Fantastic experience: Been meaning to write this for ages but life got in the way! I booked 10 hours with Karen as a refresher, I've had my licence for years but always been too frightened/anxious to drive alone resulting in just not driving at all because my partner could. After buying my second car and having children it became a necessity to drive so I decided to take lessons again. And I must say what a driving instructor! After my 10 hours I have driven my car alone (something I never thought I would achieve) and no longer have an overwhelming sense of dread if I need to drive my car, I just do it! I can honestly say if I had gone to Mirrors when I first started my driving journey I would have never had the issues with driving anxiety that I've faced and would have been a confident capable SAFE driver from the start. I could not recommend enough!

Fantastic experience: I found Mirrors after a tough start with another driving school; Karen made me feel very safe and comfortable to the point where learning to drive felt enjoyable again. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time learning to drive so I would highly recommend, as learning with Mirrors Driving School allowed me to become a confident driver.

Fantastic experience: Karen is a very patient and understanding instructor who helped our daughter get through her driving test on her first attempt despite her being extremely fearful and nervous on many occasions behind the wheel. Fantastic experience: I couldn’t recommend mirrors enough to anyone looking for a driving instructor! Dan was my instructor however I also had a few lessons with Karen to make me feel comfortable with a different passenger. Dan showed patience throughout every lesson. He happily explained anything I was uncertain about using drawings, videos and questions to ensure I understood everything completely. Karen also really helped me to improve my nerves to get me test ready and made me understand the importance of taking my time. They provided me with a safe and enjoyable experience during my 4 months with them, teaching me to feel comfortable and confident with my driving. I passed only a few weeks ago and I am already confidently driving 3 hour daily commutes to my uni placement, without them this wouldn’t be possible. They helped not only me but my sister as well with getting our licences and we couldn’t thank them enough!

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic service. Dan taught me how to drive as both a learner looking to pass their test, but also things to look out for and improve on for driving after passing. Mirrors have two fantastic driving instructors and a set of two wonderful cars to learn to drive in. I couldn’t recommend them enough. 10/10

Fantastic experience: I learnt to drive with Dan in 2022, I honestly would not have kept going if it wasn’t for how patient Dan was with me. I always wanted to quit at the slightest mistake I made. I passed in March 2023 and I couldn’t thank him enough for putting up with me I wouldn’t recommend anyone else

Fantastic experience: I have worked with Dan from the end of June to this afternoon in September. I have passed first time and I put it to that I learnt to drive with driving school. I joined them with a theory test passed, after being messed around by another company, and passion for motors but with little no experience behind the wheel besides assertive backseat driver to my peers. In 60 hours, throughout the summer and I learnt with Dan and couldn't be more grateful. His easy and comedic nature made it very easy to relax in the car and not feel embarrassed for the first couple of hours whilst I worked on basics. While only working briefly with Karen (2 Lessons) for a change of passenger I couldn't have worked with a nicer, firm but fair teacher. Karen exudes client first teaching. It is clear that she relishes teaching new young to mature drivers to create more safe drivers on the road. The exact same can be said about Dan. Together they have a very strong chemistry and unique driving school together and I would hand on heart recommend them to anyone in the County Durham area if they want a comprehensive learning plan. Fantastic experience: Firstly, sorry for the late review! I learnt to drive with Dan and passed first time back in 2022 before I went to uni, I enjoyed every second of learning with Dan and never felt under pressure or judged when making mistakes. I truly think learning with Mirrors has made me a confident and sensible driver as I’ve now been driving back and forth from uni on the motorways (2 hour journeys) for a year now with no issues whatsoever. At the beginning of this year I recommended my partner to go with Mirrors to pass his test before his last year of uni and unsurprisingly he passed his test first try after only 3 months! Thank you both Dan and Karen for teaching us and doing an amazing job as always!

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience overall with mirrors driving school, did over 40 plus hours and Karen brought me right of my shell and unlocked my true potential of being a driver! Told me I’d pass first time and just look at me now. Just collected my new first car and driving all over like I’ve been a driver forever. Couldn’t reccomend this school anymore to anyone, they go out of there way in every way possible to ensure you get what you deserve.

Fantastic experience: 100% Recommend! I had multiple lessons with 2 different instructors prior to contacting Mirrors and it got to a point where I believed I’d never be able to drive confidently. I passed last year with Dan and have been driving ever since with no problem thanks to everything he taught me. Fantastic experience: I had Karen as a driving instructor for 40 odd hours and she’s been amazing! Any time I didn’t quite understand something she’d take her time to make sure she explained it thoroughly. She’s so patient and kind, and I had a lesson with Dan close to my test date and he did a great job being just as patient. Thank you both for helping me pass my test first time!!

Fantastic experience: Learning to drive with Karen was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend to an nervous drivers out there. She truly cares about everyone of her pupils and makes sure they are 100% ready and driving *safely* before putting them through their test. She regularly shares dash-cam footage as a fun way to warn of the dangers on the roads and ensures you have a full understanding of the road and the car. Fantastic experience: Mirrors Driving School has seen my two eldest right though their driving lessons and passing their driving tests. Harry was taught by Dan and Eleanor most recently by Karen. Both have received top notch tuition and support throughout the whole process. Harry has been driving for 3 years now and is a very cool calm confident driver and Eleanor although just having passed has had no hesitation getting out onto the road. I would highly recommend both Dan and Karen without hesitation.

Fantastic experience: Well what can I say apart from the best of the best! Dan put me at ease from the very first lesson, today I passed with just 2 faults! He had faith in me even when I didn’t in myself. An excellent driving school! I met Karen on a couple of my lessons too who is also lovely, gave me a big hug today when I passed . Fantastic experience: I passed my test with Karen first time. I highly recommend Karen as a driving instructor. She focuses on the parts of learning to drive that you are struggling with in a very patient friendly way structuring each lesson to suit each person and she makes sure you are fully prepared for your test. Karen made learning to drive a good experience making me feel comfortable and relaxed from the first lesson. I am glad I have passed my test but I will actually miss our drives together.
