked the bike up friday evening..nothing was to much trouble showed me how all the bike worked and even said if you want to know more just ring me ..lovely guy and very helpful.. thanks andy.

Negative experience: Plenty of nice bikes but follow up service for warranty work is really bad makes you jump though hoops long waiting times for booking your bike in till the point your warranty is at its end then tells you will have to pay for work even though you reported these issues months beforehand

Went in with a broken top box, needing a cargo net as a temporary fix when Ian said he had the parts and could replace it in store. 10 minutes later i had the new lock fitted for a great price and was ready to go on the road again. They have a wide selection of gear and bikes, really great shop and well worth a visit

Fantastic experience: As a Lambretta rider since the 1960's buying a Vespa was a big deal. I still have my 1966 Li but like a lot of "older" guys, the twisty clutch and gears are of limited appeal over a long distance. I'd been told many times that a GTS 300 is the way to go. Having spent time poking around online, I picked one out from Thunder Road at Bridgend. They delivered it on time and dealt with an amazing amount of paperwork (Online sales!) really efficiently. I loved it! I did a couple of hundred miles in the first few days. It was a 2018 with only a couple of thousand miles on it. Then I got thinking "should I have bought the HPE?" Luckily enough they had one sat there with only 900 miles on it. A couple of phone calls dealt with that one, and having given me a great deal they came back to Devon and swopped them over. The new one is immaculate and crisp to ride, really punchy down low where it matters. Off the lights it's childish fun.. The guys at Thunder Road are great to deal with, really helpful and totally up front. Highly recommended if you're unsure about an online sale.

When entering the shop we had a good browse around the shop at a variety of bikes but with so many bikes to choose from I definitely needed some guidance.. We was approached very nicely by one of the sales representatives chris prentice who was very helpful indeed.. we knew what bike we were looking for but just needed help in finding it..An Africa Twin was the bike and with all Chris's expertise he found us exactly what we were looking for..Also Jonathan that dealt with the finance side of things was also very helpful.. So from stepping foot in the door looking for a bike to a couple of days later I was riding away on the bike with a big smile on my face..I also have to mention that all the other staff in the store made us feel welcome..I will definitely be shopping again with you soon and recommending you..Thank you for everything and the free coffee.

Fantastic experience: Picked up a bike today, worked with Chris in Bridgend- incredibly helpful, always made time for me, friendly professional service. All staff I engaged with were friendly and helpful, not pushy at all - admin, paperwork and bike checks done efficiently, managed to go from ordering the bike to collection within a week, including finance. Will be going back for servicing/ support in the future and would highly recommend them, in particular Chris.

Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure, through misfortune, to deal with this fantastic business and Leigh in particular. En route to Wales to visit my elderly parents, watch cricket and ride the local countryside, having just laboured through the M6, as I entered Wales, my chain snapped. This stranded me and needed fixing so that the holiday was not ruined. As it is the height of bike season and I am away from home, somewhere unfamiliar, I was not optomistic. However, on ringing Thunder Road Motorcycles and explaining the situation, they graciously offered to help by taking the bike in straight away and trying to fit it in if there was room, unexpectedly, in the fully booked workshop. A day later, my bike was ready for me to continue and salvage the trip. A massive thank you to an amazingly helpful and professional team. Entirely happy with the work done and now looking forward to seeing the amount of Wales I had planned on before setting off. Needless to say, highly recommended.

I bought my bike there last year and recently brought it for service and only got great service from them. The staff - very knowledgeable, both at the sales and service departments. Last time even visited the cafe and next time will have to try the breakfast in there - heard it is amazing before but not tried yet If you are looking for a motorcycle, gear, motorcycle service - these are your guys!

Negative experience: I don't know what happened, I have been a customer for many years and frequently body their cafe. But twice now they have effectively refused to look at and repair my motorcycle. Don't know what I have done to upset them or if they have a skills shortage and focusing only on easy stuff i.e. MOT and servicing. UPDATE: As you can see from Carol's response to my review, they are only focusing on MOT or Servicing. If you want anything more complex, you're better off going elsewhere. UPDATE 2: Just discovered they tried to call me on the mobile phone, they know I am 100% Deaf. How do they expect me to answer the phone? You couldn't make it up!!!! Also the fact they tried to call me means they are in breach of the Equality Act 2010!!!

