Negative experience: Complete waste of time, I do not recommend this instructor unless you would like to drive for 10 metres over half an hour of talking also he told.me not to look at the speedometer even though the dashboard is meant to be part visible when driving

Fantastic experience: Mike is absolutely fantastic!! Really put safety on the road first in every lesson and I passed my test first time today!! I’m pleased with his service and definitely recommended!!

Negative experience: When I took on Alan as a driving instructor, I had 40 hours of lessons already under my belt. I went travelling for 4 months and came back to live in a new area so I needed a new instructor. I found it odd that in the first 2 hour lesson we were still driving around the cassioberry estate and by the 3rd lesson we still hadn't left. Alan was assuring me that I wasn't safe enough to drive and I totally lost all my confidence. I was about to give up when my boyfriend gave me a pep talk and told me to look for a new instructor. I also found out my theory test was running out on the 31st October so I knew I had to make the time worthwhile. I found an instructor (Absolute Driving School - on Facebook) and Julie was amazing. With a block of 10 lessons I had a test booked and passed with 2 minors a week before my theory was set to run out. Now, I want to be clear about why I am writing a bad review because Alan has many good reviews. If you're new to driving and have only experienced Alan as an instructor, you might not be concerned about how slowly things progress but you can't learn if you don't get pushed and Alan is all about progressing at the speed of a snail. I'm sure his students pass with great results but only after spending ridiculous amounts of money and time and I believe after being taught how to be scared. It's important to be cautious and aware of hazards but learning to be a scared driver won't get you anywhere. I don't recommend Alan at all and I hope people who use him and read this will notice that if they feel the same, they should move on. Driving around an estate in circles is a waste of your money and time. Remember I passed with 2 minors...for Alan to have let me do a driving test I would have gone past my theory expiry date and I'd probably still be driving around the estate today.

Fantastic experience: Really good service, calm, thorough, positive encouragement! Even if youre making the odd mistake all he does is explain where you need to improve and make sure you learn from your mistakes by constant reinforcement of mirror checks! And everything you need to know! Passed first time with ease! Thanks mike!

Fantastic experience: I was someone with a really bad learning experience 15 plus years ago that put me off driving completely. After a thorough search for the suitable instructor I contacted Mike. He was understanding, patient, but also challenging at the same time, pushing me to become better and more confident. He is a fantastic coach, altering his teaching method suiting your style of learning. All I can say is that I passed first time and hopefully became a safe driver as he always aspired me to be. Fantastic experience: I started to take lessons with Mike for a non-UK driving test, having had prior driving experience, and I passed my test first time. Mike is by far the best instructor with whom I have had the privilege to study, his having outstanding skills and deep knowledge of all aspects of defensive driving. He has been more than a teacher to me in providing me with a pattern for lifelong safe driving, and building up my set of skills to becoming the best driver I can.

Fantastic experience: My name is Vadym, I live in north London. I had my driving test booked in Watford. I used to drive in different country. Four and a half weeks ago I started to look for a driving school in Watford. Unfortunately no many schools answered on my request. I am so glad that I found Alan Bush Driver Training. Mike responded to my request. In our first conversation regarding driving, he pointed, main task is to drive as UK driving standards. I did not realize how bad I was, I had a lot of bad habits, I even managed to forgot theory what I had passed few month ago. Over 4 weeks we worked very hard. Thanks to Mike, I well improved my driving, I well improved theory (Mike pointed me a lot of useful theory books and DVD). As result, today I have passed my driving test with just two small mistakes regarding looking in mirror. Very delighted of what we had achieved. Fantastic experience: Mike is a truly amazing instructor! One of his strength as an instructor is really well managed course progress. The other thing is that he is so patient with your mistakes, sometimes so stupid mistakes that I feel embarrassed about. Well, I am glad that with his help I passed the test with the 1st attempt! Let me start a little bit about myself. I had a US driving licence for 4 years, and I had about 30K miles of driving. However, driving in the UK is so different. Mike starts with so many driving details that I really had no idea about. He is truly impressive on all the details, including driving habits, test routs, and all kinds of safety issues you probably cannot even imagine. What I found very useful is the attitude he teaches me. Learning to drive is not just about passing your test, but about the safety of yourself, your family, and other road users. That is the most important part of the driving. Once I have that in mind, I forget my nerves and I can concentrate during lessons. This also helps a great deal in the practical test. Once you focus on safety, you probably can pass the test easier! Highly recommend to everyone! I am going to have a plus-plus with him very soon.

As an international driver, obtaining a British driving licence seemed too daunting. He made me work really hard which resulted in me passing. Mike is always on time and never cancels his lessons with you (this is a problem I experienced with other driving instructors). Fantastic experience: Great driving intructor really calm and patient but has a good skill for teaching you regardless of what level of driving you may be on.
