Hello, I’m Stuart a fully qualified Approved Driving Instructor.

I worked for Bill Plant Driving School for two years before starting my own company called Driving Up North as an independent driving instructor in January 2024.

Driving Up North provides high quality driving lessons in a manual gearbox, dual-controlled tuition vehicle. Every driving lesson is at your own pace in a calm and supportive environment and lessons are customer-centered so that you can identify areas you feel are most important to you.

Pupils are provided with the Total Drive App, free of charge, to manage your progress, lesson dates/times and payment receipts.

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t recommend Stuart more! He has always been calm and patient with me. I felt so comfortable from my first lesson. I left every lesson feeling like I have made good progress and I genuinely looked forward to our weekly lessons. Thank you so much for sacrificing a day from your holiday so that I can attend my test, which I passed first time thanks to Stuart!

Fantastic experience: Stuart is a fabulous instructor that i would recommend to anyone. He’s patient and caring and didn't try to rush me into anything i wasn’t comfortable with, he’s easy to talk to and was excited for every lesson. Very happy with the outcome with a pass first time, i will miss our weekly lessons. Thank you Stuart!

Fantastic experience: If I could give 10 stars I would. Stuart has got both of my children through their Tests first time. They both enjoyed having lessons with him. His dry sense of humour and his ability to connect and communicate with teens (which any parent of a teen will tell you can be challenging at times especially when telling them what to do) appears to be a winning combo. I highly, highly recommend Driving Up North. Top class tuition! Thank you Stuart
