Fantastic experience: Recently passed my test first time after taking my drivng lessons with James. His style of teaching really helped me grow in confidence whislt driving. James is really approachable and easy to talk too which helped ease my nerves in early lessons. I would recommend James to anyone who is looking for a driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of learning to drive with James and managed to pass my test first try. From the very first lesson He created a comfortable learning environment that helped me feel at ease and more confident behind the wheel. James is very knowledgeable and extremely patient. He was able to find a good pace of learning that worked for me and I appreciated his honest feedback. Aswell as being an incredible teacher, He is easy to get along with and a pleasure to talk to aswell. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: Passed first time a few weeks ago with James! Very patient and knows everything an instructor should and more. Very reliable and is honest with your progress giving you the confidence in stuff you are good at and also keeps at the stuff I struggled to grasp. I used to be quite nervous on the roads but now know how I should react at situations and a confident driver Anyone looking for an instructor is in safe hands!

Fantastic experience: James is a wonderful driving instructor. If it wasn't for his helpful tips and kind nature, I'd never have passed my test. He is very perceptive - using different teaching methods to suit the individuals learning abilities/personalities. I'd highly recommend using James if you're looking for an encouraging, friendly & professional driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: Booked a block of lessons for my partners birthday , He is a very anxious person and would never have taken it upon himself to do it . Knowing nothing about driving on his first lesson he came home so excited for his next . James was very patient and undoubtably knew exactly what he was talking about . 22 lessons later my partner had passed his driving test .That alone speaks for itsself thanks james and dont let one person get you down !

Fantastic experience: I had previously taken lessons with someone else and given up. Decided to get back to it and met James. His patience and knowledge are second to none. He was friendly, encouraging and gave me the confidence to pass. I have recommended him several times since and will continue to do so

Fantastic experience: James is without a doubt one of the nicest driving instructors I’ve came across, very calm. Professional , Always on time and most importantly for me I have never felt uncomfortable when i make a mistake. I’ve had lessons with other instructors in the past and have gave up on lessons numerous times. 10 years later I plucked up some courage to be able to try again. I’m so glad I did. James was recommended by a friend and I’m glad I listened. I never thought I had the ability to do this and James has made me feel I can therefore I haven’t gave up and still currently a student of James’ without a doubt best and most professional instructor in Greenock.

Fantastic experience: I learned to drive with James over 10 years ago. I completed an intensive 2 week course and he took me from not having a clue to passing my test. He was fantastic, very patient and supportive. I still continue to recommend him to friends and family!

Fantastic experience: Nearly been driving a year now after learning to drive with James, i was only 17 on my first lesson very nervous and used to have alot of anxiety. James was nothing but patient and made me feel at ease the whole time he was always honest and ready to take the next step when i was comfortable. You could talk to james about anything and he would listen! He is a great instructor and i wouldnt recomend anyone else

Fantastic experience: After a couple of years of wasted time and money with another instructor I looked into doing an intense week long driving course. James was recommended by a customer of mine. I contacted James and after a chat on WhatsApp to establish my experience, he booked me in for a week, with the test at the end of the week. I was sceptical to say the least after my previous experiences with a driving instructor. I met James on the Monday morning and off we went. I was probably dangerous on the road after picked up nothing but bad habits from the previous instructor, James was clear in his teachings and rather unbelievably i was a better driver after the first hour. I knew there and then that this might work. After a stressful but enjoyable week I passed my driving test with ease. I'm delighted I met James as he was top class as an instructor and also as a guy. I'd give him 10 stars on here if I could as without him i'd probably still be doing school runs on buses.

Fantastic experience: After being with 2 different driving instructors previous to James and not getting on well with them I found James and I couldn’t have asked for a better driving instructor. James is an amazing instructor, very patient and really listens to his pupils and their needs. I was always so nervous for lessons and he really put me at ease. He always likes to focus on the positive things and he is very supportive I couldn't have passed without him. I highly recommend him!

Fantastic experience: At an older age and needing to pass for hospital appts for a relative, I was very nervous to begin my Driving journey. From the beginning James was reassuring, patient, and so knowledgeable. I almost drove us into the Clyde first lesson! But even that didn't phase him, though I'm sure he was glad when the lesson was over lol If you need a top rate, friendly, knowledgeable and reassuring calm instructor I could not recommend James any higher. Basically the best.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic intstructor. Straight to the point but with abundant patience. The way I like it.

Negative experience: Why is it when someone gives you a negative review it's their fault. Take responsibility for your own actions. My daughter was your nervous driver, how dare you lie about her, she gave an honest review of how you treated her. In 22 years I havent heard my daughter raise her voice to anyone, she is the kindest most sympathetic person to everyone and you had her in tears. You deserved everything she said in her honest review. I have never heard her talk about anyone like she did about you so that shows everyone what kind of person you are. Nasty.

Negative experience: I very rarely leave reviews but feel as though I need to on this occasion. If you are a nervous driver, do not book with this man, I cannot stress it enough. My past lessons with a previous instructor (who was amazing and encouraging) were all completely discredited by James. If you need to discredit and berate someone else’s teaching methods to boost your own, that shows what sort of “teacher” you are. My lesson was cut short by more than 20 minutes however he still kept time aside to pick apart everything I had done with absolutely no encouragement, this was done so harshly and left me never wanting to learn to drive again. For someone who claims to leave people looking forward to their next lesson and someone who claims to work at the learner’s own pace, that’s not a very good sign after one single lesson. I did not pay for this lesson and I am so glad I didn’t. If you are a nervous driver, DO NOT book.

Fantastic experience: Passed my test today at first time of asking thanks to James’s calming, informative and straight forward way of teaching to drive. I was incredibly nervous before my test and I was still able to implement the techniques that james had taught me. After over 40hrs of driving lessons I never thought this day would come. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic instructor! Very professional and on time for every lesson! Committed to getting me passed and confident in my driving even though I was extremely nervous with no confidence in my own ability to drive. Absolutely wouldn't have passed without his support and communication thoughtout my lessons. Highly recommended for anyone wanting an instructor who takes pride in teaching people how to drive.
