Our comment from DrivingSchoolsTOP.co.uk about 1-2-Learn:
A teaching approach centred on confidence and clarity
Learning to drive at 1-2-Learn revolves around a customised methodology that prioritises each student's individual pace. Learners consistently highlight the patience and calm demeanour of the instructors, particularly Andy, whose supportive attitude helps transform nervous beginners into secure and independent drivers.
Close mentorship and active listening are recurring themes. The instructors adapt to every person's learning style, adjusting lesson intensity and providing straightforward explanations. This approach significantly reduces test anxiety and enables natural progression from zero prior knowledge to confident road usage.
Structured methodology: targeted and practical lessons
Rather than following a rigid template, each session is designed to cover the exact competencies required at that stage. Students note that the skills practised mirror the official driving test, which removes surprises on assessment day. The continuous alignment between training and examination ensures that learners build a genuine understanding of roadcraft.
- Goal-oriented lesson planning with clear progression
- Direct alignment with official test requirements
- Tailored repetition to strengthen weaker areas
- Pre-exam preparation using familiar, commonly tested routes
This practical framework guarantees that students develop independent judgement behind the wheel, a crucial step toward long-term safe driving habits.
Quality resources and strategic route planning
Beyond personal instruction, learners appreciate the attention to detail in the supporting materials. Vehicles are consistently maintained in clean and fully roadworthy condition, fostering a safe and professional training environment. Lessons are conducted on specific routes that frequently match those used in the official practical exam, a detail many students credit as a major factor in easing pre-test nerves.
Combining route familiarisation with thorough skill preparation means that assessment day feels remarkably similar to a regular training session, allowing candidates to perform at their best.
Strong pass rates and unanimous student endorsement
First-time pass rates are a clear indicator of the school's effectiveness. Numerous learners have completed their training in just a handful of lessons, passing the practical examination with zero or minimal deductions. This consistent success story has turned the academy into a go-to choice for families, with many siblings and friends referring each other.
- High success rate on initial test attempts
- Accelerated learning without compromising safety or confidence
- Continuous guidance and personalised tracking until the exam
- Overwhelming recommendations from satisfied pupils and their networks
Overall, the institution stands out as a reliable option for those seeking a structured, confidence-building learning experience that delivers measurable results.

Negative experience: Arranged a driving lesson, didn't turn up on time, i rang half hour later and told me he knocked my door and that it was booked for last week. I Asked him why he didn't ring me when he so say knocked my door last week ( i was home so was my partner) and he said he could find my texts.... so great treatment for his customes. His attitude towards me for the mess up was disrespectful by hanging up the phone.
Fantastic experience: Really good instructor and always gives clear instructions. Thank you Andy!
Fantastic experience: I've just passed my driving test with 3 minors and Andy has been absolutely brilliant the entire time I've been learning! I've had other instructors who I struggled learning with but Andy's lessons were structured and straightforward. Would definitely recommend!!
Fantastic experience: Andy was a really good driving instructor: reliable, punctual and friendly, and clear with explanations. All of his lessons were clearly structured and focused on what I just needed to know. Thanks to Andy, I passed first time and feel really confident and well prepared for driving independently.
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience learning to drive with Andy, he was always very patient and calm with me and he made sure I was well-prepared and ready for the test. I passed first time and would highly recommend!
