Negative experience: Extremely Disappointed – Would Not Recommend Our experience with Kevin as a driving instructor was deeply disappointing and frustrating. My daughter had weekly 2-hour lessons with him for over a year, yet he continuously insisted she was not ready for her test, regardless of her clear progress. After each pre-paid block of lessons, he pushed back her test and recommended we purchase more sessions—often without providing constructive feedback or a clear plan for improvement. On several occasions, my daughter came home in tears, with lessons sometimes being cut short due to how upset she became. Rather than focusing fully on instruction, Kevin would often listen to audiobooks during the lesson, which my daughter found distracting and unprofessional. When we finally insisted on booking the test, Kevin refused to take her and only confirmed this the Friday before a Monday test, leaving us in a very difficult position. Thankfully, we took her in her own car, and she passed with just five minor faults—a clear indication that she was more than ready and had been for some time. Looking back, it feels like Kevin was more interested in extending lessons than supporting progress. We trusted him with a significant investment of time and money, and we regret not switching instructors sooner.