Fantastic experience: Can't fault the staff. Andy, Chris, Johnathan brilliant. Unable to get a bike I liked due to COVID the team pulled a rabbit out of the hat. When I turned up to collect my bike as was blown away. The extras I got was unbelievable. Andy and Chris got me the bike I didn't think I could ever have, but they did the impossible. Fantastic experience: Don’t often leave reviews but I had such a good experience at Thunder Road I thought it 100% deserved one. Travelled down from Scotland having enquired about the bike I was after, I was met by a top class service and a beautiful showroom of bikes. Staff were super friendly, spotless bikes and the in house cafe was also great! Chris, in sales was brilliant! So easy going and with no added pressure whatsoever! Fantastic experience: Service on my 2020 GSXR1000R. I’d like to thank all the team at Thunderoad Motorcycles. They made my bike service so easy and they done a fabulous job as they always do. I am really fussy with who I let loose to work on my bikes but I must say I never worry when these guys do the work. I really can’t see myself going anywhere else in the future and when the time comes I’m sure I’ll be getting my next bike from them. Fantastic experience: The staff at Thunder Road are fantastic. I bought a Honda 125 last June, my first bike, and after passing my test in January, I've just part exchanged for a Honda NC750X. During both purchases, the sales and finance communication and service were excellent (thank you Richard and Jon). Had a battery charger lead fitted on the weekend and again the service was excellent. There is always the conflict for sales guys of being too pushy as opposed to not being attentive enough when you arrive in the showroom. I think the guys at Thunder Road have just the right balance. If they don't approach you then if you need help just ask someone and they're only too pleased to offer advice. Thanks again guys. Loving the new bike!

Fantastic experience: Having only ridden a bike as pillion for over 30 yrs, I decided to purchase a scooter. The team down Thunder Road are great. Not pushy in any way and very knowledgeable about theirs products. My scooter has had its first service this month, which was carried out by their team. They were very thorough and efficient. The breakfast was good too (said hubby, who took it down for me).

Fantastic experience: Just purchased my first bike with Thunder road. Chris P (salesman) was awesome the whole way through making my experience easy and exciting. I travelled 240 miles (delivery available just couldn't wait) to collect my bike with help from staff loading it into my van followed with a quick breakfast in there cafe upstairs before heading home. The show room was impressive also with a huge range of bikes. Although it's far away for me, I will definatly be going back for an upgrade in the future.

Fantastic experience: I have my Suzuki Burgman serviced at Thunder Road Bridgend regularly. It's like going to the doctors - the servicing team, a fine bunch of lads, keep meticulous records of what gets done and warn me well in advance if anything needs replacing so that if it's a big expense [I'll need to replace my exhaust soon] I can budget for it in advance. We always have a bit of banter a laugh and a joke and I can sit in the cafe and have a free cup of coffee while the work is being done - you don't get that on the NHS! I thoroughly recommend Thunder Road.

Fantastic experience: I have to be honest and say that for a number of years I took my bike to the main Ducati dealers first in Cardiff then in Bristol. I’m starting to think why I bothered going all that way when I have a first class option on my doorstep! Dropped the bike off Saturday for an MOT, service and tyre change and it was done and dusted by Wednesday. Very efficient and helpful. Always getting in touch immediately if any further cost might be incurred Picked the bike up and took it out for a few hours and it runs as sweet as a nut!

Fantastic experience: Had a problem with my 19 plate Suzuki, throttle assembly needed replacing. Phil (in servicing and parts) was an absolute legend and a genuinely nice bloke all the way through. The part was coming from Japan so took a while, but Phil was awesome and always had time for me even though he is rushed of his feet. Top bloke in a top dealership!

Fantastic experience: To save anyone time, thunder Rd Bridgend is not open for in store shopping as stated on Google opening times. Drove all the way here from Cardiff just to get to the door that says 'showroom closed' *edit... My fault didn't see that you need an appointment
