Bill's Wheels - Driving Instructor

Fantastic experience: Before I started lessons with Bill I had taken 40 hours of lessons with another automatic instructor. I’d been reduced to tears most lessons and after all these hours I’d not made it off an industrial site, and been told it would be a miracle if I managed to get a license. Before I gave up on myself completely, I found Bill after searching for instructors with SEN/ADHD experience. Not only was I 38 years old when I started lessons, I have severe ADHD. And by this stage was more than anxious when in a car. Within an hour of my first lesson, Bill had me successfully tackling the roundabouts of Colchester. This gem of an instructor has nearly 2 decades of experience with neurodiverse driving, and is definitive proof of how it’s so important to find the right instructor. The man has the patience of a saint, and a wonderful calm demeanour. His teaching style brought my confidence back and within 70 hours had taken me from a hopeless case to a first time pass. I truly could not recommend him enough.

Fantastic experience: For many years I thought I wouldn't be able to get my driving licence. I had many negative driving experiences in the past, from unhelpful instructors, driving anxiety and low self-confidence which left me convinced that driving just wasn’t for me. I thought I would never sit behind a wheel ever again. Then, one year ago, I decided to give driving a go again after seeing how well my colleague was doing with Bill. It turned out to be the best decision I have ever made. Bill is an exceptional instructor and a genuine and kind person. He is professional, knowledgeable, friendly and most importantly he is able to put you at ease while driving - which is what I really needed. With previous driving instructors, I would dread driving to the point of panic attacks. But with Bill's help and support, I felt calm, safe and comfortable in all lessons with him. I now feel confident and comfortable in my driving skills and no longer fear driving or being on the road. I even passed with zero faults! :) I can't recommend Bill highly enough - if you're looking to get driving, Bill is the right person! Fantastic experience: There are not enough stars to rate this driving instructor. He is the most reassuring, calming and understanding man I've ever met. He perfectly understood how my ADHD affects my driving and made helpful accommodations to increase my focus and adapted teaching me to fit my learning style. He believed in me when I didn't and instilled me with the confidence I needed to pass my test. After an awful experience with my first test, he made it his priority to keep me motivated and to not lose faith. I passed with just one minor the second time, he really is that good. And on a personal note, he was incredibly supportive with me transitioning and was very respectful of my pronouns. He has comforted me through multiple driving breakdowns, life-changing circumstances and horrible examiners. Every driver that goes through Bill's Wheels absolutely deserves to be on the road. I cannot thank this man enough for all that he has done.

Fantastic experience: Bill is a fantastic driving instructor especially for those with anxiety around driving. Having failed a test several years ago with a different instructor I was very apprehensive about getting back into learner seat. Bill's approach was calming and reassuring whilst being mindful of the learners needs, all of which culminating in passing the first time under Bill's guidance.

Fantastic experience: My learning experience with Bill has been wonderful and I genuinely could not have asked for a better driving instructor. I had never been behind the wheel prior to my lessons with Bill, and as someone with anxiety I was quite nervous. Bill is very friendly with a relaxed nature and really made me feel at ease and confident behind the wheel. Fantastic experience: Without any doubt Bill is the best instructor Full of knowledge,good instructor but the most important is how kind he is and how much patience he has for the learners Even if the day of my test the examiner decided to change the rute I was able to pass well cos I been teaching well no just for the test . Fantastic experience: If you’re looking to learn to drive an automatic car in Colchester with a high quality instructor, then i would 100% recommend Bill. Bill is very knowledgable, reliable, friendly and just overall a really fantastic instructor. He is easy to get on with and always happy to help, no matter how many questions you have, and if you don't understand something, he will show you until you get it. Bill is really great for nervous learners, and was really helpful and supportive when I was nervous about my driving test. Fantastic experience: Bill is the best driving instructor in Colchester. He is patient, inspiring and motivating. As a dyslexic and falling in ADHD spectrum, I often learn everything in my own unique ways. Bill was patient with me and helped me learn to drive the right way. I passed the first time taking the exam even though everything that could go wrong during the test, did go wrong (though that’s a long story but in short I had bad luck during the test but I passed). Main take is that I learned how to drive properly and passed with flying colours, and couldn’t have happened without Bill’s instructions and guidance. Would highly recommend him to anyone taking up driving.
